Very convenient location. Hotel under renovations, however the room we had was totally renovated. Despite renovations they did provide a good breakfast. The one downside was that the WIFI was very spotty. Staff tried to help but to no avail. A minor inconvenience. Excellent pub with an extensive menu within 5 minute walk.

The recent renovations were fitting and made this property a lovely place in which to stay. The entire building looked clean with modern amenities. Fitness area was clean with equipment in good working order. Highly recommended!

Beware! I stayed 6 nights and was bitten up by bed bugs in room 212. Calls to the manager were not returned. The staff did give me bags to isolate my clothes and belongings to try to not bring bugs home. I tried to find them myself but only found trash between the bed and wall. They said they would investigate after I left but didn’t even ask the room number so it is doubtful. Housekeeping only comes if you call by 9 and request it. Perhaps that is the reason it isn’t very clean. On a positive note, I thought breakfast was fine with hot food. The breakfast attendant was helpful. The rooms were quiet (with exception of the communicated construction after 8 am). The parking and location were also good. The stay would have been fine if it wasn’t infested.

Extremely noisy with adults and kids running around, screaming in hallways and in rooms. Dirty with popcorns under the bed, blood stain on shower curtain, urine stain on the toilet bowl rim. We asked for room change, they said “they’ll keep an eye out for it” which made no sense. Obviously no follow-up about that and we got zero sleep heading into an important work meeting. Will never stay here again.

Room was quite dirty. Crumbs and wrappers on the floor, lots of stains on the bed skirt, chairs looked very dirty. Our key cards needed to be redone 3x, which was frustrating. We will not stay here again.

Other than the floor looking like someone walked around while shaving their pubes, it was a really nice room! Really comfortable bed! But thankfully I brought my own pillow cases as there were some stains on the original ones and brought my own cleaning supplies to wipe everything down with and was able to clean most of the hair off the floor! It was really bad in the bathroom!

Lots of restaurants within waking distance. Beds very comfortable. Clean. Only issue was the loud electric heater. Cold night so had to get up a couple of times to turn off and on and off.

Great property for a quick overnight before catching a flight. Room was clean and quiet. We were in a renovated accessible room which had two beds (this is rare)! No grab bar in the shower or near the toilet which I would have expected for an accessible space. And a regular height toilet (instead of taller toilet). Hoping those few things get rectified but otherwise it was a good stay

The whole third floor wreaked of smoked even though it's a non smoking facility. We immediately asked for a different room and floor and promptly got moved to the 4th floor. Did not smell like smoke but the room was damp and smelled moldy.

Ask about hockey tournament stays and if they have one while you are there ask for a different floor. We had 20 adults and children playing literally outside our door for over 2 hours. Yelling and screaming and a hockey net set up right in the hallway. Couldn’t even hear the TV to drown out the noise it was so bad. Called downstairs and all we got was a “they aren’t allowed to do that”. No one came up to ask them to go to their rooms or be quiet. Kids sent to bed around 8:30 and parent hung out right outside our door into to the rooms across from us until after 9:30pm. Checking out when asked about our stay and I told him what happened all we got was a “I will tell my manager”. No sorry or anything. Room and property was lovely but noise and lack of hotel help moving us or getting them to stop wasn’t worth the price we paid. And it wasn’t cheap and probably more than the discount rate the hockey teams got.

The hotel gave up 3 of my 5 rooms. 1 room was fine (1 King Suite). 4 rooms were supposed to be 2 queen beds in each. These 4 rooms were given away when I booked through Expedia months ago. They said they can only give me 4 rooms with 1 King bed and a pull-out couch in each. My guests were 3 & 4 per room. I don't want my guests sleeping on pull-out couches. As I couldn't wait for theylm to fix this error, I accepted 2 rooms with the king & pull-out. I waited on them to obtain the 2 queen bed room a few hours later. Because of this error, I won't be booking blocks of rooms on Expedia, ever.

Got there after a 5 hour red eye flight with my young daughter for a cheer competition. I purposely booked the nught before so we coukd arrive and have a room. They assumed we no showed and gave our room away. Worst cuetomer service ai have ever experienced.

Property rules says it accepts credit cards but nowhere says the only accept way to have a deposit paid is by credit card. We travel at least 3 times a year and I do not use credit cards. We always pay by debit and when the property demands a deposit, we always use the debit card or cash. The staff tried to be friendly but they straight told us we couldn’t check in. We were into town for a volleyball tournament in a hotel recommended by Ontario Volleyball Assoc. and were not allowed to check in. Unbelievable ! Then a second staff came in and told us the same thing - we couldn’t check in. I offered to pay the deposit by debit card, by cash and even paying more than required but the staff said they could do nothing. I have to ask a friend to send a form with his credit card number. I never, ever had this kind of issue before, even on hotels of the same chain. It was frustrating and very stressing. In the next tournaments, even being recommended by the volleyball association, we will not stay or recommend the property.

Hotel seems nicely renovated. The newly renovated bathroom is particularly nice at this hotel. It's spacious, clean, and convenient. Breakfast was nice, too. One thing to note; if you receive a booking confirmation that only lists the address as "Kitchner, Ontario, N2P 2E9", please note that the actual full address of this hotel is, "4355 King St." You must remember this, if you're using a rideshare app to get there, because the app will pick up a different Holiday Inn & Suites in Waterloo that's just 20 minutes away from this location instead of this one. You'll either need to type in the full name that includes "Kitchner Southeast" or the actual full address. That's how I ended up at the Waterloo location and had to pay again to get to this right location. Otherwise, everything was great.

Great hotel option within minutes of Highway 401. Nice clean hotel with friendly staff. The free breakfast wasn't too bad as they had both cold and four hot options (eggs, bacon, beans, home fries). Overall great value and location.

Renovated rooms are very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed and good desk area and reliable wifi for working. Convenient free parking. Eggs on breakfast buffet were inedible. Very dry and crumbly. Thankfully the rest of the buffet and coffee selection was very good.

The room was clean and recently renovated, and the staff were very friendly. However, the breakfast was terrible - some kind of powdered eggs, the potatoes didn't taste great either, and no milk for the tea. The wifi internet was flaky - very weak and often just cutting out. There was no place to hang towels in the bathroom, and it was unclear how to control the a/c. Also, you could only enter the property if you were travelling south on King Street, otherwise you had to go through the mall parking lot, and then cross four lanes of traffic (with no traffic lights to help you) to get to the hotel entrance.

We received a free upgrade to a suite upon arrival which was nice. Woke up early to get some free breakfast before it was over at 10am. The breakfast area was busy! People were loading up on plate fulls of free food and even grabbing more to take with them. There was one staff member fed to the wolves trying to cook and refill food as fast as it was going empty. It was evident she was extremely stressed out and no one was helping her. People kept interrupting her and asking her where more food was, to the point she couldn't even make more. We ended up walking away with no breakfast. Was kind of disturbed as we checked out at 11 to see people sitting around the lobby with plate fulls of food that they hadn't eaten yet and decided to take with them. The breakfast experience is the reason for the 4 star vs. 5 star review. I understand you can't control guests' rude behaviour, but at least have enough staff on hand to facilitate/help successfully run the free breakfast you are advertising to every one.

I enjoyed my stay at the Kitchener Holiday Inn. The staff at the front desk were professional, friendly, and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean, and well arranged. The bed was very comfortable, as were the bedding, especially the long pillows. The only quibble I have was that the air conditioning was noisy at start of each cooling cycle and I eventually had to turn it off because it was disturbing my sleep. The choices for breakfast were very good and the staff did an excellent job in keeping the breakfast counter clean and well stocked. Overall my experience at this hotel was excellent.
