The Collector Inn - Adults Only

We stayed here five years ago. Loved it! We splurged to go here again ($1300 for two weekend nights). Our experience was very different. The mood was glum. Except for the bartender and one of the valets, no one smiled or went out of their way to be helpful or welcoming. We found the service at chain hotels to be more friendly. The gardens and pool remain the same, pretty. The suite was very clean, but some of the furniture is showing wear. Parking is by valet and inconvenient. Every time we needed something from the car, we needed to call the valet. The parking lot is quite a ways away. Breakfast was nice but cold the second day. Maybe this was a one-off, but it is enough to send us to another hotel next time.

The Collector Inn is located off a quiet little street, not far from downtown. Our room was clean and we were pleased with how updated it was. They even had snacks and a couple sodas in the mini fridge for us. We had a drink from The Well after dinner and sat by one of the outdoor firepits. Breakfast was good with several options and we enjoyed riding around town on the complimentary bikes. We will definitely stay here again and have already recommended to friends!

Very happy with our stay here. The property is beautiful including the onsite bar, grounds, and restored historical homes. They offer complementary valet so there is no need to search for parking in downtown St Augustine (which can be a pain). And best of all the service was amazing. Savannah was so warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

This is a truly unique property! It was amazing having a quiet private garden compound of 9 historic properties that have been beautifully refurbished. The salt pool was lovely. Nice to have complementary breakfast on property. As well as the option for an evening drink at The Well or outdoor fire pit. The fact that it’s adults only makes it an even more special & relaxing experience. And it is walkable to many restaurants, shopping & historic attractions. Can’t wait to come back!

Lovely property and central to everything we wanted to do in St. Augustine. Breakfast could have used a few more options and variety as we were there for a week, but overall it was fine. The beauty and tranquil (mostly) made up for the breakfast. The “elevator” music playing by the pool and outside the bar all day long until after 10 at night got old after awhile. The gardens were beautiful and well arranged and our suite was very comfortable. So glad we picked this place to stay for the entire time.

Our first stay at the Collector and it will not be our last. The best location, specialized service and super friendly and attentive staff. The area is amazing and the well bar onsite has the best curated drinks. This is our new spot to stay in St Augustine

Excellent location, absolutely no need for a car, we loved the Well in the evenings and met some really incredible people. Our stay at The Collector was absolutely unparalleled. My husband and I considered it a best of the best experiences!! We will be back.

The property was fine, much simpler looking than what displayed on pics, but ok. The room we got had broken heater, and was running cold air only. For a while there we felt like we were sleeping outside- it was this cold in the room. Someone from front desk came to check on it, apologized and said he doesn’t know why it’s not working and opening a service request for the following day. On top of that, every time someone in the same cottage was using/flashing a toilet- a toilet in our room was making strange loud noises. We also ended up unplugging a little mini fridge for the night since it was working very loudly. For the money we paid for this room (close to $700 per night) - it was a disaster. Definitely will not be back. On a checkout no-one even asked how our stay was.

I really didn’t like the fact that housekeeping left our room door open all day! Nothing was taken fortunately, but, having notified management, their response was “have a glass of wine on us”. Gee, thanks, how unprofessional. Security should be a high priority and they dropped the ball and made NO effort to make amends. Sad

Great location. Room fine, bathroom floor dirty but plenty of hot water!. Only 1 chair in the room, should have been 2. Breakfast lovely, but inadequate seating indoors/outdoors for inclement weather. Obviously understaffed for breakfast...no spoons, no bacon,(delicious bacon , by the way) no coffee when we arrived. Was remedied Staff friendly, great valet service.

Excellent customer service and the property is well kept and the lush landscape is gorgeous.

Overpriced. $600 a night and pay extra for a latte at breakfast (goes well with the stale croissants)? Peeling paint in room… So so reception.

We stayed here for our wedding weekend. The staff was so kind and accommodating. This property is in a great location. It is close enough to historic downtown to walk but away enough that it’s quiet. Our room was beautiful and clean. The valet staff was incredible and so helpful. One of our favorite places to stay in St. Augustine.

We stayed at the Collector Inn Feb 2024 it was our first time visiting Sarasota. we stayed in the Worcester building, the room was a good size and included a small kitchenette with a nespresso machine and a refrigerator and microwave. The grounds on the property were so beautiful. Little courtyards and gardens everywhere and all beautifully maintained. The staff was friendly, helpful and very accommodating… they all seem to take pride in the property and it shows. If you go, make sure you take the tour of the property to learn about its history. The location was super walkable yet a little out of the downtown area so it was quieter ..it’s a great place, we would not hesitate to go back again!

Our first time staying here but we’ve taken trips to St Augustine before. This time we were coming for Night of Lights and wanted somewhere convenient to shops, restaurants, river and decorations and it was easily walkable to all of the above. Plus, the room was cozy, the bathroom clean (borderline) luxurious-feeling. And the staff was extremely hospitable, from lobby to valet. A nice surprise was the humble but delicious breakfast spread the following morning. 5 stars.

The most comfortable bed I have ever experienced!

The pool was amazing, the bat was delightful. The room was cozy and comfortable. The place is just charming!

I liked the property however I did NOT like how I was not giving any of my VIP amenities. I asked for a room upgrade and was denied and was given the smallest room on property. They claimed the bed was a queen but it was more like a Full. For a 6'6 man this was extremely uncomfortable and I did not sleep well. I asked the front desk to please change me room after the first night of not sleeping and they were not willing to accomodate. Very disappointed especially since I was suppose to get upgraded to begin with.

We loved the property! It did get a little noisy with housekeeping above us but the houses are old.

This was not our first stay here. We've previously visited in summer. We visited St Augustine this time to take in Christmas. The Inn was very lacking in Holiday decorations. The room we stayed in had no headboard and pillows kept falling behind the bed. Additionally there were no USB plugs. No hotel room today should be without. We'll probably stay again but not at Christmas.

This place was beyond expectation in terms of its overall charm. The staff was always available and extremely helpful. The only draw back was the thin walls between rooms. The grounds are well kept and the breakfast included many choices. The location is perfect for anyone interested in exploring the historic area by foot.

Our stay was mostly great. The biggest problem was that the walls of the room are paper thin and we heard our neighbors on both sides at all hours of the night and morning. It was incredibly intrusive and we felt we didn't have any privacy, not to mention it was disturbing our sleep and annoying to listen to.

Amazing property in St. Augustine, full of history and charm. An Inn with all the perks of a luxury property, personalized check in, comfy rooms and great staff. Located close enough to all buzz of Downtown St. Augustine and far enough to have serenity and peace.

The check in was very disappointing. The gentleman didn’t explain the amenities and I found out towards the end of my trip about many of them. He was in a hurry. The rest of the staff was helpful and kind.

This hotel was nice however, very unorganized and poorly managed. Upon arrival, the front desk had no idea which rooms had been cleaned or not, so check in took over 30 mins. Later when I returned from dinner my key card would not open my room. A very nice front desk lady Louise helped me go back and fourth several times trying to get the my door open. Eventually, after about 30 mins, I had to stay in a different room with none of my items. No toothbrush, pajamas, etc. In the morning a man came to unlock my door so I could retrieve my belongings, the manager of the hotel Charlie Robles was very rude to me and acted like he was inconvenienced. Charlie offered no apology until I verbally told him he should be apologizing to me for being extremely uncomfortable with non of my items. When I asked for a refund he told me begrudgingly “It’s been taken care of” I asked what he had done to rectify this very unprofessional and uncomfortable situation and he told me he had refunded the $35 charge for both the rooms I rented at the hotel for my colleague and I. Totaling in $70. I think the way I was treated by Charlie was absolutely atrocious, and being that I am also in hospitality management I would recommend this hotel hire a more capable and empathetic hotel manager. Further, I would expect to be refunded for my full stay for my room, that I was not able to spend anytime in, being that I arrived late in the day and had no time to relax after dinner. Will not be returning.

We had a wonderful stay! The accommodations were very comfortable and very clean. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and always eager to assist in anyway. The grounds were beautiful old brick walks with gardens and fountains. The atmosphere of the property was very restful and soothing.

I’m a seasoned traveler who tends to try various kinds of lodging, always looking for unique places. I have to say that this ranks in the top of my list of great places to stay! The ambience of the property is so welcoming. Every staff member that I encountered was friendly, polite and helpful. The location to area attractions is unbeatable. My only regret is that I didn’t stay longer! This will definitely be a place I will return to in the future.

Wonderful stay. It was our first vacation without children, very quiet, easy walk to most tourist spots except the old jail. We bought tickets for the hop on/ off trolley and enjoyed the 1:20 ride to see everything. One side of the property runs along George St, so just a few mins to the thick of it. Would love to visit again.

Beautiful property with a lot of history. We really enjoyed a free historical tour offered several times a week. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My only advice for the management is to improve breakfast quality. It’s solid but lacks the options for this type of inn.

In short, this is a wonderful, unique property with an amazing history. We did the free tour of the property, which was very interesting and had a lovely, personal touch. (Stay there to find out more). The only tiny down-side was their high bar (alcohol) prices. Drink elsewhere or bring your own.

Absolutely amazing place to stay! Great amenities, fabulous staff (beyond top notch), and super close to everywhere! Loved our stay here and will absolutely be back! The property is flawless and the pool/bar area is a great place to hang out after a day of activities. The breakfast is amazing and the rooms are very clean & comfortable! Can’t say enough about this place!
