I loved staying here! The staff was so friendly and helpful. They gave us restaurant recommendations, set up a Tuk Tuk tour of the city, and set up transportation and a visit to a wine tasting in Douro valley. The hotel was comfortable, clean, pretty, and nice. The spa was cute and I had a nice massage. The little library for meals was also great. We didn’t get to swim in the pool but it looked lovely. The location was central to many things but it was further up the hill and tucked away compared to the river side where it seemed was all the energy and crowds.

Beautiful hotel that blends old and new. Gorgeous decor. Thoughtful staff. Comfortable and impressive rooms. Many amenities. Honestly one of the best stays I have had in Europe; we had a family suite, which allowed us to partition space and give everyone privacy in what felt like very opulent yet comfortable surroundings. A truly lovely stay at the Torel Palace. A beautiful building, large, spacious rooms which were very clean and the service was faultless. Little touches like turndown service, we got champagne and delicious sweets on arrival and again on our last night. The breakfast was really good, a good selection of hot and cold dishes. I love the hotel! we stayed 2 nights during our visit in Porto. We used Valet parking and when we arrived it was raining but the staff was already waiting outside when he saw us approaching. They are so friendly and genuine and helpful. The check in was very smoothly and we were offered with drinks and snacks. The lobby is beautiful and they have a very tastful and nicely decorated library cafe. The breakfast is in restaurant Blind and the service and food are excellent. They also have a garden that you can sit out to enjoy the weather when it’s good. Our room is also very clean and well decorated. We were offered Easter snacks during our stay as well. Overall I would like ho go back to stay in this hotel if I ever go back to Porto

The check in procedure was very good. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It is a beautiful hotel in easy walking distance of everything. There are some nice little touches like a turn down service. Our only negative was we felt the bathroom was not very functional in terms of counter space.

Staff was lovely and accommodating. Location was excellent. The renovation to an historic building; however attractive, sometimes didn’t work. Skeleton keys were not easy to manage. There should be more hangers, drawers, and shelving space, but the rooms were tight. The only downside. Overall an enjoyable stay in a lovely city.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated so well by the lovely staff. Bruna was awesome. She knew we had spent a night in Porto before checking in to the hotel and yet she gave us a map and outlined must see places and gave us restaurant recommendations. The other 5 star hotel we stayed at never bothered. Every time we walked into the reception area the staff stood up out of respect., Russ was also fantastic! The hotel’s breakfast was excellent. Each room represents a writer or poet and there are books throughout the hotel and hanging creatively from the ceiling in the reception and library. We will definitely come back and stay here again.

Wile traveling in Portugal, this hotel was our favorite hotel to stay at. We had an amazing experience here and highly recommend this hotel while visiting Porto. We were welcomed by the most kind and helpful hotel staff and given a glass of Port wine at check-in that we still think about today. Bruna, Hugo, and Francisca at the reception desk made our stay memorable. They were so helpful answering any questions we had about the city or giving us tips and guidance on where to eat, what to do, and about transportation options. They definitely contributed to our wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. In fact, every employee at this hotel including housekeeping, the staff at breakfast, and all at the reception desk were great. This hotel itself is conveniently located in the city center and close to shopping, eating, historical landmarks and museums. My husband and I were able to walk everywhere we wanted to visit and easily hop on a Hop On Hop Off bus to fully see all of Porto. It’s a boutique hotel with only 24 rooms housed in a historic mansion. Our stay included buffet breakfast which had a wonderful spread and was very delicious. The best buffet breakfast we had on our trip. There is a self service laundry facility next door should you need to launder any clothes. If traveling to Porto, we would highly recommend this hotel. You will not regret it.
