My family had a great stay at this hotel for our vacation, it’s an easy walk to all the shopping and dining in deadwood, or you can take the trolly. The only think I wasn’t aware of was the $15 parking a day which is fine just wasn’t aware until we were checking in. The casinos are nice and not too crazy busy when we were there and the kids enjoyed the pool area.

The one big complaint we had.....was the balcony fire pit. It was open 24 hours and loud guests probably drinking from casino was very loud well after 1a.m. All the rooms above and around balcony were awaken several times during the night

We've stayed here many times. Tru is a sleek, modern hotel that is a floor above Cadillac Jack's casino. There are a variety of restaurants on the main floor too. Also, when you stay at Tru, you have access to another motel's infinity pool that looks out to the hills. There is a charge for parking - $15 a night but at least it is underground, if desired.

Parking was not easy. The parking lot is for many businesses and it seemed repair work was being done as well. This was the only thing we had any issues with. The Tru Hotel was great.

The hotel is part of a casino complex so it doesn’t have its own entrance. You have to go into the casino, find the elevator and then go up to the second floor to the front desk. This is not clearly marked with signage so I took us a little bit to figure out. Also they charge $15 per day for parking (which I had overlooked on Expedia) so be aware of that. The room itself was fine but the pillows are terribly soft and lumpy.

It was confusing to find the check in for the hotel up one story, not ground level. They should do a better job of advertising that the Hilton “Tru” line is a bare bones hotel with very few amenities in the room. Since it’s a casino downstairs there are plenty of loud, drunk people to interrupt your sleep.

Booked this hotel because of price and it said it had a pool that is a lie. The pool is 2 hotels away (more than 100 yards) and you must walk through a casino to another hotel and get an access card to use the pool. So when you go back, you'll be wet walking through a hotel and a casino to get to your hotel, That's deceptive Advertising. Hotel And breakfast. was nice. It was above the Cadillac Jack Casino. I give high praise to the staff and the people of Deadwood, most were nice, helpful and kind.

Room was dirty, with hair blowing around on the floor, stains on the wall where the trash can sits, terrible looking walls with poorly painted walls with mismatched color, terrible beds, just definitely not what we expected with a name like Hilton, very disappointed, definitely would not stay at this property again, maybe not at any Hilton property, lots of other choices out there, this place would have been ok for some economy motel, like a motel 6, not for a Hilton property @ $285.00 per night + $15.00 per day for parking, which by the way was supposed to be waived, but wasn’t!!

Breakfast was included but offered limited options. Breakfast area was crowed. The corners of the room had accumulated dust and underneath and around garbage bin were dried up liquid stains and what seemed to be napkin bits or bits of toes nails. Also the wall above had liquid stains.

Room filled with Box Elder bugs. Although harmless and fall is that time of year for them try sleeping with bugs crawling on you. Was not willing to move us to another room only offered to vacuum the room but bugs were back within an hour. Refused to refund us so we could go to another hotel. No upgrade in rooms. Nothing offered but so sorry.

This property was a huge disappointment. Room very dirty, bed is not a king and sheets do not fit bed so rolling up on sides and bunching up. Bathroom corners full of dirt and sink would not drain. Talked to staff about room - they offered us nothing and said they could not help us because it was booked through Expedia. I want my money back.

There was a mold smell coming from ac unit/room. We had trouble breathing through the night and woke up feeling unwell it was so bad. Cleared up as soon as we left hotel. Bed was super hard and uncomfortable, the frame around the bed was disgusting as was the floors and showers. The hallway floors had gsrbage and filth all over. We alerted the front dask and all that was said was "huh, we will let so.eone know."

Good overall, but skimpy on the towels. We only had one set each, and had to request new or additional each day. House keeping was marginal to non existent. We had to request that as well. Garbage receptacles in hallways were overflowing for several days at a time. The breakfast was decent.

The bathroom floor was filthy, and it looked like it had not been swept or mopped. There were hairs in the bed and random dirt smudges everywhere. Felt super unhygienic and couldn't wait to leave. Also, there was a strong fragrance or cleaning chemical smell that gave us headaches.

The rooms were very quiet and I loved that. There was no coffee maker in the room or microwave which I am accustomed to. Housekeeping only came every other day which was unusual too in my opinion. The free coffee in the lobby was out more often than not. There was no dresser for unpacking so we lived out of our suitcases. There was many food options and I did like that.

Everything was great except the water pressure and temperature. The issue in our room was variable water pressure and water temperature noticeable frequently. It could be hot one moment and ice cold the next, also a steady stream of water at one point down to a trickle!

Room was much smaller than we expected, not much room for luggage. Bed was very uncomfortable, we did not sleep well at all. Parking is tight, just plan on not having a parking spot outside. We found the underground parking garage which did have plenty of spots to park. Our room was clean and we had all of the supplies we needed (toilet paper, towels, soap, etc.)

Such a cool hotel concept. Very open check in on the 2nd floor. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. Tons of storage space, including room for your suitcase under the bed. If you aren't aware, like me, the first floor is a casino. We stayed on the third floor and didn't hear anything. The rooms are quiet, even traffic noise is muffled. They do have the coolest breakfast option to make your own pancakes! No pouring batter everywhere- you push a button, silver dollar sized batter drops on a conveyer belt. This machine cooks the pancakes on both sides and then flips it onto your plate. So fun!!

Had to pay for parking and then the one night we got back and drove around parking lot for a half an hour before we could find an open spot. Housekeeping only comes to your room every other day to check on towels, garbage, etc. We had to go ask for towels because no one ever came to check our room. We stayed for 4 nights so our room should have been checked twice and never was.

Upon arrival the gals at the desk tried to chg us for an additional night that they said wasn't canceled...it had been & I had a copy, 1 started scolding us about property policy and the other tossed my document back at me and told me to show her on my doc. Where I had canceled...well long story short I had canceled it in August and they were thinking October, which we had already said twice, which was great to do in front of the 15 other people standing there! the 1 gal apologized and corrected it, while the other shot us dirty looks and continued to treat us rudely as if we did something

The room looked nice when we first arrived. However, we found hair in the shower, there was no toilet paper and the light over the shower started flashing like a strobe light at a disco. We called the desk clerk who said he would see what he could do. After an hour of waiting (and no return call from the clerk) we called him back and found out that the maintenance person wanted us to just turn the light off. One switch controls all of the lights in the bathroom so that wasn't possible. The clerk didn't understand why showering in the dark was not an option. Once again he said he'd see what he could do. We never heard from him again, the maintenance person did not arrive and no one offered to let us switch rooms. Unbelievable. So much for "hospitality." Oh, and beware the $14.95 parking charge that the morning clerk admitted is hidden in the fine print.

My only complaint—and I do mean my only complaint—was that there was a lady at the front desk with short hair who was extremely rude to everyone, including my wife, who was simply asking where we could park. One guest described her as “unhinged,” and I’d have to agree. She was literally yelling at everyone, and I didn’t see anyone being disrespectful. She even called security on someone who was just frustrated over a billing issue. Which is too bad, because everyone else I met working there was super friendly and helpful, including the lady with the longer red hair who helped me at check-in—she was exceptionally friendly.

Our stay was amazing at the Tru Hotel in Deadwood. Very clean and comfortable ! The breakfast was the best breakfast that I have ever had complimentary. And then there was the sweet, Ashley, that checked us in and out. What an asset she is to your business!! Kudos to her. You best keep her around as she was just amazing and fun!! Will def stay there again!

My room was supposed to be ready at 3:00 for check in. I arrived about 4:10 and it wasn’t ready. The front desk told me it shouldn’t be long and he would call me. So we went downstairs and ate. 5:30 still no phone call so 5:45 we went back to ck.it was ready and he forgot to call me. I told him I wasn’t happy about the room and not getting called. He got really defensive and started telling me he can’t do anything because I went through a third party(Expedia) but didn’t charge for our parking. That evening we couldn’t get the internet to work on our phones. No one could help. Didn’t know why. Really??? Next morning getting my receipt I kindly said my concerns with the desk and she also was very rude and said they are training new people and sometimes it takes longer and that I should understand. I do understand they are rude and didn’t do their job. People are traveling and tired and have to wait 2hrs after check in time and then not be offered another room and be told to understand. No!

We liked staying here. We parked in the front parking lot but there is an underground lot as well. Breakfast was good. A lot of people got through with very little waiting, I was impressed. The bed and pillows were good, room was clean and quiet. Hardly any wait for the elevator. It was a nice, safe walk to old town.

They will charge you $15 a day for parking. They give you a casino credit but it was a surprise charge upon check in. That kinda sucked. Otherwise the breakfast was delicious and the staff was very hospitable. They also have room servicing robots and several fast food options on site.

Tru by Hilton had a nice and comfortable room. The only disappointment was the morning breakfast. It was crowded. Juice dispenser out of service. Pancake machine was really slow with a line of people waiting. Coffee was disgusting hair on the hard boiled egg. Also $15 parking fee was stupid for terrible overcrowded parking. Convenient to the Main Street of Deadwood.

We liked staying here. We parked in the front parking lot but there is an underground lot as well. Breakfast was good. A lot of people got through with very little waiting, I was impressed. Ongoing construction in parking lot. Did not refill items during Breakfast Buffet, cereal but no milk, yogurt machine not working, out of bread for toast, out of bagels and muffins, out of egg omelets, sausage patties not cooked.

Property was clean. The Bed was uncomfortable and needs replaced or better quality. Breakfast was free but was continuously out of food items along with coffee. Had to wait substantial amount of time for each item.
