The room with an ensuite was great. The bed was a dream to be had to sleep in. The feel of their lightly starched silky feeling sheets is like they are new. Good flow of hot water. The big royal hotel breaky was massive and great. The beer could be colder perhaps ifwas great they used chilled glasses that would help. This isnt the Hilton but they are working on it and it is value for money. Be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs. Ive stayed here a few times and Ill be back

This hotel is currently undergoing extensive renovations which was not conveyed to me when I booked a room. There were holes in the wall and no on site parking available- it was advised that we park in Kmart next door- the staff were helpful but we chose to cancel our booking and staff refunded our money.

A great location that is Central to everything. If you just want a bed for the night and you don't mind stairs this is great. The staff are really helpful and the bistro has great food.

This older pub is undergoing major renovations and should be absolutely great when finished. The large single bed was extremely comfortable and even my phone shut down. lol. My original booking didn't go through and staff was very helpful in helping me get a suitable room. I had everything I needed for a night and the location is in the middle of town. Parking is on the roadside which appears to be ok in Orange.I trust they'll put a lift in as part of the renos. The steak I had downstairs was cooked perfect and well presented. $4 for sause appeared a bit expensive. The beer is cold in the main bar and the TV's had a range of shows on. I'll be back.

Magnificent 1906 hotel in the centre of Orange NSW. Currently undergoing renovations which will make it even better. Excellent value for money. We had dinner, bed and breakfast for two people for $AUD 175.

They are in the middle of doing a lot of renovations, so some areas are very nicely do but other areas are rather old and tired. Should be lovely when all the works are finished. Dining room and meals are great

this was very basic accommodation. one shared microwave on second floor. shower over bath ok but not the rather old shower curtain and a bath that needed cleaning. o bed comfortable.

they are doing renovations so they use that as an excuse. we did not have any hot water, they were resetting it in the night but still no better in the morning. We did not have any channels on the TV. the manager came up and set us up with only one channel via the internet, which did not work continuously due to us being on the top floor. The bed was comfortable. the A/C was very inefficient as a heater, and the remote was difficult to work out (no instructions) We don't have A/C so didn't know how to work the remote.

Very well priced. Comfortable rooms. Quiet. Toilet in shared bathroom didn't have lock. When I tried to ring to notify of late arrival call ended after 1 ring. However check in is to midnight so good for the later arriver.

For a last minute stop over in Orange at only $60 couldn’t have ask for any more. Despite some of the reviews we saw, 4-5 star hotels had similar so took a risk and stayed at The Royal. Take into account it’s an old hotel but the bar and restaurant areas have been refurbished the upstairs accommodation has been untouched for years. My room was large and had a fridge and coffee making amenities. The only think to be careful of is where your room overlooks. Mine was on the street corner which has lights crossing the street which were on all night and the curtains didn’t block the light out. Also I was woken up pretty hourly until 3am with people leaving various venues that surround the Royal.

There was no tv remote control. The carpets were sooooo worn and dirty. The set up of the room was wrong for the tv.

I paid for, but didn't stay at this property. I booked a room on Wotif, while on a work trip, happy to stay at a discount property as I actually like the "tradies and labourers" ambience of old hotels with shared bathrooms and friendly public bars. However, when I got to the hotel, the room I booked (private shower, shared toilet) wasn't available. So, they swapped me to a fully shared bathroom room. Opened the room's door, and there was somebody there already in bed. Not sure where the problem was, Wotif or the Royal, but they actually didn't have any room to book, but both Wotif and the Hotel thought that they did have. They gave me a cash refund and I found a room elsewhere.

Unsure how to rate this, as the hotel does not have my booking record booked through Expedia (first time in my travel), give me a bit of surprised. Unsure about which party fault of overbooked maybe, luckily i arrived upon check-in time and not in a hurry. The hotel service staff and Expedia response were quick and helpful to get me a different room. I appreciate very much their patient and service, particular the Hotel receptionist/bar staff and Expedia relocation phone customer service. Thing maybe different if i arrived at night or if i am in a hurry. I maybe hesitate to use Expedia hotel booking in the future.

I stayed about three nights and the last night I remember I paid in the morning to stay one more night and someone the next day came to the room and just opened the door and didn't knock and told me you should have left yesterday you didn't pay, it was a terrible deal I must have consult first or review before acting that way

We'd booked a room with a queen and sigle bed with ensuite bathroom to be given a room with a double bed and an open shower in the room, no toilet, and were told they were fully booked so no rooms with a bathroom. The alternative was a room with two double beds and no shower or toilet. We were not offered any discount for not getting the room wed booked, despite asking, and told the reservations person had been off sick for 2 days. The hotel is very run down, but the sheets were clean.

Was very happy with the size of the room and the private bathroom, central location, great dining options. Hot water for shower can take a few minutes at times and parking was a little challenging also at times. Will book again next time we are in Orange.
