Everything has been easy. Drive, location, check in, room, gym.

Came to watch the Carlsbad marathon on Sunday. Since I drive an electric car I wanted a place with chargers. Sadly one charger was out of order and the another was plugged in but car finished charging. That car was still hogging the charger the next morning. Wish there was something that could fix that. All in all wasn’t the hotels fault. Just people need to be considerate for others. Overall Hotel was great definitely would stay again.

Painting outside buulding with workers assembling scaffolding right outside the window also noisy neighbors.

Absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were wonderful, the facility sparkling, and everything was perfect. However, I have to give a shout out to the robot, we had him deliver a few things and saw him in the elevator delivering to others. He’s amazing!! The highlight!!

Stayed here for for an event, and we had a very nice stay! I was glad to see that they have a robot to send any items we needed, like extra sets of towels. This hotel is very close to many shopping centers, and is definitely freeway close. I enjoyed the breakfast, and access to coffee 24/7.

The first floor was nice and quiet and convenient for us. There was plenty of parking and I felt safe.

This was a one-night stop for us, after a family holiday gathering in the area. The location was extremely convenient and when we checked out, access to the freeway was quick. Once the toddler upstairs stopped running around, which was brief, our room was quiet the entire night and morning. We used the hot tub - clean and no other guests. There were stacks of pool towels in an open cabinet immediately visible once we entered through the locked door. Our room smelled fresh and the beds were very comfortable. Both the beds had an array of pillows with varying firmness - Loved that. Bathroom was very clean and I liked how the shower had full pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash - no need to open a gazillion, tiny amenity bottles. There was a proper breakfast of hot scrambled eyes, crispy bacon, DIY waffles, and the basic cold fare as well. We give this Fairfield Inn a 10 out of 10. We'll be back.

It might’ve been my fault, but I thought I booked a suite not a room and I ended up in a room all in all, though I would stay there again. It was very pleasant. Love the breakfast free parking gym pool Jacuzzi.

It was very loud because they were renovating. Wish they had that on the website as a disclaimer I wouldn’t make reservations. Couldn’t sleep in kids couldn’t nap. Windows were closed completely with tape and plastic.

The front desk staff was impeccable. The room was clean, but smelled like mildew. A housekeeping person banged on our door at 9:30am to see if we were still in the room. That was very much not appreciated.

During my stay, on the day where the housekeeper came to clean the room they left the toilet brush on the bathroom counter next to all my makeup brushes and skin care. I was absolutely disgusted seeing that and when I notified the front desk, I was just given disinfectant wipes and went up to clean the bathroom myself. The room was also not vacuumed properly as I noticed residual leaves on the floor. During check out when I brought up this situation to the manager and front desk during check out I was simply asked to call ahead and they will make sure that the room was clean for us ahead of time. I didn't really understand this since I assume the room should be clean before I come for my visit anyway? The way this matter was handled did not make me feel comfortable and did not make me want to come back to visit this property as I am questioning the sanitary practices in place and I felt dissatisfied with how the staff handled the situation as well.

Someone left our window open, so it was difficult to get our room to comfortable temp. We had ants in our bathroom ( everywhere) Front desk was not helpful in resolution... Robot was so cool. ( Would bring you things from the front desk.) Breakfast was great, many choices for everyone!

Nice hotel. Appeared to an older building that had been renovated. Room and hallways had a stale smoke smell. The area is nice. The staff were accommodating. 8/10

Had 3 spiders in my room along with a dirt shower curtain location was nice near restaurants and 10 mins away from out destination but I won’t be stay here again lobby very nice and clean so was the work out room however my room was not so clean and found 3 different spiders also the ac unit made a continuous loud nose every time it kicked on

The property was nice, clean and quiet. I had a good stay here with no complaints. The room I got was very clean and well maintained. Will stay again

Fairfield inn San Marco's Date of Stay: 9/6/2025 We only stayed one night at the Fairfield Inn in San Marcos, CA, and unfortunately, it wasn’t the most pleasant experience despite the excellent customer service. We checked in around 9 PM and were greeted warmly by the front desk staff, which was a great start. However, when we walked into our room, we were hit with a strong, unpleasant odor. Since we were tired, we left our luggage in the room, opened the window, and headed out to dinner hoping the smell would clear out by the time we returned. We got back around 10:45 PM, and the odor was still just as strong. I tried spraying some air freshener to mask it, but that actually triggered the fire alarm. To their credit, the hotel staff called immediately to check in and make sure everything was okay. I explained what happened, and the front desk staff offered to send the night attendant to help us look at a different room. The night crew attendant came up quickly and was very nice. He showed us another room on a different floor but sadly, it had the exact same odor. At that point, we just stuck with the original room and made it through the night. We checked out the next morning. While the staff was kind and responsive, the overall condition of the rooms was disappointing. The persistent odor throughout both rooms suggests this hotel is overdue for upgrades, adding some air vents, especially replacing the old carpet and refreshing the interiors to improve.

The rooms on the first floor all smelled super bad, mildew, funky, nasty smell.

The service and accommodations were fine, but the heat did not work and it was super cold. We didn't notice until at night. No engineer was available until morning, so a cute robot delivered extra blankets. The engineer repaired it the next morning, but by evening, it was not working again and only blowing freezing air (it was in the low 30's outside!) no matter what temperature we set the thermostat!

The staff were very friendly and inviting. The room was spacious and the mattress was very comfortable.

We stay here many times a year and always enjoy our stay. We love the King Suite with the extra sitting room that has a sofa and 2nd tv. The rooms are super clean and the hotel is surrounded by great restaurants and shopping. We also love the good breakfast buffet and friendly staff. We’ll be back!

The AC was not working let front desk know and nothing was done about it.

The noise from the road kept me up while trying to sleep. I heard every car, motorcycle. There is not enough noise barriers in the outer walls of the building. I woke up tired.

As always a nice stay Nice staf Good Breakfast Clean rooms But Internet needs an upgrade, it is to slow.

Hotel is fine, however, the walls are thin, which interfered with sleep as conversations in other rooms were audible.

I experienced an unacceptable level of disturbance throughout my stay, making rest impossible. The primary issue was the malfunctioning, motion-sensored air conditioner, which produced a helicopter-like roar each time it activated, also triggering the lights, which repeatedly startled me. This was compounded by constant background noise—cars on the street even in late night, foot traffic by the elevator, and the distinct sound of water running through the walls from 9-10:30 PM. I did not get a single minute of uninterrupted sleep.

Convenient, right off of 78. Room was clean and efficent but small.

We really like this hotel. My only complaint is the lack of USB ports. There was only one in the room which is very unusual. We actually needed 4. Even the desk in the room had no USB ports. Very disappointing.

Hotels.com blotched the reservation - we were to have had 2 rooms and the Fairfield only received info for one. I had to pay for the 2nd room upon arriving as the Fairfield said they couldn't 'fix' the error with Hotels.com. They are YOUR partner and you s/not be making your guest pay 2x and seek refund. I'll not be using Marriott going forward

The people working at the front desk were beyond amazing. They were super helpful and very kind and polite. This also includes the cleaning staff. The rooms were very clean and tidy.

The entire staff were accommodating, kind, and efficient in helping us feel welcomed and comfortable. Luis (Louis?) B. at the front desk was exceptionally kind and hospitable. Thank you so much for a great weekend~!

Checkin was quick and easy. The hotel was clean and service was awesome. People were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very comfortable and had everything we could need including a fridge and microwave. The daily buffet breakfast had tasty offerings every day . I would stay here again.

A bit busy traffic wise as far as roads near the property. Otjer than that, a fine stay.

Great experience and location

This was a great place to stay while dropping off a new college student. It was easy to access and the rooms were well kept and spacious.

We were going to orientation at CSU San Marcos and it was a 5 min driver to the campus. Very convenient. Also Outback steakhouse is next door and Spaghetti factory across the street which was great. Also the freeway is a block away so it makes travelling very easy.

Comfy and clean rooms. Good cable TV with Netflix accessibility. Classic waffles, egg, sausage, and cereal along with other assorted baked goods for breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

I was happy the hotel was modern and new. It was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was roomy. The hot tub and pool were great and an added bonus. My only complaint was breakfast was served until 9:00 am which seems early to end breakfast especially on the weekend.

The continental breakfast was not the good.

Would've been great if more choices for breakfast and room cleanliness. Food was ok and bare minimum, room was descent size but always smelled stuffy even with ac on and bed sheets and duvet covers were stained. Reception and breakfast area always smells stinky due to breakfast area is open. Was expecting better stays with the high prices.
