Cerritos Surf Town - Beach Front Property

This is our third year staying here. The grounds are beautiful, excellent service and fantastic bar/restaurant! We also appreciate that they are dog friendly.

We loved the view and closeness to the beach, we watched the surfers and whales from the patio. The ocean and beach were clean and the water was clean and warm. We had fun playing in the waves the king bed and pillows were super comfy! The beach and gardens were well lit but thankfully did not shine in the windows. the sound of the ocean was amazing! The suite was clean and spacious. We felt safe. We loved the huge pool and the hot tubs but thought the pool needed at least a couple underwater lights. There was nothing making where the steps were to get into the pool, no railings, and the hot tubs were hard to get in and out of. The gardens and premesis were well-kept and pretty to walk through. We were not happy with the lack of kitchen equipment (no microwave, toaster, pots, basic seasonings/oil) and there was no counter space. We didn’t like the surrounding roads. We suggest having a plastic bin on the patios to wash the sand off your feet and guest books in the rooms. A book of things to see and do in the area would have also been a nice touch. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful.

The hotel was right on the ocean. Rooms were fantastic and pool was huge and just a beautiful area. We came at the end of the tropical storm so lots of rain one night and the hotel lost power for a few hours during the day. We just hung out in the pool all day and kept cool. My only warning is that the road you takeoff off of the highway to get to the hotel is very rough. If you have a low profile vehicle you just have to drive slow and careful. It was worth the rough ride once we got there. The restaurant on site is also excellent. We ate all of our meals there.

The ultimate place to stay at Playa Cerritos. Literally at the beach, 100ft from waves. Villa, although outdated and in need of renovation had spectacular ocean views. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant and bar directly at beach. Good but expensive meals. Big pool with beds, loungers and chairs. Both jacuzzis did not work. Walk to 2 beach bars and restaurants. 20 minutes from Todos Santos.

Incredible location on the water and a short walk to several restaurants, including Barracuda which is the best. Surfing access great as well. We will be back for sure The welcome at reception was pretty lackluster and weird, but the rest of the staff were kind and helpful. Pool is lovely. Only at at the hotel restaurant once and it was good. Of note— they don’t have water to drink in the rooms anymore but you can fill your water bottles at the bar and they also let us buy a big jug to use for $178pesos which lasted us all week and was well worth it. Our curtains needed some extra help closing for adequate privacy but we used a clip which helped. I would also suggest that they give you a mat for your feet so your aren’t trudging in sand (or at least a little broom?)

Nice hotel with a great pool and hot tubs right on the beach. Cerritos is pretty small and spread out so being right in the action is what you want. Relaxing, good food and drinks.

Room was very worn. Only had 1 chair in it. I asked for another chair and housekeepers came looked around then left. I guess one person was supposed to stand up whenever in the room. Drinks at pool were $9 with no alcohol in them? Chairs around the pool are broken, no chairs or umbrellas set up on the beach. Hot tub was cold and not filled. Beach as always was beautiful.

Our recent stay at Cerritos Surf Town was so peaceful. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially the restaurant workers. The food and cocktails were wonderful. The pool area was not busy at all, and one night we had the hot tub completely to ourselves. The beach is pristine, and our one-bedroom beach front hut was so adorable, clean, and had a hammock looking out at the ocean. We will definitely be staying there again!

Ocean front, very relaxing, no TV, just WiFi. Beautiful beach and hotel grounds. On site restaurant has variety of food choices, affordable and great staff. Pool is vey large and perfect temperature. I’m interested in a quiet, relaxing place to stay, not all inclusive, which I love.

The property is wonderful, clean, gorgeous pool, nice restaurant on the ocean and good food. We’ll definitely return.

I would love to give the place a better review. The location is perfect, the pool area is great (pool could be a tad warmer), and the staff was generally great. We could not overlook the overwhelming septic smell around our casita. I brought it to the attention of the gentleman at the office but nothing was done to remedy it (the tank was left uncovered because of some work being done). We travel to Mexico often and are used to the showers off gassing a bit but this was something else. It was difficult to sit on the patio.

The room is huge with a full kitchen if you want to cook meals. There is sand inside which is to be expected. The restaurant has some decent options for dinner with a higher then average price range. We found blood on one of the pillow cases. Loved the hammock. The pool was cool and the hot tub broken during our stay.

Great spot right on the beach. Uncluttered, great staff. Clean and quiet. Pool scene is slow and relaxing.

We were very excited to stay here, however upon checking in we were met with a very unclean bed. The sheets had clearly not been changed from the last guests as they were dirty, full of hair and sand. We requested new sheets and they came in to change them. The new sheets did not have sand or nearly as much hair but they were full of yucky looking yellow and orange stains. Not just a few stains. A lot of stains. The room amenities were adequate (fridge, sink and safe) but it was definitely cold at night, especially with the uncomfortable bedding. On the second and third days we woke up with red bite marks on our hands and feet. I had seen small bugs in the bed but I thought maybe they were sand or beach bugs so I tried to sweep some out of the bed sheets and ignore them. We didn’t get much sleep because the sheets just felt like they were crawling with something. We did some research after getting more bites and they were definitely bed bugs. Gross!!! Though the beachfront was a nice view, our stay was extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant and I would not recommend staying here! We’ll plan to return to Cerritos Beach area, but we’ll stay across the road at the other hotel, So Far So Good. Much cleaner and more comfortable, even without the beachfront property. Not the review I was hoping to give, but beware if you book a Studio Ocean Front room, chances are it will be dirty and have bugs. Maybe the larger, more expensive rooms are cleaner?

Rooms nice and clean. On the beach. Very quiet. Doesn’t get much better

One word - filthy! Dirty bedding - crumbs in bed. Hair on pillows. Bathrooms hadn’t been cleaned. Pool had garbage and slime in it. Location is fabulous but the property is in desperate need of repair and maintenance. Rooms are dark and musty and furniture is old. Screen doors were falling off tracks. Staff (other than new front desk lady) seemed indifferent and less than engaged. It shows in how the property is being taken care of.

I don't think I've ever left a bad review for anything before but I think there are some things that people should be warned about. First, the good: the location is beautiful and the restaurant was excellent. An argument could be made that that's enough to warrant a stay here. Next, the OK: the state of our room was pretty shabby. The loveseat was broken, a toilet was consistently running, the refrigerator and kitchenware was kind of gross. The roofs are literally just palm leaves so you can hear everything happening around you - I could clearly hear a couple's argument in the casita next door and their phone's alarm going off repeated the next morning. We aren't too picky so we would have been happy to look past all of this. However.... There were some truly bad things about this stay: First, the door to our casita (#32) didn't lock. Or rather, the lock engaged but didn't stay engaged when you tried to open it. I don't know if this is the case for all the doors or just ours. As a result, some drunk people broke into our casita at night while we were in bed thinking it was there's. It could have been much worse that confused drunk people breaking in. And second, the pool was dirty/cloudy. I hoped it was just from sandy people coming in from the beach. But the kids spent hours in the our pool both days of our stay and all 3 kids in our group came away with horrible ear infections. Our daughter is three days into antibiotics and no improvement yet. Same with the others.

Beautiful rooms and ocean view. Close to everything. Good food.

Best spot in Cerritos. Get the oceanfront bungalow. It’s worth the small price difference.

No WiFi in rooms one row back from beach, outlets didn’t work and water off one morning. ‘Mountain View rooms’ had no windows. Great location but property needs work and front desk staff needs customer service training.

100% you should stay here. This place was awesome. Amazing location. Incredible access to the beach. The rooms were simple, clean and comfortable. The location in unbeatable.

My wife and I returned to Cerritos Surf Town after visiting with our kids five years ago. Cerritos Beach has gotten busier over time, but the experience at CST is still very relaxing and comfortable. Staff are welcoming. We spent a lot of our time sitting on our ocean view hut's porch watching passing whales spout, surface, and breach, and the rest of the time walking the miles of little used beach to the south. Barracuda Cantina has moved just to the north of CST, so fresh fish tacos are literally a short walk up the beach. CST is not fancy, but it is a great value for the price.

Very quiet, sleeping surf side Casita! The waves crashing on the beach was a rhythmic sound machine all night long. It was magical! Room looked right onto the beach. Room was simple, clean and met all of our needs. The pool was a great place to hang out too!

This is my second time staying here and it is always amazing. The staff are extremely friendly and truly care about making your stay as enjoyable as possible. The location is perfect and both room types I've stayed in were perfect.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Beautiful beach. Feels secluded at night. Fun to watch surfers. Ten minute walk to the fabulous Barracuda Cantina. Renting a car is helpful to go to Todos Santos.

We loved the property the only complaint was we could not get our room cleaned Check in Friday by Sunday we asked for clean up they did also on Monday 2 days service out of 5 nights. Staff was very friendly would stay there again. Maybe they had staffing issues

En mi caso decidí llevar a mis hijas de fin de semana ya habíamos visitado este hotel durante la pandemia y habíamos tenido buen servicio razón por la que decidí volver con mis hijas pequeñas, hice la reserva a través de expedía ellos en ningun lugar publicitan que sus habitaciones no cuentan con aire acondicionado a pesar de que se sabe que en BCS no se puede tener una habitación de hotel sin aire acondicionado, no tenían abanicos , nos dieron un abanico que no funcionaba cuando nos prometieron dos para pasar la primera noche ya que habíamos reservado por dos y al siguiente día por un costo extra nos cambiarían a una habitación con aire acondicionado seguimos sus reglas y al siguiente día esperamos 5 horas en el auto debido al calor esperando la tan prometida habitación con aire por la cual ya había pagado extra y nunca estuvo lista, el gerente jamás dió la cara, se escondió detrás de un mueble , se negaban a darme reembolso, aún no se me reembolsa nada , mi hija sufrió deshidratación y ocupó hospitalización , el servicio de los meseros tarda horas , las personas de recepción muy groseras y no es nada barato para recibir malos tratos, este hotel no cuenta con RNT (REGISTRO NACIONAL DE TURISMO) ni mucho menos con cerrificacion de PUNTO LIMPIO, venden Day Pass y permiten que entren personas con bocinas a muy alto volumen rompiendo con la armonía de la música con la que ya cuenta el hotel. NO RECOMIENDO PARA NADA ESTE HOTEL , NO TIENEN LA CALIDAD NI CALIDEZ EN SU SERVICIO.

Beautiful pool and adjoining restaurant and bar. Food was excellent, staff very friendly and courteous.

Server never came back

Wasn't sure how the trip was going to go as I received an email the day of our arrival that the oceanfront suite that we booked had maintenance issues. I only book oceanfront wherever I travel so this was a big deal for me. I kindly asked for an acceptable solution & boy did they deliver. I had to stay the first night in a suite behind oceanfront then they moved me the next day to 2 oceanfront studios, 1 for us & 1 for my son. This was a substantially smaller unit but that was less important to me than being oceanfront. They also compensated me financially. This place sure knows good customer service when something doesn't go as planned. The service from everyone at this place was amazing. If I'm back in the area I won't stay anywhere else. The layout of the resort is amazing & location to everything perfect.

Great little spot with a nice pool, cool cabanas and great access to the beach. And just a quick drive up to Todos Santos.

The charm is staying in a little palapa style cabin on the beach. There is a good restaurant onsite and the prices are reasonable. My room was a bit rough around the edges; the toilet seat could not stay up, the door had a funky lock that I could only lock with a key from the inside. I was skeptical that the property was located off the beaten path, but it was right on the beach with a great pool and amazing staff. Easy access to Todos Santos or Cabo, and we did not have a rental car. Staff assisted with all our requests, my son made friends everywhere, the food was delicious and the waves were working every day. I definitely recommend staying here.

Our room had a partial ocean view and balcony. The onsite restaurant was excellent, Azure. Staff was friendly, the property and pool were beautiful. Direct access to beach. There was a tranquil vibe and you could see whales in the distance. I would definitely go back.

Great location. Rooms are a little sparse--could have used a chair, a rug for the door to trap sand and there were a few quirky things like using a standard pillowcase on a king pillow--leaving the bare pillow exposed--gross. Also, online pics show big water dispensers in all the rooms, but this is not so. Reception hands you two small bottles at check in, but that's it. They are happy to sell you water at the bar but since water is non-potable, you will be buying a lot. Contrary to someone's previous review saying there was a water station in reception, there is not. Nowhere to fill refillable bottles. Restaurant is fine. Breakfast was the best meal and items are pricey here and all over town. Get ready to buy $15 margaritas!
