Cheap and cheerful, great place for a comfortable nights sleep. Clean bathroom and comfortable beds, ice machine and fridge available. Tucumcari has loads to offer and this was the perfect spot for the evening. No frills motel.

Greeted by front desk staff on arrival. Complimentary water (two bottles) at check in. Room was clean and fresh smelling. Rated three stars for amenities due to lack of hair dryer (which is why I always travel with one, just in case), and no pool (which I knew going in. Otherwise, this was a nice small hotel.

It was solid motel from the mid-century era. It’s been remodeled mostly & from walking the property, I can tell the owners are not done. It was clean & very dog friendly, which a huge plus for me.

Black mold around the edge of the Barthtub and wall behind toilet. Water leaking between the tub Spicket and tub, because it is not mounted right. Molding at the floor coming apart. Carpet is nasty. AC filter was plugged up. No maintenance at this place at all. But this is what you get when certain people start buying out places and all they want is the money and don’t care about upkeep. Swimming pools are being filled with sand and cement, that way they don’t have to be maintained. Would not recommend or stay there again.

This was a great price, so expectations were not terribly high. Still, the room was clean and comfortable. There was no coffee maker in the room or coffee in the lobby. No breakfast was provided but, again, it was a budget priced room. The property seems to be in process of renovation and our room had been done except it still needed a tiny bit of detail work done. If the price had been higher, it would have earned less stars, but I felt we received good value for our money.

You get what you pay for. Most of the room was clean until you went in the bathroom. The toilet smelled and had traces of urine build up on the seat hinges and down the front of the bowl. The sink trap smelled and needed cleaned out. Luckily I had sanitizing wipes with me. The bed was very comfortable.

The man at reception was very pleasant and offered two complementary bottles of water. Which was nice. However, Room #141 needs some attention. The worst thing was the Smashed ROACH on interior wall beside entry door. We got in late, so I didn’t see it until the morning in the day light. The lamp shade is cracked & missing pieces. Bed Frame closest to the bathroom creaks/clanks and is not level. The bathroom is rug torn and ratty. The shower curtain rod is broken. Toilet reservoir is very low to refill. The AC/Heat unit very loud. We did not sleep well at all. I wanted to speak to the manager in the morning; but there was none in the office.

A very unwell individual was two units down from ours. He seemed to be along term tenet and verbally assaulted us over our dogs using the grassy area to go to the bathroom. We almost left due to feeling unsafe. And felt we needed to park further from our unit to avoid any further interactions with this individual. The room was clean on the surface but actually had dead bugs in carpet crevices and it was clear there has not been a commitment to any deep cleaning. We skipped our showers and left as early as we could the next morning,

First room had hair in the bed. Got a different room and still saw one hair but I was so tired I stayed anyway. New room smelled like smoke even though I booked non-smoking. Carpet was dirty with dust in the corners and a large toenail clipping. Didn’t feel super safe here. There must have been people living permanently in the adjacent room as they had a grill and some junk out front of their room.

The bed was surprisingly comfortable, but it needs a new foundation or box spring. Every time I rolled over, I woke my husband. The desk in the room was large and comfortable, and I was able to get some work done. The room needs a second chair. My husband kept taking the desk chair for a place to sit when I needed it to work on my computer.

This was a really nice hotel kind of old school but clean new carpets, tile in the bathroom. Super comfortable bed. Very quiet room soft sheets. Room was dark. Price was great. Proprietor was very friendly when we checked in. I would definitely recommend this and would stay here again.

I notified management that I’d arrive really late, and there wasn’t any issues. Great customer service, and the rooms were really clean! The room was even nice and cool after being out in the heat. Probably my new place to stay whenever I have to stop at Tucumcari while on long road trips.

Very disappointed in this hotel. One thing i used to love about hotels.com was they were able to help if you had an emergency, but some hotels are more concerned with getting your money no matter what. This hoitel - Budget Inn - is one of those hotels. We had a situation come up and my husband had to head home, and he couid not stay the night there. Insyead of working with us this hotel jusy said too bad, you lose your money wether you stay or not. For that reason only, we do not recommend this hitel now or ever. We will let all our friemds and family know not to stay at rhis hotel ever.

First time booking there. Coming in off the highway going to the Inn, we passed many derelict buildings which made me uncomfortable. But I thought it is what it is. Long story short. Conditions improved as we got closer. Check-in was smooth. Staff helpful and pleasant. The room was fine for our needs. Great price point, clean. Good wifi for streaming. Got a good nights rest. Nice to have parking for offloading luggage at the door. If anything negative, they could pay closer attention to details re finer cleaning, ie baseboards etc… but, meh, not a deal breaker! Will stay again.

It has what you need for an overnight when you're traveling on I-40. It's an older property in the classic Route 66 style in a decent part of Tucumcari although it's not on the Interstate. It's clean, comfortable bed, shower with tub, microwave and refrigerator but no coffee maker. Owners are polite, welcoming and make an effort to make your stay pleasant.

Gentlemen at front desk was nice enough to show us the room before booking. Beds were comfortable and everything seemed to work. Carpet was really nasty. Probably because they allow pets. Biggest concern was when you pulled the shower diverter it would shoot water into an open hole in the wall around the spigot. This is certainly causing mold in the walls. Bathroom door also sticks. Certainly not the nicest hotel but it was fine for the price and we were only sleeping there one night. No coffee available.

I needed to travel for a work. Stayed 3 nights, check in went smoothy room was great. Shower had great water pressure and good water temps. A.C/heat unit worked did not have any problem with it during my stay. Microwave mini fridge and tv. No coffee maker. Location was perfect across the street was pow wows great food. Around the corner was Mesalands Community Collage for the price you can’t go wrong
