Super comfy bed so a great night’s sleep! Very Austin-y…almost feels like a converted dorm? Some of the bedrooms don’t have their own bathrooms, our room did but definitely felt like a college kid again. Super loud pool party for a few hours downstairs, which was not a problem. Parking was $34/night on site and gated, so it was a good value for downtown Austin.

Love this hotel! I booked because of the pool. I had one evening in Austin after working ACL and just wanted to sit by a pool and get some sun. Got a ground floor room just outside the pool door. The water was cold and it felt great in the sunshine. The bed was super comfortable, and feel asleep feeling like a kid that’s been playing in the pool all day… that warm but cold comfy feeling. The hotel has very south Florida Caribbean vibes, it’s not like a regular hotel. The decor was lovely and I felt comfortable. Plus they give a $20 credit per room which totally covered my breakfast at the restaurant attached. Great food and friendly service! They even let me hang by the pool for a bit after check out since I didn’t need to leave for the airport until 2P. Going to make this a new tradition to get some rest and sunshine before moving along, was so happy with East Austin Hotel!! Oh, I guess the neighborhood is known to be kind of rough… but I didn’t experience any of that. I walked two blocks to a Korean barbecue place for dinner and everything was very charming and clean.

The hotel invited the loudest DJ to blast music all weekend from the center courtyard so I could not use my hotel room all afternoon or evening until after 9pm both days. There was no quiet or peace to be found here

i live about 30 miles north but stay in this hotel when i visit for a show. this place is stupid crazy close to (dirty) 6th st. i like this hotel because it is constantly perfect, affordable, and just a splash of retro. safe parking underneath. great pool and i enjoy waking up to have coffee on the patio. on a side note, i inadvertently booked a "cabin" room one time. it was super cheap, but i missed the small print. smaller room, but you utilize an english style community bathroom. keep that in mind if you are on a budget. likely wouldn't do it again, but it was an experience. oh.....make sure you eat brunch at the restaurant thats attached. great food, service, price and selection. i will be back.

The hotel didn't have many quests. The parking lot and restaurant were nearly empty. But, they sold a large number of day passes for the pool. The pool was so full, there wasn't room to move or to stand anywhere that wasn't 2 feet from 5 other people. There were no lounge chairs available the whole day. We were lucky to find chairs in the pool bar. The staff was working very hard. Someone, please, provide some kind of AC or a fan for the pool bartender. But, the specialty cocktails at the pool bar took a long time to make, so there was a long line most of the time. The bartender said we could go inside to order a drink, but the inside bartender said they were closed. The pool ran out of towels and didn't get more towels for an hour. The manager and staff are working hard. I hope they find a way to rent more rooms and sell fewer pool passes.

Fast check in and clean room/hotel. Blends in with East 6th street area, so really have to be observant or you’ll miss the location. Only complaint is having to pay $35 for onsite secure parking.

Great staff all around. Friendly and knowledgeable. Great food and drinks. Needs to be more clear about not having bathrooms in the room and they being shared (At least on my floor) The bathrooms, as expected, were always wet and messy. The rooms were ok. There was a strong chemical smell but didn't feel dirty. My card was charged multiple times and overcharged, however, they quickly rectified the situation with no pushback or hassle which is appreciated. All in all a good experience.

The room was dirty, didn’t come with hand soap, no one answers the phones at the front desk, it’s super noisy when their day party is going on during weekends and you can’t move rooms. I also received a $20 voucher credit to use at 2nd kitchen only to be told once I went there that I actually couldn’t use it. Spent $40 on a kale Cesar salad with chicken and a coffee and it was inedible with raw chicken. I will never stay here again

Overall the location is the best part of this hotel, it’s pretty central if you wanna visit other areas in Austin. The downtown bars are walking distance and there’s lots of places to eat around the hotel. But the major downside was the hotels cleanliness, room was mildly clean. I would not recommend starting in their cabins with the shared restrooms! They only serviced them like once a day so with multiple people showering and using the restrooms it was kinda gross. Also the hotel bar would play music as early as 9am so don’t expect to sleep in.

Was given a room without bathroom and toilet. This is not obvious from the Expedia description. Anyway, I immediately asked for an upgrade to a room with bathroom on arrival and was told I could pay the difference with my credit card from what I already paid through Expedia. A few days later I found that the charged me for the full amount of another room. When I phoned they told me they had no visibility into the charges. Apart from that, whilst the retro boutique look seems nice, our hotel room stunk horribly like mould or something, really taking your breath away as soon as you open the door. Room is all carpet and covered in stains.

Overall it was a nice stay. Clean and well taken care of. Housekeeping was credibly helpful and friendly. Check-in with one reception was not the greatest. They didn’t seem happy to be there and they weren’t too friendly. Rest have been good and helpful.

The location was convenient, however, street parking is a challenge and garage parking is expensive ($31/24hrs). I inadvertently booked a "cabin" which does not have a private restroom-once I got over the shock I adapted and the private bathroom was next door, so the treck was not far. The experience reminded me of European hotels years ago. Regardless, the single toilet/shower rooms were very spacious & clean. Just make sure to remember your room key. The best part of the "cabin" was the price-very affordable given the location and it being Austin.

Worth staying in for the location, but the room itself was damp and had a smell. The bathroom in the room is also not very private - the wall doesn't reach the ceiling. Our sink also was clogged.

The hotel and staff were great. The only issues I had were with the air conditioning not going below 71° for some reason keeping the room a little too warm for complete comfort. The Wi-Fi was also pretty bad. I wasn’t even able to send an email on the Wi-Fi nor did I get cell great service in the room so I kept having to leave to use my phone/laptop which was pretty inconvenient

Very nice but room was tiny and not impossible but difficult to work since there is no space to open a suitcase. Too small for comfort when you need to open a travel bag. Otherwise nice, comfy beds. However I think it was overpriced for what it is. Cute but not worth the cost.

I wish I stayed longer! I didn't read that there were shared bathrooms (but you have it to yourself, it's not a communal one like a gym shower), but still worth it. Love the retro feel. BED WAS SUPER COMFY OMG. I WANT YOUR MATTRESS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

There were homeless people sleeping on the benches outside the hotel and grifters (professional beggars) on the street corners. We saw one shirtless man who was blocking traffic & yelling (mentally ill or high). The guys at the reception desk were helpful and assured us that the facility was secure and told us that we could park in the gated underground parking garage. The room was nice & clean, but needed a little maintenance. (Broken baseboard tile y the shower, pockets/sliding doors that were difficult to operate & a VERY slow draining vanity sink). One of the electrical outlets next to the bed had a device “prong” broken off inside it, rendering it useless. The electrical outlet by the TV was so loose that it wouldn’t hold a phone charging block in the socket (I had to butt a suitcase up against them) When we entered the room the AC was set @ 68 degrees and the fan set to HIGH. This combination led to the room being ultra humid. (Even the carpet felt moist) I set the thermostat to the DRY setting, which helped dehumidify the room after a couple of hours. My hearing is bad, requiring hearing aids. There were homeless people sleeping on the benches outside the hotel and grifters (professional beggars) on the street corners. We saw one shirtless man who was blocking traffic & yelling (mentally ill or high). The guys at the reception desk were helpful and assured us that the facility was secure and told us that we could park in the gated underground parking garage. The room was nice & clean, but needed a little maintenance. (Broken baseboard tile y the shower, pockets/sliding doors that were difficult to operate & a VERY slow draining vanity sink). One of the electrical outlets next to the bed had a device “prong” broken off inside it, rendering it useless. The electrical outlet by the TV was so loose that it wouldn’t hold a phone charging block in the socket (I had to butt a suitcase up against them) When we entered the room the AC was set @ 68 degrees and the fan set to HIGH. This combination led to the room being ultra humid. (Even the carpet felt moist) I set the thermostat to the DRY setting, which helped dehumidify the room after a couple of hours. My hearing is bad, requiring hearing aids. I didn't recommend renting one of those e-bikes (they're expensive). . . which has nothing to do with the hotel.

Excellent service by the hotel & restaurant/ bar staff. For example, The 2nd night our air conditioning wasn’t working. Max at the front desk was wonderful. After trying to fix the problem in our room, she offered an immediate change of room, or when convenient for us. The ac in the new room worked perfectly. It was a very enjoyable stay! I highly recommend.

Once we found this gem, we will never stay anywhere else in Austin. Becca always makes us feel at home, along with the rest of the crew. It’s a hopping side of 6th but not CRAZY like the other end. Your choice of three on site bars and restaurant… what else could you need? The pool parties on Saturdays are a must hit. Not only do you get to mingle with people staying at the hotel, but the locals are there too! The perfect place to let loose and have a great time. East Austin Hotel is our forever home when we visit.

Hotel had a water pipe break and was told I would not be guaranteed a normal check in time. Tried ti cancel with expedia. They called to confirm the conversation with the hotel. Hotel front desk associate lied to expedia said my room would be ready at 2:00. When I arrived at 2:15 I was told my room was not ready and wouldn’t be ready. I was given a lower class room even though I paid for the higher priced room. Hotel associate would not lower the rate. Terrible service and all the restaurants were. Great locations, cute hotel with a good pool area. Front desk staff were phenomenal and the bar staff in the adjacent bar top notch. Only loses marks because we continued to not receive refills on coffee and water each day when our room was serviced.

I just checked out and I’d be back for sure. Everybody at front desk was great, especially Tyler and Jackie. Unbeatable location, in a very cool hip area full of bars and restaurants. Sleep quality was amazing too. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to use the swimming pool as I was on a business trip but there is a bar with food and drinks that can make your stay very pleasant specially during summertime.

After a long day of travel, we arrived for check-in at our pre-communicated time of 10PM. When we arrived, no-one was at the front desk. There was a number to call and I called it. It was a corporate call center and she just called the front desk (where I was standing). There was no way to get ahold of the person in charge of check-in (and there were about 10 rooms which had not checked in yet). The person showed up about 15 minutes later, completely unapologetic, unhelpful, nasty and uncaring. This is completely unacceptable (does he not have a cell phone?) for all the obvious reasons. This was unfortunate as the hotel was fun and the room was roomy. Only the room TV was not working well (not a big deal for us). Please improve or better train your staff or it would be difficult to stay here again.

Overall it was a nice stay. Clean and well taken care of. Housekeeping was credibly helpful and friendly. Check-in with one reception was not the greatest. They didn’t seem happy to be there and they weren’t too friendly. Rest have been good and helpful.

i live about 30 miles north but stay in this hotel when i visit for a show. this place is stupid crazy close to (dirty) 6th st. i like this hotel because it is constantly perfect, affordable, and just a splash of retro. safe parking underneath. great pool and i enjoy waking up to have coffee on the patio. on a side note, i inadvertently booked a "cabin" room one time. it was super cheap, but i missed the small print. smaller room, but you utilize an english style community bathroom. keep that in mind if you are on a budget. likely wouldn't do it again, but it was an experience. oh.....make sure you eat brunch at the restaurant thats attached. great food, service, price and selection. i will be back.

I checked into this hotel on a Saturday night and noise level was unbelievable and unbearable. My room was located above the sidewalk and a club was clearly close enough to where I could hear the music and conversations. I made an attempt to move to another hotel-however I would have loss my money. The front desk should have warned me about the situation and noice level. The last song was played at 4:40 am. Bruno Mars -“That’s what I like “ . I will never stay at this place again. Warning ⚠️ to all future guests!

Really pretty cool hotel in the middle of everything. Literally surrounded by bars, restaurants, etc. That being said, bring ear plugs. It was pretty noisy until midnight. When we stayed recently a wedding party had booked most of the hotel, and both the rooftop and pool bar were only open to wedding guests which I think was a bit much. Would have been nice to know this as the pool and rooftop bar were big selling points of the property. The room itself was super nice and clean and the bed was so comfortable. We stayed in the area with shared bathrooms. One toilet wouldn't flush properly. But the bathrooms were nice and they did a good job of keeping them clean. One guest had showered before us and left a bunch of hair in the drain, I think that's a reflection on the guest not the hotel - have respect and clean up after yourself in shared bathrooms! Loved the decor and the lobby was so cute.

Love this hotel! I booked because of the pool. I had one evening in Austin after working ACL and just wanted to sit by a pool and get some sun. Got a ground floor room just outside the pool door. The water was cold and it felt great in the sunshine. The bed was super comfortable, and feel asleep feeling like a kid that’s been playing in the pool all day… that warm but cold comfy feeling. The hotel has very south Florida Caribbean vibes, it’s not like a regular hotel. The decor was lovely and I felt comfortable. Plus they give a $20 credit per room which totally covered my breakfast at the restaurant attached. Great food and friendly service! They even let me hang by the pool for a bit after check out since I didn’t need to leave for the airport until 2P. Going to make this a new tradition to get some rest and sunshine before moving along, was so happy with East Austin Hotel!! Oh, I guess the neighborhood is known to be kind of rough… but I didn’t experience any of that. I walked two blocks to a Korean barbecue place for dinner and everything was very charming and clean.

East Austin Hotel is in a great location in walking distance to great restaurants, bars and comedy clubs in downtown Austin. The hotel itself has a very retro/boho vibe and the rooms are very clean and modern. The onsite restaurant has a great menu as well. I really enjoyed my stay and would come back again.

My wife and I had a great time staying here. It was a super cool little place to visit. The employees were all super nice and helpful. The restaurant was amazing. But we stayed in room 304 and it smelled overwhelmingly like mold. So it was definitely a little concerning, health wise. The other issue seems odd, but the fact that they charge guests parking in their own parking structure seems kinda disrespectful. But other than that I was happy with our experience
