Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and proximity to the beach make this a great stay. Staff really worked with me to find things I needed or figure out how to navigate the area. It's far from 5th, but you can rent bikes from a place nearby and get around pretty easily. Hailing a cab may take some time. The pool and rooftop are nice enough - no umbrellas though, so plan accordingly. Book a deluxe room if you want to access balcony or beach views.

Trust me when I say that this is not somewhere you want to stay. There were so many bad things about this accommodation that we just had to laugh about it, otherwise we would cry. The day staff was helpful when we first arrived and neither the fan nor AC nor TV worked in our room. She tried to help, but was not successful in fixing the problem. We stuck out the lack of AC in the extreme heat for 2 nights as there were no alternative rooms apparently, but we got no sleep because the room was stifling, plus no one in this hotel respects quiet hours and will happily be having loud conversations in the hallway for long periods of time in the middle of the night. To get a room change, we had to really fight and not take no for an answer from the night staff who seemed to be unwilling to help in any situation because it might make her actually lift a finger and do her job. Once we did get moved to a room on the same level as reception, we did finally have AC, but every night this lady was either talking loudly on the phone to her mates, or had friends at the front desk talking and laughing loudly from midnight to early hours of the morning. To then make this experience even more "exciting", the water went out for over 48hrs, the pool was a damn murky and dirty disgrace, the "breakfast provided" was literally sliced apple with maple syrup and a sprinkle of granola every day, and both rooms we had plus our friends in another room all had little bits of blood on the bedsheets.

To then make this experience even more "exciting", the water went out for over 48hrs, the pool was a damn murky and dirty disgrace, the "breakfast provided" was literally sliced apple with maple syrup and a sprinkle of granola every day, and both rooms we had plus our friends in another room all had little bits of blood on the bedsheets.

Worst stay ever. A/C was leaking water, a lot of water. They had to come clean the puddle it left every night till they put a bucket. I asked to get moved to a different room and they said were full... there was mold on the walls from the moisture. The rooms in the ad have outside windows but most rooms only have a window into the hallway which is a danger. The ad shows bicycles but they do not have bicycles... very noisy with all the construction around the area and whenever someone closes a door it make a loud noise that everyone can hear... anyone talking in the hallway is going to wake you up so its a disaster if kids are staying there

Arriver dans un hôtel loin de tout sans eau dans l'évier. Pas de chaise, pas de table , pas de téléphone. Restaurant ouvert presque jamais. Cuisinier très sympathiques, mais pas souvent là malheureusement. Pool bar décrit inexistant. Sang sur les serviettes. Je dirais que le 8 sur 10 de la description était généreux. Impossible de dormir la nuit. Chien qui jappe, bruit de bouteilles, cries. On entend tout dans l'hôtel. Tout. Il y a un puit de lumière qui unit les 5 étages. Sur ce tu entend ce qui se passe au 5e même si tu es au premier. J'ai dormi en moyenne 2 heures par nuit. Honnêtement pour le rapport qualité prix, ce fut mes pires vacances à vie. Il a fallu je demande pour avoir le safe d'installer. Après il y avait de la poussière de plâtre partout dans la chambre. Parcontre, la réception a été très sympatique pour m'avoir fait tallation.Il te donne 2 petites bouteilles d'eau au début et après tu te débrouilles. La réception m'en avait offert une autre, car j'étais dans l'incompréhension, mais sinon on m'a dit que je devais en acheter. C'est comme si tu faisais du camping indoor et c'était un hôtel non remboursable. Les points fort de cet hôtel est que les gens de la réception, le nettoyage des chambres et le cuisinier sont très sympatiques. La chambre est belle, mais vide. Il y a une piscine mais très petite. C'est un cartier loin des zones touristiques.

Our experience staying in this hotel was very complicated. We filtered for a hotel with parking available, but the property has very limited parking space, so we had to park one night on the street. The room was not well kept, with paint fading from the walls and several bathroom issues. The A/C went out on our room one night, which we reported the next morning, but when we got back to the room they had done nothing to fix the issue. The front desk staff did their best, but we ended up 2 out 3 nights without A/C at a beach hotel. Overall, you get what you pay for with this property.

Excelente estancia, está muy cerca de Playa Punta Esmeralda la cual es una de las más bonitas que tiene Playa del Carmen, pero el hotel si está muy alejado del centro, yo no tuve ningún inconveniente con este tema, atención muy amable en recepción y cuenta con una alberca en el techo, todo bien.

A couple of km north of the main commercial area, hotel had nice roof pool and a simple breakfast. There were a few parking spots. My room was very basic and somewhat dark (window looked on to a corridor). Price was fair for PDC --- plus a good taco place opposite.

The rooms walls and ceiling are covered in black mold the windows don’t lock can’t keep your valuables and documents in the room without the fear of getting stolen and when I asked about the window they said they’ll check on it later and is all good to leave it and also was blood on the sheet covers with some black residue

No servía el aire acondicionado, les hice el comentario para que me cambiaran de habitación y según la de siempre ya no tenían.. que si funcionaba el control, pero que pues tal vez no tenía gas... Osea! Te despertaban a las 9 am para el aseo Muy descuidadas las habitaciones Tienen humedad En la parte de arriba donde está la alberca, está sucio, con humedad... Nada como en las fotos.

Mala atención al cliente, no brindaron la información necesaria en el hotel! No fue buena la limpieza Habitación sin ventilación, paredes en mal estado, ducha en mal estado. Sábanas manchadas y no eran cambiadas día a día.

The front desk staff did their best, but we ended up 2 out 3 nights without A/C at a beach hotel. Overall, you get what you pay for with this property.
Our experience staying in this hotel was very complicated. We filtered for a hotel with parking available, but the property has very limited parking space, so we had to park one night on the street. The room was not well kept, with paint fading from the walls and several bathroom issues. The A/C went out on our room one night, which we reported the next morning, but when we got back to the room they had done nothing to fix the issue. The front desk staff did their best, but we ended up 2 out 3 nights without A/C at a beach hotel. Overall, you get what you pay for with this property.

We decided to stay here because the pictures and reviews were good but it was FAR from it. We got to the hotel and front desk was friendly. We payed $25 for remote controls for the room but that was given back at the end of your stay. We got to the room and I couldn’t believe my eyes! The room was dirty! They didn’t bother to clean the closet mirror which had lots of finger prints! The worst part was the restroom!! The restroom mirror had toothpaste splashed and water marks ALL over it! I wish I was exaggerating but I am not. The table in there is plastic, old and stained. The bed was soo soft too. It was so bad we left the next day and stayed at a different hotel. We didn’t care to loose the money we had payed for (1 week) we had to get out! Do not stay here! I don’t know how people stay there and I don’t know why the hotel staff thinks it is ok and in good condition for people to stay.

The staff was VERY Friendly!! I feel bad that I can't give 5 stars, but wanted to give people an accurate idea of what you will be getting here. 1st- Hotel IS clean! Staff is friendly & helpful. Room was huge. Overall pleased with that. BUT- Very limited "amenities". Not even an ice machine. Only 1 chair in our room. Breakfast was white bread & a toaster, butter & a jelly, coffee or water. Getting a blanket and towels was like asking for gold. Never got an extra pillow. Only 1 trash can in the room (in bath) Overall it was decent place to base our trip from, we only slept there. But it is not a resort that you'd want to lounge around at. Neighborhood was a little sketchy too, although nothing bad ever happened to us or rental car. If you're used to staying at a 4 or 5 star resort, you will probably be disappointed. If not, it's not bad for the money!

Worst stay ever. A/C was leaking water, a lot of water. They had to come clean the puddle it left every night till they put a bucket. I asked to get moved to a different room and they said were full... there was mold on the walls from the moisture. The rooms in the ad have outside windows but most rooms only have a window into the hallway which is a danger. The ad shows bicycles but they do not have bicycles... very noisy with all the construction around the area and whenever someone closes a door it make a loud noise that everyone can hear... anyone talking in the hallway is going to wake you up so its a disaster if kids are staying there

Got a room on the 1st floor, with no blind except a transparent one! Everyone could see in the room, people on the street and people living in the apartment on the other side of the street! Room also had a humidity smell hidden with lot of perfume to hide it. We did ask to move to another room but we've been told there is no other available. We did ask to cancel and leave but again, not possible so we left. Very bad experience

A couple of km north of the main commercial area, hotel had nice roof pool and a simple breakfast. There were a few parking spots. My room was very basic and somewhat dark (window looked on to a corridor). Price was fair for PDC --- plus a good taco place opposite.

Es un hotel cómodo y se paso, en los alrededores no hay muchas opciones para comer y se encuentra a 4.5 km (50 min) caminando de la 5ta avenida. La alberca es cómoda y con una vista agradable. Los cuartos podrían recibir algo de mantenimiento general, así como el aire acondicionado (lo tuve que apagar por alergia). la calidad de atención del persona muy buena. En general, un hotel que vale por lo que se paga.

Trust me when I say that this is not somewhere you want to stay. There were so many bad things about this accommodation that we just had to laugh about it, otherwise we would cry. The day staff was helpful when we first arrived and neither the fan nor AC nor TV worked in our room. She tried to help, but was not successful in fixing the problem. We stuck out the lack of AC in the extreme heat for 2 nights as there were no alternative rooms apparently, but we got no sleep because the room was stifling, plus no one in this hotel respects quiet hours and will happily be having loud conversations in the hallway for long periods of time in the middle of the night. To get a room change, we had to really fight and not take no for an answer from the night staff who seemed to be unwilling to help in any situation because it might make her actually lift a finger and do her job. Once we did get moved to a room on the same level as reception, we did finally have AC, but every night this lady was either talking loudly on the phone to her mates, or had friends at the front desk talking and laughing loudly from midnight to early hours of the morning. To then make this experience even more "exciting", the water went out for over 48hrs, the pool was a damn murky and dirty disgrace, the "breakfast provided" was literally sliced apple with maple syrup and a sprinkle of granola every day, and both rooms we had plus our friends in another room all had little bits of blood on the bedsheets.

A una de las 4 habs que reservé, durante la madrugada, le tocaron la puerta, al abrir era el recepcionista junto a la huésped de al lado a quien se le quedó la llave dentro de su habitación y a mi amiga le pidieron que lo dejara pasar (2 am) para ir a través del balcón de una habitación a la otra. Es absurdo e inaudito ya que se supone que recepción debe tener llaves maestras pero no solo eso, como irrumpen en la privacidad de un huésped para atender a otro a esa hora! 2. Cuando reserve 5 habitaciones, por error cancele una, siendo toda la reserva no reembolsable, no pasó ni 20 minutos y llame al hotel para que me reinstalaran la reserva que había cancelado y no quisieron . Me comuniqué a Expedía, quien hizo varios intentos con el hotel, pero sin éxito. Me parece una falta de empatía total.

The room didn’t look like the pictures I saw in Expedia. The bathroom window was very dirty. Common areas didn’t look clean either. Even though in Expedia it was mentioned that it was located 5 minutes from Quinta Avenida, the front desk employee explained that we had to walk 45 minutes to get to the tourist area of Quinta Avenida. We didn’t feel safe in the hotel location, that is why we didn’t complain or ask to change rooms; I made a reservation in another hotel and left the same day. I wasn’t able to cancel the booking because I had already checked in; but I preferred to spend the following 6 nights in a clean, well lit hotel located in a safe area.

This hotel is located in the nothern part of the city. Contrary to what some have said, this area is safe, even in the evening when it's dark. The LED street lights are so bright, it looks like day time. Police car roam streets on a regular basis. So yes, we did feel safe walking the streets at night. It's a 45 minute walk on fith avenue to "El Centro", but you will find plenty of businesses on the way within 10 to 15 minutes of walking. Two public beaches are within walking distance. On 30th Avenue, you will be able to dine for less than 100 $ (Pesos). This is where locals do their shopping. We enjoyed our 11 night stay at this hotel. Remember, it's a 3 star proprety, bring your own coffee machine. There is a fridge.

The hotel staff was great. The rooms are comfortable. The noise from neighborhood dogs was almost unbearable. One night they fought and barked all night making sleeping impossible. The cafe never was open. The neighborhood has no restaurants. Shopping district is miles away. I would not stay there again.

Excelente estancia, está muy cerca de Playa Punta Esmeralda la cual es una de las más bonitas que tiene Playa del Carmen, pero el hotel si está muy alejado del centro, yo no tuve ningún inconveniente con este tema, atención muy amable en recepción y cuenta con una alberca en el techo, todo bien.

Room was huge. Overall pleased with that. BUT- Very limited "amenities". Not even an ice machine. Only 1 chair in our room. Breakfast was white bread & a toaster, butter & a jelly, coffee or water. Getting a blanket and towels was like asking for gold. Never got an extra pillow. Only 1 trash can in the room (in bath) Overall it was decent place to base our trip from, we only slept there. But it is not a resort that you'd want to lounge around at. Neighborhood was a little sketchy too, although nothing bad ever happened to us or rental car. If you're used to staying at a 4 or 5 star resort, you will probably be disappointed. If not, it's not bad for the money!

We didn't like the location of the hotel as there is really nothing around (no restaurants, no café or shopping) and we didn't feel quite safe in the neighborhood. At night it was quite noisy with a lot of dog barking so we and our toddler had poor sleep. Unfortunately they had closed their restaurant without any notice which we were planning on using and the bar and events that they praise on their website don't exist at all. The staff was friendly though! Most terrible customer service we've ever experienced though was through expedia!

Arriver dans un hôtel loin de tout sans eau dans l'évier. Pas de chaise, pas de table , pas de téléphone. Restaurant ouvert presque jamais. Cuisinier très sympathiques, mais pas souvent là malheureusement. Pool bar décrit inexistant. Sang sur les serviettes. Je dirais que le 8 sur 10 de la description était généreux. Impossible de dormir la nuit. Chien qui jappe, bruit de bouteilles, cries. On entend tout dans l'hôtel. Tout. Il y a un puit de lumière qui unit les 5 étages. Sur ce tu entend ce qui se passe au 5e même si tu es au premier. J'ai dormi en moyenne 2 heures par nuit. Honnêtement pour le rapport qualité prix, ce fut mes pires vacances à vie. Il a fallu je demande pour avoir le safe d'installer. Après il y avait de la poussière de plâtre partout dans la chambre. Parcontre, la réception a été très sympatique pour m'avoir fait tallation.Il te donne 2 petites bouteilles d'eau au début et après tu te débrouilles. La réception m'en avait offert une autre, car j'étais dans l'incompréhension, mais sinon on m'a dit que je devais en acheter. C'est comme si tu faisais du camping indoor et c'était un hôtel non remboursable. Les points fort de cet hôtel est que les gens de la réception, le nettoyage des chambres et le cuisinier sont très sympatiques. La chambre est belle, mais vide. Il y a une piscine mais très petite. C'est un cartier loin des zones touristiques.

The hotel staff was great. The rooms are comfortable. The noise from neighborhood dogs was almost unbearable. One night they fought and barked all night making sleeping impossible. The cafe never was open. The neighborhood has no restaurants. Shopping district is miles away. I would not stay there again.

We decided to stay here because the pictures and reviews were good but it was FAR from it. We got to the hotel and front desk was friendly. We payed $25 for remote controls for the room but that was given back at the end of your stay. We got to the room and I couldn’t believe my eyes! The room was dirty! They didn’t bother to clean the closet mirror which had lots of finger prints! The worst part was the restroom!! The restroom mirror had toothpaste splashed and water marks ALL over it! I wish I was exaggerating but I am not. The table in there is plastic, old and stained. The bed was soo soft too. It was so bad we left the next day and stayed at a different hotel. We didn’t care to loose the money we had payed for (1 week) we had to get out! Do not stay here! I don’t know how people stay there and I don’t know why the hotel staff thinks it is ok and in good condition for people to stay.
