Motel 6-Espanola, NM

Hotel was good. In older are of town. Close to restaurant choices. Room was good, common areas need a freshening.

Good location. Rooms near the stairs are noisy. No elevator to the second level. Room was clean.

The location was convenient for my purposes and easy to find. The parking lot was well-lighted and seemed safe for that reason. The room seemed very clean, and I liked the bare floors which contributed to the sense of cleanliness. The window drapes needed minor repair, and the faucet in the sink needed more major repair, and not having strayed in a Motel 6 in many years, I missed being able to make my morning cup of coffee.

Kind of a sketchy area. Alot of garbage behind building but we did note that had lights that came on after dark in parking area and that was good! Also no shampoo, etc. But did offer soap.

Stayed a Friday and Saturday night in August 2024. Right off road to Santa Fe, cheap, ac worked (rattled), hot water and slept good. Just needed a place to sleep that was convenient on a last minute roadtrip and this was it. Saved 60 bucks staying here versus Motel 6 in Santa Fe. No homeless roaming the parking lot either.

The motel was near many businesses and restaurants, but the emergency door was unlocked on the second floor where we stayed, and the lobby and halls had a unpleasant smell. Luckily, the room didn't have an unpleasant smell. The fridge in our room was unplugged, so it was frustrating having to wait for it to cool down to preserve our food, etc.

The room is Okay. Fresh paint, nice refrigerator and microwave. Furniture and decor os dated. Kind of late 50's laminate. Floor is laminate too, better than carpet, but fairly scratched, and not shiney clean. Everything works, lights, water, unit style HVAC. Quiet enough. Almost impossible to get in and out of the parking lot. Up s steep slope directly on to a busy highway. No intersection, no traffic lights, no turn or acceleration lane. Half the parking lot is blocked off for resurfacing. Took everything out of the car. Looks to be in a rough part of town. Check in desk is glassed in and you pass your ID and credit card through a slot below the glass. Makes you wonder what you got into.

Note north and south. This means across the road from each other. Judging by the vehicles parked, the south side may be having success. The north side, which I stayed at, is delapitated.

Wanted a 1st floor room. There were 2 cars in the parking lot and front desk person said the lower rooms were full. There was no one there! Have stayed here several times: gap under room door so lots of light comes in, noise from hallway high when people walking by. Overall looks run down. Weird entry to parking lot. Dont think I'll be staying herebany more.

One of the cleanest motels I’ve been in a long time. The water was hot. It was good and they provided coffee. I will definitely stay here again.

Horrible, dirty, smells ugly....never had the worst experience

Some areas in my room were not clean! The outdoor area was cluttered and a mess!

This was an awful stay. One word "BEDBUGS". I would not recommend this place at all. Please post this I would not want anyone else to have a sleepless night. I had to check out earlier then my recommended stay. Have pictures but it wont let me upload them.

the property was dirty inside and out. when asked if there was a specific place for dogs to go potty clerk said where ever. when we needed more toilet paper, towels or bath rug, we were told to take the dirty one to the front desk to ask for a replacement. the sheets had cigarette holes (this was a non smoking motel)plug ins were lose and could start a fire at any time. there was no smoke detector and the bathroom was leaking as well as the trim was dirty and corners had cobwebs. management allowed workers from Texas to drink alcohol and play loud music until late at night. I've stayed a many Motel 6's and this one was the worst. I do not recommend staying here.

Dirty sheets

Clean property and comfortable beds. Very basic breakfast!!! Oatmeal and muffins only.

Dirty sheets in room. Management unwilling to provide a downstairs room because all rooms downstairs given to construction workers on jobs in the area! One positive thing. Management refunded charge for second night, as I cancelled that night because of the dirty sheets.

Requested quiet area of motel and was placed in the most noisy room 201, right next to the lobby and main road with traffic noise and voices throughout the night. Room had no desk, toilet barely worked, internet slow. Might give a better rating if the price wasn't $90 including tax, but at this price the motel was definitely not worth it. Not worth it anyways considering I got a little sleep and my request was not even remotely considered.

No real issues except the rooms’ wall to the hallway are paper thin. Anyone in the hall talking at normal volume could easily and loudly be heard in the room. People were coming and going all night. Would’ve rather had a door leading outside than to an indoor hall if that helped with the noise. Not to mention the price for a room was absolutely outrageous for what you got at a typical motel. For half the price, it would’ve been more tolerable

Spacious and clean. Not much insulation from noise from the road and hall.

Excellent beds. Repairs needed in bathroom. No facial tissue in room. Not enough electrical outlets in room. Door latch broken. Bathroom door does not close all the way.

attempted to take a shower at 5:00 AM, but there was no shampoo provided, and the shower handle to turn on the water was not working. This was quite inconvenient, especially at an early hour. I hope the hotel addresses these issues for future guests.

Front desk gave me a very quiet room. The bed was squeaky but overall I was pretty satisfied with the room.

It was okay for the price but I found it too close to the highway

The owner of the facility has always been very friendly and accommodating. The facility is always clean and comfortable. I've stayed here several times and will continue to stay here as I travel through the area a couple times a week.

They denied me the room. I had to drive another 50mi before I could find another room.

I was pleasantly surprised at the good desk service and the cleanliness of the room. It is a basic, no-frills rooms, but I was not disappointed with anything.

New management is awesome

The customer service at this location definitely needs improvement. The condition of the room was below average with maintenance issues.

Owner /Manager was super rude. Not helpful and probably shouldn't hold a customer service position.

Great new staff and management

Not a good check in, got to my room then the clerk called and changed my room. Charged me $20 for my partner. Felt like I was not welcomed in the hotel

Motel 6's are very basic, nothing fancy. No food at the hotel but there's a Sonic next door. The rooms were clean and quiet. This one allows pets, which is what we needed. We stayed 3 nights. The people hanging out in the parking lot were sketchy, but so is Espanola in general. As a woman, if I was traveling alone, I would have preferred to stay elsewhere.

It was perfect for what we needed. An inexpensive option that was close to the Summer Solstice Celebration. The room was clean and there was no carpeting inside the room.

The room was clean, but bare bones, no fan in bathroom, no shampoo or conditioner, only two hardback chairs, or sit on the bed or else, advertised hot breakfast, when we asked where to find the hot breakfast, the host said" hot coffee" and gave me 2 thumbs up. I told him my reservation stated hot breakfast, he gave me another two thumbs up. Coffee was not in room, but downstairs and down the hall!! It is located next to a drive-in restaurant that caters to noisy customer cars until late. The highway is very noisy as well. No thanks, not again for us!

There was so much wrong we left the next day when we had a bookibg dor multiple days. The staff was rude, so.much I felt unsafe and unwelcome. They claim to be pet friendly but I dont see how they can claim that. My room was so dirty I took over 40 pictures of the filth. I asked my bathtub and fridge to be cleaned after check in. There was l a dirty handprint on the tub with other nasty areas and the fridge was black. The lady came to clean it and used the same rag to clean the tub then the fridge. It was disgusting. While the lady, who was scared of my large dog was in my room I out my dog on the bed so she was out of the way. I got a call seconds later and was YELLED at by Adam the mananger. He said no dogs on bed and if it happened again I would not get my 100 back. He also told me we could not keep our dog in the room without us. We did not an to do this except to go to dinner. She has teaveled and does very well in a room. She is NEVER left alone while travelibg for more than a few hours, 3 at the most. When checking in we were required to put down a $100 cash deposit. The whole room was gross. Holes in sheets, boogers on the wall, sticky countertops, burn on the counter, dirty floor, hair all over, paint peelibg off wall. Outside was no better. This "pet freindly" hotel had one area for dogs to go to the bathroom and there were astic soda bottles full of human urine all around the area. They claimed to have coffee but did not. So much more to say, out of letters.
