The friendly staff, cleanliness and wildlife around the resort made the trip! Most of the pools were a bit deep for our youngest to enjoy, but the kids had a great time in the wave pool. The activities were always delayed, sometimes up to 30 minutes. The lazy river left a lot to be desired. The food was always good. We were very disappointed booking with Expedia, as the price quoted with taxes and fees was $800 less than what we were charged. Also the $400 credit was in the form of coupons. For example, pay $100 USD and get $25 off. Everything at the resort was 2-3 times more expensive than what it was a home, like sun screen, vanilla, clothing or even Tajin.

I've been to 3 resorts in Cancun, and this has the best water slide so far and a good amount of pools. This is an excellent resort for large groups of families. Beaches are wonderful for sand lovers. However, this is lacking in the nightly shows that other resorts offer. Overall, this is more suitable for a large family with children. I also had a great snorkeling experience as part of the excursion. The food was excellent but required reservations ahead of time. The steak house was great, and there was a night with great seafood on the buffet. Great variety of choices. I still recommend this resort if you haven't been there before.\xa0

This is our 5th time visiting the Iberostar property. First, the good. The property was exceptionally clean, the staff was great as usual. The entertainment was pretty good. Now the bad. The food...We ate at the Mexican speciality restaurant and out of 6 of us, nobody finished their meal. The food was not that good. Now the buffet was sub par as well. Some food was cold when it was supposed to be hot, some of the food looked like it had been recycled for days. Rude guests cutting in line and people that can't control their kids. We had a group of 10 and we were all disappointed by the buffet. Just didn't taste fresh and seemed recycled day after day. Now the pool area. In 7 days we found 4 plastic cups in the water, not to mention lime wedges and other debris. Why only 2 bartenders at te pool bar??? on most days it was chaos trying to get a drink. Secondly, people eating food along the pool edge, you could literally see bits of food floating in the water, we seen a lady drop her plate of food and literally brush it under the pool lounger. Next, please put more staff in the food shops. there were lines out the door and the quality was lacking. And for the coffee and sandwich shop, why such short staff in the mornings, obviously the most busy time, as people age going for morning coffee as well as the people grabbing a bite before their excursions. Again, literally lines out the door at 8 o'clock in the morning. Our room stewars was absolutely fabulous.

The fountains & main pool are under major repair. They closed the pool one day as water was filled with sand from repairs.We should have been told about sand bags in the pool to block water.Also the staff doesn’t smile so it made me feel like I was at work also. Luckily we knew how nice the pool is at Del Mar / Beach & spent our time there.

The gym was ok , the air conditioning works but there is no dehumidifier in it , so it’s like a sauna , the gifts shops and spa are 3 times more then any other places, the entertainment and restaurants repeat its self after 1 week , no5 enough English tv channels,

Very family friendly. I travelled with a large family with children ranging from 2y-13 yrs and they all managed to have great fun! Lots to do for toddler and preschoolers including a large splashpad, lazy river, indoor playground and outdoor playground. Lots of space to lounge with a large group, and lots of food options. I would've skipped the stress of booking restaurants and just head to the buffet every night because they change their theme every night so there's lots of variety. We had a Spanish night, seafood night, all very yummy. The only negative comment I will leave is beware of the rooms closest to the beach. The first room they gave us was in building '50' which was closest to the beach. While it was an upgrade (larger room, with a private jacuzzi in the balcony' it had a strong musty mouldy smell. They had a humidifier on and blasting all day but the smell was still really strong, and we saw trace of mould on the bathroom walls. After our second night, one of our friends who we were travelling with visited us in our room and commented on the strong smell of mould and that their room did not smell like that. We called concierge and arranged to change our rooms right away. Our second room was in building '55' and it was much newer with absolutely no trace of mould. It was a night and day difference. Highly recommend booking in building closer to the lobby instead of the beach.

We had a great time here as a family. I rated it 4 stars because I actually wanted people to read the rating! The staff are welcoming and very professional. You can pretty much do anything you want on the property...within reason of course. You can eat at as many restaurants as you want in a night or day, as long as you don't need a reservation for the dining option. You can request shots of don Julio at dinner, and receive as many as you want... There are 15 pools to choose from, you can either go in the busy "party pool" or you can go to a less busy more laid back pool. You can also explore the pools at the other resorts...except for the grand ;). If you are going to shop get a ride into play del Carmen and shop there as the shopping center prices are expensive. My husband and his friend golfed at the golf course and were impressed, rental clubs were high quality and the course was " really cool!" We travel to the Yucatan pensiula regularly and have stayed in several towns...we like to explore the towns ... this time we were far from both play del Carmen and Cancun,but the property was so large that there was plenty to do for the most part. The kids had fun in the pool and the Japanese restaurant was really fun! The food was good, and there were plenty of options. Bring your own water bottle and fill it at the filling stations... I think it's a great idea!! Watch out for the quatees, they may take the burgers out of your hands ;, but they are cute!

Went with my 8yo son in late April/Early May of 2023. We had SUCH a great stay here. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. Everyone is always saying hello. Our room was very clean and they kept it that way. We personally really liked the food that they had. We tried a couple of the restaurants, which were very good, and we were equally impressed with the buffet. The buffet changed it's dinner options from night to night, so it wasn't always the same thing every time. We both thought the food was delicious! It is also such a beautiful resort, there are always people around working on cleaning the sidewalks and walkways as well as maintaining the gardens and grass and landscape. It's truly beautiful, they work hard to keep it that way and it shows. The one downside is the resort is so big, it can be quite a walk to get from your room to the main area where the buffet restaurant is, or from your room to the beach. But they have people driving around regularly back and forth in golf carts and trams that are there to provide rides. (*Pro tip - spare a dollar or two for the drivers and they will stop for you every time they see you walking, even if they're not currently working transportation.) There are a lot of pools and a wave pool (which was my son's favorite!) but they don't always run the wave pool very often. We also LOVED the lazy river! Overall we TRULY enjoyed our stay there and I'm already making plans to go back again next year!
Went with my 8yo son in late April/Early May of 2023. We had SUCH a great stay here. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. Everyone is always saying hello. Our room was very clean and they kept it that way. We personally really liked the food that they had. We tried a couple of the restaurants, which were very good, and we were equally impressed with the buffet. The buffet changed it's dinner options from night to night, so it wasn't always the same thing every time. We both thought the food was delicious! It is also such a beautiful resort, there are always people around working on cleaning the sidewalks and walkways as well as maintaining the gardens and grass and landscape. It's truly beautiful, they work hard to keep it that way and it shows. The one downside is the resort is so big, it can be quite a walk to get from your room to the main area where the buffet restaurant is, or from your room to the beach. But they have people driving around regularly back and forth in golf carts and trams that are there to provide rides. (*Pro tip - spare a dollar or two for the drivers and they will stop for you every time they see you walking, even if they're not currently working transportation.) There are a lot of pools and a wave pool (which was my son's favorite!) but they don't always run the wave pool very often. We also LOVED the lazy river! Overall we TRULY enjoyed our stay there and I'm already making plans to go back again next year!

The food was the worst part of the trip. The resort was nice and clean. The resort had many hotels and was very spread out causing our group to either walk long distances or wait long times for shuttles. Staff had no clue where thing were located causing me to be lost half the time. Shuttle drivers would ignore you and drive past. I Honestly could not recommend this resort.

Staff were very nice, hotel rooms and grounds very clean, beach area was nice. Lots of wild life and plants. The stay was great. I would go back again. Food was excellent. Entertainment was the best of any resort I have been to. The staff helped you get to and from excursions safely. All around excellent experience.

Very family friendly. I travelled with a large family with children ranging from 2y-13 yrs and they all managed to have great fun! Lots to do for toddler and preschoolers including a large splashpad, lazy river, indoor playground and outdoor playground. Lots of space to lounge with a large group, and lots of food options. I would've skipped the stress of booking restaurants and just head to the buffet every night because they change their theme every night so there's lots of variety. We had a Spanish night, seafood night, all very yummy. The only negative comment I will leave is beware of the rooms closest to the beach. The first room they gave us was in building '50' which was closest to the beach. While it was an upgrade (larger room, with a private jacuzzi in the balcony' it had a strong musty mouldy smell. They had a humidifier on and blasting all day but the smell was still really strong, and we saw trace of mould on the bathroom walls. After our second night, one of our friends who we were travelling with visited us in our room and commented on the strong smell of mould and that their room did not smell like that. We called concierge and arranged to change our rooms right away. Our second room was in building '55' and it was much newer with absolutely no trace of mould. It was a night and day difference. Highly recommend booking in building closer to the lobby instead of the beach.

Beach area inundated with wild animals crawling in trash cans and jumping on people to get their food. Terribly unsanitary. Animal excrement in the corridors. Maid service was nothing more than fresh towels, bed made and an empty trash cans. Mo cleaning at all. Dirty bathroom mirror. Hair and soap left in the shower area. Food was so so. Was not offered any type of upgrade nor any resort credits. Staff was friendly. Won’t be back.

Excellent resort! Close to airport. Property was clean and gorgeous. Rooms were spacious but beds were too small for 2 adults. Food and staff were excellent. Concierge right in your room block was so convenient and super helpful. Shows and activities plentiful and entertaining. Went with 1 adult and 10 and 13 year old and would definitely go again.

We have stayed in a lot of all inclusive resorts. This one has been our least favorite. We booked a double room for 4 and upon arrival were given a king bed and a twin rollaway. After complaining they finally moved us to a small room with 2 double beds. Not Queen, double. Beds are very small. We were directed to concierge upon arrival to make dinner reservations but were only able to get reservations for 2 of our 5 nights. We were at buffets the rest of the time. Staff is not very friendly and are definitely not problem solvers. If you want a chair by the pool or on the beach you have to get your towel the night before and go out at 6:30am to put your towel on the chair to save your seat. There are signs that say don’t do it but they don’t Inforce it and if you want a seat you have to. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt since it was spring break but they said they are always that full. Food wasn’t that great at the buffets. Didn’t really get to experience anything other than the Mexican and Greek restaurants and they were just OK. Our room had plumbing issues so beware. This is supposed to be luxury but don’t expect top shelf alcohol. The rooms are very far from the lobby and we got no offer to help with luggage, we were given a map and left on our own to find the room. There are also no elevators so if you aren’t on the ground floor be ready to carry your bags up the stairs. The coffee shop was good. The grounds and pools were nice.

We have come several times to this resort and it still is a fun resort. The entertainment isn't as good as it used to be but the buffet/food choices are very good and diversified. The rooms are relatively quiet and beds comfortable. Still a trick to find a spot at beach or pool; everyone gets up early to reserve spots and come back later, just have to play the game. Unfortunately they are now charging $ to rent spots by pool. Too windy to do any water sports/jet skis this week but usually able to get beach spot if you don't wait too long in the am. Could have better service for drinks at beach; fewer servers coming to you.

WARNING: STAY AWAY from "Iberostar The Club", it is a Scam! You will end up paying $1500~$2000 a year to get the same prices as Expedia maybe $10 less. It is a shame that the owners of the Iberostar hotels brand give their name to be used in this royal Scam. The hotel is really great, for a family of 6, with kids 17,15,13 and 11, they have a great time, activities for all ages, food super good and a lot of options, service excellent. Concierge Zam super helpful. Many coffee shops and desert shops and all included. The internet should be improved on the rooms and other places.

The grounds were beautiful— very green and lush! The resort was also very clean! Our room needs some electrical upgrades- more power outlets especially near the beds to charge phones. We did lose power over 15 times in the 5 nights and had to keep flipping the circuit breaker. Therefore our room wasn’t always cooled down and if we left our phones to charge, we’d come back and they’d be less charge then when we left. We did notify the staff 3 times so hopefully this will be fixed before another family stays in the room.

This is a nice place for a large group and families. The rooms are a bit outdated but the housekeeping staff were really good. The servers were great but they were understaffed when we were there. They offered a variety of things for kids and families of all ages

Definitely not what I expected. The food is very poor. Good luck getting any reservations to the restaurants unless you listen to their 1.5 hour timeshare/membership presentation. Unable to swim at all. High waves and full of seaweed. No elevators on the property so ask for 1st floor or else you will need to go up and down multiple times per day. Did not honor my expedia credits or VIP perks. Overall would not recommend or stay here ever again. The staff even told us that they are understaffed therefore we waited 2 hours daily to get food.

As soon as we arrived at the property, I felt hassled for money to upgrade our room, attend some type of club membership for a "free massage", and it was ongoing throughout our week. Every time we saw someone from the front desk or lobby, we ran by quickly, so we wouldn't be harassed. All of the shops on site had outrageous prices. The pool staff, bartenders, waiters, were wonderful. The food, pool, room and grounds, & beach was great.

Hotel at 1/4 capacity yet you can't get a dinner reservation unless it's a super early time like 5:30 pm. And then there are only like 4 tables seated in the restaurant. Kept pushing the time share tour/meeting/lunch. Didn't get a tour of the grounds. The 4 properties make the place a bit confusing and very spread out. Drinks were great and so is Santos at the Pool bar. Not a property I would stay at again.

Dining. The buffet is the same thing every day. There are specialty restaurants, and guests are permitted to make a reservation in one for each day. You cannot make a reservation until you check in. Right after checking in, we went to make the reservations. We were there for a week, but there were no available reservations except for on 3 days. For 2 of those days we were only able to make a reservation at 9pm, no earlier. When we went to the restaurants, most of the tables were empty. Transportation. The hotel is very big, it takes a while to walk from one end to the other, and even further to get to the mall, where there are some additional things to do. There are golf carts that drive around picking up guests to take them around the resort. However, the golf carts are very inconsistent and we had several instances where the golf cart driver refused to take us from out room by the beach up to the lobby, making up some excuse, like "oh I can't Im picking up suitcases" and then we watch as he drives straight to the lobby, without picking up any suitcases along the way. They took away the ping pong table and pool table they used to have.

We had a great stay at the Lindo! There is always something to do! Great nightly shows! We really enjoyed having the extras at the mall! We ate at the burger restaurant many times and enjoyed the disco! Water slides were an added bonus even for the adults!! Beach was beautiful! No seaweed in early November! Our one downfall was our group had trouble getting reservations to restaurants. They were full from the day we came in. We were able to visit the Japanese (great!) and Mexican (terrible!). We wish we could have tried more of the restaurants.

Overall, we really loved staying here. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the wildlife was so cool to see. The pools are gorgeous and fun and location was great too. The food was above average for an all inclusive and we really enjoyed getting to try all the restaurants. On to the negatives. We arrived at 11 and were told the room wasn’t ready yet(totally understandable, as check in is at 3). We were told the room would be ready by 3, and we came back at exactly 3. The front desk attendant must have stared at his computer for about 15 minutes without telling us what the issue was. We were told to come back in 10 minutes which we did. Once again the front desk worker just started at their computer screen without saying a word. Finally she said that we needed to come back again. I informed her that this was the 3rd time we had tried to check in. She then said she had a room available with a jacuzzi tub. We got to the room, and not only did it not have a jacuzzi tub, it was not a poolside room, as I had booked. When we called the front desk, they acted like we should have known the room wasn’t what we had paid for. We finally got the room we had booked, but this was wasn’t the best way to start our stay. The next thing was the lack of availability at the restaurants. They claim to close at 10pm. We got to one of them at 9pm and were told they had no availability because they were closed. When we complained, magically they had a table for us.

Overall it was a good property but not sure it was worth the price, especially compared to Barcelo Maya which had better rooms and was right next to beach. What we liked: clean property, lots of pools so could choose a quieter poolside spot, kids loved the waterslides, food was above average. What we didn’t like: rooms were small and outdated, lazy river is red herring as it’s just a narrow pool, beach is few minutes walk from pool.

We just got back from our 5 night, 6 day trip. The resort was OK, a little dated in my opinion. They had construction going on at the pools and front lobby so it was a bit messy. We got in on a Sunday afternoon (2ish), check in is at 3 so we had to wait a little after 3 for our room, no big deal. We walked around and even got a quick bite to eat. We tried talking to the concierge about booking dinners for the next few nights and they did not have anything available until Thursday night, a day before we leave back home. I was very disappointed because they have quite a few restaurants and all are booked for 5 days out which leaves people to only eat at the buffet. Don't get my wrong, the buffet is nice but you also want to dress up and do a nice dinner too. One thing they try to talk you into every single day is the "90 minute" meeting about the resort which turns into a 2.5 hours talk!!! And they try to force you into buying a timeshare. They leave these notes at your door do come downstairs and talk to a concierge, don't do it!!! They will also promise you $180usd which ends up being ibero cash and it does not truly equal $180usd. I have stayed at many other resorts and probably would not return this one. The only nice thing about this resort is that it's kid friendly and they have a Star Camp for kids 4-12 yrs but not much of night life for adults. Also, the rooms are sooo far away from beach/lobby. LOTS of walking :)
We just got back from our 5 night, 6 day trip. The resort was OK, a little dated in my opinion. They had construction going on at the pools and front lobby so it was a bit messy. We got in on a Sunday afternoon (2ish), check in is at 3 so we had to wait a little after 3 for our room, no big deal. We walked around and even got a quick bite to eat. We tried talking to the concierge about booking dinners for the next few nights and they did not have anything available until Thursday night, a day before we leave back home. My family has been coming to this area for more than 20 years & we decided to try a new hotel this year. The staff is very friendly & the hotel is organized with some things, such as the lost & found. The amenities are nice, but the schedule is not well communicated. They change their kids club schedule often and the resort is so big, which makes it extremely hard to drop into certain activities. If you have an outgoing kid who you plan to leave in kids club all day, it's probably fantastic. There is an app for the schedule of hotel events, but it only works on Apple, not Samsung (crashes every time you open it). The beach is beautiful & well maintained. They have machines that clean the sand so there are little seaweed/shells, making for gorgeous, soft sand. I was most impressed when my son got sick. They have a medical center with a doctor 24 hours a day (though it is an extra cost). When my son got sick, the concierge called to make sure we knew that they can accommodate any special diet he needed or any medicine they didn’t have at the resort. I felt they went way above & beyond with this. If you plan on doing a lot of excursions, I highly recommend staying closer to Playa del Carmen. You’ll be on the bus twice as long due to all the hotel stops you’ll have to make. Overall, we had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the food, staff, and beach. However, the resort was too big and it took too much effort to figure out the entertainment so we'll go back to Playa del Carmen.

We had a great time here as a family. I rated it 4 stars because I actually wanted people to read the rating! The staff are welcoming and very professional. You can pretty much do anything you want on the property...within reason of course. You can eat at as many restaurants as you want in a night or day, as long as you don't need a reservation for the dining option. You can request shots of don Julio at dinner, and receive as many as you want... There are 15 pools to choose from, you can either go in the busy "party pool" or you can go to a less busy more laid back pool. You can also explore the pools at the other resorts...except for the grand ;). If you are going to shop get a ride into play del Carmen and shop there as the shopping center prices are expensive. My husband and his friend golfed at the golf course and were impressed, rental clubs were high quality and the course was " really cool!" We travel to the Yucatan pensiula regularly and have stayed in several towns...we like to explore the towns ... this time we were far from both play del Carmen and Cancun,but the property was so large that there was plenty to do for the most part. The kids had fun in the pool and the Japanese restaurant was really fun! The food was good, and there were plenty of options. Bring your own water bottle and fill it at the filling stations... I think it's a great idea!! Watch out for the quatees, they may take the burgers out of your hands ;, but they are cute!

The mangroves made the beach out of sight but is just a very short walk from where we stayed. The shroud of hearing the waves before seeing it adds a bit of excitement .

This is our 5th time visiting the Iberostar property. First, the good. The property was exceptionally clean, the staff was great as usual. The entertainment was pretty good. Now the bad. The food...We ate at the Mexican speciality restaurant and out of 6 of us, nobody finished their meal. The food was not that good. Now the buffet was sub par as well. Some food was cold when it was supposed to be hot, some of the food looked like it had been recycled for days. Rude guests cutting in line and people that can't control their kids. We had a group of 10 and we were all disappointed by the buffet. Just didn't taste fresh and seemed recycled day after day. Now the pool area. In 7 days we found 4 plastic cups in the water, not to mention lime wedges and other debris. Why only 2 bartenders at te pool bar??? on most days it was chaos trying to get a drink. Secondly, people eating food along the pool edge, you could literally see bits of food floating in the water, we seen a lady drop her plate of food and literally brush it under the pool lounger. Next, please put more staff in the food shops. there were lines out the door and the quality was lacking. And for the coffee and sandwich shop, why such short staff in the mornings, obviously the most busy time, as people age going for morning coffee as well as the people grabbing a bite before their excursions. Again, literally lines out the door at 8 o'clock in the morning. Our room stewars was absolutely fabulous.

My only “complaints” would be: You needed to pay for the evening entertainment unless you wanted to go to the kids program, also, the entertainment could be just a little earlier in my opinion. The much larger issue was the temperature of the different food options. Hot Foods were, at best, Luke Warm and sometimes cool. The service at the Steakhouse and the French restaurant were horrible. Getting seated and waiting 30-40 minutes for a drink is unacceptable. I have a couple of food allergies, the host/hostess is good about asking, but the service staff also asks (every time) so why does the host ask too, and in the end the French restaurant still brought a shrimp cocktail to a person that has a shrimp allergy, made me wonder what ingredients were in the main dish and should I eat it.

The staff was always very friendly and helpful, the grounds were clean, the pools were perfect, a strong effort to clean up the sea weed, but our room smelled like a damp barn when we checked in and we were just too tired to go back to the desk to ask for another room. The smell had improved by the next day. The restaurant’s were excellent but the buffet was not, 2 star at best, a lot of luke warm food, selection wasn’t great compared to other resorts and cruise ships we have been on.

The smell had improved by the next day. The restaurant’s were excellent but the buffet was not, 2 star at best, a lot of luke warm food, selection wasn’t great compared to other resorts and cruise ships we have been on.

Staff were very nice, hotel rooms and grounds very clean, beach area was nice. Lots of wild life and plants. The stay was great. I would go back again. Food was excellent. Entertainment was the best of any resort I have been to. The staff helped you get to and from excursions safely. All around excellent experience.

This is not a 5 star property, by any means. The rooms and buildings they're housed in, need a major update. Food selection and quality at the buffet restaurants was average at best. Food quality at the 2 reserved restaurants we went to, Italian and Steak, below average. Not worth the $ I paid. I would not recommend this resort.

Buffet had flies flying around the food, tables not cleaned well between guests. Over all the quality of this hotel went down from the last time we visited it. The only thing remained the same was the beach.

Brilliant resort amenities and entertainment for families. Some staff could have been more helpful at times and the grounds were overrun with wild coaties. More could have been done to actively manage their presence in the main guest areas.

Loved the resort it is amazing.The pool , lazy river and the water slides were entertaining. The animals living was beautiful.The room was nice,The all inclusive was luxurious.You wont need to leave the property.

Fantastic resort that we’ve visited multiple times. Great, spacious pools and delicious, high-quality food in their buffet. You certainly don't lack anything at this resort. Their evening shows have also had an upgrade and are super impressive. We stayed at Lindo for 6 nights, but unfortunately couldn't get a table booked at their Japanese restaurant—there's definitely room for improvement there.

Overall very clean and nice all inclusive resort. We had a very good stay. We went to the Steak House with excellent staff including Enrique and Carlos-took very good care of us. We could not get in the Japanese restaurant though. The staff were stellar… Unfortunately the beaches are not good but that goes for majority of Playa Del Carmen..
