The shower had poor drainage, there was no storage for toiletries. The spa facilities were below par: some facilities did not work. Overall underwhelming hotel

The property is situated on top of a hill, offering a very nice view, which is definitely one of its highlights. Unfortunately, the facilities don’t live up to expectations. While the building appears modern at first glance, it is noticeably run down. The walls are dirty, and the carpets are in terrible condition with unpleasant brown stains. Our room was fairly clean, but it clearly needs refreshing. We noticed ripped pillows and requested replacements, but no one ever came to address it. The bathroom also left much to be desired, with dirty corners and some tiles that were not well maintained. The swimming pool, located on the top floor, does offer a great view. However, it is quite small with very limited seating. During our stay, people occupied the few available spots for a long time, so I never had the chance to properly relax there. The gym is also very small and equipped with only the basics, which was disappointing for a hotel of this category. Overall, the stay was okay but certainly not what you’d expect from a 5-star property. I would rate it more in the 2-3 star range, as there is a lot of work needed to bring it up to standard.

Lovely spa and breakfast was excellent. The free workshops that they run on all kinds of holistic therapies was a big plus. The water circuit spa was included in our stay and was lovely to do every day after a day out and about.

Labels on items would have been useful as there was a great deal of variety; particularly with milk products as it was unclear which containers had whole, semi-kimmed or alternative e.g. oat milk. Rooms were serviced each day and a bottle of mineral water replenished. There was no option to keep your towel once used; bed linen was also regularly changed. I prefer hotels to be more eco-friendly. Having information in the room regarding to spa treatment and wellness classes and any associated costs would help decision-making. Booking classes and spa was fine, do it at least the day before. One of the two cafe/restaurants was closed. The cafe doubled as a bar with limited offerings. Wines were the worst we had the entire stay in The Algarve and we missed being able to have a nightcap in a cosy bar. Hotel was quiet, but unfortunately the room we were allocated had the cafe on the floor above; noisy with scraping chairs and movement from around 7 a.m. The hotel moved us to a quiet room on request with no fuss. 10 to 15 minutes walk into Alvor village with a slight uphill incline on the return journey. Good lighting and footpaths, so very safe.

The breakfast was fantastic as was the staff. The spa was well equipped and very relaxing. Two of the three days we used it we had the whole spa to ourselves. The gym equipment was all the latest and in great condition. It was a short distance to the beach for an early morning run and was deserted on the days I ran. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel Alvor. The rooms were decent and a fair size. The hotel staff were accommodating and the spa was very relaxing. The restaurant on the property but I only ate breakfast there because it was included with my stay. The breakfast buffet was decent and the concentrated on healthier options. Only thing is you have to ask for more food where getting the food options from the kitchen. If you choose to stay here, it is a good idea to have a car. It is a bit of a walk to get to restaurants in the area. Parking is free at the hotel which is a bit of a luxury because most places charge you per day to park your car. One complaint I do have is the state of the carpets in the facility. There were absolutely filthy and could use a serious cleaning or find an alternative to having carpet. Other than that, I would recommend staying at this hotel.

Staff were really helpful and attentive, helped arrange boat trips and taxis for us making the whole trip a lot easier. Had a fab stay. Food at the breakfast buffet was great, lots of healthy choices and had daily specials cooked fresh. Only comment would be about cleanliness, room generally was clean but a couple of things like grouting in the shower and that the room didn’t get cleaned throughout our stay. We got fresh towels and bedding daily but nothing else in the room was cleaned. We didn’t get new glassware or have used cups/teapots removed. Not a major at all and didn’t impact our stay but felt like this would have made it feel a bit more five star. Also be aware that the shower and toilet area is in a glass box with no privacy screen 😂

I was really looking forward to this hotel because of the reviews but left very disappointed. Our bathroom stunk like urine, I complained to the front desk but all they did was light essential oils. There were stains all over the carpets from previous guests, stains along all the hallway carpets. Cleanliness was definitely not a top priority. There also was no blanket on our beds. Only a thin sheet, which I thought was very odd. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, it’s not the relaxing, gorgeous hotel it claims it is, and is certainly not close to 5 stars.

The restaurant on the property but I only ate breakfast there because it was included with my stay. The breakfast buffet was decent and the concentrated on healthier options. Only thing is you have to ask for more food where getting the food options from the kitchen. If you choose to stay here, it is a good idea to have a car. It is a bit of a walk to get to restaurants in the area. Parking is free at the hotel which is a bit of a luxury because most places charge you per day to park your car. One complaint I do have is the state of the carpets in the facility. There were absolutely filthy and could use a serious cleaning or find an alternative to having carpet. Other than that, I would recommend staying at this hotel.

Das Hotel ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Service ist sehr freu und Rezeption ist 24 h besetzt. Lage ist super, die Stadt und der Strand sind gut fußläufig zu erreichen. Für die Sauberkeit gibt's etwas Punktabzug, der Teppich am Bett war fleckig und auch Handtücher und Bettwäsche hatten hin und wieder kleine Flecken (die offensichtlich auch beim Waschen nicht rausgehen - fand ich trotzdem nicht so toll). Beim Frühstück ist für jeden was dabei. Wir haben meist draußen neben dem Infinitypool gefrühstückt und hatten einen Traumhaften Ausblick auf die Ortschaft und das Meer. Wir waren insgesamt neun Tage dort und hatten einen angenehmen Aufenthalt.

Hotel casi nuevo ideal para relajarse. Buen spa con una hora de acceso gratis al día y poca gente (alas 15 y las16h solos) El desayuno variado y buen café como no podía ser de otra forma en Portugal. La piscina en la azotea algo pequeña y pocas tumbonas sin sombra, pero solo subimos una vez. Solo un problema con el aire acondicionado que era muy ruidoso e imposible dormir con él encendido. El chico de recepción nos dijo que era igual en todas las habitaciones, pero a los dos días hablamos con Daniela y nos cambiaron de habitación. Buena opción para la zona de Portimao y Alvor. A 5 minutos en coche de la playa de los tres hermanos donde se puede aparcar todo el día por 2 € La playa de Rocha a 10 minutos en coche. Buena playa también de arena blanca y limpiacon parking a 0,80€ la hora. A 5 minutos en coche de Alvor donde hay muchas opciones para cenar.

I had a great time. Highlights for me included: the view from the rooftop, friendly and accommodating staff, health workshops offered throughout the day, cozy rooms, and relaxing spa with familiar and new therapies. This place is perfect for a getaway to reflect, rejuvenate and relax. I would not come to this particular hotel if you are looking to party, dance, or drink a lot. The hotel and surrounding area is not designed for that type of vacation. The beach was a 10-15 min walk away which was pefect . Some small things I wished I had known: the mediterranean restaurant was closed due to renovations, I thought I paid for inclusive meals and drinks but only breakfast was included (that could have been my mistake with reading though), the hotel isn't really suited for drinking so there isn't much of a cocktail selection and the alcoholic drinks took a while for them to make -- I just went to the store to get my own bottle for the week. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Very friendly staff

We had a lovely time at Longevity Health and Wellbeing. The staff were incredibly helpful however, when the Spa receptionist was asked if there was a lift, she abruptly said no, as Longevity is trying to encourage people to exercise. We totally understand this is the theme of the hotel but it felt as though those who are not as able or fit were not welcome. The breakfast was lovely, with lots of choice and lovely fresh ingredients. The rooms were also really well presented. Thanks to everyone at the main reception who always made us feel welcome. And the lady with the beautiful smile who greeted us in the breakfast area, thank you. Susan

Excellent hotel with great service Breakfast had great variety and quality and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our shower flooded the room on our first night but we were moved seamlessley to another with no problem.

The hotel overall was alright, and considering the price, what we got was okay. The room itself was excellent – very spacious, clean, and comfortable. However, we expected more from a five-star hotel. Staff service was underwhelming and communication difficult at times due to limited English. Except Lucas, he was great. Food was the biggest disappointment. For a hotel with “Health and Wellness” in the name, we expected nourishing meals. The breakfast buffet had fresh fruit, but gluten-free options were poor. The bread was inedible, and the gluten-free dessert was just plastic-wrapped sugar pastries. Staff showed little knowledge about intolerances or gluten-free diets. The early checkout breakfast package was another letdown. The night before, reception noted my request for gluten-free bread, eggs, butter, and fruit, while my partner expected a standard meal. What we actually received was just two hard-boiled eggs, a pear, and a small bottle of water to share – far below five-star standard. Many reviews mention the glass bathroom walls with no privacy. This is true, but our suite had an extra enclosed toilet, which we appreciated. For standard rooms, however, this could be an issue, especially for new couples. Amenities were fine but unremarkable, and the décor felt uninspired compared to the promise of a vibrant wellness retreat. Overall, there was a lack of refinement and congruence between what the hotel advertises and what it delivers.

Great stay. Very peaceful ans quiet. Breakfast had many great healthy options. Staff were friendly and accomodating.

Everything was perfect except the receptionists was very unfriendly during check in and throughout our stay.

A bit overpriced property, we had a couple of hiccups but the manager solve them immediately, the gym is way too small and poorly equipped for a wellness hotel, we love the breakfast

Wir hatten eine Woche in diesem Hotel gebucht. Uns hat das abwechslungsreiche Frühstücksangebot sehr gefallen. Alles war lecker und gehoben. Leider läuft man zum Strand mindestens 20 min und das bei der Hitze. Am Pool hat es auch keinen Schatten, sodass man sich dort lange aufhalten kann. Wenn man abends essen gehen will, ist man auf ein Auto angewiesen. Schönes und ruhiges Hotel, aber für jemand der gerne auch den halben Tag am Strand/Pool verbringt ungeeignet.

Fantastic hotel for relaxation. You feel refreshed after a stay here. The food served here is excellent, nutritious and beautifully presented . A 15 minute walk takes you to the beach or into Alvor.

Breakfast was extraordinary, great food delivered from the kitchen and a good, healthy buffet. We sometimes faced minor translation issues when ordering in English, but the staff was always friendly and helpful. If you want to have dinner in the town you have to walk about 15 mins and the way to the highway takes you roughly 15 minutes as well through Portimao, this is probably the only negative to mention. But we can really recommend the venue, we'd definitely come back!

The property is a health and wellness one so it has great SPA facilities included in the booking. Epsom salt room, detox and relaxation showers, indoor swimming pool was warm and jacuzzi was hot, cold swimming pool inside, sauna steam room and a meditation room - these were the best things ever! Only thing to know is breakfast was repetitive and very healthy vibes - so no English breakfast! Mainly egg based breakfast options. But it’s a great stay for the price.

Lovely hotel with good treatments and friendly staff. As a ‘health’ hotel the lunch and dinner menu could be better with more choice and a better selection of salads and vegetables. That way they would get more people staying for meals instead of going out. The little town is a 20 minute walk away as is the beach. Beach lovely and sea very clean.

This was a gem! The hotel was quiet and beautifully simplistic. It was clean and there was an incredible spa. The food was healthy and homemade with a good variety. It was not your typical breakfast( best quality breakfast I’ve had in a long time) I would definitely go back❤️

The early checkout breakfast package was another letdown. The night before, reception noted my request for gluten-free bread, eggs, butter, and fruit, while my partner expected a standard meal. What we actually received was just two hard-boiled eggs, a pear, and a small bottle of water to share – far below five-star standard. Many reviews mention the glass bathroom walls with no privacy. This is true, but our suite had an extra enclosed toilet, which we appreciated. For standard rooms, however, this could be an issue, especially for new couples. Amenities were fine but unremarkable, and the décor felt uninspired compared to the promise of a vibrant wellness retreat. Overall, there was a lack of refinement and congruence between what the hotel advertises and what it delivers.

Great stay. Very peaceful ans quiet. Breakfast had many great healthy options. Staff were friendly and accomodating.
