We booked Room C and we stayed at Room B, not sure about the difference but the sauna didn't work which was disappointed. We notified the owner and we didn't get any compensation.

We reached the lodge around 9pm, it was very dark and a bit scary as there’s no lamp post

This place was our (group of 3) favorite during our travels to Hokkaido. It was much cozier than the pictures convey and the sauna was a welcome luxury after skiing and very snowy days. It was majestic to be able to walk to Ukimido Pagoda on a moody weather day, then come back to our cozy lodge. It was so helpful to have a washer/dryer and plenty of drying rack space near the heater. There were many good restaurants just 20 minutes from the lodge near the south side of the lake. We would love to stay here again if we make a return trip to Japan!

The location is in the opposite side of Toyako Onsen, and there are very few óptions of public transportation, good if you have a car. The Park in front in the Lake is nice.
