Extended Stay America Premier Suites - San Diego - San Marcos

The elevator has been broken for over a month and a few staff members are flat out rude. Especially a particular woman at night

The staff is friendly. The laundry room, workout room is a great addition compared to other Extended Stays

There is No breakfast or coffee in the mornings. No ice machine. Other than that everything seemed new and comfortable.

In San Marcos, plenty of parking.

Rooms were spacious and clean. Easy to park. Laundry facilities. Staff friendly. Kitchen not well stocked. Had to go down to the desk to get essentials (cups, bowls, plates, cutlery) and carry up to the room myself. Walkable shopping, restaurants and grocery nearby. Overall, positive experience.

A new place and it was nice. No Ice machine, I thought it had some type of breakfast but nothing was out.

The only issue was that the elevator was not working, and we were on the third floor.

The staff was very friendly. It had plenty of parking.

The bathroom was disgusting. Shower had hair in it, sink was clogged and dirty, we had to use the kitchen sink to brush our teeth and wash our face. Floors were also dirty. I’ve stayed here a time before and the room was super clean, so I don’t know what happened this time around. Wont be staying here again. Other than the cleanliness, its a good hotel to stay in if you are going to Legoland, but just be aware of the cleanliness.

Floors in elevator and hallway were disgusting. The whole 4th floor smelled. The room was clean which was a relief.

Blood and dog hair on the sheets. They didn’t even clean the sheets from the previous guests. Just remade the bed. So disgusting. DO NOT STAY HERE.

We booked this hotel super last minute and loved it. It’s super well located, clean and the staff was so friendly! We loved our stay!

The room was not well clean,there was dust under the beds you could tell it hasn’t been swept and clean for awhile , bathroom floors were also not well cleaned ,2nd floor where we stayed has a smelly smell ,carpets not vacuumed dirty floors , garbage cans overfilled , we wanted our room cleaned the next day called front desk and they said no, we would have to pay extra money, they only clean it if you have been there for more than 7 days for free , no hair dryer in the room had to go to the front desk to ask for one, the times I went to the front desk no one was there I had to call the number to get someone to help me.

The room was filthy…floor was covered with the last people’s hairs and stuff…hallways smelled.

The only negative was minnimal access to fresh air and noisy AC and large refrigerator was intermittently noisy. No coffee maker in room but should be standard.

Liked - Hotel was fairly clean. Disliked - In room kitchenette had basic micro & refrigerator, nothing else, not even a mini coffee maker. You had to request additional items for a rental fee. First time staying in a hotel with kitchenette that had NO coffee maker.

The bed was hard and small. The room was very clean due to its newness, but overall, it was just okay. The TV and Wi-Fi were sketchy, and we couldn't get the TV to work.

The noise from surounding rooms was off the charts. Don't stay here if you want to sleep!

Overall great place to stay and affordable comparing to other hotels in north SD county especially in July . It was easy check in . Room was clean . Staff was responsive to my needs . The only two things I had issues with is the walls / ceilings are light . I hear a lot foot traffic above us even when it’s late and very early morning (4am) there is movement happening outside the hallway. Perhaps it was a one time occurrence during our stay but it woke up multiple times during our stay there . Lastly, the bed mattress are OK . Not terrible but my back was sore so the are a bit stiff in my opinion .

The only thing I really did not like was the walls were super thin so you could hear everyone outside of the room

THE ONLY DRAWBACK WAS THE ROOMS ARE NOT WELL INSULATED AGAINST NOISE BETWEEN ROOMS, OTHER THAN THAT, ITS VERY CLEAN, NICE CLEAN AND NEW.

Room is spartan and furnished with what looks like IKEA furniture. Clean well kept and quiet. You have to order coffee maker, toaster and any other kitchen items yet it is an extended stay hotel. Very odd...and cheap?

Easy check in. Lobby doors lock at 10 pm so no entry after 10 pm which made it feel safer. Room was very clean. It has kitchenette but you need to request dishes etc from front desk.

We loved the hotel! The front desk staff was friendly and overall the hotel and our room were both very clean. The beds could’ve been a little more comfortable, but no big deal. Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family!

Staff was courteous and the room was clean and inviting

Free breakfast was coffee and cupcake. The main receptionist is very unfriendly, doesn’t acknowledge the customers in front of her, they don’t even provide shampoo. Will not stay here again.

I stayed here two nights. The hotel is relatively new, so everything looks great! My room was clean, quiet, and the bed super comfortable. Lots of free parking! The shower had excellent water pressure. The room had great amenities as well such as a kitchenette. The front desk staff are EXCELLENT, especially Diane. She helped check me in quickly and when I needed a few items like shampoo, she provided them for free. Courteous and professional staff were much appreciated. Finally, the cost was low for a mid-week stay ($84/night), which is a bargain for the great quality you get. I would definitely stay here again.

The front desk person that was there at the desk when my son tried to check in at 2 AM told him it was too late to check in and didn’t let him check in. He ended up having to sleep in his car that night. She was obviously discriminating against him for some reason. I called the manager the next day and she apologized and was very sorry that the reservation desk woman treated him that way and refunded my entire stay. So in that regard, the manager was very responsive and took care of things right away but the front desk agent was horrible. I hope she was fired. Needless to say I will never stay at an extended stay hotel because of her actions going forward.

Son was getting married and we needed an early check in on the 14th. They were very quick to accomodate us. Friendly staff.

I’m giving 2 stars because I had an extremely unfortunate experience. The guy who checked me in was great, friendly, and efficient. One of my neighbors was blaring her tv all night through the wall. I got there around 7pm and her tv was blaring from that moment I got there to the very next morning. I couldn’t sleep at all because of the noise so I tried calling down to the front desk to see if I could switch rooms. No one answered. I called 5 times and no one answered. So I knocked on my neighbors door in hopes of asking her to lower the volume on her tv but she didn’t answer the door. It was finally around 2 am when I just couldn’t handle it anymore so I went down to the front desk but no one was there. I yelled out hello anyone here but no one came out so I went back up and knocked really really loud this time. She finally heard the knock and yelled through the door what do you want. I asked her to lower the volume on her tv but she couldn’t hear me over her tv so she yelled wait a minute while she turned the tv off. I’m pretty sure this woman was hard of hearing because I had to speak very loudly for her even hear me clearly. When I asked her to lower the volume she got a bit upset and gave me a hard time but she eventually said ok. BUT after I got back in my room she turned the tv back on and although she did lower the volume it was still so loud that I couldn’t sleep. I really wish someone had been at the front desk so I could have switched rooms.

Didnt like the staff

When we got there the woman at the desk left for around 10/15 mins when there were three people in line waiting for her help. They just didn’t seem to be to eager to help in general.

The location is perfect - walk to a large open-air mall with a food store and a number of restaurants - and very near 78. Easy drive to Escondido, into San Marcos, to Cal State, etc. The property is very well-kept, and the staff were very pleasant. This is pet-friendly, so expect a lot of dogs - but we rarely heard any barking at all. The rooms are clean, with lots of outlets for plugging in electronic devices. The breakfast is a little sparse - packaged mini muffins, granola bars, instant oatmeal - but there's plenty of coffee and creamer, and that mall with restaurants is very close.

Love this hotel. Great price. Clean. Close to restaurants and shopping.

Great stay! The room was ready right away, check in was easy and the staff were super friendly! The pillows were fluffy, plenty of blankets, bathroom very clean. I loved having a little kitchen in the room too. I highly recommend! The location is nice too, it’s just a block away from a sprouts and a few other great restaurants.

In San Marcos, plenty of parking.

We liked that the property was clean, quiet and fairly close to Legoland!

convienent to the freeway for accessibility and not far away from carlsbad to visit

The place was nice and clean. A lot of homelessness around the hotel which was odd because we really didnt see this in the surrounding areas. The hotel staff was hardly at the desk and they never answered the phone. That was the only downside.. that and no coffee.

It was well situated

We checked in and the front desk clerk was so friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately our room was next to a noisy party. 1:00 AM and the noise and loud music continued. We called the front desk and they did nothing. With so many options in the area, we would never return to this establishment. Located in an Industrial area part of town.

the "breakfast" was a joke, shouldn\'t state anything about it on the website. Save the $0.15 and move on. The staff were nice and was a basic room. The need to get shampoo from the front desk was odd, but maybe that\'s a CA thing.

The “free healthy breakfast” was coffee and oatmeal packets (heavy sugar added) with cups for the oatmeal. There was an empty small refrigerator where most motel/hotel locations have milk/yogurt …… there was no employee to be found in the lobby area in the morning. To management: just be honest.

The carpet in the hallway really needs to be deep cleaned. It smelled horrible and you can see stains all over. The breakfast was very small. It was ok. Overall it was an ok place to stay. We went to Legoland so it was perfect for us to just sleep.

Our trip was rescued after a bad VRBO experience. This potpourri was clean and stafg was helpful. Free breakfast was advertized on the little screens at the check- in desk but was not provided at this property. Overall great trip!
