JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District

Amazing hotel in heart of Savannah. Loved the rooftop pool lounge and the riverside dining options. Room was large and well appointed. 5 stars.

Everything was resort perfect the gym, the pool, the accommodations and restaurants! The staff was amazing as well. The spa was a bit small for the type of place this was and the cost.

The pool area is small and not equipped enough for the 3 buildings as part of the property. Saturday it seemed they had opened up “Day Passes” to guests not staying at the JW therefore making it overcrowded. Other than that we LOVED our stay in your wonderful property.

The property is very nice. Three different buildings all in a row. We were in the three muses building, a bit contemporary compared to the other two. Lots of food and beverage options and convienent to walk up River Street or up to City Market. The staff was friendly and helpful, from Kcris at valet to Mackenzie at the front desk and Miranda at the Smokehouse. Only disappointment was they closed the pool for a private party and all guests had to leave without even a compensatory offer for the inconvenience.

This Hotel is amazing. The fossils are throughout the hotel and they are very family oriented. They have a scavenger hunt for the kids to complete along with a prize for completing it. We are definitely making another trip to Savannah, and we will stay here again. It will be my hotel of choice every trip to Savannah. The staff are amazing, valet parking is included, the restaurants are fantastic, stunning views of the river and a lot of history to see. I would give so many more stars than 5. This is a must visit place if you are coming to Savannah.

Parking is EXPENSIVE! The property has an excellent location and is visually beautiful.

No convenience store, no cafe till 11pm, only one elevator running. Maintenance poor. Took 25 minutes to have valet take bags on a Monday. Fail to upgrade with my Marriott card. The parking everyday for valet is ridiculous 54.00 a day.

Our stay at the Marriott was spectacular! This is a perfect place to explore the Historic Heart of Savannah from! The hotel itself is a museum set right on the boardwalk along the river. The conversion concept from power plant to luxury hotel is brilliantly executed in true Marriott style. The design is amazing and just brings a smile to your face. And of course in true Marriott fashion the linens, bed, shower & amenities are top notch. We drove there so had a vehicle and found the Valet Service easy to use & the staff were fantastic! Endless places to eat & grab a drink ! The hotel has a fabulous African themed lounge and 2 rooftop lounges, the Steakhouse was great and the boardwalk eateries were super casual with great food. And if you are looking for and love history then you are surrounded by it in this location. AND who doesn’t want to stay where they have a giant dinosaur in the lobby !

Staff couldn't have been nicer. Property was beautiful and convenient to everything. Multiple dining options on property to suit all tastes/budget. The pool area was clean and relaxing. It was such a joy to cool off there! My room was a little bit noisy, but nothing to really complain about - afterall this is a hotel right in the middle of lots of things going on.

Was a quick but fantastic stay! Easy access to the river walk and an easy walk to the rest of the downtown historic district. The pool was perfect and such a nice relaxing area. Yolanda was very helpful at the pool bar

This was a very strange hotel stay for us. The location is excellent, but we were placed in a building that was adjacent and quite empty, and the room was never serviced in the 3 days we were there. In the evening anywhere between 6 and 7:15 someone would knock on the door to ask us if we wanted more water or coffee. It was a very strange setup. Additionally the Peloton in the gym really needs to be serviced!

Property was nice, room was good, bed was comfy, bathroom looked fancy, but shower was mediocre at best. And housekeeping was very disappointing. First day, no housekeeping showed up (and we were out of the room for at least 8 hours that day). They did deliver extra towels after we called. Second day housekeeping only after we informed them we were running low on TP and tissues. I picked up trash in the hallway (which was there for a few hours)and I put it on a table by the elevator, it sat there for over 24 hours. (No trash container in hallway to dispose of the trash. And then other trash piled up on the table.) Staffing not overly friendly or helpful.

Gorgeous hotel but lacking in areas. We had a very nice room with a view of the river and River Street. However, it smelled of dog pee and my bag retained this smell after sitting on the floor. We were in Savannah for my wedding. I personally spoke with the front desk several times in regards to hair, flowers and cake needing access to my floor. I was told it was not an issue, they took my name and the names of the individuals needing access. None of this was passed on and I had been assured it would not be an issue. It was an issue and caused several delays for the day. Also, my friend was staying at the hotel as well. Her bathroom flooded due to no shower curtain. It took over 5 hours to for someone to attend to the issue. This was after calling the from desk 3 times.

Fairly clean, beautiful hotel. I like that they held our bags during checkout so we could do more sightseeing before leaving. The only thing I was unhappy about was a fraudulent charge to my room that the hotel did not take care of.

Although the boardwalk and dinosaur attractions were great, our room wasn’t as cleaned as it should’ve been. There was hair everywhere and a specific humid smell within the room. I had to keep my children out of the room for most of our stay because they were too sensitive to the smell. Additionally, had to keep calling for more toiletries when we ran out, but the staff took longer than anticipated with the response times (30-60 minutes). Some of the towels provided had stains on them. I had to go out and buy a couple to use throughout our stay.

Overall the hotel is beautiful. It is in a perfect location. Resort fees a bit much, but I loved it until the last day where they didn’t clean my room. Then I had to call 6 times for toilet paper and a new Iron because the one we had had something stuck to it that stained my clothes. And then had to wait 20 mins for the valet to bring my car before I could leave for the airport because they couldn’t find where they parked it. It’s almost as if they forgot we were staying there. Would I give them another try, sure thing. Hopefully it will be a better experience throughout.

The bathroom in the room was dirty. The lotion bottle was open and used. There were old (from the previous guest) pill capsules broken open on the carpet that my toddler daughter pickdd up. The front desk was very slow and our lugge didnt come tp our room for over 90 minutes. Over priced and over rated hotel.

The hotel is lovely, I stayed there before. The only thing that wasn’t great was our view. It was called an atrium view yea view of the roof of the atrium!

The parking was difficult to find and we were unaware of the destination fees.

Very stylish and comfortable. A special place to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.

It’s a beautiful hotel. The room that I was provided on the second floor with a “view” was very noisy. We were literally placed next to a lounge that had music blasting for a majority of the night. You can hear people going up & down the stairs in the hotel; very noisy area. We were given vouchers to use at local restaurants on the property. We visited the one next to the check in & the service was terrible! Nobody greeted us while we were waiting to be seated, mind you there were 4 workers at the time. Someone sat us & said a server would be right with us. 15 mins later & nobody had come, I had to go up the the 3 workers at the register & ask if someone was going to tend to us

View was stunning. Older property but well maintained. We stayed in 2534 (5th floor) and night noise was overwhelming. Noise was not from outside property but event venue above our room. Saturday pm bass from music was thumping in our room. Sunday pm, chairs/tables scooted above us until 2am.

this is a fabulous property, every single staff member went above and beyond! the rooms are beautiful. We ate at several restaurants on property, and all were awesome (especially the Savannah Tequila Company). I will definitely stay here again. My only complaint, (and it isn't their fault) our room was street side in the Three Muses building and a business right across the street (I think the breakfast place) cranked music super loud at like 6:00am.

This JW is a cool property but I would never go back. Long story short, our room was directly under the night club (building 2, 5th floor). It was so loud that you could sing along with everyone else in there. We called the first night and complained & they said it would only go on until 12 am but then Fri & Sat were MUCH later. You would have thought the website would have warned you in advance and at a minimum, upon check-in, they would warn you, but no, not a word about what our 3 night experience was going to be like. After we complained and asked for a follow up, no one called the next day. I finally went to the front desk myself and there were no other options to move. They initially offered a $50/night credit but considering we spent $629/night and couldn’t go to sleep until 1:00 am , that wasn’t good enough. We also had major housekeeping problems. No towels replenished, no coffee replaced and no cups. After two days of this, I had to call again. Their concierge, who I had a very hard time understanding, told me that I had to call everytime I wanted something replenished. I just could not believe that was true so I kept questioning to which she got irritated. She kept telling me that even though housekeeping took EVERY towel, not replacing them was standard. When the housekeeping finally came, they confirmed that was in fact NOT true and it was clear that for two days, housekeeping staff was just being lazy (his words, not mine).

A lovely stay with exceptional service. Rooms that are adjacent to late night venues with loud music include sound machines and ear plugs to help you get a restful sleep. Can always count on JW Marriott to pay attention to the details and take good care of me while traveling.

The team at JW was outstanding! From the moment we arrived and served champagne while checking in to our last interaction with the valet, everyone was world class. Will definitely stay when in town

The property and the staff was great. Ryan the valet parking attendant was super nice and was very helpful in getting me everything I needed . It was my first time there and he made my check in experience very easy and pleasant. I do plan on coming back!!

We arrived past check in time and our room wasn’t ready. They were busy, so fin, no biggie. We went to have a drink and waited and it didn’t take too long. We made several requests prior to arriving and none were accommodated when we finally got into our room. We had to call down for a bottle of champagne and crib that we preordered. Our room was dirty and things were broken. Our first day, there was a 6 hour torrential downpour. We tried getting a taxi, an Uber and the bus but had no luck. We called the hotel to pick us up. They said they were on their way. Never heard back. After waiting 1.5 hours, we couldn’t get a response on an ETA and ended up walking (with two small kids) for over a mile in the soaking rain. We didn’t hear back until I texted the concierge letting them know we had walked, and they responded (LOL). The second day, I received a text from the hotel asking me about my experience. I outlined the room challenges, and said we hadn’t had our room cleaned in 48 hours. They sent someone to fix the issues immediately (which wouldve been great, except our kids were trying to take a nap). My husband answered the door and told them very politely to come back later. Then I received from the hotel text saying “some guy in the room said everything was fine.” No one would answer phones the entire time we stayed there and the only way to communicate was via text and in person. The property was nice, but the service was lacking and the area felt unsafe after dark.

A bit too warm but we were able to ask for a fan and that helped. Paid for early check in at noon but room wasn’t ready until after 1:30. No refund was offered. Too many taxes and fees. Parking was 54 a night plus tax. Room was clean a bit on the small side.

Really nice hotel! Champagne when you check-in. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel. Would only stay here if coming back to Savannah!

The staff at this property is AMAZING, and that is really an understatement. Melissa Williams who helped us get checked in is EXCEPTIONAL. She made us feel special in so many ways. It’s been so long since I felt this level of service at a hotel/resort. For this reason alone, I will be back.

Wonderful property!! We weren't thrilled with the $54 per day parking fee or the $36 a day resort fee. Not sure what the resort fee includes as we weren’t told about it at check-in. They couldn’t print our bill at check-out to review and said it was emailed to us. It was not, so 2 days later I called and they emailed it. That’s when I noticed these charges. Two night stay and over $190 in parking, resort fee and tax for them. That was shocking!

Very neat location with plenty to do around the hotel. Showed up to check in at 5:45 PM room was not ready until 6:30 PM. Had dinner reservation that evening at 7:45PM. Tried to keep our luggage with us because we had to get ready for dinner knowing may be a while for bell

Every staff member we came across was very helpful and friendly. They all went out of their way to help or answer a question. Great place to stay and looking forward to returning!!

The JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is a lovely hotel with some quirks that need addressing. While the room facing the river was quite nice and featured a pleasant door to the WC, our overall experience had significant drawbacks. Firstly, the noise from the bars across the street was disruptive until midnight, despite the hotel's claims of soundproofing. Additionally, I left a pair of expensive pants in the room, and despite knowing exactly where I left them, they were not found. My repeated calls over three days yielded no results, which was very upsetting. The hotel's logistical issues also marred our stay. Upon arrival, the computers were down in building 3, and instead of staff assisting us, we had to lug our bags back and forth between buildings 1 and 3. Valet service was similarly inconvenient, requiring us to drive back to building 1. For the price, I expected a much smoother experience. The lack of response from the GM regarding our concerns further disappointed us. Given these issues, we are doubtful we will return for our bi-annual visit. The location and the hotel's various restaurants are commendable, but the overall service needs improvement to meet the standards expected of the JW Marriott brand.

Great location on the river with plenty of restaurants and shopping options. Fantastic lobby with artwork and fossils in display like a museum. Friendly and courteous staff.

Really nice new hotel. Beautiful Lobby and great dining options. We loved the art and Geods in the lobby. It’s right on the river so get a river view so you can watch the shipping containers go by. We really enjoyed that. It is at the bottom of a hill and to get most everywhere in the city you need to climb steep, historic steps. The hotel is also spread out quite a bit so there is some walking. If you’re not able to walk well I wouldn’t recommend it.

The room was great- view and shower were amazing. :) Food was great- especially the Chop House. All staff were very nice and helpful with the exception of the checkout staff. They seemed very put out with us asking them to call a taxi.

Property was amazing. The river view was mesmerizing and the displays in the power plant were unreal. Only issue was with the shower. I had to call engineering multiple times due to lack of hot water, or lack of cold water. Also, with 12 restaurants, the room service menu was extremely limited .

If you are eating anywhere on property you need reservations at the many restaurants. however bar seating is available at times. Hotel cleanliness was average, expected a an excellent hotel, when really it’s average with a fancy museum in it. One positive was being right on river st and across from BRCC!

This JW Marriott is one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. I’m a hotel snob and I’ve stayed in some good ones and some bad one, but this property is exquisite!!! 14 restaurants on the property were phenomenal. Tasty, service was excellent and we always got a seat. We ate at Tartines every morning for a delicious breakfast every morning and the service was exquisite. I loved hearing from one of the workers who served , saying “thank you my friend”. So personal and warm. Great front desk staff. Huge beautiful room. Only thing, the shower needed to be stronger and the water closet needed an air vent. The $36 vouchers for food gave us the incentive to eat on the property. With so many choices it was a Pleasure to experience all the options. Five star all the way.

The meal option ions were extremely limited for someone with celiac. No gluten free options at several restaurants. No gluten free pizza crust. Very poor information from concierge regarding gluten free options in nearby restaurants. The worst place I have stayed in years for menus regarding which items could be modified to be gluten free. Very disappointing.

This is a very large property with many dining and shopping options on the riverfront. It is an extremely busy hotel and the staff was helpful but overwhelmed.

Loved all the different dining options onsite. And the resort credit was an added bonus

This is the best place to stay in Savannah! The hotel is a museum full of dinosaur and stone artifacts and replicas. The location is right on the river which is within walking distance to numerous restaurants, bars and live entertainment. The hotel has allot of great restaurants and bars on property too. Gorgeous hotel great service and lots of entertainment for the whole family!
