Hearthside Inn was a perfect spot to stay in Bar Harbor for our visit to Acadia National Park. Comfortable and quiet, delicious breakfast entrees each morning, and very friendly staff/hosts. Street parking is scarce in Bar Harbor, so being able to leave the car parked here for easy walks into town for dinners and shopping was a bonus!

Wonderful place. Convenient to Acadia National Park, and the inn keeper was helpful in advising on hiking trails, restaurants and sights to see. She offered to light the fire pit for us our last night there, which was an extremely nice gesture.

Really nice place! We found safe parking in front and absolutely loved our room. The young gentleman that checked us in was very nice and helpful. The chef the next morning made us a delicious meal. This place was very close to downtown and we just walked the block to lots of places to show, sightsee, or eat. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Great breakfast, very comfortable bed, nice location. Note for those with physical limitations, there isn’t a lot of parking in front of the building and there are many stairs. Neither was a problem for us though.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hearthside Inn! The room was spotless and very comfortable, and the customer service was excellent — the staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed. Parking was a bit of a walk, but they were very helpful in assisting us and offering good options. Breakfast was amazing, and the coffee was just what we needed to start the day. The cutest little bed and breakfast. It was in the perfect location. A quick walk to all the restaurants and shops. Juliana was so sweet and friendly. The included breakfast offers two options each morning, a savory or a sweet option. Everything we had was great! The afternoon snacks and sweets were good. They always have cookies, baked goods, ice, and water sitting out. Our room was completely remodeled and absolutely beautiful. We would definitely stay again!

The service and food were both great at this property to start on a positive note. However the property itself is not well maintained. Carpet is pretty gross and covered in stains, wood needs maintenance and towels were stained yellow. For the upwards cost of $500 we were not impressed by the condition of the Inn. We usually book hotels and resorts based on reviews and with excellent reviews we were sadly disappointed by this one.

The breakfast they serve is delicious! They were so kind to box up our breakfast for us because we had reservations to go out on a lobster boat tour! The bed and breakfast was in walking distance to everything in bar harbor and spotless. So glad I chose this place to stay!

Our two night stay was very enjoyable. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the bed and bedding was luxurious (to me anyway) and everything was super clean. Treats are offered every afternoon (brownies, cookies and the like) along with coffee or tea and each morning we were offered the choice of a savory or sweet option for breakfast. The breakfasts were delicious and ample! If we find ourselves in Bar Harbor again I can’t think of a single reason to look for any other place to stay. Loved it!

The location of the the inn was excellent! Walking distance to everything in Bar Harbor. The food, breakfast and afternoon snacks were all home made and wonderful. Unfortunately the coffee was consistently weak and watery so we popped over to get espresso at nearby A Slice of Eden. The rooms were well appointed but the mattresses are a little old or just soft and spring feeling ish. Not sure which but would appreciate firmer bed quality…. which would escalate the experience at Hearthside immensely. Overall a very good experience though I would probably opt to try another inn next time based on the mattress. Very sweet staff!

We had a delightful stay at the Hearthside Inn for our 4-day, 3-night visit to Bar Harbor/Acadia. The inn was immaculate and cozy, the innkeeers were warm and helpful, and the food was delicious (particularly all the well-stocked homemade treats). The inn was off a quiet street but centrally-located to all the best of Bar Harbor. The only small inconvenience was that the old structure has walls on the thin side and if you’re a light sleeper, you may hear your neighbors get up for a sunrise outing at 4am. These are the sort of things I expect at a B&B; however, if this sort of thing bothers you, you might consider staying at one of their sister properties: the Pathmaker Hotel (an adorable boutique hotel which looked delightful) or the Anchorage Motel. I would 100% stay here again! We enjoyed every moment.

Beautifull place, staff was very friendly. the only issue was tgat our room was street level and facing the street so curtains needed to be closed all time for privacy.

This was the first time we stayed at a place like this and it was an amazing experience. It felt cleaner than any chain hotel and more welcoming. The staff was amazing - they were able to provide me with anything I asked for, from an iron, to microwaving a kids meal at 9 PM. Cookies available at all times, a wonderful breakfast with options for both savory and sweet, and again, a wonderful staff to meet your needs for breakfast! The room we stayed in, the king room with spa bath, was beautiful! It was the perfect size, had plenty of amenities and felt very private. We would 100% stay here again.

If you have clicked on this property, then you found it! My husband and I were so warmly welcomed by Britny. What a sweetheart she is. We had some laughs while she was showing us around to our Stunning room, the windows and the balcony and the seat in the window!! Waking up to breakfast, Like, a real breakfast!! So delish, thank you Roxanne, Carissa and Maleek. You are amazing. Then we had fabulous chats with Juliana. She was so informative of all the hikes around the National Park. (Easy, huh!) And all things in the area. We are so grateful to you all for having us. We will certainly be back.

You can’t go wrong with the Hearthside Inn! The staff were superb. The Inn is so charming considering the age of the home. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe there and around Bar Harbor. The Inn is ideally located within easy walking distance of the downtown area so you can leave your vehicle parked there. Breakfast was delicious & the room was CLEAN! If I had to give one thing to improve on, it would be the squeaky bedroom doors as that’s quite disturbing when guests using the hall bathroom are continually coming & going from their room (at a very early & late hour). You can’t go wrong with the Hearthside Inn! The staff were superb. The Inn is so charming considering the age of the home. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe there and around Bar Harbor. The Inn is ideally located within easy walking distance of the downtown area so you can leave your vehicle parked there. Breakfast was delicious & the room was CLEAN! If I had to give one thing to improve on, it would be the squeaky bedroom doors as that’s quite disturbing when guests using the hall bathroom are continually coming & going from their room (at a very early & late hour). That being said, I would absolutely stay at The Hearthside Inn again!

She made sure we didn’t have any allergies and was conscientious of our dietary restrictions and with that they fed us the most delicious breakfast. Every afternoon they had a sweet and savory dessert and again they were absolutely delicious. This was a true 10 out of 10 and we WILL definitely be back. Thank you all for an amazing weekend.

The most unique and beautiful bed and breakfast we’ve ever stayed in. Hospitality was incredible. Breakfast was incredible. Location was fantastic. Such a treat!! Would 10/10 recommend! Also kudos to Juliana, Alondra and Catherine they were all so lovely to make our experience so special!

We had a wonderful stay at the Hearthside Inn! The room was spotless and very comfortable, and the customer service was excellent — the staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed. Parking was a bit of a walk, but they were very helpful in assisting us and offering good options. Breakfast was amazing, and the coffee was just what we needed to start the day. Hearthside Inn was a perfect spot to stay in Bar Harbor for our visit to Acadia National Park. Comfortable and quiet, delicious breakfast entrees each morning, and very friendly staff/hosts. Street parking is scarce in Bar Harbor, so being able to leave the car parked here for easy walks into town for dinners and shopping was a bonus!

I cannot recommend this inn highly enough! The inn was gorgeous and clean. The room we stayed in had a lovely private balcony and was beautifully appointed. The staff was wonderful, and the breakfasts every morning were amazing! There was a sweet and a savory option every morning, plus coffee and tea set up for early risers. They also had fresh baked goods in the afternoon, which was great for a post-hike snack. The inn is very centrally located in Bar Harbor, with Main Street in walking distance. Really nice place! We found safe parking in front and absolutely loved our room. The young gentleman that checked us in was very nice and helpful. The chef the next morning made us a delicious meal. This place was very close to downtown and we just walked the block to lots of places to show, sightsee, or eat. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

First trip to Maine and to Bar Harbor, and the Hearthside was a perfect place to start. We spent 2 nights at this beautiful and ideally located property and there really isn't a single thing I can say we were left wanting. Juliana is a wonderful host, the breakfast was a relaxing and delicious way to start the day, and everything about our experience was fantastic. Loved the proximity to everything, but also just far enough away to feel outside the busyness. There are some fantastic restaurants just blocks away that feel a little less touristy than some of the places on Main. Overall, a wonderful experience and perfect place to stay. Literally everything was phenomenal. Absolutely wonderful service, and they even accommodated my food allergies/sensitivities. From the delicious breakfasts to the lovely evening flavored lemonades and baked goodies, everything was so thoughtful, lovely, and delicious. We thank you all for your wonderful hospitality! We had a wonderful stay. We visited the first weekend of May 2025 and the staff was great. Our room was excellent and the breakfast was above and beyond. We also love the freshly baked sweet treats they provided in the afternoon. We will definitely be staying here in the future.

This was the first time we stayed at a place like this and it was an amazing experience. It felt cleaner than any chain hotel and more welcoming. The staff was amazing - they were able to provide me with anything I asked for, from an iron, to microwaving a kids meal at 9 PM. Cookies available at all times, a wonderful breakfast with options for both savory and sweet, and again, a wonderful staff to meet your needs for breakfast! The room we stayed in, the king room with spa bath, was beautiful! It was the perfect size, had plenty of amenities and felt very private. We would 100% stay here again.

The cutest little bed and breakfast. It was in the perfect location. A quick walk to all the restaurants and shops. Juliana was so sweet and friendly. We've stayed in alot of B&Bs, but this was by far the BEST! We never felt more welcome, and everyone was so helpful. Breafast? No need to go anywhere else - breakfast was just amazing! Highly recommend.

The stay was fine- nothing special or impressive. This is an old house that has been turned into a b&b, and for the most part the accommodations served its purpose. I’m a little surprised that the room felt like a bit of a dorm room for the price we paid. The carpet had stains, and the room had no closet. Otherwise, all was fine.

Hearthside was such a pleasant surprise on a long road trip. First off, it beats almost any B&B I’ve ever experienced for cuteness appeal. The location is top notch. Very walkable, but just far enough from the bars to avoid any noise and shenanigans. The staff was incredibly friendly, the bed was very comfortable, and best of all, the breakfast was amazing. We had a bell pepper frittata. Chef’s kiss. Oh, and make sure to get there in time for 3pm tea time! The strawberry basil lemonade and baked goods were out of this world!
