Embassy Suites by Hilton Savannah Historic District

Overall a great experience. Clean atmosphere, nice rooms, and the hot breakfast was appreciated. The elevators were quite slow, and it would be nice to have the option of 1st floor stairwell access, but overall, the stay was great. Would stay again.

2 of the 3 elevators were out of service most of the time of our stay. There were not conveniently located stairways, so the elevator issue was very frustrating. Long lines and waits just to get to our room

The evening cocktail hour was pretty lame. Cheese and crackers only.breakfast was good

This hotel was fabulous. From check in to check out we had a great experience. The staff was friendly, hotel clean and breakfast was delicious. We also brought our dog on her first ever trip. The hotel is very pet friendly.

Our room was very comfortable and the extras like free breakfast and evening happy hour made the stay wonderful. The only glitch was that we had our dog, which the hotel accommodated very well, but there was no place on the property to walk her. We can certainly recommend this hotel.

Great breakfast and great staff. Only one surprise i wasn't aware i had to pay 40 dollars a night for parking.

The rooms was spacious and in very good conditions overall. The hotel’s general areas were very clean and appealing. The cleaning service was great. Breakfast service was a bit chaotic. Seating was not adequate for the need and as food ran out staff was slow to replenish it. Food was good otherwise. The pool itself was a bit more stained than I expected.

We do like this hotel and have stayed here more than once. The front desk staff are nice and helpful. It's clean and I like this location near SCAD. The breakfast food is good. I just wish they had oat milk out for coffee (there's only dairy, no alternatives) and wish there was an espresso machine for the breakfast. There is a small espresso machine in the room but the pods they provide are weak. Parking is very convenient but it's $40/ night. In Savannah you have to pay for parking no matter what but this is on the high end of parking options. Still, I would consider staying here again.

Swimming pool was not clean.

Carpets were very dirty. Otherwise staff was accommodating.

Roach motel - literally. I saw them in our room and reported to front desk multiple times. Each time I was promised engineering would come to the room to address. They never showed up and no effort was made by the hotel to address the issue. I have stayed here many times in the past since my child’s dorm is down the block. I have been disappointed in the past but this stay was the worst. I will be hard pressed to stay there again.

If you usually stay at pricier places then stay there instead. Its worth the extra 200. Sheets that were visibly dirty never got changed. Housekeeping left the dirty room glasses and empty water bottles on tables. We were there 3 nights so we stuck it out but definitely would have stayed somehwere cleaner had known. The carpet in the room was grimy when you walked on it and made your feet turn to dirty straight away. My son had to wear socks the entire time because it was causing the bottoms of his feet to itch uncontrollably when bare. The reviews I read prior to booking made it seem super clean but it just wasn't our personal standards. Plus side, no bugs!

The property is aged. The hotel is pet friendly and you can leave your pet inside the room, however, there isn't an area for them to go potty. The breakfast is so horrible, dirty, poor service and the person who does the breakfast by order is kind of rude and lazy, he closed the machine to place orders over an hour earlier than the limited time for breakfast. I requested a new room as I noticed black mold in the shower, then went to the next room and was given a single bed instead of double beds so I have to ask for a new room three times. We arrived during Thanksgiving and decided to eat there since restaurant was open and they also had the Thanksgiving dinner, horrible service, it felt like the waitress was not an actual waitress and was placed there to cover for someone because service was horrible and so was the food. I paid for parking and the pet fee but noticed there were people without the parking permit and pet note in the room, they were not checking on that and guests were taking advantange. I did not feel welcomed to the hotel and would have stayed in another place for the price I paid. The hotel nextdoor Thunderbird looks way better.

Plenty of room in a typical Embassy Suites room. Staff was very nice and professional. BUGS in the bathroom and in the living room.

We were greeted nicely upon arrival & checked in quickly. Upon entering our room, I noticed sizeable stains on the carpet & a dirty looking couch. There were several cracked floor tiles in the bathroom as well as loose tiles shifting under our feet near the tub. That night, we also discovered a non-working lamp. The next morning, I reported the issues & asked for a working lamp. Upon returning that night, we found the lamp had not been replaced. The next morning, I again reported the lamp & asked for another. When we returned that evening, the lamp had been removed but no replacement was left in its place. The next morning (Sunday) I again asked about a lamp as the rooms are dimly lit to begin with, to be told that it wouldn't happen until Monday when the electrical crew was back in (to replace a lamp?!), And did I mention our toilet was backed up? When we returned that evening, thankfully the toilet was working, albeit only for a day until it backed up again! But I guess at the expense of not having our room cleaned (we did not have the do not disturb sign out,) Monday morning I finally got ahold of a nice man, Mark, who wanted to know who told me the electrical crew had to replace the lamp (found that as ridiculous as I did). He moved us to an upgraded room, which was appreciated! Was promised a call from the manager, which never happened. Questionable location - Surrounding buildings covered in graffiti. Will seriously question staying in a Hilton property again!

The room had an odor that was most likely from the dated carpet and sleeper sofa. Additionally, there are two pending charges on my card. Enjoyed the breakfast!

Perfect for a family. Spacious rooms. Clean. Good location. It does look a bit drab in the rooms so if you are looking for the charming boutique hotel experience look elsewhere. Good value too.

Loved the staff and everyone being super friendly. Great location, able to walk to most of everything. Parking garage available for a fee but its convenient and easy to use with your pass. The interior of the rooms is dated and well used, the hallways do not have ac, our biggest problem was the water it was mildly warm but would get bursts of scolding hot water(watch the kiddos).

For the cost of this hotel, to not have smart TVs is unacceptable. Hair dryer was not in my room. They did not restock some toiletries. It was lovely and had a good breakfast and was in walkable area.

Liked the 2-bedroom suite. It was very roomy. The room needs to be aired out though. It smells like the carpet, sofa, and/or drapes may need to be cleaned to refresh the places in the room.

Rooms need updating

The lights in the room did not work, then, the water in the tub did not go down, then a tile in the bathroom was loose. It is in dire need of renovation, on the bright side, self parking is easy, breakfast good as well as the location.

Staff was pleasant, breakfast very limited.. Sofa bed mattress a disaster, springs poking in your body..lobby area and bathrooms very clean.. Bathroom in bedroom needs updated, kids toilet.. hard for elderly to sit or get up, much too low.

The premium room we had was very comfortable and roomy. The front desk as well as restaurant and bar service could not be nicer. Mariah was especially helpful, explaining everything and offering her help with whatever we needed. Looks like Embassy Suites is our stay in Savannah!

The room was gorgeous and the service outstanding--especially at check-in, when the associate offered me a choice of rooms and made sure that my family staying in a different room would be close by. Custom-made breakfasts were also a plus. Beautiful lobby as well, and very helpful concierge.

We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, a bit earlier than the standard check-in time of 4:00 PM. Upon arrival, I was informed that our room was ready. However, I was told that if we wanted to check in early, we would need to pay an extra $25. This felt like an unnecessary money grab, as every other hotel I have stayed at has always allowed early check-in if the room was available. I found this policy to be quite disappointing and not very customer-friendly.

Everyone was great from front desk to housekeeping. Made you feel very welcome in their house. excellent location, walkable to everything from attractions to restaurants to city market. A great place to be.

This was my second time staying at this location. We were here for our 17th wedding anniversary which occurred on June 16. Our room was OK despite a few minor issues--the bedroom lamp/clock being quirky in how you turn them on and the bedroom door not being able to be closed. The service, though, was absolutely ruined by an extremely rude dining attendant at breakfast on Sunday June 16, who we later found out to be named Lisa. She yelled at me and my son for simply not knowing how to order an omelet. It was a big public scene. It shook me up and ruined the whole trip. Couldnt really eat there anymore while I was there. We reported it. It took the manager 24 hours to respond. They should have had someone on duty that day to deal with it. We didn't get a chance to talk to Adrian until we checked out. The manager was accommodating, but we should have gotten both nights refunded. The breakfast component is the premier and main amenity for staying here. When that was ruined, the stay was ruined. None of this excuses the abuse behavior we experienced.

I have never been treated with such utter contempt at check in. To say that the staff member (who kept us all waiting for a half an hour while she bickered with other guests) was rude is an understatement. She was vicious. The check in experience was so horrible that I might have otherwise overlooked the dilapidated carpet and furnishings, the ancient mattress and linens, the elevator that made us fear for our lives, and the “deluxe suite” that was just an empty room with a ratty emerald green velvet couch. Worst of all, after the hidden absurd self-parking fee of $35/day (not disclosed on Expedia and the reason for forcing all guests to check in at the front desk instead of being able to go straight to the room like you can at other Hilton properties) this travesty of a hotel room cost me $335/night! There are SO many other hotels in town that won’t ruin your vacation. No establishment should ever treat their guests this way, but under no circumstances should this happen at a hotel that costs this much!

I visit Savannah up to 5 times a year to visit my SCAD daughter. The Embassy has become a 2nd home for us. We don't ever consider staying anywhere else. It has a great breakfast, afternoon snack, and drinks, but the staff keeps us coming back. Especially Marc at check-in. He is always accommodating, professional, and personable. If you have.a problem Marc solves it. I had a slight problem last time I was there in January 2025; he solved it immediately without hesitation. I see a raise and promotion in his immediate future. I'm just saying...

Hotel was nice for the price but surrounding area was less than ideal. Too much vagrancy trying to get to popular areas like the Savannah River front. It satisfied our budget (with 4 children in tow), but to walk through begets and people sleeping on the sidewalk is more than we had answers for, when the kids asked.

Perfect location right off the bridge to SC, walking distance to the market, trolly services, and the civic center

Hotel was nice. You had to walk a ways to get to the main attractions.

The location is horrible. It is by the bus station. The room was dirty. I had to go buy supplies to clean the room before I felt comfortable staying there.

The property is a bit far from the river walk.

Fire alarm going off prior to 7 am was annoying but not the biggest point of contention. I understand things like this will happen at times. Had breakfast once during our stay, but was not worth repeating; nothing horrible, just not very good(price was right). Biggest issue was the surrounding area, which I understand is out of your control. Everyday, we walked past a dilapidated building next door that is current being occupied by the homeless. Walking from the river walk back to the hotel was interesting at night. Front clerks and concierge were fantastic, very helpful and knowledgeable; bar maids/ tenders were not very polite nor were they very attentive. No valet due to manpower shortage. Negatives aside, common areas and room were clean and in pretty good shape. Although we never purchased anything this trips, prices in the convenient store area were very reasonable.

Overall good hotel. Misleading in saying it’s in historic district- technically it is but it’s almost a half mile walk to get to the true downtown historic area. Great breakfast, decent happy hour as well - makes up for the $35/night parking fee. Keep in mind if you check in on the app (like they prefer you to do) you don’t get your happy hour coupon so after waiting in line 20 min for a drink I was told I needed to go to front desk to get the voucher. Annoying but not a deal breaker. Our room was very small in comparison to the room my other family member got that was literally the same room (I’m talking half the size). Older hotel so wear/tear can be seen (one chair in at the kitchenette table had vinyl pealing off) and the couch was threadbare in spots) but the beds/pillows are very comfy. Some of the people at the front desk couldn’t be bothered to get off their phones to acknowledge guests in front of them but the service staff at breakfast and at the restaurant/bar were excellent!

The only thing I would say this property could improve greatly on was the breakfast in the morning was like a complete madhouse. There was no food out to take and go, we waited patiently for 20 min and no more food was brought out as there were many things empty on the line. I understand when there are so many people staying at the hotel. But that’s why everyone makes a reservation, it should give the hotel plenty of time to prepare for the rich of people.

They really sell the “made to order breakfast” but don’t tell you it will take an hour to get your ordered omelet. Tons of time to explore wasted waiting for pretty poor food. Not worth it even with it being free. Fridge hardly worked. Shampoo and conditioner empty on arrival. Lights on room door lock didn’t work. Long wait for very slow elevators one of which was broken for much of our stay. Much of the furniture very beat up and worn down.

Very nice facility. Clean and staff was very friendly. But location is blocks off the beaten path of where many of the bars and attractions are located. Free breakfast and cocktail hour was nice, but if you ate the food that came from the chafing dishes, eggs, bacon, potatoes, they were always cold. That in the lack of appetizers at the cocktail hour were a little disappointing.

We stayed here a couple years ago and were very pleased with the staff and amenities, especially the breakfast service, which is one reason we booked again.This year's experience was not like that.The breakfast area was understaffed making the "made to order" omelets a 20-30 minute wait. Frequently there was no clean silverware or glasses available, and the juice machine ran out of juice. It was pretty disappointing. I will say the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful.
