They were filming a movie at the hotel. When we arrived the pool was closed to the hotel guests. We were only staying for one night with friends that had just flew in from California. We had kids and a big reason we chose this hotel was for the kids to have a dip in the pool after a long day of travel. Very disappointed we were never made aware of this prior to our arrival, specially since we were only there for one night and had to leave early in the morning. The parking was totally full because of film trucks and we had to stay in a far off underground, and still pay $30 per car… we had two. Was not overly impressed with the guest service.

Nice hotel. Good restaurant and bar. Great staff. Very clean and classy. The hotel has had a split with the golf courses and the pool/gym complex. So to use the gym or pool you must pay. That is $45 per person/per day. We paid $450+ for a very small room. Beds were great and we had a nice view but it was cramped. Small rooms, pool and gym not included in price.....not impressed!!! For a 4 star Westin Hotel it was very underwhelming

Elevators were sketchy and would move before the door closes. The spa wasn’t open for my stay had to go into town to the ymca, wish they had a pool or sauna on site. We went into town more then stay around the resort which I didn’t think was worth the cost.

My stay at The Westin Bear Mountain was excellent. The breakfast there was good, although it was very sunny and hot. One bad thing is that there is no on-site swimming pool. Please consider adding one for the convenience of others.

The mountain community setting was absolutely beautiful. We had a large balcony overlooking both the hills and golf course - stunning. Resort surrounding landscaping is beautiful. Service was outstanding. Rooms were well supplied and very clean. There was also a fun and good restaurant across from the resort. Only complaint was cost of on-site parking at $35 per night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return and recommend it to family and friends. Dan and Deb

I was very disappointed that there was not a pool or a sun deck at the resort. Expedia didn’t highlight that fact. If we wanted to use the pool next door it was a $45 fee per person. Never In all my hotel stays have I experienced anything like that. I took photos of a deck that had empty flower pots and dog dropping on it, very uninviting. We finally found the hot tub in the morning, it had empty beer cans and wet towels all around it and the water was dirty. The best part of the hotel was the outstanding staff. Everyone was so nice. The Spa was great, I had the best pedicure.

The staff is awesome, but be aware you don't get Marriot bonvoy points if you book thru Expedia. The rooms are neat and clean though are definitely showing some wear and tear, grout tiling cracking, baseboards scuffed, art work soiled. You will have to travel into town to use the YMCA to go swimming, even tho the is a pool on site. I heard it's available for $50 a day. But wasn't offered

This was a great hotel to stay in, and its proximity to where we needed to be was convenient. The staff were friendly and anticipated all of our needs. A huge shout out to the valet attendant who noticed that our family was dressed in formal clothes as the rain started coming in and offered us a ride on the golf cart to our vehicle. My only criticism is the lack of self-parking available. Trying to get a spot at times without needing to rely on valet service was challenging. Overall, I'd consider staying there again.

Front desk service was very helpful at check-in and very quick. Room was spacious and clean with beautiful view to enjoy sunrise. Unfortunately there is not any room service. I got food to go and take back to my room. The minestrone soup was disappointing (bland). The other appetizer was just OK. The tiramisu was delicious.

My wife and I stayed one night at Bear Mountain Resort and had an amazing experience. The room was spotless and had an incredible view overlooking the golf course. We watched the Blue Jays game at the restaurant and really enjoyed the atmosphere, great food, and drinks. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the whole property had a relaxing, upscale vibe. We’ll definitely be back for a longer stay next time!

This is a beautiful property overlooking the golf course and the mountains. Off the beaten path but not too far away from Victoria, it was a perfect spot for our family of four to land. We had a suite with a pull out couch and a king bed which with a kitchen and dining area and a huge balcony. We were extremely pleased with the spacious room. Plan on returning.

The resort was grand and spacious. Room and patio was also very spacious. October there is only heat and no air conditioning. Our room, with all windows open was way too hot. They apologized but there was no solution. Not enough car charging. TV was slow with very few free options. Most staff was very kind and helpful. Views on "Course Side" were spectacular!

Room was great but the Sat evening was marred with crying child in connecting room. That extended into the next morning. Not much you can do when parents seem to do nothing about their children. That knocked quiet out of the weekend from my perspective.

The location and hotel are great. It's a beautiful spot in the mountains with great views and the area is quiet. The bed are terrible though. First off, that's the smallest queen I have ever seen. If it's a double, just say it's a double. But even then the beds are not great. The sheets were heavy and felt like a tarp (and sounded like them too). Then the pillows. Well you get 8 of them but they are basically the illusion of a pillow. You our your head down and it collapses down to nothing. You need like 3 just to make one pillow. But beyond that, it's a nice place. Just fix the beds

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Room was spacious and I loved having a full kitchen to cook in. It’s fully equipped which made it very easy to cook meals. The massage chair was an added bonus and felt like you were actually getting a message. Staff are all very well trained and a pleasure to interact with. I will definitely be back!

The highlight of this stay was the wonderful way that the staff addressed a concern. We were in an adjoining room and the family next door was very loud. They let their baby cry all night long and it was extremely disruptive. When we expressed a concern to the staff, they moved us immediately to a new room. They were very accommodating and we appreciated it. The property is on a beautiful mountainside, well appointed and very comfortable.

Shower in my room was not working. They did not give me a new room and told me to shower in the gym. They told me that they cannot accommodate me or deduct my stay because I used Expedia. Not even help me deduct my parking.

One of the my best hotel stays in recent years. Staff really cared about the guests. Especially the doorman, he heard from other staff that we were going to see the salmon runs and gave us recommendations on places to visit where we could get a better look. I apologize for not getting his name but he was great.

The front desk woman (I checked in around 510pm on March 21st, 2025) was rude and quite unhelpful. I came in to check in and needed a minute to look for my ID. She appeared annoyed. I asked about the pool and she said it was closed for maintenance. There is no indication on your website stating your pool is closed.

The greeter was such a delight! He made our stay so memorable! The hotel was lovely. It has every romantic getaway must-haves checked. Its in the quieter side of Victoria, so you have to travel 40 minutes farther away from downtown, but it was worth it nevertheless. The hotel suites were spacious and very comfortable. It even has a wide balcony that lets you view a wide range of nature. The room service staff were very friendly and attentive.

I thought the cost of parking was a bit overpriced considering there were no other obvious options. I found out the next day there was free public parking, but it wasn't obvious that this was also for overnight. It isn't easy to get to Bear Mountain other than drive your own car.

The property is beautiful and wonderfully situated. It’s set in a beautiful setting with gorgeous views. It’s well maintained and my room was spacious and impeccable. The lobby is beautiful, as is the restaurant. The staff were wonderful and helpful and ready to help. I had a wonderful stay. This is my go to place whenever I am in Victoria

Bear Mountain is a great resort to stay at. Staff are friendly. The rooms are nice. Just wish there was shopping in the area. Had to drive 30 minutes to downtown where everything is at. Shopping, bar and great food areas.
