Our stay at The Shanghai EDITION was exceptional from start to finish. First and foremost, I want to commend the staff, they were extremely helpful, professional, and polite throughout our entire stay. The room was perfect, offering a stunning view of both The Bund and the Oriental Pearl Tower. The location couldn’t be better, within walking distance to all the main attractions along Nanjing Road, which made exploring the city incredibly convenient. While the hotel is on the pricier side, I believe it’s absolutely worth it. The breakfast was a solid 10/10, delicious, with a great variety, and I would highly recommend including it in your stay. The only downside to our visit occurred at the rooftop bar on the evening of September 12th. Unfortunately, the hostess assumed we were not hotel guests without asking for a room number, which felt dismissive. Additionally, the rooftop terrace has a high minimum spend requirement, it would be nice if this were waived or discounted for staying guests. We also felt a bit uncomfortable as it was quite apparent that two of the waiters (one medium height with black hair dressed in all black, and the other with short reddish/orange hair wearing a white t-shirt and black pants) were talking about us after we sat down. This detracted from what could have been a more enjoyable experience.

The Shanghai Edition has a superb location, great facilities, and a terrace with a “to die for” view, but what settles this hotel apart is its staff. Always attentive, aimed to please and ready to solve any “challenge”. Benjamin being the concierge extraordinaire,will make you feel right at home and make your stay an unforgettable one. He will give you the best recommendations and will help avoid tourists traps. He is a gem and The Shanghai Edition must keep him at all costs. P.S Their brunch is top notch and a must try. As a seasoned travel, with demanding tastes, that has had the luck to see the world, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Shanghai 🤗

C'est un endroit exceptionnel à Shanghai. Nous y allons deux fois par an et c'est toujours parfait. La vue des chambres sur le Bund est incroyable à partir du 20eme étage. Le barre en terrasse est top et le western restaurant en bas à un rapport qualité prix très intéressant. Nous y avons tester le menu pour deux et vraiment c'était parfait. Nous recommandons cet hôtel à ceux qui recherche un endroit raffiné.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff is really welcoming upon my arrival. The room is very clean and very comfortable. The hotel is located in the best location in Shanghai. It is a short walk to the bund. It is also located right next to the walking street. You are surrounded by many food stores, restaurants, and shopping centers. The hotel also has a rooftop bar. I had a chance to enjoy it. There are two types of seating: 1. The outer seating with a sofa requires a minimum spend of at least 1000 RMB. It does provide you with the best view of the bund. 2. The inner seating is a bar-type seating with no minimum spend requirement. I highly recommend booking this hotel, and I will book this hotel again upon my arrival back to Shanghai.

What a delightful experience! My 6 day stay could not have been better. From the concierge to house keeping, everything top notch. The hotels restaurants and rooftop view and the Le Labo scented air. Spacious bedroom and bath with separate shower. Enormous windows Nespresso machine.etc etc. Loved it. Didn't want to leave

The concierge staff (didn’t manage to get his name but he seems to be someone senior) helped me to check with the courier service and managed to track that the parcel was at the courier office. He helped to arrange with the courier for me to pick it up on my way to the airport. The bellboy (his name is Victor) helped me to call for a Premium XL car to the airport. He also helped me to request the driver to send me to the courier office to collect my parcel on the way to the airport. He even helped to pay the driver first and I then transferred money to him via WeChat. He could speak English proficiently and was really of great help to explain to the driver since my Mandarin wasn’t as proficient. The fantastic service from the hotel staff made my stay at the Shanghai Edition all the more memorable! I must say that the staff all look really good too! 🙂 If I ever go back Shanghai, I’ll be staying at the Shanghai Edition again for sure!

Phenomenal. Incredible value for money. Fluent English front desk. Incredible service - helped me with a delivery my friend had sent to the hotel for me. Unfortunately for our first time in Shanghai we were too busy to make use of much outside the room, however try and book the punch room as the view onto the bund is top tier. Same as the rooftop bar. Housekeeping noticed I was not wearing anything on my feet so placed slippers in front of me! Such kind kind people. I have stayed in some top hotels around the world and this one is up there!

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff is really welcoming upon my arrival. The room is very clean and very comfortable. The hotel is located in the best location in Shanghai. It is a short walk to the bund. It is also located right next to the walking street. You are surrounded by many food stores, restaurants, and shopping centers. The hotel also has a rooftop bar. I had a chance to enjoy it. There are two types of seating: 1. The outer seating with a sofa requires a minimum spend of at least 1000 RMB. It does provide you with the best view of the bund. 2. What a delightful experience! My 6 day stay could not have been better. From the concierge to house keeping, everything top notch. The hotels restaurants and rooftop view and the Le Labo scented air. I had a mix of experiences during my recent three-night stay at the Shanghai Edition. On the positive side, the staff were consistently courteous and helpful throughout my visit. Their professionalism was a highlight, as they made a real effort to ensure that guests felt welcome. He even helped to pay the driver first and I then transferred money to him via WeChat. He could speak English proficiently and was really of great help to explain to the driver since my Mandarin wasn’t as proficient. The fantastic service from the hotel staff made my stay at the Shanghai Edition all the more memorable! The Shanghai Edition has a superb location, great facilities, and a terrace with a “to die for” view, but what settles this hotel apart is its staff. Always attentive, aimed to please and ready to solve any “challenge”. Benjamin being the concierge extraordinaire,will make you feel right at home and make your stay an unforgettable one. He will give you the best recommendations and will help avoid tourists traps. He is a gem and The Shanghai Edition must keep him at all costs. P.S Their brunch is top notch and a must try. As a seasoned travel, with demanding tastes, that has had the luck to see the world, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Shanghai 🤗

Always attentive, aimed to please and ready to solve any “challenge”. Benjamin being the concierge extraordinaire,will make you feel right at home and make your stay an unforgettable one. He will give you the best recommendations and will help avoid tourists traps. He is a gem and The Shanghai Edition must keep him at all costs. P.S Their brunch is top notch and a must try. As a seasoned travel, with demanding tastes, that has had the luck to see the world, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Shanghai 🤗

C'est un endroit exceptionnel à Shanghai. Nous y allons deux fois par an et c'est toujours parfait. La vue des chambres sur le Bund est incroyable à partir du 20eme étage. Le barre en terrasse est top et le western restaurant en bas à un rapport qualité prix très intéressant. Nous y avons tester le menu pour deux et vraiment c'était parfait. Nous recommandons cet hôtel à ceux qui recherche un endroit raffiné.

I loved everything about my stay at the a Shanghai Edition. The staff were lovely, the breakfast was so generous and delicious, the bathrooms and bathroom amenities were so luxurious. Don’t hesitate!!

Update: besides the lengthy check in process which I found very annoying, everything else was great. The hotel location itself is unbeatable, 5min walk to the bund and convenient for Didi pickup drop offs. I especially want to thank the housekeeper that was in charge of my room. She noticed I was using a retainer and left me single use retainer cleaning cases in my room everyday. Also I brought my own pillow, and she left a pillow spray as well. Lastly, want to thank the staff at the pickup locations (East gate), super friendly.

This property is one of Shanghai’s highest rated so I booked it for 6 nights and my first visit to the area. It has a very modern, hip vibe - reminding me of a few W Hotels in the US, with dark lighting (especially in the elevators) and mood music. The room was nice, bed + pillows + towels superb, and staff very helpful. I do think it’s overpriced but enjoyed my stay.

Friendly staff and all very service minded. Location was great and the hotel in general was great. But for this level of hotel, there were some maintenance needed. For example small scratches on white walls, very minor things. But I wouldnt expect to see that in a hotel at this level. But very good stay in general.
