Baymont by Wyndham Cave City

I judge a hotel by the floors. Big fail here! Room carpeting was spotted, soiled and gross-looking. I kept my shoes on. The beds were clean and comfortable and the towels were nice.It was a quiet place, so that was good. The AC was super noisy on high, so tried low, but it was even noiser. Hard to sleep. The pool was good, but the pool deck was in need of sweeping and none of the pool chairs were clean. There were branches cut up in a pile and left on deck. Too bad, not to have someone keeping the pool area looking nice.

Handicap seat by pool not properly fastened safety hazard. Management doesn’t seem to be concerned. Post holding rails to second floor rusted through. Concrete on stairs landing breaking away Breakfast coffee taste like the grounds have been reused for along time. Juice is extremely watered down Eggs are whites only

The staff was great pool was clean everyone at motel was friendly and the room stayed very nice and cold. Restaurants was close by

The manager is DELIGHTFUL and friendly! I didn’t realize the rooms weren’t in an interior hallway, they exit directly to the outside which is a HUGE safety concern. Also, no elevator or cart to get personal items upstairs and down long hallway to room. The actual room is clean and decently sized (2 queens). Large bathroom vanity is nice. Easy freeway access and a ton of food options nearby and super close to Mammoth Cave which is why I think everyone is here.

Clean and comfortable for an overnight stay I was surprised that there was no elevator to the second floor. If you have any mobility issues you need to be sure to request first floor.

Facilities are updated nice. Staff is friendly and helpful. However, walls are paper thin and hear everything. Only 1 ice machine which was opposite side of building from where we were staying. Breakfast was just ok. No gravy for biscuits and sausage looked kinda gross.

First of all, there was nothing in the description on Expedia and you could not tell from the first picture that this was a motel and not a hotel. It is surrounded by three other hotels and with the name it would be assumed that this would also be a hotel, but it was not. It was a motel and that was very disappointing. When we arrived. So shame on Expedia for not making that clear. Having said that for the price, you get what you pay for.on a good note it was clean, the bathroom was large and they had Dove toiletries in the bathroom, the towels were soft and the standard size for what you would expect at a place like this. We were away from the pool so it was relatively quiet and so for the money, it ended up being a decent value, it would have been much better for Expedia to set the expectations and let you know that this was a motel and not a hotel. We were initially slated to be right across from the pool and that would have been awful because it was a very small pool with a very large number of families and children and the pool was open until 10:00 p.m.. The one thing that was very disappointing about this place was The Breakfast. We got there about 30 minutes before the breakfast closed and the only thing left for me was cereal, a small pre-packaged pack of sugar donuts, and one egg white. Patty. They did not restock the breakfast, there was no one watching it, and it was not the type of breakfast that one might get at a Holiday Inn

Very conveniently located less than 20 minutes from Mammoth cave visitor center and Glasgow. This is a nice little area. The pool was small, but refreshing. The staff was helpful and polite. Some of the other guests were a little loud at the pool area in the evening even we were going to sleep.

The first room they gave me hadn’t been cleaned. Bed was stripped, beer bottles and garbage still in room. Bathtub was disgustingly dirty. They did give me a new clean room.

The room was dirty and had black mold in the shower. It smelled like a sewer, but was better if we closed sink drains and bathroom door. They were replacing AC units and painting the exterior maybe it will be better for future guests. I would not recommend it until they clean it up.

We got in and the room (106) appeared clean at first. Then we noticed someone else's clothes in the closet. Then a bug or 2. Then at 1 in the morning we were dive bombed by a huge cockroach, which we killed and took to the front desk and gave it to them. They said it must have come from outside. We saw it go back to the adjoining room before we were able to kill it and reported that. The front desk said they would tell the pest guy and yell at housekeeping about the dirty clothes someone left. Breakfast was minimal. The sausage links and biscuits were cold, though in a warming pan. At least the bed was comfortable and staff were not rude, although they apparently did not consider us telling them about all of this an actual complaint.

The beds were comfortable and clean in both rooms. Below A/C unit mold was growing. The walls had a bit too many soiled spots and needs painting. Water was overflowing in the pan beneath the little refrigerator in one room. Older hotel with a brand name but run privately that needs a bit of an upgrade. The price was nice

Clean room! The woman at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. Stayed at one down the street (red roof inn) and that place was terrible. I love this hotel?!

The room had a bad mildew smell though it was 99% clean. The fridge didn’t work either.

Carpet in room was dirty, and dirt in corner of bathroom. Refrigerator was sitting in a drip pan so door couldn’t open. Breakfast sausages were not cooked very well. Definitely wouldn’t stay there again.

Rooms had stains on the walls. Bathroom was dirty- received a new room- that bathroom was also dirty. Disappointing.

Did not expect a motel. It’s dated and toilets was leaking autofilling every 30 minutes. On the bright side, water pressure was awesome

Family came down for a trip to Mammoth Cave. Staff was very friendly. Pool area is a little outdated and the water is FREEZING cold. Room was pretty clean, but the A/C output in our room was the biggest store spot. Had the thermostat set too 65 but the air temp never got under 72. Normally, that isn't a problem, but with it being warm and muggy out, the room was unpleasant. Had too make a trip to the store and 40 bucks later came back with 2 fans since the hotel didn't have any. Overall, I'd stay there again with a fan lol

The people were nice and helpful when they came to the counter. Waited 10 mins around 10pm and noone came to counter despite the door making a loud ding as it opened. Only had one towel in our room and the door didnt seal and close properly. Had to put our suitcase against the door to seal it a little tighter. The outside area was decent but there was a number of homeless people around at night.

We stayed for one night before visiting Mammoth Cave. The room was fine. Linens were clean. There were cracks in the steps to the second floor and someone was smoking in the second floor corridor. Room was hot when we first got there because the AC was shut off but cooled quickly. The bathroom was clean but bathtub was slow to drain. Hot breakfast was kind of a joke. Cold fried egg whites and cold turkey sausage and the regular continental breakfast items. Overall not bad for price , would stay there again.

When I checked in, the guy at the front desk was great. I went to the room and it smelled horrible. He immediately gave me another room. I went to that room and there were bugs in it. He immediately gave me another room. That room smelled horrible. He immediately gave me a refund and I stayed somewhere else. The service was very good, but the hotel was gross.

This hotel features early check-in, via a text message link. When we arrived the room key was already for us. A great time saver. Great breakfast too!

Made the reservation on Expedia, then when I arrived to check in I was told that I couldn’t have the room because I lived within a 50 mile radius and they weren’t allowed to rent a room to locals. I didn’t know that you weren’t allowed to stay in a room wherever you chose regardless of where you lived. Craziness!!

Staff was great, she gave us lots of great tips for restaurants and for getting to mammoth national park.

This hotel is NOT pet friendly. The policy on hotels.com says dogs are welcome for $15/night. This is not true as they don’t allow dogs.

Great location if you are going to visit Mammoth Cave National Park. Give yourself at least 20 min to drive there if you have tix for a cave tour. In the Soring, summer is probably busier so allow more time. This motel is very clean and the beds were quite comfortable. The bathroom was clean, and in good condition with high ceilings. The vanity had plenty of countertop. I walked around the facility on the balcony and down below a few times for some exercise. The breakfast was minimal, but OK, and the eating area was ample. The front desk clerk was friendly and efficient. The only complaint we have is that when we entered our room, as so many of these motels do, it smelled. It’s probably due to the carpeting which didn’t appear to be very old. Overall, we would recommend staying here but be prepared for the order when you go in the room.

The fan in the bathroom in room 104 was so loud, we had to leave it off and just use the light from the room outside. The breakfast was good; however the warming trays were not working properly; you had to put your eggs and sausage in the microwave to get them hot so you could eat them. The only cold eggs I like are deviled eggs ant that is not what these were!

Carpet was extremely dirty and breakfast was disgusting. Food tasted old and all the cereal was stale.

Breakfast was more than adequate! Thought it was to be continental, but there was eggs and sausage and gravy and even biscuits! Pleasant staff!

Hotel is very conveniently located off of 65 Geounds seemed fairly well kept. Breakfast was a disappointment. When we arrived for Breakfast at 8:25 the dining area was crowded with people eating and those looking for food No staff was attending to refill consumed food offerings Orange juice was water with a tinge of orange. No eggs were left. There were 3 biscuits, a couple muffins, 2 yogurts, a few slices of bread and 4 pkgs of donuts. I elected to have coffee ( it was good ) and a pkg of mini donuts. Mattress is great! Loved the mattress. Room was tidy and the hairdryer worked well. The room obviously has had several repairs. A/C worked well. The landing on the stairs to the 2nd floor has crumbling concrete. Definitely a tripping hazard in need of repair

When I arrived-a young girl checked me in-and it wasn’t her job. Someone else had gone to get dinner and left her in charge. She spent most of the time admiring my gold credit card than actually checking me in-and then put me in a port room and I didnt have a pet. Luckily the regular girl came back and took over The room was clean except the tub did not drain properly and backed up while showering The breakfast was advertised as “hot continental “ -not even close They had cooked agh whites-not even the whole egg, cold biscuits and cold sausage. They had been placed in a warmer but there was nothing warm about it. We had to heat in the microwave. Also…no waffle maker. all hotels these days have a waffle maker. They had eggos but if you didn’t get there early, they were all gone. And once the food was all gone…it wasn’t replenished tip the next morning. And eggos…they weren’t frozen anymore so they slouched all down in the toaster. Not cool Very few other selections. If 2 hotels are the same price and they bother offered free breakfast…don’t pick this one. I never saw the front desk person come check breakfast area and we stayed 3 days!!!

Wyndham baymount hotel front desk lady was very pleasant. The room has a musty smell. The bed is a little hard. Side sleeper, shoulders hurt. Brkft was less desiring. Biscuits hard as a rock, probably the same biscuits put out all week. No gravy to attempt to soften them. Small sugar powered donuts. Waffles, egg whites, fatty sausage sticks. The only thing edible was a yogurt and a tart apple. It's not worth the extra $20 in the room rate for a brkft included. It's best to go down to the grocery store down the road for fresh food. It was decent for a one night stay.

The ‘hot breakfast’ was below average. Sausage wasn’t cooked throughly, cereal was stale, nozzles to juice hasn’t been cleaned, but the fruit (apples & oranges) & packaged donut/honey buns held me over until I got to the very well placed Cracker Barrel down the street.

The "hot" breakfast was mediocre and room temperature.
