We arrived after 2am and were greeted quickly. Parking is secure, but space is limited and the spots are small. Still, we parked, showered, slept and left with no issues. There is no lobby, no breakfast, etc. Also, do not pull close to the gate when leaving. Stop at the sign.

The sliding door to the bathroom did not slide right and kept coming open. The bathroom light automatically turns on, flooding the room with light. It also automatically turns off after a few minutes, so if you're in the shower for longer than a couple of minutes, it goes dark. Nice to have free parking, but the spaces are very cramped. Nice, smiling, helpful gentleman behind the reception window.

A very basic and comfortable four day stay for the price. Cleanliness top notch; bed and pillows the best. The location on a busy street provided plenty of street noise, and the parking area was tight if in a large vehicle. Will return when in the area again.

Parking was limited, and they were upfront about that in their description. I felt lucky to have a spot inside the gate. The pictures made me think it was bigger/nicer than it really was. Overall, it was fine. Zero problems. Locked gates to get in/out. I appreciated the safety measures.

The bed frame was fabric (why would they ever choose that?!) and absolutely filthy. The floor was also extremely dirty, even worse in the bathroom. A random dirty carpet in the middle of the floor, obviously there to hide a bigger issue. The only positives - mattress was comfy, and the gated parking lot. Really nice to not have to worry about your vehicle. The downside of the whole experience is that it has been "renovated", and done in a modern and hip way, however the lack of care is immediately recognized. I wouldn't complain if it was a "cheap" hotel. But the fact that I paid $130 for a night is absolutely ridiculous. Central location was nice - Ubered to the Greek Theatre with ease - about a 12 min drive.

Smelled like cheap cleaning product, floors where cheap so looked stained was scared to step on floors barefoot. Parking good, bed comfortable, shops nearby, no late checkout 11am, $200 deposit, i wouldnt stay again i would pay extra for cleaner floors. But if your on a budget its a warm place to sleep.

the rooms looked newly remodeled but they are not, the rooms walls, floors,stained furniture and bathrooms all need Deep cleaned the refrigerator handle was broken and it sounded like it was going out, No point in a remodel if you don’t keep the upkeep to keep it looking nice

From the pictures it looked decent, another story in person. The bathroom was dirty, I could see hair on the floor, they didn’t bother to sweep, vacuum. The shower floor looked like it hadn’t been deep cleaned for awhile. The bed frame was stained in several places. Guess you get what you pay for.

This property was very disappointing. We have stayed in many motels on a whim and you get the occasional bug or dirt, but the amount of dark hair all over room floor was alarming. It was in the bed too. We immediately asked to move rooms, and while the next room was somewhat better, it smelled of smoke covered by a weird scent; there was still dark hair on the floor and some in the bed (but less on the pillows); the bathroom door wouldn't close and stuck awkwardly; the shower drain clogged; and there were stains on the sheets. Oh and the blood on the towel! That was very nice, too. We won't be back. We regret choosing this place. The man at the desk was nice, but I wouldn't ever recommend this place to anyone.

There were stains everywhere, door didn’t close very securely. Doesn’t look nearly as clean or new as the photographs. AC didn’t really work. There’s no lobby. It’s just a sketchy old motel with a new paint job. There’s like 3 different names used throughout the property, even though it was cheap for the area, it felt like a scam. I wouldn’t stay here again.

location is very secure but kind of hard to get into. theres a security gate at the entrance, just need to drive up to ut for it to open. as for the room, the bed we got was a full size instead of a queen that we ordered. that wasnt a big problem.

For the price, it was OK. It was very noisy since it was on the main road. The people upstairs came late and made a lot of noise until about 2am. We had to get up early for our flight so I didn’t sleep all night. If the people above us didn’t make so much noise, it would’ve been so much better. I should’ve spent a little more and stayed somewhere else.

What you would expect from a motel. We would have prefered the sink was separated from the shower so several people could use water at once. The fridge and air system were noisy through the night.On the plus side, the bedding was comfortable and the parking lot was gated. It was a quick ~ 12min drive to UC Berkeley in the morning.

Great shopping, coffee, restaurants within walking distance. Room was huge, plenty of space for two people to do yoga in the mornings. Ask for a street view, rather than a courtyard view. Great staff, easy check-in and checkout, incredible value for the location. Recommend.

The staff was friendly and responsive when we had questions. We liked the fact that parking was included and there were restaurants/shops within walking distance. Also loved that there was a mini fridge and small coffee maker in the room. Bathroom door was a little wonky but everything else was great!

The property is beat up. The photos are not close to what is on Expedia. Floor dirty and worn from suitcase wheels or other things dragged. Bed side rails worn and blackened. Property displays no smoking signs outside and in, but could see tons of cigarette butts throughout property. Vaping clearly going on in rooms around us. No Ice Machine which seems like a simple amenity that every hotel should have. Customer Service poor. Check in and every discussion behind glass is very off putting even with the health risks of our current day. Bathroom light sensor broken and constantly turns on which is tough during the night. The room is really small. The chair should be in the dumpster.

Not bad for the price, but my tv didn’t work and couldn’t get the shower to turn on. Also, front desk is inside front gate so if you get there late call ahead. I arrived around 1045 and I had to wait for another guest to let me in as no one answered the phone. Then the desk behind plexiglass was dark, but luckily someone from the back came out and checked me in.

This motel is in a good location in Oakland, close to Lake Merritt, good neighborhoods and not far from Berkeley. The advantage was the secure parking. The room was spartan and basic. The bed was not the most comfortable, but we were there for 4 nights so we got through that inability to get a really good nights’ sleep. This motel is in a good location in Oakland, close to Lake Merritt, good neighborhoods and not far from Berkeley. The advantage was the secure parking. The room was spartan and basic. The bed was not the most comfortable, but we were there for 4 nights so we got through that inability to get a really good nights’ sleep. Lucky for us we could walk a few blocks to a great neighborhood for a simple breakfast and Peet’s Coffee!

I arrived really late and it was no problem. Place was clean and kinda retro cute. The area is kinda funny. Super close to piedmont st that’s great for walking and shopping. Lots of great restaurants in area. Funky coffee shops and little restaurants on same st as motel as well. Across from car dealerships and very close to Kaiser medical center.

Signature Inn is a nice little gem in a central part of Oakland. I stay here when I’m passing through Oakland. It’s well priced, clean, comfy bed, nice shower head and the parking is secure. What more can you ask for? It’s also pretty close to telegraph Ave where you’ll find a ton of good restaurants.

The best part of this motel is the safety! All rooms and parkings are gated, especially in this unsafe and limited street parking town! The Rooms are clean and spacious! Although no breakfast provided and no microwave, it’s easy to find a place to eat in a walking distance. With this price in Oakland Broadway, this is a nice place to stay. I will stay in this place next time when I come to Oakland.

For the price, this is an excellent deal! Our room was very clean and updated. The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and bars. The gated parking is also a big plus.

Great affordable place near the heart of Oakland. Excellent security, Oakland is kind of a scary reputation. Comfortable, quiet, safe. Rooms are small, no breakfast but there’s a great place across the street, Brenda’s.

The decor is mid-century modern and fun. I price was right. The proximity to Piedmont Ave is great. The area immediately around the hotel has less retail, less inviting. Management is friendly and responsive.

Great shopping, coffee, restaurants within walking distance. Room was huge, plenty of space for two people to do yoga in the mornings. Ask for a street view, rather than a courtyard view. Great staff, easy check-in and checkout, incredible value for the location. Recommend.

The hotel was very cute and fun. I appreciated the gated entry and parking. The room was a bit dirty and the mattress wasn't very comfortable, but it was inexpensive and close to where I needed to be for the week. I am a covid-cautious traveller, so having an exterior door and windows was a bonus.
