Great property, service was excellent!! Only minor drawback was the pool water was “chilly” 😊

The pool heater was broken so we didn’t swim☹️

Everything was very good with the exception of the swimming pool. The drinking fountain and the entry door had rust on it. Disgusting, especially the fountain. I wish I had taken pictures

Room was beautiful and very clean. Air conditioner in room struggled to keep our room cool...it stayed at about 75°F. The small fridge was handy, but it didn't cool at all. Had a very small pool area, and the water in the pool had a sheen look to it floating on the top. The free morning breakfast was so good. Lots and lots of choices, both hot and cold. Staff was wonderful and very friendly.

Check in person was nice, breakfast was good. More options than we thought there would be. However, room wasn’t the cleanest, dirt smeared on bathroom floor, actual dirty mop streaks, rust around sink and tub drains. Elevator floor was really littered, like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a week. The worst was the pool. It had a weird film in it, very cloudy. Wouldn’t let kids swim in it. They were disappointed. The pool room itself was dirty with stuff all over the floor around the pool, even a clump of hair.

Someone had a medical emergency while we were there. The staff did an amazing job handling the situation. The breakfast staff was amazing. The only thing that I didn’t like was the size of the pool. Very small. The hotel was booked solid and the pool was busy and didn’t fit all the people who wanted to swim. Overall decent hotel with a great staff.

The rooms are very clean.. the beds are very comfortable no noise as u sleep.. loved the air conditioning..free breakfast every morning.. loved the fitness room n pool

Staff was very nice. Breakfast everyday was great. Hotel is clean everywhere. Nice fitness room and indoor pool. Laundry available but requires 20 quarters to do one load - should plan this in advance. Updated room and bathroom. Very clean. Loved that they had a microwave and mini fridge. Good bed sheets (nice and soft). Wish we could have rented a movie but this wasn’t an option. Overall, a very nice place. Would absolutely stay here again!

Pool and pool deck was disgustingly filthy. We stayed 3 nights and it never appeared that anyone had cleaned up food wrappers, bandaid, hair, etc. There was black and green mold on the pool deck/grout as well as standing water. The pool water was murky. Our room was in fact clean and decent and was quiet! Breakfast was substandard. If you have children staying with you that want to swim, stay at another hotel. Other hotels nearby are cheaper. We would have switched but I could not get a refund.

The room smelled like a wet dog when the air conditioner was not running. The light right inside the room, when I called about it the said there was work done on the roof. The elevator was dirty, sticky stuff on floors and stainless steel looked like it was not wiped down in weeks. Very dissatisfied with this Holiday Inn.

Like - Hotel very clean. Room very clean. Outside areas very clean, garage cans NOT overflowing. Breakfast very good.

We loved how clean and new the hotel felt. The breakfast was amazing, too.

Our first room only had the sheer shade at the window, which looked to be wired as an electrical shade. Unfortunately it did not work, no power to the switch, and there was no privacy shade. We alerted the front desk. They offered another room. That room had issues with the tv that kept cutting out with a message that said it had lost connection and that we needed to contact our internet provider. Once again, the manager at the front desk was prompt as coming to the room to fix it. There were loose wires in the back of the tv. Both rooms had stained carpet, the second had leftover popcorn under the sofa. Also both room the furniture had stains. I required a handicap accessible room due to a recent injury. With the second room not having the equipment that we needed for safety in the shower, the manager did provide a shower seat to us. We also found a hair in our bed, but by this time we were exhausted and just brushed it out. One of the washclothes that we used still smelled of ladys perfume, not like a typical hotel linen smell.of freshly bleached and sanitized linens. The lobby appeared to be clean. We will be traveling to this location quite frequently in the future, and will not be staying at this motel.

Clean comfortable room. Check in was a smooth and pleasant experience . No complaints whatsoever, would highly recommend.

Front desk staff was friendly but the breakfast was gross and our room was in need of repairs and better cleaning. The carpet was missing pieces and the rest was not glued down, so corners were popped up. The bathroom was not cleaned good. Our A/C did not work well and the room would get hot. This hotel was not what I expect from a Holiday Inn and not what I expected for the amount paid. Very disappointing.

Since we had to be close to the hospital, we went to a few hotels in the area looking for a last minute booking and this Holiday Inn was by far the cleanest. Easy check-in, rooms were clean, breakfast was nice, and staff was very accommodating.

Very clean hotel & our room had everything we needed. Surprisingly the breakfast was delicious even though it’s not cooked to order! My husband loved the freshly grind coffee too. We highly recommend this hotel.

Staff was very polite and helpfull. Check in was quick and smooth. King room was clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was hot and fresh. The pancake maker was nice and pancakes were delicious. Nice location to resturants and the zoo and beach.

Room was clean. Staff was attentive. However the refrigerator did not cool we had to press a button to restart it takes 24 hours before they replace it and we just stayed for one day so warm drinks that night

Air conditioning either broke in the middle of the night or just couldn’t cool the room as needed.

I had a room on the ground floor next to a side entrance. There was a lot of traffic in and out of that door - it didn't stop until 11pm and started again at 4am. The door slams shut and is extremely loud. Needless to say it was not a good stay

Shades in room did not go up. Complained at check in , no one ever came to repair. Toilet did not flush properly either . Beds were comfortable and breakfast was good .

Stayed for 2 nights while visiting Indiana Dunes NP in July 2025. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning. The area around hotel is safe and 10 minute drive to wonderful restaurants. About 30 minutes drive to get to West beach- the western end of Indiana Dunes NP. Room was comfortable and clean. Unfortunately the television did not work on our first night. We called 3 times to front desk and they blamed it on the weather and that the televisions were not working in the entire building. After 4 hours waiting for television to come back on, we discovered the guests next to us had television reception just fine. The staff finally came to our room to try and fix the TV with no success. Very disappointed, felt deceived by front door staff. Fortunately, the television worked the second night.

Friendly staff, nice big room.

We were greeted with a friendly smile by a very helpful front desk gal, who not only checked us in, but answered our questions about the area and gave recommendations for restaurants. Patricia, the head of house keeping, and her staff did an excellent job of keeping the property clean. The breakfast buffet had multiple selections and was well stocked. We’ll definitely stay here again!!!

The night shift lady was pretty straight forward and to the point, not overly friendly. But she did her job. The lady on day shift was super upbeat and so kind.

Really fit the bill for what we needed--good breakfast, extremely welcoming staff and comfortable room. They have a white board listing all the fun events in the community that week, which we didn't need but would be super helpful for families staying longer than we did.

Great. Was booked at last minute due to stopping for weather. Check in lady was wonderful and helpful.

When we arrived we found out there was no power in half the hotel. The staff were very sympathetic and trying their best given the situation. They gave us a room with power but even in that room there was no air conditioning and only half the outlets worked, so we had no fridge or coffee facilities. Once there we were given the option to leave but it was 10:30pm and there were six of us with two children so I needed the Suite. They also had no computer system which meant no refund at that time. So we had to stay. It was the most uncomfortable night we have ever spent in a hotel room. I would have loved to have gotten a message from the hotel before arrival so I could have looked for a different exit. I know through Expedia the hotel can send messages and they must come from a centralized system of some kind considering before arrival I got a message asking to ensure my contact information was up-to-date in case the hotel needed to contact me. Holiday Inn is a large organization, even if this hotel couldn’t call out, there should have been a way for the chain to contact guests before they arrived at 10:30 after driving for 8 hours with children to a hotel with limited power and very few facilities. Also, an offer of a refund would have been greatly appreciated but there was no follow up or check-in.

I can't say enough great things about this location. First of all it was clean comfortable, the free breakfast was good. The staff was top notch. We ran into car trouble on our way back from a family vacation in Michigan. We had to leave our car and my husband behind the day we were to check out. They offered us a late checkout and when it came down to the end of the day and my husband could not fix the car he had been working on in the parking lot, they offered him a room at the last minute until we could make arrangements to get him back to Iowa. They held the keys to our car until we could make it back the following weekend to get it towed away. It was a stressful process being 6 hours away and dealing with a broken down car but they made it a little easier. Definitely a 5 star business!

My 2 daughters my wife and myself were having pizza and holding a normal voice conversation laughing and joking and bringing each other up to date. Mine you we didn’t have the TV on. All of a sudden there was a knock on the door from the front desk person Tiffany telling us we were making to much noise. We are still shocked. Out of all the rooms in the hotel how did she choose our room?

The entire staff was very helpful and kind. The breakfast lady worked hard in keeping things filled and hot. The cinnamon rolls were the best, of course, but everything was good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The city of Michigan City had several things to do, including the beach. It was close enough to Michigan, to get to some of the other towns that were magnificent.

Nice hotel, 15 mins to Washington Beach, quite, will come again

This Holiday Inn was new. Clean and well planned out. Near I-80. Plenty of places to eat. Suites are big and beds are comfy. Med firm bed. No place to eat in the hotel. Negative, tubs are slippery. We put a towel in the bottom. Staff is nice & friendly.

The location was great a few short miles from lake Michigan City beach . Breakfast was great friendly staff ,

The property was located near everything I wanted to do as I was traveling from one state to another. To the staff keep up the good work.

Closed to the highway and the shopping mall Square One.

This was a very solid stay. The room was clean and comfortable. Very nice breakfast with eggs, bacon biscuits, and pancakes. Decent coffee. We did not check out the pool so I cannot speak to that. Check in was smooth and pleasant.

Bed was ok. Breaskfast was lacking. Wont stay again

The continental breakfast was one of the best we ever had. Very nice room and clean.

Nice hotel for a night or two. The hotel is in a good location and is very clean and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was just okay but free is free.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was helpful and accommodating of special requests. Our only complaint is that, although the breakfast was good, they seemed to have trouble keeping up. Items like coffee and eggs were not available without a wait.

The breakfast buffet was good but not great. I chose this location for the breakfast buffet for convenience. Also, we had 4 people in our party and only 2 bath towels with a placard that said we should hang them up to reuse. All i can say about that is YUCK! We will not choose Holiday Inn again.

Breakfast was excellent...

After driving for a day this place was welcoming, clean and comfortable! This hotel is modern and up to date style. The bed, pillows and linens were great! We are gluten free and found lots of options for breakfast in the morning. I enjoyed a cheese omelette, potatoes and oatmeal! I would recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again next time I’m in the area! Thanks for the excellent hospitality!
