Ocean Dream Cancun by GuruHotel

La piscine est nettoyée, mais malgré cela à chaque jour en après-midi un film de gras flotte à la surface. Piscine tellement chaude, aucunement rafraîchissante. Une des 2 piscines perd le soleil vers 14h. La plage est exceptionnelle. Hotel propre.

La chambre est tres spacieuse avec balcon vue sur océan. Les equipements de l'hotel sont tres bons avec 2 piscine et plage aménagée.

Todo estuvo muy bien, solo tuvimos la mala fortuna que el único elevador que estaba funcionando dejara de funcionar, y las escaleras no son muy comodas. Especialmente para bajar las maletas. Fuera de eso, muuy recomendado.

Ocean dream is in a good location close to all amenities the only down side was the lifts where temperamental with only one working and sometimes this lift was broken too...luckily we was only on the 3rd floor, but if you have mobility issues this could be a problem. The staff are very nice and friendly and the property was very clean.

The pool was clean and my kids really enjoyed playing there. The ocean was beautiful the view was spectacular, I loved waking up and the beautiful ocean view being the first thing I see.

Great beach scene with DJ. Pool was beautiful and loved the outside seating area by the swings. Roque is a great bartender and the front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. I would love the toilets to work easier in the rooms. The beach staff don’t work as a team. I had to wait 30 minutes for my dedicated server to come clean cups from another party after I requested they be moved by another server. Just seemed like a lack of customer service not to just grab the glasses and wipe off the table so I could use it right away.

The outside of this hotel and pool area were kept very updated and clean. We had a room on the main floor, PB5, and it was very outdated and in need of repairs. The kitchen had four bowls, plates, cups and a few cooking pans as well as small stovetop and microwave. There were no kitchen towels and no way to wash your dishes. When we asked, they said we would have to go buy all those supplies. The nightstand was broken off the wall, mold around caulk in shower, the toilet leaked water on the floor daily, the air conditioner blew in sand (may need a new filter) so there was a fine layer of sand on every surface minutes after wiping it down. You got beach towels which could not be exchanged pool side but only when housekeeping cleaned your room so you had to leave them in there. The LOUD thumping pool side music started at 7am and never stopped until 8-9pm every day. It was so loud out by the pool and beach you could never use earbuds for your own phone/music or nap. It was like being in a super loud club all day. Several days they started power washing the pool deck outside our room at 7am too. Not relaxing. No workout room. The pool side employees were very nice and helpful. We did not eat there so no review of restaurant. I am not sure if all the rooms were like ours. It was a great location. Easy walk to grocery store and near restaurants and convenience marts. Location is a big plus but rooms need TLC. or at least ours did. And again the outside/pool areas were very nice.

El lugar es pequeño, pero muy lindo, la playa es espectacular! Tienen buen mantenimiento en las albercas pero los elevadores una pesadilla, ninguno servia! Tuvimos que usar el de servicio y benia bastante lleno, el personal en general amable, pero muy estrictos con las tarjetas de la habitación asi que no las pierdan!

Music by the pool area and beach can be lowered

This is my 3rd time starting at Ocean dreams and every time is exceptional service. Room was clean and beautiful ocean view. The staff was very attentive and very friendly. Definitely will be booking again with ocean dreams.

The staff was really nice but our room was dirty. We had a penthouse suite and it was filty. Glad I only spent one night there.

No estaba limpia , el lavamanos estaba tapado y en general tenía un olor desagradable

On arrival, my room door did not open and close properly. The shower head was dirty and needs to be cleaned off. There was a lizard in our room that needed to be removed. Lastly, the room had roach. The front desk gave me an issue with changing my room. Finally after complaining further, they changed my room. The next room sheets had stains on them from last guest maybe spelling stuff on them. Horrible experience. I asked for a manager and was told there were not on the property. I asked for a name to call later, the front desk receptionist told me they could not give me the managers name. I later called and recurved no answer nor did Expedia get a answer at the hotel when they called for me.

The room was absolutely filthy. Dirty floor, blood on sheets, peeling wall paper, very little pressure in the hot tub/bath- it took 3 hours to fill it. Not joking. Rude staff at the beach club, told us the club was closed when we arrived at 4pm. Then said it closed at 4:30, only after speaking with a manager were we told the beach club closed at 5pm and that we could sit on the bean bags until 5. Location is fantastic but that’s about it.

Rude personal, lost a whole day of not getting out to enjoy pool, pool was disgusting. Workers mention they haven’t had a pool cleaner in 3 weeks. Will Never go back

They don’t have rags to take showers and they was so much roaches

At checking the front desk asked me to pay for additional tourism tax that was not disclosed in their advertisement. I felt like I was getting scammed. The bathroom shower head was broken, the shower was clogged and the bathroom ceiling had mold in it. The location of this hotel is just amazing.

Beautiful view and wakable distance to the beach. Pool was always clean. Staff were very friendly. Safe place to ve with family.

Our room was absolutely amazing! Getting an ocean view was the best decision ever because all of that nice sea breeze blew through the big sliding doors and you didn’t need ac. I would definitely come back!

Beds are rock hard.

I love the location, night clubs, restaurants and Chedraui (supermarket) walkable distance. The staff was very friendly. The only thing that I did not like was the tv signal, it was hard to get it to work.

Stayed in a “Double Room King Bed - Ocean View” Pros: - Large room with comfy bed, safe, large closet, gorgeous ocean view (5th floor). - AMAZING beach!! White sand, turquoise water. Most of our stay the beach had a yellow caution flag for some waves but still felt really safe to swim (red flag went up at night until the morning, and stayed up on our last day). - Bean bags on the beach were great, super comfy and we could move them around to be more or less in the shade. - Very nice pools, swim up bar staff and drinks were great. - Excellent location, short walk to lots of great food with vegan options (we loved Casa Tequila, Mayan Monkey, La Boulangerie, Tacos Los Chachalocos, Capri Pizzeria Moderna), convenience stores, grocery store, and a ferry terminal (less frequent ferries, but good to get to and from Isla Mujeres). Medium: - Could hear people in the rooms beside, above us, and in the hall. Not much of an issue, wore earplugs a couple of nights. - Blanket was too thin (a matter of preference). - Pools were slightly cold (another matter of preference, my husband loved them, I would have preferred heated). Cons: - No wash cloths. - Toiletries were sub par quality. Hand soap and body wash appeared to be the same thing in different bottles (and scented, not my fav). Shampoo & conditioner combo wasn’t very good. - Shower drain smelled bad and bathroom sink/counter area was a little grimy. - Minimal drawers for clothes/other items.

Good location and great views from the Ocean Dream. Though the condition of our room needed further improvement. TV did not work and latch on balcony sliding door was broken - it made the stay feel uneasy, as it would have been quite easy for someone to break the door open and get into our room from the ground floor. I told reception about the issue with the door; they said that someone would fix it - but no one did. This needs to be addressed!

Quarto espaçoso, equipe bem educada e cordial. A vista é espetacular, sendo possível ver o nascer do sol (fiquei do lado da vista para a praia). A localização é muito boa também, perto de restaurantes, pé na areia e supermercados

Clean room, 5 gallon hot water heater (short showers), great view, we ate breakfast here(it was good) super close and walking distance to almost anything you'd need. Only issue was being told we to had to pay more for taxes that weren't charged... That wasn't in the writing Beds were hard...

It was like a Motel Six with a gorgeous view. The room was spacious but wvwrything was really old. Tou can tell rhey teied to renovate it but paint was peeling and the hot water tank was in the bathroom. The shower dis not get hot. The beds were very firm. You could hear everything foing on outside and on the street. Did'nt get any sleep. The rooms weren't insulated veey well. You could hear everything your neighbors did. The hottub did not workalso.

Check in staff was very unpleasant. security was rude. hotel is outdated. toilets barely work.

Staff was amazing, hotel was clean, rooms were clean and we felt safe at all times. Very close to night life entertainment

I didn't like that I was forced to wait until the 3 pm check-in, even though the rooms were cleaned and ready. This is especially burdensome when you fly overnight, arrive at 7:30 in the morning, and then have to wait for your room to unpack, unwind, and begin your vacation. We asked several times if the room was ready and were told to come back at 3 pm check-in time. We could see the paperwork all lined up and ready for check-in, so why not let people into the rooms once they're ready? This made for a stressful first day of vacation. We also had someone in our party with special dietary needs, so we had some of our own snacks packed. When snacking at the pool, a staff member approached us and told us we couldn't have outside snacks at the pool. That meant we were forced to only order the resort food and snacks, which the person in our party could not eat. So we had to leave the pool area to eat our snacks. Very inconvenient and unnecessary.

Location is great, staff is alright. The layout is nice, close to the beach. I was charged a $20 penalty fee for not having my room key upon check-out... if I didn't pay, they wouldn't let me exit, very uncomfortable (all for a plastic card). We were 3 people and shared cards. Oddly, I was not informed of this policy upon check-in, shocking. Also, was upcharged for a drink the bartender offered to make (off menu)... and that was the last drink I purchased. It's fine here, just beware of the fine print fees everywhere and ask questions.

Friendly staffs, great cleaning services and options to swim in pool or beach. We highly recommend it and love to come back

La ubicación es excelente, pero el trato del personal de recepción está pésimo! Te hablan mal, ni te dejan terminar la pregunta cuando te interrumpen. El check in no empieza a las 3 pm, es hasta que ellos digan, si eres mexicano te tratan mal, si eres extranjero súper bien. Cabe mencionar que acostumbraba quedarme en este hotel pero su atención decayó muchísimo.

Great place to stay. This property is on the beach and the staff was excellent and very professional. The location is right in the heart of town. So much to do and so easy to get the bus to other places for 12 pesos. I will definitely stay there again.

Ocean Dreams is a fantastic location. Proximity to groceries, restaurants, nightlife and beaches is perfect. We loved the pools, easy beach access and easy-going staff. Our kitchenette room made for easy homemade breakfasts. Really, we loved our stay at Ocean Dreams.

We stayed at the penthouse suite. The views were beautiful, and when they came in to clean, it was done well. However, when we were checking out, the girl at the counter was beyond rude and disrespectful. She clearly did not want to help us check out, and her attitude showed it. The penthouse suite also had poor water pressure, and the shower door in one bathroom would not close. Location is great customer service needed some work. The girl at the girl at the information center was nice, helpful and polite.

Bien todo , únicos detalles te cobran impuestos al salir pensando uno que ya está liquidado la totalidad. Pero para costo calidad muy bueno

The property is near Coco Bongo, many restaurants and places to shop for just about anything you need. The check-in process was quick and easy. I arrived in the late evening, so that could be the reason. I can't speak for any other times during the daytime hours. My room was perfect, a nice ocean view room 109. The beds were not comfortable. I slept on pillows, they were softer than the mattress. The TV would not connect, maintenance came right away that evening but he could not figure it out. The next day, a different maintenance guy came and fixed it, but it was not consistent. I didn't watch TV but would like to have it on for the sound and to learn some additional Spanish words. Not a big deal, but just know it could be a small issue. The hot water was not working, and he fixed it while he was in the room. The restaurant food was okay. I didnt each much there but what I had it was just okay. The pools are beautiful, the drinks are good a nice variety of top-shelf liquor of my liking. The staff was nice, they spoke good English, and very professional and helpful. Overall, it's a decent hotel, but they were doing construction during business hours. It's not a 5-star place, but budget-friendly and has easy access to many things that Cancun has to offer.

me and my family stayed here for three nights, and everyone was very nice. we liked the food, and the drinks. the hotel itself is nice it’s not super modern but it was good for us. we loved the pool and how close it was to the beach. the only thing we have complains about is our hotel room bathroom only had one door for the shower, so the water was falling everywhere. and the cleaning of the room that we asked for was not the best but that’s not something major just little things

Love the pool and the swings/hammocks but the hours of operation for the swim up bar was weird and not convenient. Loved the access to the beach and the food at the in house restaurant.

If your going to cancun and want to be centered this is a good location. the seaweed really put a damper on the trip. for all of the MONEY we spent on transportation to and from the airport. Because they DO NOT OFFER A FREE SHUTTLE. The beach should have been a lot cleaner. They do not offer free breakfast. Well actually nothing is free in cancun. you get taken/ nickel and dimed for ever and anything imaginable. I won’t be going back to cancun. The hotel is in a good location for nightlife. other then that. save your cash and go to an ALL INCLUSIVE.

PERFECT BEACH VIEW, STAYED A WEEK- NO COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST BUT THEY HAVE A RESTAURANT ON SITE THAT SELLS FOOD ALL DAY SO NO PROBLEM.......CLEAN AND REFRESHING FACILITY WITH EXTREMELY HELPFUL STAFF

The location can't be beat. You're right on the beach and near a bus stop. We enjoyed the beach area and the pool but found the drinks at the pool bar to be a little overpriced. It was unfortunate that they don't allow outside drinks as we ended up spending less time on the property just to avoid the drink prices.

Every thing was good the room ,close to the pool area and beach front the only thing was the service at the beach club they didn’t let me eat my chips there because I didn’t buy them with they even that we buy multiple drinks and ceviches,that’s why I took off one star ,other than that everything was great the room was always clean .

Restaurant is not good. Go off campus, lots of places around.

Pros, location is great near all the night live if that's your thing, but also direct beach access. Our room was ground level with direct access to one of the pools and the beach was less than a minute walk away. Cons are that restaurants in the property lack variety and prices are way to high. Property is not new and in some aspects it shows it age, at least everything worked las expected. Personnel is very attentive. By the way someone stole my kid's crocks in the pool. So there's that
