Hotel pictures on website make this place look fabulous and fun. That's definitely not the case. It's extremely overpriced for what you get. The hotel lobby was clean and our room was clean. The bed was comfy and pillows were nice. Could never figure out the elevator situation though. There were enough elevators but only two worked and sometimes we would have to wait like five minutes for one to come and then everyone crammed in there all at once. Sometimes there was a bellhop that operated the elevator. Our bathtub would not hold water so we could not enjoy that. We had to pay for bottled water in our rooms. Valet service for our car was at a ridiculous rate, $45.00 a day. The 3rd floor pool was lacking. The pool side service was not there and we had to walk downstairs and wait 30 mins to get food. Their makeshift bar was sad/lacking. The rooftop bar at night was creepy, overpriced and it didn't feel very safe. Shady characters hanging out. Bartenders were not friendly and the other staff on site was not friendly. They were very inconsistent in accommodating us. Last morning there, there was a man laying in the hallway passed out. I literally had to step over him to get by, and he had thrown up everywhere. I went downstairs to tell the front desk. They took care of it, but you would think someone would monitor the hallways and know what is going on at all times inside and outside of their property. Friend's room AC did not work.

The Statler Hotel was okay, but a lot of details were disappointing and misleading. The 9th floor pool is tiny—waist-deep at most—and probably fits 10 people max. There are no views, and you have to get to it via a strange staircase. The rooftop pool on the 19th floor looks like an infinity pool with skyline views and a DJ in the photos, but in reality, it’s just a shallow kiddie pool with no views. They charge $200–$2,000 for a cabana that’s nothing like what’s advertised. Totally not worth it. They also don’t disclose that you can add one extra person to your room for an additional $20 per night—but they only tell you that in person, not over the phone or online. Communication could definitely be more transparent. The room itself was average. The shower had no barrier or stopper, so the bathroom would flood every time you used it. Also, there’s no mini fridge in the room, which was frustrating for a hotel in this price range. The gym was honestly the best part—clean, well-equipped with Peloton bikes and multiple treadmills. Plus, the location is great and walkable to a lot of good restaurants. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again. My favorite thing was the bathrooms in the room. Waterfall shower head and a deep soaking tub. The beds were also super comfortable. The property is also walking distance to the AT&T district and lots of restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel dining options are nice and in a good location. During this stay, they must have been having elevator problems. because that was definitely an issue; long waits for the elevator. Also, the lobby at night time has turned into a club; as there was an endless line of people going up to the rooftop pool (this didn't help the elevator situation). The brunch spot, Overeasy, downstairs is great though, as is Scout.

I have always stayed here at this hotel because it offers everything I desire in a full-service hotel. It has several on-site dining options and all of them are good, it has great entertainment options for whatever you may be in the mood for, and the staff is very friendly and kind. This is the first time I have driven a car during my stay there and I was taken back that the valet charge is $65 per day which I thought was excessive.

It is a great property with cool amenities and amazing bathroom! However, the hotel is old and rooms are outdated and dirty. Carpets were stained, walls with questionable scratches/mold. Sheets not the cleanest. TV is old and does not allow you to connect your phone. Additionally, the first night was difficult to sleep because of some constant weird water pipe noises. I did not stay in the hotel a lot, but it was not so enjoyable to sleep in.

1. Unable to use valet, said our truck was too large and had to park 3 blocks away 2. Dead cockroach pieces under the curtains in the room 3. AC not functional. 2 repair guys came at different times and said they fixed it and it was good to go. Never got cooler than 79 in there.

We had to be moved to another room because our initial room had urine stains in the tub. When we moved to the new room you could see chips and cracks in the tub, the water didn’t really get hot enough and the pillows were super flat.

This hotel is nice, but not for the price they charge. The valet & front desk personnel were very friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful from the outside, the lobby, & the bathrooms were really modern. Upon first impression of our room, oddly our mattress did not fill up the bedframe. There was a gap at the headboard and footboard about a foot short on each end. The room was also lacking a mini fridge which was unfortunate. This hotel has two pools. One was completely shaded by check in time and did not have a bar. The other (rooftop) had the bar but I would hardly call it a pool. It was about 15 feet long and 8 feet wide. The only comfortable seating was marked as reserved which I’m assuming they want you to pay cabana prices? We never saw anyone sit there the whole time we were there. Zero shade. The crowd was interesting… not exactly high caliber luxury clientele. I think they allow people who are not staying at the hotel to come up to the rooftop, because there was a sign about the dress code in the lobby by the elevators. The property is probably a 3 star overall but the deluxe rooms are very nice with large bathrooms. The suites are not worth it. Stick with a deluxe room on the quieter side away from HVAC if noise bothers you. The breakfast place, Overeasy, is great!! Also the bellmen are so sweet.

Nice hotel although the view from the king deluxe rooms are TERRIBLE! I really wish that was in the description of the room or even the pictures. I really did not enjoy that, my view was a rusty wall… There were a few thing in my room that could have been fixed prior to my booking like the tub drain being broken so the water would not stay in and some of the lights needed new light bulbs. Also there is no fridge or microwave in the rooms which was super inconvenient.. especially for the price of the hotel. The hotel in all is nice but some things are lacking for the price.

I was definitely disappointed with the size of the bed as well as the comfort of the bed. The location is not great either. A heavy price for an average hotel I have stayed at less expensive hotels and the layout of the room , towels, bedding have been way better than here. Now they did make up for it. with their hospitality... the staff was amazing

I've have stayed at this hotel several times, the staff remembers you when you check in. From the front door men, to the checkin clerks they are all wonderful. The location is so central. The rooms are large, the beds are comfortable and the amenities are great. I will definitely be returning when I'm back in Dallas. I highly recommend this hotel.

At checkout desk the following day- pictures shown of thermostat and AC filter conditions from room 528 and our displeasure of being hot all night due to ac not working. “Ah. I’m sorry.” That’s it. My guest and I were stuck in an elevator for 15 minutes the first night of our stay, until the fire dept. arrived. Upon arrival and after making contact, we were never asked if we were okay. Instead, the manager present made it seem like we were faulty instead of apologizing, when in fact the elevator is past due for service, but was never blocked off to the public. Very disappointed. He insisted that the elevator was working, when we were informed on the telephone by someone else on the property, that it was not in service and was not to be used. It was extremely hot. The “man in charge”/ manager present at the time was also extremely rude. I was stuck comforting my friend who suffers from panic attacks and PTSD already. I wanted a refund for my stay and I was informed that it was left up to Expedia and the hotel had no control over it. This was a terrible experience. My friend’s birthday celebration was also ruined. I just want a refund. I spoke with the director of front office, and he assured me Expedia would process my refund for the stay due to the circumstances. I also have pictures of the elevators service record showing that it is past due for maintenance.

This property is very overrated. The staff was not engaged or friendly. The pool apparently after a certain time you can’t wear shorts, but if you were already there you are “grandfathered in”, according to the host. I was very let down by this property. We had a wonderful weekend stay at The Statler. It is SO close to everything walkable downtown: restaurants, parks, shopping... and it was SO fun. The 3rd floor pool area could use some landscaping love, but the facility overall was wonderful. Great stay!
