The property was nice. Staff in the afternoon checking us in were great. She gave us a great recommendation to order pizza (Avalanche Pizza, OMG, so good!). Room was clean and cozy, though mattresses were too firm for our liking. Hot breakfast in the morning was good. We utilized the pool and that only complaint we have are the vents in the pool room are DISGUSTING. They are rusted and appear to have mold on them and mold looks as if it were blown against the wall near the vents. Besides the vents/potential mold needing addressed, we were happy with our stay. If we come back to Athens, we will stay there again.

Over all it was a nice stay. The check in staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, but kinda run down. The carpet looked kinda dirty and the showers water pressure was not very strong at all. The hotel breakfast was good and they had a good selection of things like eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit and muffins. The pool was nice but heavily chlorinated and cold. It was not heated. Overall it was an ok stay for the few days we stayed.

Lady on front desk was very helpful. Room clean although the floor smelt of tobacco which was weird. (Not smoke, actual tobacco). Pool and hot tub was lovely. Beds comfy. I would definitely stay again.

Our stay in Athens was so nice, our double queen room with pull out couch was huge, plenty of room for everyone to spread out and not have to trip over our luggage. They gave us a main floor room so very convenient access to the pool. Pool was open till midnight which the kids were so happy since we got there a little later than planned. Also had a restroom at the pool, no dripping down the hall to the lobby restroom. Everything about our stay was so convenient!

We have stayed here a couple times before. It is a great location with very friendly staff and easy check-in. Our room was very comfortable and super clean (I am very picky). We used the pull-out sofa, and it was fine for our son. The breakfast was well-stocked with typical Hampton Inn waffles, eggs, bacon/sausage, yogurt, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, etc. There was plenty of comfortable seating. The four of us (me, my husband and two kids) used the small workout room and it was fine, with one elliptical, one peloton, and one treadmill, along with free weights. The white chocolate macadamia nut cookies and orange-infused water in the lobby were tasty. The pool was near our room, but the walls were well insulated, and we never heard any noise at all. Overall, an excellent stay and we would recommend!

The beds were not comfortable at all. The water in the shower was not warm and the shower head sprayed the water all over the place. The comforters has stains all over them. The ottoman had a cigarette burn in it and the desk chair had a large black stain on it.

All the staff that we encountered had a great attitude, and the young girl working in the kitchen was very nice and even asked us if there was anything we needed before she closed up. As for the housekeeping, I believe the vacuuming could be better whereas we had crumbs in our room upon arrival and the amount of rags to towels ratio didn't match. Otherwise great place to stay!

We had an excellent stay. The hotel was clean, our room was spotless, the shower head was high enough for tall people (and the water pressure and temperature were also great,) and there was a free breakfast buffet including a Belgian waffles. There is also a decent restaurant within walking distance, and plenty of other restaurants nearby. It's a nine minute drive from Ohio University. We will definitely stay there again.

This hotel was convenient for where we wanted to go, and overall appeared clean until our daughter went to get into bed and found hair in the sheets. She slept on top of the bed the whole night. Room was comfortable and nice breakfast the next morning, but that one issue made us unsure we would come back.

Hampton Inn is one of my best choice. Room is specious and clean. Bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is stylish and clean as well. Amenities are very accurate. Besides, Breakfast was wonderful with nice dinning room. It is very cozy!

The beds and pillows were uncomfortable and the sheets sounded like Dr office bed paper. There was a high pitched ringing noise all night and morning like a hot water boiler heating up. Didn’t even try the breakfast so can’t comment. The options in this are are slim pickings but I won’t pick this one again.

When we arrived for check-in, the clerk informed me that my room with two queen beds was ready. However, I had booked a room with a king bed and a study. I chose this hotel specifically for a room that would suit my family's needs for our stay. When I told the clerk I had reserved a different room, he informed me that I had booked through a third-party (hotels.com) and they had "transmitted the reservation" as a room with two queen beds. I asked if a room with a king bed was available. The only available room was handicap accessible, which means it was lacking the features I had selected (such as a fold-out couch) as concessions to accessibility. I did not arrive for check in until 9 PM, and I believe the hotel simply gave my room away because they assumed I wasn't coming. Additionally, Hampton Inn has moved away from hygienic, single-use soaps and shampoos in favor of cheaper, refillable communal pumps. This is a disgusting practice - who is to say someone didn't tamper with the product in the bottle? I typically book Hampton Inn rooms for my family's travels. I will be finding somewhere else to stay at this point. I am sure I can find another hotel that will not give my room away, tell me I was wrong, and then still charge me $9 for three water bottles.

We booked a king room and when arriving they said they were booked and we were stuck with two queens. Not only did we not get the room we booked, they wanted to charge us $110 MORE than what my reservation confirmation said. Luckily I had just looked at the confirmation and caught it! After going to our room I went to wash my hands and there was an empty soap box. I had to go back down to the front desk to retrieve hand soap. After returning to our room on day 2 we noticed they had “cleaned” the room but left no trash bag or T.P. Once again I found myself going to the front desk to retrieve those items….. Our room was 218 just above the lobby where a speaker sat outside our window. That was fun to listen too all day & evening!🙄

I like that i t is up the top of a hill. I Feel like my motorcycle is safe to park there. It is also a quiet place to stay, away from the road. the Continental breakfast is good and fresh.

I especially liked the breakfast. I personally only ate the oatmeal and fruit. BUT the oatmeal was cooked not a package. Connie at the breakfast area was the best I've ever encountered. Everything was fresh, clean and she was exceptionally welcoming and helpful.
