The van driver was THE ONLY positive thing about the motel! There was mold in the bathroom, pubic hairs on the “clean towels”, pubic hairs in the shower! Mold in shower, mold on shower curtain, stains on blinds and they didn't work! A/c worked nicely. Breakfast was nasty and cold and cereal was very stale! Front desk was ok (2 people) but most were extremely rude and unpleasant and wouldn't answer questions. It seemed to be a bother to them from sitting there laughing amongst themselves! The van driver was exceptional and super friendly and gave very helpful tips about the St Patry’s events. The elevator cert was expired 2 years ago!! Other than that there is absolutely no way I would ever stay there again! Pay the extra money and stay downtown! Or near the airport! Do not stay at the Iris!!! Gross!!!!

The property was quiet during my 4 night stay. Staff was friendly and always greeted me when I came back to the hotel. The property is near a grocery store which was convenient. Unfortunately, my fridge was broken and moldy (would not get cold). So I was limited on purchase options. Also, I noticed that the elevator permit was expired by more than 1 year and it made a weird sound every time I stepped in. The property did have a breakfast option (hot meals on weekend) but the juices weren’t kept in a temp safe container. This resulted in the OJ expiring and fermenting. I stuck to making waffles each day since I knew they would be cooked correctly. The only other complaint was that the Wi-Fi was spotty at times.

All we heard was doors slamming all night long. Ice machine on the 3rd floor is broken. They sell absolutely nothing on site, water or soda etc. which is fine but the vending machine should take more than cash. It’s 2024.

We stayed 3 nights, Wednesday to Saturday, staff was excellent! They have weekend shuttle service starting Friday which saved us $30-$40 AND happy hour Friday & Saturday 5pm to 8pm, free wine/beer and cheese and crackers …. Unbelievable, it was great!

I stayed at Iris Garden Inn from June 12–14 and was very disappointed. The lobby had a strong, unpleasant odor upon arrival. The front desk staff was unprofessional and untrained, and my reservation had been incorrectly checked in under someone else. It took multiple calls to a manager just to resolve the issue. The hotel felt unsafe, with people loitering in cars in the parking lot. Only one service elevator was working, and its inspection was expired (last checked in 2024). My room had a musty smell, was hot upon entry, and I found a dead roach behind the TV. It felt like the room hadn’t been inspected or used in a while. None of the ice machines worked on the 2nd or 3rd floors, and the vending area on the 1st floor was out of order too. I was beyond frustrated by that point. Staff were rarely visible, and checking out was difficult due to a language barrier. The photos online were misleading. I understand budget hotels come with limitations, but cleanliness, safety, and basic service should still be expected. I was relieved to only be staying two nights.

I have never complained about a stay before but this time is a must. STAY AWAY. They lie on description ( like having a pool and they filled it in), rooms smell like smoke and animals. Took four rooms to find one that didn’t stink. AC was stuck on snow, no display and temp buttons didn’t work so couldn’t warm it up, no curtains or blinds that worked, bathroom sheets were not clean. People had tv blaring at 3:30am and people outside in parking lot next to window drinking and cursing all night, no vending machines to get water. Had to drive 8 miles at midnight to find bottled water. No sleep. The property photos were done to make hotel nicer ( I am a photographer so I know the difference. It was dirty, no amenities and the staff and owner couldn’t care less.

The location to downtown and river street perfect! 7-12 min drive during the construction that was going on. Hotel has free shuttle to downtown. The shopping plaza next door to the hotel has a restaurant, shoe store, grocery store. Hotel is 36 minutes from Tybee Island, but if you are catching an uber/lyft leave the beach at daylight. It took almost an hour for a driver to accept our ride.

This our second time to stay at the Iris Garden Inn in Garden City/Savannah. Our daughter is a student at SCAD and in the past we always stayed at short term rentals in the north historic district. Last year we traveled with our dog to pick up our daughter for summer break and stayed at the Iris Garden Inn because they allow pets. We were pleasantly surprised at the newness and cleanliness of the inn and our room as well as the friendly and very helpful staff. Plus it had a large parking lot and grassy areas for walking our dog. This year no dog but booked again because we liked the convenience. It is close to the historic district (5 to 10 minute drive) and you don’t have the headache of hunting 15 minutes for an overnight pay to park space.

I had a two day stay but after no way of purchasing a drink cause machine was out of order on top people being loud all night long kids running down hallway paper thin walls dirty sink and tub. Tub stopper wouldn’t screw in so no way of taking a bath and after waking up first night with bed bugs bite all over me my husband and I packed our stuff up and left. Before leaving we looked at the mattress and it literally looked like someone had a bloody mess. GROSS

Unfortunately, this placed smelled like Marijuana as soon as we arrived. 1st room was not clean. Feces on the toilet. Front desk switched rooms. 2nd room was a bigger disaster. Broken shower and drain issue. Bathroom fan hanging from ceiling. Room was musty, bed linen dirty and hair present. Dont waste your time or money. Better off to sleep in your car.

Bed was clean and comfortable but the pillow were terribly lumpy. The rest of the room we had to sanitize what we could and tried not to touch anything else. If we hadn’t had a midnight arrival we would not have stayed at this property. Those who have rated it as exceptional have very poor standards. Stains on the carpets, walls, and furnishings. Dust on the doors and walls. The hotel lobby and breakfast area are beautifully redone but completely misrepresent the condition of the rooms which is really most important for a clean, healthy, relaxing, and comfortable stay. The breakfast area is the only space in the hotel that smells musty due to moisture control issues apparent by the extreme condensation on the windows. Breakfast is a risk at best. Juice looks like it’s been there too long and is possibly fermenting at this point. They also offer cereal with no milk, muffins, a waffle maker with no batter, and a carafe of coffee that really looks like it needs a good exterior cleaning. Spend $30 more and stay elsewhere.

Spotless rooms! Great breakfast selection and efficient front desk. I even noticed the staff scrubbing clean all the A/C units. That's a win for us allergy suffers. The location doesn't offer much at walking distance but beautiful Savannah is a short drive away. Will stay here again!

Probably the worst place I’ve ever stayed—cleanliness is clearly not a priority. There was a gross smell throughout the building; our room in particular smelled like smoke with another gross scent. Bathroom had mold and mildew and overall was not clean. Suspicious yellow stain on the mattress topper under the sheets. Pretty disgusting overall, definitely not worth the money.

Walls were REALLY thin. I could hear complete conversations with the people next door when they were talking at normal volumes. Toilet was kinda broken. Stayed here previously, but the experience was not as good this time.

The exterior of the hotel looks like it was just refreshed. The lobby looks good too. The room was old and dated with paint missing/peeling. The bathroom looked good and the water pressure in the tub was excellent but when you turned on the shower, the water just dribbled out. It was barely enough to rinse your body.

Property doesn’t look like the pictures on Expedia. The complimentary body wash in the shower wasn’t filled up/completely empty, the floor of the shower wasn’t cleaned, pillow cases on one side of our king bed where very damp/wet… someone who works for the hotel knocked on our door at 11:30pm at night and asked us when we were checking out the next day… very inappropriate especially when they know when people have to check out by. Very very unpleased and IS NOT worth $160 per night.

This property is about a 10 minute drive to the down town Savanah. The lobby and breakfast area is clean. The rooms however are small. They do not offer any doble rooms with queen beds. Also the sheets were stained as well as the toilets

I just wrote out my terrible experience with the only staff member there. She wasn’t busy, but implied I was an idiot because the tv remote wouldn’t work. It clearly needed reprogramming…. Finally switched rooms to fix. Never a smile, thank you, just “they work on this TV”. Really an awful person who should work back of house jobs, not in front!!

Came into the lobby, desk attendant did not acknowledge us verbally or even with a smile. Check in and learned that our room had a broken window shade, refrigerator broken, air vent in bath broken. Had to go downstairs because no one answered front desk phone. Desk attendant was rude to other people checking in. I was offered a new room; however no “sorry for the inconvenience” was given. Once I changed rooms and I came back downstairs to put away the roll cart, there was no follow through to make sure I was happy with the new room. New room had working items but the bath tub was just dirty and you could tell the room had not been used in awhile with all the dust on the lamps. New room had no phone, broken clock and the charging plugs in the head lamps also didn’t work. The hallways smelled musty and you can tell cheap products were used to make it look like it’s a higher end/modern look. Haven’t tried the shower to see if there is hot water, we shall see.

The hotel was clean well enough to pass, but the customer service was very poor. The overnight clerk wasn’t very friendly and had a I don’t really care are want to be here. It’s just a job attitude. The $50 deposit wasn’t very clear and didn’t understand why it wasn’t include with the online payment? The reservation wasn’t handle properly and was put in ass a day lost, but I was there the night of the reservation, but the overnight night clerk didn’t communicate with the online services, she stated that she wasn’t going to open the reservation because we didn’t have the deposit and that the day could be pushed back to another day, but the following day it only came up for one day only and the day before was considered has a no show, although I was there at the time I had made the two night’s reservation. I wasn’t Conversed for my troubles just on ain’t nothing I can do you just have to take a loss! Very unfair and unprofessional for a hospitality business!

Positive experience overall! Check-in was quick and easy. We did encounterd an issue with the room's fridge not working. The staff deserves praise here – upon informing them, they promptly arranged for a replacement fridge with no fuss. Their responsiveness and focus on fixing the problem significantly enhanced our stay and left a very good impression.

This our second time to stay at the Iris Garden Inn in Garden City/Savannah. Our daughter is a student at SCAD and in the past we always stayed at short term rentals in the north historic district. Last year we traveled with our dog to pick up our daughter for summer break and stayed at the Iris Garden Inn because they allow pets. We were pleasantly surprised at the newness and cleanliness of the inn and our room as well as the friendly and very helpful staff. Plus it had a large parking lot and grassy areas for walking our dog. This year no dog but booked again because we liked the convenience. It is close to the historic district (5 to 10 minute drive) and you don’t have the headache of hunting 15 minutes for an overnight pay to park space.

We found the staff to be very unfriendly. After checking we noticed that the elevator was passed inspection by 5 months and had an electrical smell when in use. Our room was on the second floor near the stairwell. Around 4 in the morning we kept hearing guests slam the stairwell door and run downstairs after they were very loud. Our room had paint chipping off the wall between the TV and desk. The toilet seat was old and peeling in spots. The door to the room was lopsided slightly so it took effort to lock.

The staff was super nice. The lobby was clean. However, the room smelt like cigars and cigarettes, there was hair all over the floor, we couldn’t walk without shoes on our feet, the floor looked extremely dirty in the room. The drain plugs for the sink and shower were just set to the side of the tub and sink. Covered in mold or mildew, hair. If not usable should have been thrown away. The shower head was covered with something. The walls must be super thin, you could hear other rooms tvs, babies crying/parents yelling at their babies, people walking on the floors above you. And worst noise, there is a TRAIN that runs and blows the whistle several times at night. The area was not the best area, I don’t not feel safe outside without my husband. We checked out super early just to leave because of the noises.

The property was quiet during my 4 night stay. Staff was friendly and always greeted me when I came back to the hotel. The property is near a grocery store which was convenient. Unfortunately, my fridge was broken and moldy (would not get cold). So I was limited on purchase options. Also, I noticed that the elevator permit was expired by more than 1 year and it made a weird sound every time I stepped in. The property did have a breakfast option (hot meals on weekend) but the juices weren’t kept in a temp safe container. This resulted in the OJ expiring and fermenting. I stuck to making waffles each day since I knew they would be cooked correctly. The only other complaint was that the Wi-Fi was spotty at times.

This hotel need to be updated. It’s very old furniture in the rooms and the cleanliness was at a low. The hallways smell terrible. The only plus of this hotel was it was so close to River st. and staff was kind. I will not return to stay here.

The property is outdated. The room was clean enough, but really, really small. It is the location that is the real problem. Being near the port, trucks and trains rule. This was OK for one night but would NOT recommend for longer or with children. They admitted to being short- staffed, so service is "meh". The breakfast at this hotel was extremely limited. The coffee was completely empty for about half an hour at 8:00 AM. No staff were present to even ask about refilling it. They finally came back about half an hour later. They also manage the Baymont next-door, so I’m sure that’s where they were at. But it makes it extremely inconvenient for their own guests.

We stayed 3 nights, Wednesday to Saturday, staff was excellent! They have weekend shuttle service starting Friday which saved us $30-$40 AND happy hour Friday & Saturday 5pm to 8pm, free wine/beer and cheese and crackers …. Unbelievable, it was great!

Property was clean. However, our room had a very strong musty odor. You can tell it was clean, but I’m not sure if it’s the supplies they are using or what- my nose was burning. Bed was pretty comfortable. WiFi worked great however only one tv channel worked and every other one was spotty and said “inclement weather”. I knew the breakfast was limited just didn’t think it would be like it was. A waffle maker with no syrup and oatmeal with no hot water. The only other options were mini muffins of white toast with butter and 1 kind of jelly, or cereal. I went with cereal and it was stale.

If we hadn’t had a midnight arrival we would not have stayed at this property. Those who have rated it as exceptional have very poor standards. Stains on the carpets, walls, and furnishings. Dust on the doors and walls. The hotel lobby and breakfast area are beautifully redone but completely misrepresent the condition of the rooms which is really most important for a clean, healthy, relaxing, and comfortable stay. The breakfast area is the only space in the hotel that smells musty due to moisture control issues apparent by the extreme condensation on the windows. Breakfast is a risk at best. Juice looks like it’s been there too long and is possibly fermenting at this point. They also offer cereal with no milk, muffins, a waffle maker with no batter, and a carafe of coffee that really looks like it needs a good exterior cleaning. Spend $30 more and stay elsewhere.

The female receptionist was very helpful and courteous, but other than that not a lot to impress in my stay. The room was OK, but in need of some serious TLC (coffee machine and light above the bed not working, no plug in bathroom sink, toilet seat loose, whole apartment needed painting). The furnishings in the bedroom were passable. Very limited breakfast choice. I reported the main faults to a man on reception, who said that they would be passed to the maintenance team, but nothing was rectified in my 3 night stay. Not impressed.
