Very Retro, think 1960’s, complete with burnt orange and avocado green decor. Pleasantly surprised! Comfortable suite. Great outdoor spaces with retro pool, putt putt, grilling area, etc. Very walkable to restaurants and shops. Highly recommend!

the two assoc working the night we checked in were fantastic, so friendly so nice and gave us all the details we needed even showed me where the stairs where to get to my room, took the time to show me!! Daniel and Mark were the guys and I can not say enough about them and the pool was great the rooms great will stay there again in a heart beat!!!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!! BUT what I would love to see is a deposit on the paddles or golf clubs instead of charging to play the games you have which I think its great you have them but going on vacation is so expensive to add that to a family is tough a deposit to make sure you get the things back is good but to pay to play is a bit much, even charge a bit less would help. but i loved this place and the two guys were great!!!

What a cute place to stay! The 60s motif is fun. However there is also attention to small details that make this an enjoyable stay. Beds are great, pillows are plenty, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in shower in large containers on the shower wall and not in small bottles. There's even makeup remover. So that's the room detail, next is the charming atmosphere outside. They have a pool, miniature golf, pingpong and shuffle board. The one slight negative that we noticed was a large ant hill near the miniature golf that needs baiting. But that happens down here. They have a decorative gate around the hotel that brings fun and security together. Room doors are facing the pool and not the street making it a very safe place to stay. Those who smoke have a secure area inside the gate that's away from everything else. Again, security seems to be a big priority for them. Inside the lobby are very friendly staff who answered every question we had. There's fresh popcorn in the lobby and they had several snack and drink options available for purchase. They also sell cute items with their logo. Check in and check out was a breeze and my request for a first floor room was known when I arrived and provided. I noticed they have breakfast options though I didn't partake. I can say they have great tasting coffee in 16 oz cups with lids! I will be staying there every time I go to the area for genealogy research. It's a great small hotel with big amenities.

We were highly satisfied with our stay! We were in town for a softball tournament and if we are ever in the area in the future this will be our goto place for lodging! The design of the rooms took me back to my childhood! The pool/activity area is amazing and wish we would've had time to enjoy it!

Excellent staff! Friendly and gives great advice about what to do in town. Clean rooms. Breakfast was wonderful and quiet. A few things could probably be updated, couch in our room was a little old, but everything was still in good condition. I choose this place over and over again because I always know it will be a great stay. Lots of things to do within the hotel (mini golf, swimming, lounging outside).

What a gem! The lovely decor both in the lobby and room was so fun. The 70s vibe while old, all of the furnishings were new and very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable and sheets very soft. The pool was a lot of fun and having grills, putt putt, ping pong, shuffleboard and swings were nice options. So many great walkable dining options. Mother Earth Brewery (obviously) fantastic and Jay’s 108 was amazing and worth the drive alone. We only live 20 mins away and can’t wait to come back here!

We noticed this motel had better reviews than the main stream hotels in Kinston that we usually stay at. We are so happy we stayed here.. It was clean, the room was nicely done, the staff friendly, the breakfast standard continental, but we liked the Keurig so you are sure to have a fresh hot cup of coffee. The pool, rental bikes, put put and outdoor porch swings were nice.

The staff was wonderful!!! It is so nice to interact with kind people. I will say this…the pool was beautiful! The best motel pool I’ve ever experienced. Too, there was a mini golf area which the grandchildren loved. They had grills, a picnic area, shuffle board, ping pong and a relaxing porch swing area. I would definitely go back.

Mother Earth Motor Lodge was nicer than many of the lower end hotel chains I've used for business travel. The room was spotless, the furnishings were lovely, the bed was comfortable and I can't recommend this place highly enough.

What a hidden gem! We loved it and cannot wait for a reason to go back and stay again. First and foremost: the motel was very clean. The room, the lobby, the property in general were all nice and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful - such a great experience. This motor lodge itself has so much character! A real blast from the past. We love mid-century and this place was awesome. I only hope the new owners are able to keep it clean and well-kept with the same friendly service as we had this trip. I am sure that as more people get to know about the Mother Earth Motor Lodge it will get to be a very popular place indeed.

Mother Earth Motor Lodge has thought of everything to make the stay pleasant! Its retro vibe is very well done! Cleanliness is exceptional and the luxury bath towels are a wonderful touch. It’s also nice that the courtyard and rooms are gated for security.

This was my second week long stay at this motel. Both times have been phenomenal and I intend to continue using this motel for the remainder of my visits for school. Everything is super clean and the staff is fantastic. Only complaint I have is the wifi. Network speeds are fine, but the connection gets very spotty towards the back of the room, where the desk and bed are. This isn't ideal since I'm down here for school, but I was able to manage just fine. It's not necessary, but it would be nice to see range extenders, or additional routers added to have more consistent network connections throughout the rooms

Super fun place and the staff were really friendly! Finally a motel that doesn’t have depressing decor! My only complaints are that there should be soap by the sink in the kitchenette so you can wash your hands, and the pool fountains, while beautiful, were so loud that it wasn’t very relaxing to be outside in the pool area.

Very nice mid-century themed lodge. I was in a pet friendly room with easy access outdoors to the road. The interior rooms (not pet-friendly) offer a better experience. There is train noise at various times throughout the night.

The front desk was so friendly and super helpful. We selected a small economy room so it was perfect for us (no extra room besides the necessary things) but if I had kids, I would want a bigger room because it would have been very cramped. There are so many fun little activities to do on property and it’s all gated in so we felt very safe. We were first worried about the safety of the neighborhood but when we went down the street and sat outside at the pizzeria it was a great vibe and felt safe! We would for sure stay here again.

Stayed to catch a baseball game at Grainger. First time here. Excellent price. Cooler vintage property with mini golf, pool, outdoor ping pong, and a generally retro aesthetic. Standard room with king sized bed is a little small, but perfect for one night swinging through Kinston. Set AC to lowest temp (who doesn’t), but room ran a little warm all night. Nonetheless, excellent value, good location, easy to get around downtown Kinston. Would definitely stay again.

I stumbled on Mother Earth when through on my way down from Boston. Just an absolutely pleasantly staffed property! Everyone was so helpful and attentive. Seems this was a one thriving Tobacco and Textiles area with the train running through and there are many architecturally significant homes, many of which now in disrepair. It was a pleasure none the less to visit!

Excellent staff! Friendly and gives great advice about what to do in town. Clean rooms. Breakfast was wonderful and quiet. A few things could probably be updated, couch in our room was a little old, but everything was still in good condition. I choose this place over and over again because I always know it will be a great stay. Lots of things to do within the hotel (mini golf, swimming, lounging outside).

I called at 12, and wanted to check in early before 3, Front desk rep just said no, they don't do that at the property and became very silent. Around 145, I watched a few check in and finally at 255, I went in and checked in. SMH. The room had fruit flies and the hair dryer was disgusting. Had to wipe down the head boards. Amenities were very cool, great set up. The kids enjoyed putt putt and swimming.

Very Retro, think 1960’s, complete with burnt orange and avocado green decor. Pleasantly surprised! Comfortable suite. Great outdoor spaces with retro pool, putt putt, grilling area, etc. Very walkable to restaurants and shops. Highly recommend!

Mother Earth Motor Lodge is a throw-back, fun place to stay with fun things to do - pool, shuffleboard, putt-putt.... things you don't normally find at a motel. Pricing is pleasing as well. Only item that needs to be bumped up a bit is the stocking of the breakfast buffet. Attention needs to be given to keeping the various offering properly stocked. Both times we had breakfast there, it was very picked over, several items completely gone, and no one looking after it. Easy fix!

What a cute place to stay! The 60s motif is fun. However there is also attention to small details that make this an enjoyable stay. Beds are great, pillows are plenty, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in shower in large containers on the shower wall and not in small bottles. There's even makeup remover. So that's the room detail, next is the charming atmosphere outside. They have a pool, miniature golf, pingpong and shuffle board. The one slight negative that we noticed was a large ant hill near the miniature golf that needs baiting. But that happens down here. They have a decorative gate around the hotel that brings fun and security together. Room doors are facing the pool and not the street making it a very safe place to stay. Those who smoke have a secure area inside the gate that's away from everything else. Again, security seems to be a big priority for them. Inside the lobby are very friendly staff who answered every question we had. There's fresh popcorn in the lobby and they had several snack and drink options available for purchase. They also sell cute items with their logo. Check in and check out was a breeze and my request for a first floor room was known when I arrived and provided. I noticed they have breakfast options though I didn't partake. I can say they have great tasting coffee in 16 oz cups with lids! I will be staying there every time I go to the area for genealogy research. It's a great small hotel with big amenities.

Fabulous and fun retro motel! Great rooms, awesome pool, and cool features like a a mini-golf course. More motels and hotels should be this creative. The breakfast was a little disappointing, but otherwise a wonderful stay.

This was a retro flashback, complete with excellent customer service. Cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at (including high end hotels). Super comfortable, very safe for adults and children alike. Breakfast first morning was great. Second morning was a bit under-supplied. Highly recommend for adults traveling with busy children! Swimming pool and putt putt were big wins with all the children staying there when we were there.

We have stayed at this property several times and have enjoyed each time. We enjoy visiting the Mother Earth tap room and this visit we were able visit The Chef and The Farmer for a wonderful evening of food and conversation.
