Residence Inn by Marriott Dallas Downtown

We spent the night after seeing a show at the Majestic Theater. It’s convenient and there are a few spots to have a bite and a drink right around the corner. It is on a busy street so if noise bothers you ask for z room not facing Commerce St. Staff was very nice and breakfast was 7/10. The coffee was very good for hotel coffee. The rooms were very spacious and clean and priced well. But be prepared to spend $50/ night for parking. Yes, we’d stay there again.

Rating is based on a winter time stay. We choose the location because it had an indoor pool. The pool was very cold, enough so that even my 5 & 7 yr olds didn't want to swim. Other guests had the same complaint. Dispute multiple discussions with the hotel staff, it never got better the 3 days we were there. It was a let down.

Overall, it was a nice property, however, the pool amenity was not available as it was going under renovation.

This hotel is generally very nice with AC hotel space on the lower floors and Residence Inn on the top floors. It is a bit confusing as check in for each hotel are on separate floors. The rooms were large and well appointed. Great value for an urban hotel. My only complaint is the ELEVATORS! Not only were they incredibly slow, the actual system to call the elevators is so wacky. My elderly parents were with us, they could barely get to their rooms with this confusing and non-user friendly system. God forbid you accidentally get into the wrong car as there are NO buttons on the inside. Otherwise an enjoyable stay with good breakfast included.

Highly convenient location in downtown Dallas. We found it very safe and easy to walk from the hotel to key attractions during our trip. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with check-in and check-out, and luggage storage. Breakfast each day was delicious, with options that varied, but my favorite was the bacon, egg, and cheese muffin sandwiches. The pool was a refreshing bonus to our stay. If you like cocktails, the bartender in the AC lounge was a real professional in his craft! Two things to improve upon: 1) the availability of clean towels for the pool (not a big deal, we just had to ask several staff more than once for towel replenishment as the baskets were empty) 2) only two functioning elevators created constraint among the busy floors, especially trying to get from or to the lobby Overall, it was a great experience and we recommend it!

the elevators always had a long wait that one day we had to take the stairs from the eighteenth floor.

We tried to check in and the computer systems where down. Had to stand in a huge line to get checked in just to be told i had to fill out a paper and give them credit card info even though i prepaid for the room. We finally get to the room and the huge floor rug had stains all over it. Kitchen cabinet under the sink was broken and the ac didnt stay on very long so it was hot. Smelt like cigarette smoke. Cost $51 to park for 1 day!!!!

Everything was spot on. My only complaint was the lack of parking. We had a 3 month old infant traveling with us so we used valet which is an additional $50 plus tips. The hotel itself is excellent!

The hotel is beautiful and clean. But, PARKING is a terrible issue.

This property does not offer onsite parking, but valet is available at $45 day. However, valet attendants are not responsible. One of them lost our key to the rental car. VERY DISAPPOINTING when the onsite manager stated “ I KNOW MY GUYS DIDN’T LOSE IT” I was so disappointed I booked an earlier flight to get out of the hotel asap.

Spotless clean great service 5 star in my opinion

This property was very dated! I booked a king suite and they gave us the wrong room, it was a huge hassle and took them forever to get us the correct room. The hotel just felt dirty, lots of paint chips missing and the floors were dirty. Happy was good and so was the breakfast.

The room was in immaculate condition. Staff was friendly

I am utterly ashamed of this hotel and its actions. We discovered bed bugs in our room, raising serious concerns about the hygiene standards of this establishment. Forced to leave early and switch to another hotel, we requested a refund. However, not only did they lie to us by claiming they would conduct a pest inspection—which they clearly did not—but they also refused to refund us. We are beyond disappointed and deeply frustrated. We will never return.

I have stayed at Residence Inn many times but this property was disappointing. The carpet arounf the bed was really dirty as was the sofa. The shower curtain was too short so the floor flooded and I spent time mopping up water after showering. The hallways needed vacuuming. All that aside, the staff was very nice and helpful.

Everything was fine till my 9 year old pulls out the pull out couch to lay down and we find a used condom in there. I let the front desk know and she said she would speak to the manager about it. We go to check out and NOTHING was said or done. Not even a "sorry". Very disappointing

Nice clean place

When I visited Dallas, the temperature was 97°. When I entered my room at the Residence Inn, I was met with a very welcomed blast of cold air. The air conditioning and temperature control was perfect. The included breakfast was solid. It was filling and fresh. The fruit salad of cantaloupe and pineapple was delicious. Every employee at this hotel was professional, polite, and courteous. The rooms were immaculately clean. The only strange thing was the way the elevator operated. You had to choose your floor before entering the elevator, and there was a moment when the system glitched. However, the glitch was over in a few minutes, and it did not delay my plans. I definitely will plan to stay here again when visiting Dallas.

Great hotel with free hot breakfast every morning. Only thing was our air conditioner was weird, we set it cooler before we left for the day, and when we came back at the end of the day it was warmer than what we set it at.

Overall, this was a great stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and our room was very spacious. There was an elevator that wasn't working, but it didn't effect our stay too much. The free breakfast was nice as well.

Our bed was low to the ground. Lighting in bathroom dim. No trash can in bathroom.

After checking in, I noticed that my room’s toilet was continuously running and making a trickling sound. I immediately told the front desk, and they said they would have maintenance look at it while I was out for the evening. Upon my return, the toilet was still running and making the same noise. … Also, my room stayed around 74 degrees the whole time I was there in spite of me having the thermostat set at 68. It was so hot that I had trouble falling asleep and even stood on a chair to check and see if cool air was coming out of the vent. … The hallways and elevator felt like a furnace. So, I’m assuming the issue was widespread. … When I checked out, I reported all of this and was simply told, “We’re sorry about that. We’ll try and make sure it doesn’t happen again.” … Had there been an offer to make things right, I wouldn’t be leaving a negative review. But just being told “sorry” doesn’t cut it.

Furniture Upholstery was wear off

Hotel was nice, but poor parking solutions. Poor insulated walls so you could hear the traffic all night, i was on the 15th floor, otherwise nice hotel.

Room was spacious, clean and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful! Outside street noise was bad. We were on the 11th floor facing the road. Somewhat typical for large city downtown hotels. Location was convenient for downtown activities. The valet parking staff was great!

I’m very disappointed in my stay at Marriot. I went on to the app and they requested a wish list for certain amenities and I asked for foam pillows and extra towels. When I arrived, they were not there. Also, when we arrived, the young lady at the desk gave us the hours of operations for the restaurant and bar. Later on that evening when I went to go get something to eat, I found out the restaurant was closed and also the bar for the holiday week. I wish someone would’ve told us this because one of the biggest reasons I wanted to stay at this hotel was because of the restaurant and Bar in the hotel. I don’t like to leave the hotel unless I have to. Terribly disappointed. When I went to complain to the manager in charge on Tuesday at 11:30 AM, he told me that the restaurant was not part of the Marriot. He said it was part of the AC hotel, which is connected to it. When I notified the manager that I wanted to email corporate about this he told me I could only make a complaint to Expedia who made my reservations and that Marriot was not to blame. He refused to give me Marriot corporate contact information. This just tells me that this manager has no accountability and was pointing the finger at someone else. Not very professional in my opinion and he was rude. The only thing good about my stay was the valet service. They were great! The hotel service itself was terrible.

Happy with the rooms, clean, spacious and well presented. Staff excellent, helpful, friendly, informative and professional. Breakfast was included for us. Good variety of options. Hot and cold. Happy to recommend this hotel in the downtown area.

We went without heat our entire stay with no sense of urgency from the hotel staff nor maintenance. I called multiple times with no assistance until we reached out through chat using expedia . We were not offered a different room and had to beg for an additional space heater. My room was 64 degrees when entering and this morning it finally was the warmest at 78 degrees upon check out.

Let's say that the staff needs training! I stayed here for three nights. First of all, every time you call, you're greeted with "Please hold.". It's best to walk downstairs, which isn't always convenient. Additionally, the lock on my room door was broken, and maintenance took forever to inform me of the situation or to update the front desk staff. It was necessary for me to propose to them that I get a new room, which they agreed to do. Packing and moving to another floor wasn't ideal since I'm pregnant. After that, I requested a late check-out. As my request could be bumped, I was told to request later. Let's fast forward to the day of my check out. There is no water in the shower when I go to take a shower. There is no running water! After reporting it to Constance, she was unconcerned. After explaining that this has been my worst stay: the ringing phones and hold times, moving rooms, and no water, I was irritated. Then I bring up the late accommodation. She harshly told me she couldn't help me since I didn't book through Marriott. Accusing me of passive aggression! Yes, she spoke to me that way. After I asked the GM and Marriott about this incident, I was told they could only give me until 12/12:30pm, not 1pm, due to bookings. Nearly two hours have passed. There is still no water to shower with. Don't stay here, it is expensive and you won't be satisfied with the service.

Front desk was exceptional. Helpful and thoughtful personnel always make the trip more memorable.

The staff is amazing. Cecilia at the front desk was very helpful during our check in. She gave us a great recommendation for dinner on our first night, and always greeted us by name and a great smile throughout our entire visit.

Valet tow my car when I was told by multiple worker they will charge the room however we woke up to a towed vehicle which they had the keys plus I tried to cancel the second day because I book through a third party company they wouldn’t honor it I will never book through this site again

Hotel was fine for a quick stay. Clean and acceptable. The issue is the surrounding area. Lots of homeless and navigating the area at night is a challenge.

Great place and location.

Unprofessional & not accommodating

Residence Inn is a great property with other hotels and restaurants in the area within walking distance. It can be a bit noisy. The area, not the hotel per se. just be aware of that issue.

Location was perfect on Commerce Street. We were able to walk to Reunion Tower, The Sixth Floor Museum, and lots of nearby restaurants. The rooms were clean and breakfast was convient. I just wish that they served breakfast until 10:00 AM as I live on the West Coast so have a tough time getting up for breakfast by 7:00 AM.

Downtown location was perfect for me. Rooms were nice and valet parking was great.

The neighborhood doesn't seem safe at night.

Loved the location, there’s a ton to do in the area! Staff was very friendly, the room was beautiful with a matching view and the breakfast was a great classic hotel breakfast! The bar is beautiful as well!

Our stay was nice. For the most part front desk was nice and friendly. Our last day we went down to have breakfast and asked the front desk if breakfast is still available. unfortunately we were 10mins past the serving time which was fine, but as we were sitting down having coffee, the lady at the front desk escorted a man to the closed breakfast area to grab some food. Never did she ask if we would like to grab some food. My thoughts are if the kitchen is closed, then it should be closed for all. Smh...

We had a great stay and the breakfast was good!

Had an overall great stay, however we were told breakfast was until 11 am on Sunday and they closed and put away everything at 10 am. We also paid for Valet and when we requested our vehicle, it took an HOUR to be brought to us.
