beautiful property with nice spacious rooms; the rooms were cleaned every day and I had no issues during my stay. staff were mostly nice and friendly. the breakfast spread and the restaurant/bar were really good. I also enjoyed the recreational facilities including the gym, pools, spa and sauna. the property was in a convenient area at a walking distance from downtown and had gorgeous views. the only issue that I faced was that my room was on the fifth floor and I did not get any wi-fi signal up there.

die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, die Matratzen waren hart, für uns perfekt. Das Personal freundlich und professioell. Massage war gut, der Wellness Fitnessbereich angenehm geräuming. Es waren genügend Liegen vorhanden und man konnte den Swimmingpool sehr gut nutzen.

Our stay at Villa Sassa was good. The room was large, but seemed empty. Full kitchen but nothing to cook with or eat on. Friendliness of staff was hit and miss - the front desk Staff was great. Found it very odd that they shut down the pool to guests for “aqua fit” classes for two people - spa staff chased us down to let us know we couldn’t use the pool until those people were done their work out. Hot tub was more of a warm tub - needed to be much hotter. Sauna facilities were great.

Excellent fitness centre and buffet breakfast. Major renovations were taking place which were not advertised on Expedia, therefore, no outdoor pool or solarium access. The room was uncomfortably hot at night and the portable air conditioning unit dated and ineffective. Fans didn’t help which meant for sleepless nights - in May.

We had a wonderful experience – this hotel offers a luxurious and relaxing stay with excellent spa facilities, a beautiful outdoor pool overlooking the lake, a great jacuzzi, and a spacious gym. The hotel was not crowded, which added to the peaceful atmosphere. It truly has everything you need for a quiet, rejuvenating vacation. The only downsides were the food, which was just average for a 4-star hotel, and the overpriced bistro – better to dine in town. Still, breakfast was good, and overall, this place has the potential to become our regular summer getaway.

Vi blev opgraderet gratis til den store suite, som var helt fantastisk med masser af plads og to altaner, begge med flotte udsigter. Stort fitness center med mange forskellige maskiner og en dejlig wellness-afdeling med udendørs (kun om sommeren) og indendørs pool, spa, sauna, dampbad, koldtvandsbassin og fodbad. God morgenmadsbuffet. Lidt dyr parkering (CHF 20 pr nat), og køkkenudstyr koster ekstra, hvis man vil bruge køkkenet. Vi havde dog taget vores eget med, og det blev ikke kommenteret. Der er ca. 2 km at gå ned til centrum (via en masse trapper og en trafikeret vej, men der kører også en bus lige udenfor døren, som kan anvendes gratis med Ticino ticket, som kan fås gratis i receptionen på forespørgsel.

The bedside lamps in the bedroom looked rather worn out, which didn’t really match the overall style of the hotel. Also, the kitchen had no equipment at all — it would have been nice to have at least some plates and cutlery. Especially when traveling with children, it’s practical to have a few essentials available for a quick snack in between meals.

The view from this hotel was amazing. The breakfast was excellent. However the room needs significant improvement. We had the premium suite lake view and it was missing furniture and mold was growing on the balcony. The kitchen was a nice touch but it was totally empty. No dishes or cutlery Thankfully, we didn’t spend much time in the room.

Our room was spectacular along with the view of the mountains and the lake. The breakfast was outstanding as well as the lunch. The ONLY thing that needs attention is the dirty carpeting in the hallways and the area around the spa. It was filthy-need shampooing

Schimmel im Bad, offen liegender Stecker im Bad, zerbrochene Plastikhalterung (Kleenex Box) verschmutzte Mini Bar, Aussenfassade mit Blick auf den Innenhof unschön, ungepflegt. Schade, wenn man nur dem Blick von der Terrasse auf diese Fassade hat. Das Zimmer meines Vaters hatte keinen Balkon. Der Preis für diesen Zustand ist inakzeptabel. Sehr schade.

We stayed at the suite room and that was amazing. The view was amazing. The bathroom was a little dirty the dloor(hairs) but the rest was perfect. The kitchen was great but they don’t have plates, silverware, etc. So you can’t cook there.

Flott utsikt på rommet med balkong (vi hadde suite i toppetasjen), svært vanskelig adkomst med bil da verken Google maps, Waze eller Apple kart klarte å finne riktig vei i forhold til parkering. Lange korridorer for å komme frem til rommet. Rommet og badene var ganske skitne, sengene var veldig harde. Aircondition i stuen bråkte mye. Frokost var ok/middels, men med en flott utsikt for lugano. Hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening og god service. Trenger oppgradering, var nok fint i sin tid..

Lage top, sehr freundliches Personal, die alle sehr bemüht sind. Die Zimmer (Premium Suite mit Seeblick) sind renovierungsbedürftig. Alles in die Jahre gekommen und notdürftig überpinselt. Zu viele Kinder im Hotel. Der Innenpool ist ab Nachmittag völlig mit Kindern überfüllt. Von Ruhe keine Spur. Frühstück ordentlich, sicherlich nicht überragend.

Very nice property with beautiful view of Lake Lugano. Staff was very helpful and went the extra mile when a request was made and were proactive in other ways. They left me a bottle of wine cuz they knew it was my birthday weekend. A bit further from the town (10-15 min walk) than I personally would have liked but because we were higher up we had an amazing view.

The hotel is a bit dated, 1980s architecture. The rooms are a nice size though and the bathrooms modernized. The pool is very nice. The restaurants and especially the service were awful. Overpriced, poor food and arrogant waiters really put a damper on our stay.

The view from Villa Sassa is stunning, and the property itself has great potential, but my stay was unfortunately disappointing. My pre-booked shuttle arrived nearly an hour late with no update or communication from staff. I completely understand that road closures can cause delays, but a simple message would have allowed me to make other arrangements and avoid unnecessary stress in a new city. When I arrived, my early check-in request wasn’t accommodated, which I can accept, but the way it was handled was very dismissive. When I tried to express my concerns to the front desk, the staff member simply said “thank you, have a good day” and hung up. I later provided written feedback to management but received no further response, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. It also took over 40 minutes for my luggage to be delivered to my room, adding to an already frustrating experience. As a VIP guest, I expected better communication, service, and attention to detail. While the hotel itself is peaceful and offers incredible views, it’s not as convenient as it seems. The property is uphill, and there aren’t any nearby restaurants or shops you’ll need to take a bus, taxi, or Uber to reach the main area. Overall, the setting is lovely, but the lack of communication, poor responsiveness, and dismissive service left a very negative impression. The view from our room was amazing! The Spa staff and spa treatment was so good we booked a couples massage again the next day. Highly recommend booking the Spa! Food was okay and the rest of the staff were okay at best. We are a younger couple (early 30s) on our honeymoon. Definitely one the youngest couples there. We both felt the staff was more welcoming to other guests than us. Not sure if it was an age thing or something else but we were very respectful and quiet. Just something we both felt and noticed throughout our stay. Would come back for the Views, the Spa and pool but that’s really it.

The check in was quick as we were given our key right away. It turned out that the agent neglected to give us sone key information such as free local transit pass es for hotel guests and wifi password. There’s no information in the room at all. We walked back to the reception area for WiFi password and we found out about the free transit passes the NEXT day from the train station agent after we paid our bus fares the first day!

We booked a stay at the Villa Sasa due to the reviews, description, and pictures we saw on Expedia. The drive to the resort was very urban and not at all what we expected. It is not close to any main street that you can walk by the lake, was difficult to find, and honestly just not what we expected after seeing pictures and reviews online. The receptionist, and those working at the front desk were very nice, but failed to explain any options as far as closest place to possibly swim in the lake, which main streets in the center of town or nearby or worth going to to walk around for reviews and good dinner, you really were left to google and find this information on your own. They do give you an electronic voucher for free public bus transportation, but no real direction of which stops are beneficial to go to which stops are good for walking around to shop or to grab dinner. Once you were at the resort, you were pretty much secluded to only the grounds of the resort as walking around there, and the nearby streets did not have anything.

It is a bit outside of the Lugano city center and is this quieter, but still very easy to go downtown. The room was very clean, the staff was helpful, the pool with view on the lake is incredible. For breakfast there were a lot of choices, all rather good. I definitely recommend this place!

Vi blev opgraderet gratis til den store suite, som var helt fantastisk med masser af plads og to altaner, begge med flotte udsigter. Stort fitness center med mange forskellige maskiner og en dejlig wellness-afdeling med udendørs (kun om sommeren) og indendørs pool, spa, sauna, dampbad, koldtvandsbassin og fodbad. God morgenmadsbuffet. Lidt dyr parkering (CHF 20 pr nat), og køkkenudstyr koster ekstra, hvis man vil bruge køkkenet. Vi havde dog taget vores eget med, og det blev ikke kommenteret. Der er ca. 2 km at gå ned til centrum (via en masse trapper og en trafikeret vej, men der kører også en bus lige udenfor døren, som kan anvendes gratis med Ticino ticket, som kan fås gratis i receptionen på forespørgsel.

Les chambres mériteraient un petit lifting, autrement très bon hôtels, avec une superbe vue sur Lugano. Petit déjeuner buffet très bien fourni! Un petit peu éloigné du centre ville surtout si vous souhaitez faire les trajets à pieds, mais station de bus à proximité, et très proche de la gare de Lugano. Merci!

Bezüglich Preis-/Leistung ist Villa Sassa in Lugano top. Es hat insbesondere sehr grosse Zimmer und eignet sich auch sehr gut für Familien mit den 2-Bett-Suiten und grossen Wohnzimmern. Es ist sauber aber einfach etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Restaurant ist gut aber eher teuer im Vergleich zu anderen guten Restaurants in Lugano. Der Service im Restaurant morgens und abends ist top. In der Bar sollte man sich aber auf einfache Drinks beschränken und genügend Zeit mitbringen. Da waren wir im Vergleich zu früher enttäuscht.

We had a wonderful experience – this hotel offers a luxurious and relaxing stay with excellent spa facilities, a beautiful outdoor pool overlooking the lake, a great jacuzzi, and a spacious gym. We have always enjoyed our annual stay with Villa Sassa. Been there 5 Thisyears in a row. This year was not much of a joy...... felt being ignored. Monday housekeeping left only towel for two, so I sent an email to front desk to ask them to bring another set of towels. Waited for some hours, no reply. Wrote again next morning, no reply or action. When confronting them, the receptionist answered "Oh yes, I saw that last night". He had seen our mail from the morning as well. No action. When we confronted him, he could not explain why there was no action, not saying or showing regret. Then we left a written letter for the general manager. He had 2.5 days to reply us while we were there. Have so far not heard a word frrom him either. It feels like they don't care about their loyal guests, ignore mails and don´t apologize for their mistakes. We are honestly considering finding a new place for our annual trip to Lugano next year.

The room was clean and very spacious. The furniture was outdated. There was no cups, plates or any cutlery even though there was a small kitchen. The AC was effective but noisy. The pool area and breakfast were excellent. We really enjoyed the spa and spinning class too.
