Very good for the low price! The owners were very nice and extremely friendly. They were very accommodating during our stay and ensured our room was ready early on our arrival. The building is an old grandeur house with elaborate staircases and high ceilings. The room was spacious enough with a bathroom built into the side of it, as it would've originally been a very large room. It was cold outside in winter and the heater was kept on the whole team and heated the room well. This worked better than a more modern AC/heating system than another hotel that we stayed in was using. The breakfast options were adequate being freshly pressed orange juice, cereal, yoghurts, fruit, bread, cheese, ham, hard boiled eggs and pastel de nata. It is about a 15 mins walk down to the front area of the bridge and Ribeira and about a 15-20 mins walk to the city centre area of Bolhao or San Bento train station. Alternatively take an Uber or 5-10 mins walk to the metro. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. These are cheaper than the city centre and full of locals so felt more authentic.

Good…reception shows how to operate electronic lock for access to building Location 25 min. Walk to river. Price. The bad…2 storeys is like 4, lots of stairs. Floors are uneven if you have mobility problems. First thing reception did was say we owed them more $ (prepaid through Expedia) Restaurant they directed us to wasn't open No vanity space, just a sink. Wifi intermittent. TV intermittent. Shower small. The ugly…No heat (Porto was 11⁰C/52⁰F overnight 09/21/2025), very uncomfortable. Probably the reason for the musty smell. Noisy for a supposedly quiet neighborhood…garbage truck at 11:30 at night!? Should have paid more for another place.
