Our stay began with an incredibly friendly and welcoming David offering us an early check-in and breakfast (we were exhausted from the flight/ time change so this was awesome!!) The building has very interesting history and details throughout the building. David and the staff made our stay memorable and so comfortable. We highly recommend this property for your trip. The hotel is a renovated historic structure. Very beautiful. Expect small rooms ( only 5 in total) and tiny bathrooms. Small hiccup with hot water was addressed in one day. Very small and intimate breakfast area that was very quiet and distinctly different than what you get in large hotels. If you like quiet this is the place.

Great location and friendly helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Sitting areas inside and out with very pretty garden and original features inside. Minutes from many nice restaurants and all of the tourist attractions of Ponta Delgada.

We had a wonderful stay! Our room had everything we needed, including our own terrace overlooking the square and its two churches. Breakfast everyday was an absolute delight! The food was delicious, fresh, and abundant. The staff members and owner were so friendly and accommodating and always shared knowledge about activities and other things we might like to do. Parking was our only concern, but there was ample paid parking (4-5€ per day) on the square or there were two free parking areas that we also used that were about an 8-10 minute walk.

The unique atmosphere of living in the really old, authentic monastery-like place, but with the best smell ever, modern bathrooms, most comfortable bed and crispiest bedding I’ve ever had among multiple hotels on my very long trip around several countries. It’s on the big plaza, close to main cathedral (if you don’t mind bells), fort, now military museum, waterfront, small eating places, and might be important to those who want to rent a car, it is right next door to it. Breakfast is more than adequate, comfortable common area with couches, chairs, fireplace (can’t guarantee not for decor only), but overall the place has a feeling of boutique house, not real hotel. Only 5 rooms, 2 upstairs with no elevator though, and have to check in online with the approximate time of arrival, as the front door is locked and stuff member is not always inside to open as there’s no so-to-speak front desk. That’s the only inconvenience imho, but adds to the feeling of the real home. Very-very impressed and would highly recommend for certain type of tourists who don’t like big chain hotels.

Casa do Campo de São Francisco is a perfect place to stay in Ponta Delgada. It's location is excellent; close to many restaurants, shopping and the waterfront and a convenient starting point for exploring the island.The hotel is an historic buidling and is beautifully decorated. The rooms are very large with comfortable beds and a sitting area. The breakfast is excellent and cooked by the hotel's friendly host and served in the beautiful dining/ sitting room overlooking the garden. Parking is right in front of the hotel and free after 7pm until 8am (60 cent euro/ hour otherwise). We loved our 4 night stay in this beautiful and unique 5 room hotel. We highly recommend!!

Large, quirky but well appointed room with a mix of modern furnishings and period antiques. Beds could have been better but were useable. Sleeping area seemed a bit damp as it was on the ground floor. The full sized dining table, sofa and spacious bathroom with separate shower closet were nice. Some of the fixtures and finishes in the bathroom were showing their wear and could use a refresh. Shower was hot with good pressure. Drain backed up a little while showering but it did not create a problem. I think because it was small for the volume of water produced by the shower head. The breakfast was good variety and good quality, but not as plentiful as perhaps it could be. Coffee tasted like instant though it was in a thermo pot. The staff were all very kind and helpful. They added warmth to an old and stately property. The large and well appointed living room was a nice area to spend some quiet moments in contemplation or just checking emails using the free WiFi which was good for uploading and posting photos of the beautiful architecture in the surrounding neighborhood.

Bel hébergement chaleureux et bien situé. Manque grandement d'isolation dans les murs. On entend tout ce qui se passe dans les chambres. De plus, les dejeuners sont supposé etre servie a 8h mais il ne sont jamais pret a cette erreur. Cela nous a causé des retards dans notre planning, notamment la derniere journée où aucun employé n'était encore dans la cuisine a notre depart a 8h40. Nous avons du acheter un dejeuner ailleurs.

Happy that we stayed at this property. It was as pictured and advertised. There was a hiccup at check-in, so probably best to contact them with exact flight details to ensure someone is there to receive you. Very charming space, and location worked out great for us. The unique atmosphere of living in the really old, authentic monastery-like place, but with the best smell ever, modern bathrooms, most comfortable bed and crispiest bedding I’ve ever had among multiple hotels on my very long trip around several countries. It’s on the big plaza, close to main cathedral (if you don’t mind bells), fort, now military museum, waterfront, small eating places, and might be important to those who want to rent a car, it is right next door to it. Breakfast is more than adequate, comfortable common area with couches, chairs, fireplace (can’t guarantee not for decor only), but overall the place has a feeling of boutique house, not real hotel. Only 5 rooms, 2 upstairs with no elevator though, and have to check in online with the approximate time of arrival, as the front door is locked and stuff member is not always inside to open as there’s no so-to-speak front desk. That’s the only inconvenience imho, but adds to the feeling of the real home. Very-very impressed and would highly recommend for certain type of tourists who don’t like big chain hotels.

Tasty breakfast, eggs cooked to order, fruits, ham, prosciutto, salami, cheeses, coffee freshly made, Keurig, teas, you can lace your beverage with Porto (fortified Portuguese wine). David, the manager, was very kind, always ready to please, let us check out later, let our luggage in the room. That was great.

Awesome little boutique hotel built into what looks like a former chapel. Great location in the heart of the City Centre. Within walking distance to everything. Breakfast was very good.. In addition to the fact that hotel is gorgeous what made it even more pleasant was thar there is a really friendly dog there. Named Maria! Which stays outside of course. Recommended.

Very nice place to stay in a unique, old building that was a part of a church. The rooms and bathrooms are newly renovated. It is close to everything and very walkable location. Taxi is 10 Euro from the airport. There is a pleasant park in front to sit out and have a beverage. Good breakfast. And most of all Philippe is the best at the front, very kind and helpful. If I may come back I definitely stay here again.

It's location is excellent; close to many restaurants, shopping and the waterfront and a convenient starting point for exploring the island.The hotel is an historic buidling and is beautifully decorated. The rooms are very large with comfortable beds and a sitting area. The breakfast is excellent and cooked by the hotel's friendly host and served in the beautiful dining/ sitting room overlooking the garden. Parking is right in front of the hotel and free after 7pm until 8am (60 cent euro/ hour otherwise). We loved our 4 night stay in this beautiful and unique 5 room hotel. We highly recommend!!

Happy that we stayed at this property. It was as pictured and advertised. There was a hiccup at check-in, so probably best to contact them with exact flight details to ensure someone is there to receive you. Very charming space, and location worked out great for us. Breakfast is offered, and offering is great and sufficient. Highly recommend.

The hotel is a renovated historic structure. Very beautiful. Expect small rooms ( only 5 in total) and tiny bathrooms. Small hiccup with hot water was addressed in one day. Very small and intimate breakfast area that was very quiet and distinctly different than what you get in large hotels. If you like quiet this is the place.

Bel hébergement chaleureux et bien situé. Manque grandement d'isolation dans les murs. On entend tout ce qui se passe dans les chambres. De plus, les dejeuners sont supposé etre servie a 8h mais il ne sont jamais pret a cette erreur. Cela nous a causé des retards dans notre planning, notamment la derniere journée où aucun employé n'était encore dans la cuisine a notre depart a 8h40. Nous avons du acheter un dejeuner ailleurs.

Our second visit and it reconfirmed our opinion that this is an excellent boutique hotel in a beautiful building, huge spacious room and modern bathroom Hotel sits on a large quiet square. Our flight from Terceira was delayed by 11 hours and we finally arrived at 00.30hrs to be met by the ever cheerful owner. There is a Lively upstairs sitting room with views over the square Generous breakfast with high quality food We will stay here again

A small boutique hotel in a beautiful old building. We had a large room with a small balcony overlooking an attractive but quiet square. The breakfast was generous and of good quality. The hotel is a very short walk to the centre of town and an ideal base for a short visit. Very glad we chose to stay there again at the end of our island hopping trip.
