From the welcome glass of port and pastel del nata when we checked in, the staff went out of their way to be friendly. Cleanest room we've ever stayed in and fantastic location. Central but quiet at night. Little boutique hotel with adjoining cafe. Don't come here if you're looking for a gym or swiming pool, this hotel is all about great service, a friendly and helpful reception team. Our rom was prety, fresh, and spotlessly clean, and this hotel was in the best location within a stones throw of the elevators for the Castle, tram stops to other districts and places of interest,, shopping, fantastic restaurants, cafes and gelateries. Authentic little portuguese restaurants just off the main street and down the back streets nearby. If we return to Lisbon we will definitely stay here again. .

Barbara was great at check in and check out. Room was cleaned. Great location close to everything you need Rossio station and Baixa chiado are 5 minutes away. Very convenience for when we arrive and leave city. Our room was at the back of the building so it’s quiet at night. Not sure for the room in front of building as hotel located on the main walking street. Only down point is there is only one small lift in the building and a bit confuse to use. It’s ok for us as our room on 2nd floor but people stay on top floor must be annoy with the lift

We picked the Poet as it’s one of the few hotels in downtown Lisbon with an elevator. What we didn’t realize was it sits on a 20 block long street that’s been turned into a pedestrian only street. It’s paved with the standard Lisbon granite cubes that have been glazed in black and white. The street has a continuous row of street restaurants the whole length of the street with high and low end shops on both sides. It ends at the Arco de Rua Augusta on the river. The hotel itself is very modest in appearance from the outside with only a brass door marking its location. Inside the lobby is modest in size but nicely appointed, including the elevator. Our room was on the top floor with a dormer and very small balcony, you could step out on, overlooking the street festivities. The street is busy with people till 2 am but the window/door is pretty much soundproof. Everything in the room was modern and clean. The shower was a little tight for my 6’3” body although it’s 5’ wide it only about 2’ deep but it was all tile and everything worked. The hotel sits right next to a restaurant and has an interior door to access it for their breakfast buffet. There is also a bakery on the other side of the hotel. The next time we are in Lisbon we will be staying at the Poet again.

Very nice people, clean property, excellent location! The beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is great! Everybody at the front desk is wonderful! Cleaning staff is doing a great job, as well! My only suggestion would be to fix/mark/place a sign etc… on the step in front of the elevator on the left side as you come from the upstairs. It is a tight space there, so very easy to hit it! Saw two people almost fall, and it is quite dangerous, so it needs to be addressed. Other than that, a wonderful stay! Thank you!

I had a great experience at this hotel! The location couldn’t be better—right outside the door are plenty of restaurants and bars, making it super convenient for dining and nightlife. Pink St, Green St, Tram 12& 28, and Ler Devagar in walking distance. The hotel also helped coordinate airport transfers, which was a big plus. While there’s no traditional lobby to wait in, the staff was mostly friendly and welcoming. My room was small but clean and quiet, which made for a comfortable stay. If you’re looking for a well-situated, peaceful spot with everything you need nearby, this is a great choice

The hotel staff were terrific. They made our stay very enjoyable. Very helpful directing us to non- tourist trap dinner options. Rome was clean and pleasant. The hotel is in a small footprint in a busy area but the rooms felt spacious and the hotel felt very quaint. If there was one issue it was the elevator was small and tight for two people with smallish sized suitcases. But that’s a very minor issue and easily worked around. Definitely recommend this hotel if you plan to stay and walk the city. The hotel is close to the metro which is very clean and safe.

The location is excellent, and the front desk staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The shower was fantastic, but the bathroom door had to be opened just wide enough to slide into the bathroom before turning around to close the door--it would have been more convenient if the door opened outwards. We were there for 7 nights, and the lack of storage for unpacking (in both the main area and the bathroom) meant that we were constantly having to access our packed luggage. Also, a larger table would have been nice for using our computer and eating takeout. The temperature was also quite difficult to moderate, as the room was stuffy and we were forced to keep opening/closing the window to air out the room (it was 40-50 degrees F outside). Also, there was a very unpleasant sewer smell in the bathroom (we think it came from the sink), but it took us most of our stay to figure out where the smell was coming from. When we checked out, the front desk attendant didn't seem very interested in looking into it for future guests.

This hotel is located right in the heart of Lisbon amongst so much of what you’d want to see, or with easy access to transport options for those places a little further away. For me, the bathroom smelt like a sewer so I think there must be problems with the drains. Reported to reception but no resolution before I left.

What a great little gem of a hotel in a fantastic location close to all the sites of Lisbon. Room was spotlessly clean, amenities were fantastic. A greay little bonus of a coffee machine in the room for a little espresso in the morning. Staff were very helpful and friendly, special mention for Tomos and Rui on reception.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Room is clean but very small. Location is central but outside noise could be a problem for light sleepers. Window curtain cannot be closed and street lights are very bright. Staffs are excellent and professional. Breakfast is good but doesn’t open until 7:30am.

In a way the stay was rather disappointing and under whelming. Having paid for a larger room etc and also requesting a room as displayed having a full length window: I thought I had overcome the review issues off having a small room. To my disappointment my room was at the back of the hotel with virtually no natural daylight. The actual view was of a horrid dirty building about 10 metres away and to cap it all, there were light industrial fans serving the retail shops and restaurant kitchens. I requested a change of room and was placed in the room immediately opposite looking out onto the street. Again in the morning I was awoken by property renovation work . The banging and drilling was intense, for my room was attached to the adjacent building

Property is on a busy boulevard and I was on the first floor so a bit noisy at night. Be sure to request a room higher up or not facing the main street. Otherwise great hotel Staff is so nice

Die Lage in der Altstadt Lissabons könnte nicht besser sein! Praktisch alles ist von dort aus schnell erreichbar. Leider bedeutet die Lage aber auch, dass im Hotel alles ziemlich eng ist. Das Zimmer war für mich ok. Ich habe tatsächlich schon noch kleinere erlebt. Aber die Enge gilt auch für Flure und Frühstücksbuffet.

I had to change rooms as they were remodeling others rooms on the same floor and noise was a problem. Then the same thing happened on the new floor. The room I was moved into was actually smaller than the one I originally booked which was against good guest service. No attempt was made to compensate for troubles.
I had to change rooms as they were remodeling others rooms on the same floor and noise was a problem. Then the same thing happened on the new floor. The room I was moved into was actually smaller than the one I originally booked which was against good guest service. No attempt was made to compensate for troubles.

We had a really nice stay at the hotel. The room had a good standard and was clean and quiet. The staff was warm, welcoming and attentive. They even surprised me with a birthday cake during our stay which of course made the experience even better. Can definitely recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip to Lisbon.

Be Poet Baixa is a great Boutique Hotel right in the middle of everything. It is truly a hidden gem. Not only is the location great the staff are even better. Starting with Eaves who was so helpful and professional throughout our stay, and even made sure we had a breakfast box on the mornings we couldn’t make breakfast due to our early tours. The hotel does a good job to give a good initial impression. However, the service quality diminishes after that. They do not provide additional coffees or waters beyond the initial amount and charge you for additional. Breakfast staff would not make a coffee because it was within 30 min of the end of breakfast session. Cleaning the room resulted in my belongings knocked off the night table and scattered and left on the floor and under the bed. Additional/spare key card was also taken during cleaning which was concerning, and I had to request that the access cards be changed. Location is good, but there are little service details that need to be improved.

This hotel is by far in the best location for tourists. It is in the heart of the downtown district and very walkable. Everything is at the front door! Breakfast was included and the rooms were clean and spacious. The only drawback was the renovation next door so drilling and hammering commenced at 8 am through 5 pm but no fault of the hotel. I would definitely choose this hotel again. Also the area is very safe at all times of day and night!

Die Lage in der Altstadt Lissabons könnte nicht besser sein! Praktisch alles ist von dort aus schnell erreichbar. Leider bedeutet die Lage aber auch, dass im Hotel alles ziemlich eng ist. Nice hotel conveniently walkable to restaurants and shopping. Taxis can’t drop off or pick-up at the hotel because it isn’t accessible to vehicles. So you have to walk your luggage to and from the hotel. The rooms are very small but clean. Our room faced the front and we could hear loud music from the street at night. Our friends had a room facing the back and couldn’t hear anything at night. So I recommend requesting a room that doesn’t face the front. Breakfast had a nice variety of offerings.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly and the hotel is right in the centre of everything. You can walk to any place from there, just remember your good walking shoes. The room was nice and the bathroom was modern - for me the bed was a bit soft but that is a matter of taste. Some might find it perfect or even too hard. We had a mansard room. It was wonderful. Quiet, comfortable and the block out blinds were fantastic. The bed was comfortable, supportive and spacious king size. Breakfast had plenty of options for us - with fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, milks, juices, ham, cheeses, various bread slices and rolls, various sweet pastries, boiled or scrambled eggs, and you can order tea and coffee to your preference included. The hotel is very nice. This is our 3rd trip in Lisbon and we enjoyed our time there. The staff were amazing and very nice and helpful. The location is great in the city center and everything is walking distance. The breakfast was also great with a lot of different kinds of tropical fruits which we enjoyed eating. They also provide port wine and pastel de nata daily and that was a plus.

The location was excellent. The room itself was nothing special—neither good nor bad. However, there was a noticeable drainage smell, small flies were flying around, and we even encountered a cockroach. Overall, the hotel lacked cleanliness. The carpets in the hallways were covered with stains, and the amenities were extremely limited. There were no bathrobes or slippers. To make matters worse, the Wi-Fi didn’t work for two days. We really had one problem after another. For the price we paid, this hotel was completely unacceptable. This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had.

Unfortunately we were not offered the complimentary drink and pastry on arrival, that other reviewers have mentioned. One other slight niggle was that it advertises that the room offers tea and coffee making facilities which is slightly misleading. Yes it has a coffee machine (that produces hot water) and coffee pods but no teabags or milk and only tiny espresso cups. We did ask for a bigger mug but was only given a pint glass! For someone who has to have a cup of tea to get going in the morning this was disappointing. Saving grace was that we were only a stones throw from cafes (although most of these didn’t open until 8am).
