Clean and comfortable. The shower is TOO modern with no curtain, so water goes EVERYWHERE. Asked for extra bath mats. We stayed 5 nights which from the turnaround around us is a long time. Great view and the location worked nicely for us to venture out in different directions each night. OH!! They offer laundry service!! Worked great, it was back to us the NEXT day by 8am!! Nicely clean and folded clothes - better than I could do!!

Our experience here was quite nice. It was cold and a little foggy, but when the skies opened up the views were quite magnificent. I highly recommend just going to the Bonus Store or some other grocery store to cook as their kitchen facilities were quite nice. They make good cocktails, but the prices for food were a little high, so again, great for cooking in your own room. Also has electric chargers if you are driving an electric vehicle.

Clean and nicely designed room. Sound proof b/c we have a very noisy 2 yr old. Parking was right outside and perfect. Kitchen had everything we had to cook. Staff was nice. Only complaint, was that the heated floors in the bathroom and foyer were nice but made the nights pretty uncomfortable in trying to cool the room down. I literally had to sleep with only shorts and that was still only slightly bearable on our first night. We checked in late so reception closed and we could not get word. Next day we asked for a 2nd fan and were able to ask to lower for a bit (it's shared temp control with the whole building and not just our room). We also opened up the window which allowed the room to cool a bit. The floors would over power the cool air,but with the 2nd fan and lowered floor temps it worked out well. Overall a really good time here, but watch out for the heated floors unless you like to sleep in a sauna.

The black beach suites hosts an amazing view of the landscape leading to the ocean and has a very clean interior and exterior. The staff is very thorough and goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The bar serves delicious drinks and snacks late into the night if you choose to indulge yourself in the late night activities. Staying on the bottom floor you do occasionally hear your upstairs neighbors but it’s nothing worth noting. The laundry service at the check in desk is a very nice thing to have if you have a long trip ahead.

This was a beautiful property and felt very upscale as soon as you went to check-in at the reception area. Our suite came with its own parking spot. The suite itself was cute and comfortable and we had a great view of the fields, hills and water. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was big and spacious. The shower was amazing! Perfect water pressure! We really enjoyed staying here and wish we had booked two nights instead of one. It was close to all the attractions in and around Vik. I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Vik.

Clean room, beautiful views and sunsets. Very comfortable suite with loveseat and table with two chairs in room and a desk. loved the kitchenette in suite. parking free and near unit. 10-15 minutes drive from Vik. I was very happy with our stay here. There is a bar with drinks coffee and light snacks available in the Barn where you check in. I would highly recommend staying here.

The view is absolutely stunning, but the property itself felt a bit dated and not as clean as some of the reviews suggested. The front door lock was difficult to operate, both when opening and closing. Additionally, access is via a traditional metal key, and only one set is provided, which can be inconvenient for multiple guests.

The bedroom and kitchen area is located as a separate room. It was clean and perfect for our needs. Beds were comfortable, and we did use the coffee machine. However, our big issue was the bathroom which had poor ventilation. I wasn't sure whether the fan works but the room stays damp. When we return from our outing, our towels are still damp, the walls are moist and there's a moldy lingering smell. The bathroom cabinets doors are warped and starting to peel from the moisture. I am allergic to mold and while I did not have a reaction, it was lingering in the back of my mind.

Beautiful location. But the newest part has thin walls and could hear other guests. Be sure to book independent cottage. We did tell staff, but nothing was done to prevent the jumping up and down in unit above us (well past midnight). Still, gorgeous location and nice room. We were to get free drink tickets and did not get them.

Great spot near the black sand beach, Vik (grocery store) & 25 minutes from Arctic Adentures, in which we did a glacier walk (expensive but a great experience). No shower curtain so bathroom floor gets soaked & slippery. Bed very comfortable, but didn’t like we did not have heat control, it was way too warm so we always had windows open. No outfoor furniture for deck, for the price we paid, there should be outdoor furniture to enjoy the views from outside. Smoking area located right next to check in area, totally offensive for those of us who do not smoke. Does not send a good message from hotel perspective, ruined our first impressions.

Great location to the South Coast including Vik and the Black Beach. Loved the room but my only suggestions for improvements would be to install a hand wand in the shower and be able to regulate the temperature better. Had the heat as low as possible and the windows open and was still too warm at night. In our two week stay all around the Ring road, this was the most expensive yet the only one without a shower wand. Great full kitchen and Nespresso machine!

This was one of the largest rooms we had in Iceland. It's an entire apartment with a huge bathroom and beautiful walk in shower. The beds were so comfy. It had a full shower, dining room, living room and huge TV. The private patio had amazing views of the Black Sand Beaches. You can pull your car right up to your front door. It had a beautiful bar and restaurant on the property. It also had shampoo, conditioner and lotion! Rare find in Iceland hotels. Loved it so much!

The room was fantastic! Room had to be 600/700 sq feet. Beautiful view over looking the ocean and the black beach. We enjoyed being on the balcony watching the sunset.

Great design and apartment amenities. We were on the bottom floor and could hear our upstairs neighbors move chairs and walk at night. Recommend a second floor stay if you are a light sleeper. The location was perfect for a 3 night stay seeing all the sights in the south and east. Sunsets were stunning from our floor to ceiling windows!

This was an amazing property on the Black Sand Beach near Vik. We were traveling with three people, and chose this hotel because of the beds for three. My only complaint was that the sofa bed was EXTREMELY squeaky and the bars made it uncomfortable. We were there for two nights and this would have definitely been a 5 star review except for the sofa bed.

I would not stay here again. Quite a few issues and a high price point that would make me expect to not have so many issues: *I was given the wrong room type from what I booked. When I asked to be moved to what I booked, I was lied to and told all of those rooms were booked. *The door in my room was broken and I could not close it. As a result I had to be moved to a different room (ironically, the type that I originally booked but was told was not available). *The rooms are EXTREMELY hot. Like 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The thermostats do not work. I was told by the front desk to open the door if I want to cool it down. I’m obviously not going to sleep with the door open, so it was extremely hot overnight. Very hard to sleep. *Each time I asked the staff to help with the room temperature (they told me they have the master controls) they were very rude and just seemed to want me off the phone. Out of everywhere I’ve gone in Iceland, this was the least friendly and hospitable service I received.

Great stay. Front desk was warm and welcoming, letting us checking in a bit earlier. Room and bathroom were amazing. They provided coffee, tea, kettle, microwave, oven and everything you need to cook, including oil, salt and pepper.

The signs for Black Beach Suites aren't lit, so those arriving after dark can only guess as to where the check-in desk is located. After searching for 20 minutes in the rain, we had to stop and knock on the door of a current guest to find out that the check-in desk was at the Barn building. The person at the desk only laughed when I told him of the frustrating ordeal. LIGHT YOUR DAMN SIGNS.

Front desk very unhelpful. Argumentative. We were searching for a store that sells glue, not super glue. Told there was no type of store but at the petrol/gas station the young man said yes, indeed there is called Aldon. They were very unhelpful and very unfriendly both the night staff and the checkout staff. For the price we were very disappointed with customer service.

Nice room. Beyond that very poor. No one in reception before 3 pm. Only 2 towels in a suit of four people. No way to communicate with reception but to walk over to the reception building (sometimes it rains in Iceland).

Black Beach Suites was a highlight on our road trip around the south coast of Iceland. Beautiful accommodations and views. We had a large room for our family of 4, that was clean, new, modern and fully equipped. It overlooked a field and the ocean in the distance. We loved that it was secluded and wonderfully quiet. The suites were close to the infamous Reynisfjara beach and a quick drive to the town of Vik. I was so happy we found this place to stay on our trip!

The room was nice and clean and had a good shower. The view out back to the beach was nice. There were not a lot of dining options on the property but Vik was a short (~10 minute) drive so we went there for most of our meals. We went in the spring (early April) and the room was always warmer than I would have liked. We had the thermostat turned all the way down and even opened the windows but the temperature never got below 25C (77F). The tile floors were heated (which is nice getting of the shower) but that kept the room warm all the time.

Very convenient and comfortable hotel in an amazing location in Vik and adjacent to beautiful black beach. The only issue was that we couldn’t understand how to use electric burner that was different from standard burners like these elsewhere and there was no complimentary coffee and sugar which is not acceptable for such an expensive hotel and is a standard amenity in lower standard hotels. Even at the reception, which is in a different building from the suites the coffee that is offered is not free of charge so with no breakfast that should be the minimum complimentary offer included in amenities . Besides we had a vwonderful stay at the hotel and the staff were very helpful

Spotlessly clean and stylish cabin with an awesome view. It was just perfect. Had everything you needed. Even free access to netflix on the huge smart tv. It had a lovely walk in shower with heated floor too...so divine and I wish I could have stayed there longer! There is parking allocated directly outside the suites and up at the Barn you can grab a bite to eat (they sell chicken tenders, pizza etc). It's a limited menu but done well.

I think the photos and description of the property could be better. From the photos you get the impression that the bed is in a separate room from the living room and kitchen area....but they are not...this is just one big room. the title "Suite" also gives the same impression. With 3 of us in the booking; this was not what we had anticipated. Beyond that the room is clean; the beds were comfortable. Everything you might need was in the kitchen. They do have a bar....but it only serves FROZEN/MICROWAVED food....so to call it bar food is very generous. There are no restaurants close by; so eat before you go...or stop for groceries and take advantage of the kitchen in the suite.

This was our second stay at Black Beach Suites—we had such a good experience previously that we booked it again when we came back to Vik. Beautiful view of the beach, a small kitchenette with a dishwasher, and close to Reynisfjara as well as Vik. Large bathroom and shower (wear sandals if you can, as the floor floods by design and is a fall hazard). We ate breakfast at The Barn, which had good coffee, a small selection of juices, and simple pastries. The property is very quiet.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Exterior and interior very aesthetically pleasing. Great location and view towards the sea. Room was large and very clean. There is no oven - we didn’t spot this in the description and had got a pizza to cook! Tea and coffee selection was very welcomed. Later than usual check out meant we could have a relaxed get up and go. Would recommend.

This was a comfortable room with a very nice view near Vik. On check in, they told us there would be pastries in the morning - we were unclear on whether those were included (they were not). While there is no restaurant, the bar food was enough for us for dinner.
