Hotel has a fantastic location on a beautiful beach with lots of turtles in the sea. Rooms very large and clean, although somewhat dated and could do with a refurb. Good facilities with 2 pools which were never crowded and sun beds on the beach. The key thing which really lets the hotel down is incredibly slow and chaotic service in the bar and getting drinks by the pool. It could take up to 30 mins to get served and equally slow getting the bill. It didn’t help that a new billing system was being implemented whilst we were there which either didn’t work or staff weren’t adequately trained as half the time they were resorting to hand-writing bills. If they can sort out the service and refresh the rooms this could easily be a 5 star experience as the location and facilities are superb.

Our room and view were quite good. While not ‘updated’ is was in really good condition and clean. The property location was fairly good. You could easily was to the businesses along the Gap. However there was no ZR bus stop right near by and getting to one didn’t feel totally safe at night. The ocean in front of the property was a bit too choppy for me but I walked a little further down the beach to swim and it was quite good there. The hotel should invest in umbrellas for shade at the beach. Having to move your lounge chair to chase the shade was a bit of a pain.

The hotel was on the beach lovely big rooms Close to bars and restaurants The food was good nice touches of afternoon tea and cold water on tap Able to borrow snorkels body boards Curtesy room was great to shower and get ready for the flight back home The only thing it would have been nice to have sunbeds on the beach the sun gets very intense and a bit of shade would have nice Although the palm trees did help

The room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view. The facilities and service were excellent and the Hotel was conveniently situated between the beach and St.Lawrence Gap. We could have happily spent longer here.

Wr’ve stayed at various hotels and resorts over the last 15 years visiting Barbados, so we are very happy to rate this place as highly as we have. A really beautiful setting, food was delicious, room was spacious and clean. Well equipped kitchenette; fabulous view over a pretty courtyard. All in all, a really lovely spot for our little family.

This hotel becomes 5 star with the beach just outside your door. The room was clean with nice cotton crisp sheets. The staff was welcoming. The beach service was icing the cake just not consistent. Can’t wait to return next year.

A very small room with shower 36" x30". It felt like living in a cave. Outside wall damp and paint buckling... Probably unhealthful. We paid $343 for a room with no view, no balcony, no air circulation in the bathroom... Ugh. Horrible

Sunrises and sunset . The hotel has a lovely beach and the palm trees provide a beautiful view and plenty of shade. All the staff are lovely and do their best to please. The bed was very confortable and the everyting was very clean. Downside - extremely slow wifi and poor connectivity and the property owner to the west likes to use the leaf blower very early in the morning .

The people who work at Southern Palms are amazing! They take good care of you at the restaurant and the front desk staff and bellmen were excellent. The view is wonderful and it's so convenient to be right on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. However, the NOISE from across the street!! We booked through Expedia and were given a horrible little room at the back of the property that was a stone's throw from a little square across the street with a couple of restaurants, one of which had live music until almost midnight. It was deafening in our room. The walls are also paper thin and you can hear the guests in neighboring rooms. Perhaps the other side of the property is quieter...?? There were also little ants around our bathroom sink. I guess the key is to book directly with the hotel; they seem to reserve the not-so-nice rooms for those who book through a 3rd party.

Music from across the street was loud and came into the room nightly. Plus I booked 2 rooms with king size beds. But they gave us 1 with a king size bed and one with 2 queens not good. They said they weee booked and couldn’t do that

Great stay! Staff were beyond friendly/ helpful. My room was within steps from the beach. It was amazing. My only complaint was there was no warm shower water (only cold). It seemed to be that way in the entire resort. Otherwise amazing

It’s likely on one of the most stunning beaches anywhere. The staff and traditional style make this place. They treated us like gold and were very welcoming. Lots of food options around. Rooms are traditional. The water pressure and bathrooms could use an update, but over all everything is well maintained. I look forward to returning someday soon!

We had a fantastic stay, the Southern Palms really lived up to the ‘old school’ charms of its reputation. The staff were fantastic, particularly Makaila and all the ladies at the restaurant who were so kind and attentive. We had a fantastic stay, the Southern Palms really lived up to the ‘old school’ charms of its reputation. The staff were fantastic, particularly Makaila and all the ladies at the restaurant who were so kind and attentive. An amazing place for a tropical vacation. Ocean side dining is incredible. Staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and always smiling. Our room view was absolutely spectacular. The front desk was helpful to make reservations and schedule rides. Every night there was live entertainment. The beach was beautiful and bonus was watching sea turtles. Can’t wait to go back.

The people who work at Southern Palms are amazing! They take good care of you at the restaurant and the front desk staff and bellmen were excellent. The view is wonderful and it's so convenient to be right on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. However, the NOISE from across the street!! We booked through Expedia and were given a horrible little room at the back of the property that was a stone's throw from a little square across the street with a couple of restaurants, one of which had live music until almost midnight. It was deafening in our room. The walls are also paper thin and you can hear the guests in neighboring rooms. Perhaps the other side of the property is quieter...?? There were also little ants around our bathroom sink. I guess the key is to book directly with the hotel; they seem to reserve the not-so-nice rooms for those who book through a 3rd party.

Our room and view were quite good. While not ‘updated’ is was in really good condition and clean. The property location was fairly good. You could easily was to the businesses along the Gap. However there was no ZR bus stop right near by and getting to one didn’t feel totally safe at night. The ocean in front of the property was a bit too choppy for me but I walked a little further down the beach to swim and it was quite good there. The hotel should invest in umbrellas for shade at the beach. Having to move your lounge chair to chase the shade was a bit of a pain.

Wr’ve stayed at various hotels and resorts over the last 15 years visiting Barbados, so we are very happy to rate this place as highly as we have. A really beautiful setting, food was delicious, room was spacious and clean. Well equipped kitchenette; fabulous view over a pretty courtyard. All in all, a really lovely spot for our little family.

Hotel has a fantastic location on a beautiful beach with lots of turtles in the sea. Rooms very large and clean, although somewhat dated and could do with a refurb. Good facilities with 2 pools which were never crowded and sun beds on the beach. The key thing which really lets the hotel down is incredibly slow and chaotic service in the bar and getting drinks by the pool. It could take up to 30 mins to get served and equally slow getting the bill. It didn’t help that a new billing system was being implemented whilst we were there which either didn’t work or staff weren’t adequately trained as half the time they were resorting to hand-writing bills. If they can sort out the service and refresh the rooms this could easily be a 5 star experience as the location and facilities are superb.

The hotel was on the beach lovely big rooms Close to bars and restaurants The food was good nice touches of afternoon tea and cold water on tap Able to borrow snorkels body boards Curtesy room was great to shower and get ready for the flight back home The only thing it would have been nice to have sunbeds on the beach the sun gets very intense and a bit of shade would have nice Although the palm trees did help

Beautiful beach and room view. Good size room and bar sink was helpful. Friendly staff and appreciated the daily afternoon tea. A bit disappointed about lack of hair conditioner in toiletries. Main purpose of trip was snorkeling. Snorkeling is quite deep in the sea. Not easily accessible unless you are a strong swimmer. Had to go to Carlile bay to do this
