The hotel staff and Mexican food at this hotel were wonderful! It's very walkable and just a couple blocks from the cathedral of Santa Domingo. The toliet in room 4 did not flush well. Except for that 1 thing the hotel was great for the price! There was even a wedding at the hotel while I was there!

Es excelente el hotel, lo único que creo es que no tienen cuidado con el ruido que hacen en las mañanas los empleados, yo me quedé en una suite que da al área de la comida, desde las 6am gente hablando no tienen cuidado con el ruido que hacen, bajaban las escaleras de la terraza que son de metal parecía que a propósito azotaba los pies, tampoco me cambiaron las toallas.

En general fue una buena estancia, los únicos aspectos que no me agradaron fueron los siguientes: La puerta del baño de mi habitación estaba descuadrada por lo que al cerrarla se volvía a abrir, era imposible tenerla cerrada, y tampoco tenía cerradura, solo un pasador. La habitación en la que se quedaron mis hijos no tenía puerta en el baño ni en la regadera, solo una cortina, por lo que no hay mucha privacidad, eso me parece muy incómodo.

We stayed at Hotel Azul over a a sunny weekend in February. Our room was right next to the cleaning / storage room and stag kept passing by and arranging items loudly at all times. The room’s only window overlooks the passage so we felt very exposed. As in some other hotels in Mexico, the toilets are not separated with a door from the rest of the room, which could be an uncomfortable feeling for some.

Even during Guelaguetza, we had no trouble getting a good night’s sleep. The included breakfast was very good—fresh, well-prepared, and a nice option to have. That said, we didn’t take advantage of it as often as we could have, mostly because we were eager to explore the incredible food scene in Oaxaca. All in all, Hotel Azul was the perfect base camp for exploring one of the most interesting and vibrant cities I’ve ever visited. We’d absolutely stay here again.
