We had a great stay on the jungle side of La Valisse. Pool was great, still had beach access, and our room was very nice. Breakfast was included and recommend the massages on the beach. Would stay here again

This property is a small, boutique hotel but the level of service is above and beyond. The staff is so friendly, knows all of the guests names and make everyone feel so comfortable. Very quiet as the restaurant and beach areas are for guests only. And while very hot/humid in mid-May, the jungle pool is so beautiful and relaxing. Beware of the bugs on jungle side though. I recognize this couldn't be avoided but there are lots of grasshopper type bugs, moths, mosquitos and worst of all scorpions (which are apparently harmless). Peaceful to be amongst the trees, but my (irrational) fear of bugs made it so I couldn't really relax while sleeping. Some of the rooms on the jungle side have outdoor bathrooms which isn't appealing to me, especially in the middle of the night. Beachside in the future, that's for sure.

C’est un hôtel tres chic Bobo et eco responsable mais un peu trop, sur ce thème je ne pense pas que le rapport qualité prix soit au Rdv: Pas de bouteille d’eau, pas d’attention particulière dans la journée ou même au petit déjeuner, pas de serviette plage sur les matelas …

Stayed in a master suite on the jungle side - one of the best hotels we have stayed at. Was so quiet and peaceful. Pool area was amazing. Beach area very picturesque, but would personally prefer to spend time by the pool. Loved the roll out bed, spent a very lovely morning lounging on the bed on the balcony! No request was too much. I would say drinks / food is a little pricey, but in the context of the Tulum hotel zone was actually pretty reasonable. And plenty of food / drinks options within walking distance. Would recommend.

It was a STUNNING hotel and the rooms are quite beautiful. We had a reservation at Nu Tulum and the food was exceptionally beautiful and delicious, as well as the service. Our first night, we really wanted rest and our room happened to be near the restaurant where a wedding was taking place. This was never mentioned in our booking and it was EXTREMELY loud til midnight. I did eventually call the front desk and they offered for us to move rooms (which I was too tired to do). The next night, they upgraded us to the beachfront side since it became available and we had wanted to book that originally. It was still very loud that night with another wedding, but not quite as loud. Just know that it may not be as quiet and relaxing as you think at night. However, the service is excellent, the people were so beautiful and wonderful. And the beach side was just an incredible view. We loved it. I would stay again, but not if I really needed a quiet night. 🙂 Just be aware. Still a 9.8/10.

We loved La Valise! It was very clean and luxurious, the staff was very kind and helpful! The spa is beautiful and the massages were amazing! Cons: The road to the property is not in the best condition, very narrow with lots of cars, bikes and pedestrians don’t is very chaotic. Lots of construction. Everything near the hotel is very expensive! $20 for a 5 min cab drive. $200 for restaurants so be prepared!

Dear La Valise Team, We were very much looking forward to our stay at your beautiful property, and while we truly appreciated the unique design and overall atmosphere, I wanted to share a few disappointments that impacted our experience. We had booked the suite with the rolling bed, and checked in around 4:00–4:30 PM, hoping to unwind and take a few photos before our 7:30 PM dinner reservation. Unfortunately, several issues took up most of that limited window: When I reached for the robes, both had noticeable yellow stains. I texted the staff for replacements, and also reported that the A/C remote wasn’t working—important since the doors cannot be opened with the A/C on. It took nearly an hour to receive the new robes and for someone to look into the A/C issue. While I understand things can take time, the service felt very slow, especially during a time-sensitive part of our stay. Additionally, while I was getting ready, the staff troubleshooting the A/C appeared to be having a serious conversation about The A/C, which made the situation feel uncomfortable. Lastly, our booking on Expedia mentioned a complimentary bottle of wine in the suite, which we never received—something I had been looking forward to after the delays. While we truly loved the ambiance and would have enjoyed staying longer, I left feeling disappointed that we weren’t able to take the photos I envisioned, especially given the reputation and rate of the property. The service, the cleanliness and the amenities were great. Eddy and Jesus which were our two butlers went above and beyond with everything we could have asked for. I can’t explain how comfortable me and my fiancée felt with their service. Now, I have to point that we had an inconvenience with Room #9 (jungle view). This particular room I assume is next to the kitchen. It was a nightmare with the noise from 6am up to 11pm. It was already one of the most expensive hotels from my options and the least I wanted to expect is a noisy room right next to the kitchen. Everything else satisfied my expectations from what I read on the reviews.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff who are so helpful and wonderful! Valet parking, beautiful rooms! Very accommodating. The staff remember your names and are so happy and smiley! It’s like living in a luxury jungle. We specifically chose this hotel as it was the only one with consistent amazing reviews and it didn’t disappoint. It’s right at the end of the ‘strip’ so it’s lovely and quiet as we didn’t go to tulum for the ‘party’. ONE FOR THE LADIES - all hotels in tulum are run off generators so if you take your Dyson it won’t work 😂 check your voltage on the Dyson website as I looked a little like a cave man till the humidity broke

Hotel en un destino de moda, en una zona llena de restaurantes y tiendas de ropa. Tiene dos áreas: una que da a unos jardines y piscina y otra a la playa. Los huéspedes pueden usar ambas independientemente de dónde se encuentre su habitación. Estas son espaciosas y cómodas. La nuestra tenía el baño en el exterior, en una especie de patio, por lo que la ducha estaba al aire libre (sin acceso desde la calle, a salvo de miradas), lo que no acabó de convencernos. Además disponíamos de una bañera con hidromasaje y un solárium en la planta de arriba. El desayuno es muy bueno y con posibilidades de elección a la carta y el restaurante igual. El acceso directo a la playa es una gozada, y nunca he estado en una con tanta actividad animal. ¡Hasta asistimos en directo al nacimiento de docenas de tortugas y su camino al mar! Aunque su final no fue muy feliz, con las aves que estaban atentas a la eclosión.

Hotel en un destino de moda, en una zona llena de restaurantes y tiendas de ropa. Tiene dos áreas: una que da a unos jardines y piscina y otra a la playa. Los huéspedes pueden usar ambas independientemente de dónde se encuentre su habitación. Estas son espaciosas y cómodas. La nuestra tenía el baño en el exterior, en una especie de patio, por lo que la ducha estaba al aire libre (sin acceso desde la calle, a salvo de miradas), lo que no acabó de convencernos. Además disponíamos de una bañera con hidromasaje y un solárium en la planta de arriba. El desayuno es muy bueno y con posibilidades de elección a la carta y el restaurante igual. El acceso directo a la playa es una gozada, y nunca he estado en una con tanta actividad animal. ¡Hasta asistimos en directo al nacimiento de docenas de tortugas y su camino al mar! Aunque su final no fue muy feliz, con las aves que estaban atentas a la eclosión.

This property is a small, boutique hotel but the level of service is above and beyond. The staff is so friendly, knows all of the guests names and make everyone feel so comfortable. Very quiet as the restaurant and beach areas are for guests only. And while very hot/humid in mid-May, the jungle pool is so beautiful and relaxing. Beware of the bugs on jungle side though. I recognize this couldn't be avoided but there are lots of grasshopper type bugs, moths, mosquitos and worst of all scorpions (which are apparently harmless). Peaceful to be amongst the trees, but my (irrational) fear of bugs made it so I couldn't really relax while sleeping. Some of the rooms on the jungle side have outdoor bathrooms which isn't appealing to me, especially in the middle of the night. Beachside in the future, that's for sure.

Master Suite was gorgeous. It was amazing to sleep under the stars with the sound of the waves. All staff were very helpful, other guests were friendly. Carlos's service and care deserves more than a 5 of 5. He is such an asset to La Valise.

Stayed in a master suite on the jungle side - one of the best hotels we have stayed at. Was so quiet and peaceful. Pool area was amazing. Beach area very picturesque, but would personally prefer to spend time by the pool. Loved the roll out bed, spent a very lovely morning lounging on the bed on the balcony! No request was too much. I would say drinks / food is a little pricey, but in the context of the Tulum hotel zone was actually pretty reasonable. And plenty of food / drinks options within walking distance. Would recommend.

The service, the cleanliness and the amenities were great. Eddy and Jesus which were our two butlers went above and beyond with everything we could have asked for. I can’t explain how comfortable me and my fiancée felt with their service. Now, I have to point that we had an inconvenience with Room #9 (jungle view). This particular room I assume is next to the kitchen. It was a nightmare with the noise from 6am up to 11pm. It was already one of the most expensive hotels from my options and the least I wanted to expect is a noisy room right next to the kitchen. Everything else satisfied my expectations from what I read on the reviews.

Die Suiten im ersten Stock mit Meerausrichtung sind einfach umwerfend. Die Zimmer auf der Landseite würde ich hingegen nicht buchen. Der 6km lange weisse Sandstrand vor dem Hotel ist unübertroffen.

It was a STUNNING hotel and the rooms are quite beautiful. We had a reservation at Nu Tulum and the food was exceptionally beautiful and delicious, as well as the service. Our first night, we really wanted rest and our room happened to be near the restaurant where a wedding was taking place. This was never mentioned in our booking and it was EXTREMELY loud til midnight. I did eventually call the front desk and they offered for us to move rooms (which I was too tired to do). The next night, they upgraded us to the beachfront side since it became available and we had wanted to book that originally. It was still very loud that night with another wedding, but not quite as loud. Just know that it may not be as quiet and relaxing as you think at night. However, the service is excellent, the people were so beautiful and wonderful. And the beach side was just an incredible view. We loved it. I would stay again, but not if I really needed a quiet night. 🙂 Just be aware. Still a 9.8/10.

My husband and I just recently visited and all we can say is WOW!! This experience for us was exactly what we wanted and needed. The generosity that each staff members brought was very heart warming and truly inspiring to see. From Laurna’s kindness, Efrains cool vibe and conversations, Eddy’s amazing breakfast service and joyful self, Angel’s wholesome personality, Alfredo making me coffee every morning at 5AM.. when he didn’t have to, and we cannot forget Carlo’s determination to go over the top with his hard working abilities (finding bananas in the middle of the night for my husbands night time snack and bringing them to our room). There were other staff who we just didn’t catch their name but worked so hard too. Staff that showed us how to work the free bikes, the man who takes every morning to make the beach look nice, the other man who helps in the morning for breakfast, the women who clean our room MULTIPLE times a day… the people here care and it shows. Anything you ask for you will most likely receive at any hour. Also, I am gluten free and they have options! They have great breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. They also will accommodate any meal option if you ask. Also day before leaving they even ask to make you a lunch and coffee for your trip to the airport. Seriously they go above and beyond.

The view from the dining hall is breathtaking!! The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms and the amenities are nice. In the warmer months, I’d recommend the beach/garden side rooms. The jungle side rooms are great but the run warmer is summer months. There are a lot of dining options and experiences nearby.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff who are so helpful and wonderful! Valet parking, beautiful rooms! Very accommodating. The staff remember your names and are so happy and smiley! It’s like living in a luxury jungle. We specifically chose this hotel as it was the only one with consistent amazing reviews and it didn’t disappoint. It’s right at the end of the ‘strip’ so it’s lovely and quiet as we didn’t go to tulum for the ‘party’. ONE FOR THE LADIES - all hotels in tulum are run off generators so if you take your Dyson it won’t work 😂 check your voltage on the Dyson website as I looked a little like a cave man till the humidity broke

This place is PERFECT! Walk out your door and there is the beautiful sea. The staff are fantastic! Eddie, Carlos, Alberto and many more are just so friendly and there to help you decompress. Its not so close to hotel zone so is a little quieter. Endless beach walks await!

We loved La Valise! It was very clean and luxurious, the staff was very kind and helpful! The spa is beautiful and the massages were amazing! Cons: The road to the property is not in the best condition, very narrow with lots of cars, bikes and pedestrians don’t is very chaotic. Lots of construction. Everything near the hotel is very expensive! $20 for a 5 min cab drive. $200 for restaurants so be prepared!

By far the best hotel in Tulum. Better than Azulik (we stayed at both). They have a welcoming drink. Bathroom & shower in the room. Free breakfast. Steamer & airblower in the room. They don’t use the eco-friendly excuse to cut corners like most luxury hotels in Tulum. Absolutely the best in town

Absolutely stunning boutique property split between the Beach side..and the Jungle side. We stayed on the jungle side...tropical plants surrounded the beautiful pool with the rooms nestled amongst the palm trees and lush vegetation. The attention to detail and attentiveness of all staff was exceptional..but Anna & Iker (part of the front of house concierge team) really went above and beyond to make us feel so welcome. Superb breakfast included with our room...and you could choose to eat it on the beachside (our choice as you got the sunrise amd oceanviews)..or in the jungle side ..or in your room. I could have stayed forever

On the positive side: large, comfortable room, with efficient A/C; big swimming pool; generally nice and helpful staff. On the negative side: - when you arrive for check-in, you are presented a 2 page-contract, with a lot of small print, to sign; you really long for other things to do upon check-in after a long trip. - our first room was incredibly noisy (60 db of a constant humming noise); we contacted the front desk and the answer was "it is because your room is next to the machine room"; we were offered another room, which we accepted, and the second room was fine; still, in a 5* hotel, when you pay USD 600, you really don't expect that they'd dare propose such a noisy room (and then that you lose an hour to get assigned another room). - the breakfast was generally fine, except for 2 things: croissants on the first morning were rancid; they really give the impression that they're trying to save as much as they could (fruit juices are watered down to the point they're almost tasteless) and you need to keep asking and asking to get things that you're actually supposed to get (and then you're not even sure you'll finally get them - we gave up on a couple of things). - they advertise at the reception that they're a HiltonHonors member, but when you ask them to register your stay with HiltonHonors, they say it's not possible. - generally, the hotel is less exclusive than advertised (the sargassum, which makes it impossible to even access the beach, if of course not helping).

We stayed at La Valise for 4 nights and it was exactly what we were looking for in a Tulum getaway. Our suite was spacious, the food was excellent, and the property was in a great location, walkable to restaurants and shops. But the best part about La Valise is the staff! They are professional, helpful, and courteous, and made us feel welcome the entire time. I would recommend La Valise without hesitation!

Such a great place and location to enjoy the quiet side of Tulum beach and venture off to the party if desired. Food and drinks were great, service was great and the facilities were great.
