Tru by Hilton Lafayette River Ranch

When we first showed up, no one was at the front desk. A man finally showed up in casual clothes, didn’t have a uniform on so I didn’t know if he’d worked there. A side entrance door to the hotel didn’t accept a key card the whole time we stayed there. The door to our room would not close right, literally had to force it to shut. We went to the pool the following day and our key cards would not work, had to go talk to the front desk representative again. While in the pool, employees would come out adjacent to the pool and smoke cigarettes. The room was dirty, had dust and an old sock on the floor. The only good thing was the gym, quality equipment.

The room was comfy. Enough room for the four of us. The pool has really weird and inconvenient hours. 10am til 8pm.

A/C WAS LEAKING WATER ONTO THE FLOOR WHICH GOT OUR CLOTHING WET. CEILING HAD WATER DAMAGE ON THE SHEETROCK SEAMS. BREAKFAST WAS OK. BEDS WERE WORN OUT. GOT STUCK ON THE ELEVATOR TWO DIFFERENT TIMES. ME AND ANOTHER GUY HAD TO PHYSICALLY PRY OPEN THE DOOR TO GET OUT. IT WAS TIRING WALKING UP AND DOWN FOUR FLIGHTS OF STAIRS FOR THE THREE DAY WEEKEND. ONLY ONE OF THE TWO ELEVATORS WAS WORKING

First impression wasn’t great with the staff wearing t-shirts and sweatpants. I was a little aggravated when I was promised at the beginning of the week that my two reservations could be merged only to find they couldn’t once I got there. I called ahead of time to make sure everything would be taken care of once I got there. I had to book an extra day last minute once my tournament schedule was announced. Walking into the room, I didn’t like the lack of a closet or somewhere to store my clothes for my 3 night stay. The room also wasn’t very clean. There’s mold/mildew in every corner a nook in the shower. There’s piles of dirt and dust in the corners and baseboards of the room. I also didn’t understand why the hotel has one small ice machine. I got in trouble for halfway filling my small ice chest to cool some waters because playing singles in 90+ degree weather. There were also people there for a softball tournament doing the same thing but actually filling there’s up. It was strange to me that there wouldn’t be one on every floor like every other hotel I’ve stayed at. The walls of the rooms are paper thin. Everytime someone opened their door, it sounded like they were trying to open mine. I heard EVERYTHING in the hallways. Despite the overall negative experience I will say that the staff was consistently friendly and helpful.

The only complaint I have about this hotel was the breakfast buffet was pretty scarce. The pancake machine was broken and there were basic breakfast foods just lacking that are in most other hotel breakfasts. The room we stayed in smelled like it had been freshly painted and there was water damage on the ceiling. The hotel lobby was nice and smelled wonderful. The pool was also very nice.

I needed to come to Lafayette for less than happy reasons, but this hotel made the trip a bit easier. The location can’t be beat, it’s clean and comfortable, the colors are sun, and the staff are all kind and helpful. The breakfast was hearty and delicious! I have already told my extended family that they should stay here every time! We didn’t use the pool, but having it there as an option to cool off and hang out which a huge bonus. I even got to use the Peloton bike in the fitness center with provided headphones!

Nice hotel and staff. Only con was that the pool area was closed for our stay there. It was being chemicaly treated.

The staff was fantastic! They were friendly and very helpful! The room was perfect—loved the shower! We were also a super fan of the pool table and outdoor area. And whoever made the complimentary breakfast—hats off to the chef! It was lovely! Thank you for a wonderful stay! We definitely will be choosing tru by Hilton on future vacations.

Kids board games were either missing half or complete sets. Too bad, i know its not the staff fault. The bathroom did have mold on the ceiling, not excessive but present.

The room had peeling wallpaper and a broken toilet. The covered patio furniture had ripped cushions that were really gross.

Shower was not clean, otherwise the room was nice. Breakfast was a little disappointing. The toast and pancake machines were extremely slow, therefore there was a line to use them. The eggs were good but there was no sausage. The coffee was good!

Absolutely the worst hotel room we have ever had. The room was filthy. There was poop smeared on the wall in the bathroom and a man had shaved in the bathroom sink and the hair was still in there. And the floors were disgusting. The room looked like a room at a childs summer camp. No curtains on the window. Had a shade that did not fir the window so it was about 3 inches too short to meet the bottom so hello sunshine bright and early. Not one decorative item in room. No throw pillows, pictures on the wall, curtains, chairs to sit in or anything. Very stark. Just 2 beds in an open room. However the water was hot, the air was cold and it was quite. And the beds were comfortable. The lobby was nice.

Staff acted very weird towards me. Stains were on the covers. Just overall not clean.

Breakfast was powdered eggs, nasty looking bacon, pancakes, cereal and yogurt. Staff was friendly but not helpful when asked about the area. Our room was okay but the bathroom in my son’s room had extensive water damage.

The location was great and so many amazing food choices, but thats as far as i would go on compliments. The place wasnt very clean as far as the rooms and pool. The pool had sand in it from, what the pool guy said, a few weeks ago, and somehow it wasn't removed. The "room service", was literally making beds and replacing towels. No new sheets and the bathrooms werent cleaned even though we were there for 6 days. We were staying with multiple friends on the same hall and they all felt the same as us. One friend even went as far as getting her own cleaning supplies from walmart to clean their room after finding a booger on the wall. Most likely our first and last stay at Tru.

The Staff was wonderfull and greeted you with a smile. The room was clean and inviting. The hallways and elevators however were not up to par. At my front door was a used band aid and the hallways along with the elevators needed vacuuming. However my overall stay was nice.

We found trash in the chair and a dirt wash cloth in the bathroom.

Room was fine except for bathroom. There was hair in the shower as well as obvious spots of mold. Also there was only hand soap in the shower, no body wash. Check in and check out were satisfactory.

Room was dirty, the neighbors on the next floor made noise all night, will never book again

Our room was dirty. Stains on the floor mold on the shower walls. We cancelled our stay after the first night.

Rooms are small. No closets. Wallpaper was peeling. Very outdated. Shiwer had no pressure.

Beds are extremely hard. Woke up stiff with a runny nose due to air quality. Area is safe but there are better options nearby. We actually didn't even stay in the room the second night due to being so uncomfortable. Booked at Fairfield Marriot down the road. Staff was friendly but would not recommend this hotel if you're expecting a good rest.

Nice property. Modern/contemporary style. Very small rooms.

Fairly basic, even austere. Staff very friendly. Breakfast very basic. Bathrooms decent and the Bedroom is functionally fine, but soundproofing is not great. Getting an uniteruppted nights sleep seems to be a bonus due to noise from above (footsteps on solid floor) and banging doors and voices from corridor. 24 hour FOC hot tea & coffee is good!

Staff was SO friendly!! Breakfast was better than most places we’ve stayed. Wish rooms had coffee maker!

The staff was great. The rooms are very noisy from the wall mounted AC that turns on and off all night to hearing every sound your neighbors make. The wood bed frame sticks out to far making a knee hazard for sure.

Rooms seem paper thin. Could hear everything outside, inside the halls, rooms next door. Ridiculously loud in the rooms. Had to use a rain sound machine to try and drown out everything else. Two other couples stayed as well and had the same experience in different rooms. I was on the second floor. They stayed on the first. Will never stay again.

Room was really small

Pros: staff is very welcoming and friendly, and the property is overall as advertised. Cons: maintenance working in the hallway at night, odd and unexpectedly loud. Room storage, even for a one night stay, is poor. No drawers, and the single roll out table does not have any functional chairs. Only sitting location is the bed. The posters on the wall advise we “use the wall hooks” all 3 of them or the “space under the beds” for storage.

Charged for 5 nights when I stayed 4! Called all the numbers I could and no one could tell me why or offer a refund.. otherwise, clean and quiet place

Blair was friendly and went above and beyond. He recommended places to eat, things to do and was awesome!

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mostly positive experience, but there were a few key areas that left me disappointed. First, the room was clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The breakfast options were also great—plenty of variety to start the day off right. Unfortunately, my experience at check-in was less than ideal. The front desk staff didn't acknowledge me as I approached the desk, and I had to be the one to initiate the interaction. Once I did, the tone I received was condescending, which made the entire check-in process feel uncomfortable. It was disappointing, as the rest of the stay was pleasant. While the hotel itself met most of my expectations, the lack of hospitality at check-in definitely impacted my overall experience. I hope they work on improving this aspect for future guests.

I think this will be my last time staying here. I was disappointed with my stay for many reasons this time. The door to my room wouldn't close, unless you lift/pull and slam it shut. The milk they served during breakfast was spoiled, and lastly I had to go down stairs to get my own clean towels, because the housekeeping staff was down, 1 out of 3. I don’t think I will recommend anyone stay here while visiting in Lafayette. Sorry! Not sorry.

The guy that checked us in was absolutely so friendly and funny. After traveling many hours in a car he was a positive and very warming and inviting to greet us.

Was told on this app that they offered a free crib for our baby which they did not and then looked at me like I was stupid for asking

Clean, safe, and efficient. A good road trip hotel. Good safe location near a hospital, golf course, and new stores. Accessible parking spaces are not built to the 2010 ADA Standards. Big miss. Putting the parking drainage grate in the only van accessible designated parking space is unsafe. Access aisle were missing. Signs are too low. Inside ADA compliance was good.

The room was clean and stocked well. Breakfast bar clean and everything fresh. It was a short stay with all the amenities.
