Velbeliggende hotel meget tæt på havnen og masser af gode spisemuligheder m.v. La Rochelle er en yderst charmerende by, som er værd at besøge. Et godt værelse med et lækkert badeværelse. Eneste udfordring er manglende parkeringsmuligheder, men det kan løses ved at parkere på en offentlig p-plads, det er dog ikke helt billigt.

The building layout is weird. Lots of changes in level and passages to reach the room. Broken lift did not help. Young inexperienced staff will need more training to allow this hotel to reach its level. However, very close to the bustle of the old port.

Très bel hotel situé sur le vieux port. Personnel attentionné (encore merci). Chambre spacieuse, literie confortable. Petit déjeuner gourmand avec une personne qui cuisine sur place et est aux petits soins pour vous. Juste 2 bémols : pas de parking dans l'hôtel et vous ne pouvez pas décharger vos bagages au pied de l'hôtel. Toutefois, possibilité de se garer dans le parking payant à 50m ou dans la rue (stationnement payant). Le restaurant ne sert pas de déjeuner ni de dîner. Mais bons nombres de restaurants à proximité immédiate.

Sehr freundliches Personal Sehr gute Hotel-Lage, Parkmöglichkeiten auf öffentlichem Parkplatz mit Vorzugspreis gleich daneben! Leider war die Klimaanlage defekt und es war sehr sehr heiss im Zimmer; freundlicherweise hat man uns sehr rasch 2 Ventilatoren zur Verfügung gestellt, was keine Klimaanlage ersetzt, aber doch angenehmer ist bei der grossen Hitze. Die Fenster konnte man aufgrund des sehr lauten Nachtlebens auch nur am frühen Morgen öffnen.

The location is outstanding! The hotel is in the epicenter of the old city. We would give the hotel our highest ratings if they had not transitioned from summer cooling to winter heating early in September. Our room was uncomfortably warm and there was nothing we could do about it since the hotel had already transitioned from summer cooling to winter heating before the end of September. Our nights were uncomfortably warm and there was nothing which could be done about it!

Upon getting to our room on the third floor, we found it extremely hot. We contacted the front desk and learned air-conditioning on property was turned off for the season on October 1st. The staff was exceptional and put us in a room on the 1st floor which was much cooler. The hotel staff was exceptional and the hotel was clean, in a great location. The issue with the air conditioning seemed to be with Expedia's knowledge of the property, and not the hotel.

Pour un 4 étoiles on s’attend à un autre niveau de propreté notamment au niveau des toilettes. Sinon la chambre est agréable, bien décorée tout comme l’entrée de l’hôtel. Il est de plus très bien situé.

Déception générale pour un 4 étoiles !!! Toilettes sales ! Je passe les détails sur les murs ! Petit déjeuner très décevant !! Des viennoiseries industrielles non cuites et d’aspects inacceptables ! La seule partie tape à l’œil concernant l’image Maison du monde reste la partie accueil et salle du petit déjeuner. Manque de professionnalisme global !! Nous ne reviendrons pas !! 3ème séjour et première grosse déception… C’est dommage car j’ador(ais) cet établissement. Odeur nauséabonde d’égout dans la première chambre. Relogé dans une seconde classique alors même que j’avais payé pour l’option d’une chambre confort. Chambre au 4eme étage, pas d’ascenseur le matin, à côté de l’espace stockage des dames de ménages (extrêmement bruyant). Aucune proposition de geste commercial ou autre. Très déçu, ce sera mon dernier séjour dans cet établissement

We liked the hotel location, the family rooms were nice and they had a pretty good breakfast. They need to work on room cleanliness, they day we checked in we found the bathroom had not been well cleaned and the next day we detected they had not even gone in to the toilet room because the trash was still there and toilet paper had not been re stocked. It is a really nice hotel, beautiful location but there is rooms for improvement in room cleaning.

Je viens depuis plusieurs années dans cet Hôtel, il est bien placé, parking à proximité, les chambres sont très bien (confort, taille de la chambre ...)Par contre la propreté une vigilance est à prévoir (poussière, cheveux coller au radiateur)

Déçus par la chambre : odeur désagréable (canalisations), humidité, tâches sur les murs des toilettes et de la salle d'eau. La table utilisée pour la machine à café est pleine de tâches, une des deux lampes de chevets cassée. Vue désagréable directement sur les toits et les climatisations, pas mentionnée dans la description de la chambre. Petit déjeuner correct mais sans plus. Pourtant l'hôtel a un beau potentiel, une situation idéale à deux pas de l'entrée du port historique dans une rue animée avec de nombreux bars et restaurants.

Tres satisfait de ce sejour de deux nuits une rn chambre de luxe avec balcon sur les deux tours et lautre en chambre Cosy vue sur rue. La chalbre cosy etait plus grande et presque plus agreable mais la premiere beneficie bien sur d'une vue inegalable. Hotel moderne dans un immeuble ancien, du coup des chambres toutes différentes ! Super petit déjeuner, service tres agreable.

Un bel hôtel récent et bien placé que je souhaitais tester depuis un moment, réservé pour un déplacement professionnel. Les prix en basse-saison sont abordables, la décoration impeccable et le personnel très serviable. Réservation d'une chambre cosy 14m2 Florence, c'est parfait pour une personne, avec toilettes et salle d'eau séparés, bouilloire, machine à café, carafe d'eau. Cette chambre 208 donne sur la cour intérieure, ce n'est pas le meilleur paysage mais au moins cela évite les bruits de la rue. Le petit-déjeuner est juste incroyable, des confitures locales de tous genres, une compote maison, des rostis, et j'en passe ! Il était compliqué d'accéder au parking St jean d'acre avec les travaux mais en cette période, le stationnement dans la ville est facile et moins cher. Bref à tester.

Very stylish well located hotel. We enjoyed the calm and relaxed atmosphere. Our room was small but weak appointed. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect, right near the port and marina with its bars and restaurants.

I have one major complaint. I asked at the front desk if I should reserve a cab to get the the train station the next morning. The front desk agent said I should and offered to do it for me. But, what she booked was a private car service and not a cab. It was 25 euros for an 8 minute ride. I wanted a cab - not a chauffered limo. I think I should have been made aware of what was being booked. I never would have agreed to that cost

Before you read my review, please be aware that I have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the past 30 years ranging from very posh to extremely basic and I have never previously felt the need to provide a negative review, however Maisons du Monde Hôtel & Suites - La Rochelle Vieux Port deserves an absolute stinker. Put simply, if customer service matters to you at all, absolutely do not stay in this hotel. The staff from the hotel manager to the cleaners to the receptionists have an appalling attitude. My wife and I stayed in the hotel for 4 nights in August 2024 and it seemed that the hotel was being run with a skeleton staff during peak season. Room cleaning was very hit and miss and the response from the manager and his receptionists was to make excuses about it being a really busy day with lots of change-overs. If this was a cheap hotel, you might just shrug your shoulders and say something about getting what you pay for, but it's not a cheap hotel. Very disappointing experience which took the edge off our holiday. In summary, I will never stay in this hotel again and I strongly advise others to avoid Maisons du Monde Hôtel & Suites - La Rochelle Vieux Port.

Sehr freundliches Personal Sehr gute Hotel-Lage, Parkmöglichkeiten auf öffentlichem Parkplatz mit Vorzugspreis gleich daneben! Leider war die Klimaanlage defekt und es war sehr sehr heiss im Zimmer; freundlicherweise hat man uns sehr rasch 2 Ventilatoren zur Verfügung gestellt, was keine Klimaanlage ersetzt, aber doch angenehmer ist bei der grossen Hitze. Die Fenster konnte man aufgrund des sehr lauten Nachtlebens auch nur am frühen Morgen öffnen.

Perfect location in the old port of LaRochelle. We hired an Uber driver from the train station. The area is pedestrian only, for the most part. This hotel is literally surrounded by restaurants and gelato shops. There is a market right across the walk way, and the view of the towers is spectacular. All the sights are an easy, pleasant walk. We walked to the Ferris wheel. Our room was comfortable. The ceiling above the bed is beautiful. It looks like fabric. We were on the fourth floor. We used the stairs except for when we were bring our luggage up. Air conditioning worked well. The included breakfast was plentiful. Great variety of breads, meats, hard boiled eggs and cheeses with several fresh fruit options. We ordered fried eggs and they were cooked perfectly. The breakfast lady spoke English well and was friendly and cheerful. The front desk people were pleasant and helpful. It was a bit more challenging to understand them, but we did, and everything was fine. They ordered a taxi for us to Ile De Re. The walk to meet the taxi was about two blocks. We travel lightly. Only carry on wheelie bags and a backpack. Dealing with the pedestrian only aspect was not a problem for us. If we had big luggage it would have been challenging. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning next year. The hotel is beautifully decorated and smells amazing! Located near the port and many restaurants, the location couldn’t be better. Our family room for four was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were welcoming and helpful, I highly recommend this hotel. The only negative to point out is that the breakfast was rather underwhelming and ran out very quickly, despite having another hour to go. Next time we will pop out for breakfast as there is plenty of choice just steps away.

Très belle découverte que cet hôtel dont nous ne connaissions pas l’existence. L’emplacement est parfait, notamment lorsqu’on assiste aux Francofolies de La Rochelle. La décoration est soignée, même si un peu chargée à notre goût. Les chambres sont confortables, bien que les toilettes et la salle de bain mériteraient une petite rénovation. Petit-déjeuner très copieux et agréable. Mention spéciale au personnel, jeune et dynamique. Un très bon rapport qualité-prix, surtout en période estivale. Nous y reviendrons sans hésiter.

Bon séjour dans l’ensemble. Chambre proposée et spacieuse, bien décorée. Le seul point négatif était le petit déjeuner, commandé en chambre or il ne nous a pas été livré, nous sommes donc allé au petit déjeuner où le choix était limité, plus de viennoiseries choix restreint sur le reste.

Hotel location was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The hotel was extremely stylish and very clean. On the downside the room was a little small, the mattress was uncomfortable but more importantly the music from downstairs was very loud and on one night continued until after 3am.

The hotel was amazing and we enjoyed our two nights there. We will absolutely be back soon!! It’s in the perfect location and surrounded by restaurants and shops. The parking was easy at the aquarium and we walked with our luggage 15 min to the hotel. Beautiful view from our window. It was perfect!!

Great location. Parking was easy in the Vieux Port Ouest car park. Reception area and breakfast room very well decorated. Front office staff were very good before arrival with communication, and offered a welcome to us. Rooms were ready before the 3pm check in time. However, found the hotel staff generally indifferent especially the breakfast staff who weren’t welcoming and spent much of the time chatting in low tones to each other. Rooms were ok; mind the shower trays as they are VERY slippery! One of the rooms (216) only had a bath and no shower. We had advised we’d be travelling with our pet, and our room had been left with a dog bed and water bowls. The breakfast room welcomes dogs. Generally the hotel was ok, but I would look for another property if we came back to La Rochelle.
