Overall a nice hotel for the value: clean, updated, big rooms, generous breakfast (more European/intercontinental), central location walkable to about anything in town. Far enough away from main places to be quiet. The only strange thing is lack of staff: they were there when I checked in later, but then I saw only one other time someone being behind the desk over 2.5 days. I tried texting the whatsapp number at the desk for help to get any room service: no response, no room service, didn't have any service for the time I was there. All the door alerts are set to "do not disturb" and no matter how I played with it, I could not get it to state need for room service. Basically a good stay with nice rooms otherwise.

The Palace Hotel was a great find! The location could not have been better! Walking distance to all of the historical sites! We checked in the late afternoon and still able to see everything including the must see nighttime views of the palace and the reflection pond. The other sites including the Buddhist temple was a simple bus ride away! We were able to do laundry there, which was a plus! The staff were very helpful. The entire hotel was very clean and well taken care of.

The shower setup was the stupidest that I have ever seen. It was not enclosed, so the water went end up all over the floor. Also, there were no switches near the beds to control the lights so you would have to get out of bed turn off the lights and climb back into bed in the dark.
