The place was clean, but it was a no-nonsense hotel. Small and average. Bed was comfortable. Only stayed overnight. They usually have a campfire, but it was raining. No pool (which they never advertised). Older place. Also, it is called a lodge, but it was more like an older motel. Lady was both housekeeper and checked us in. Very polite and friendly.

Last minute stop while on the road from Golden Co to Taos NM. Nice firepit, comfortable bed, bit overpriced for area and room. No ice machine or breakfast, 169.00 for one night. Lady who checked ua in very nice and helpful.

This was a really fun place for an overnight stay. We got here a bit late but Dawn was still out by the fire pit and welcomed us with open arms! Amenities were fine. Only downside was that outside lights by the room are left on all night. Since there is a a small diamond shaped privacy window in the front door it felt like we had a spotlight shining on us all night.

This is a classic motel from a by-gone era! However, the owners have modernized it enough that it is quite comfortable, cozy, and attractive. The bed was dreamy and the room quiet and conducive to a good night’s sleep. Everything was very clean. The owner could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. I would definitely recommend!

There was a steady stream of water, not just a drip from the bathtub tap. I tightened the handles and I think I stopped it. Bed was comfortable. TV worked. Nice towels. Cute property! I love the real wood paneling. Its like stepping back in the 50's but with all the comforts.The heater works well which is a must for this area in the winter. Staff is very nice and the place is super clean.

This place is a cute idea. The staff is great! They were very helpful & friendly. I loved the outdoor fire that was welcomed in the cool evening air. However, I personally feel this place needs a lot of work! The size of my room was small, for a single traveler, it was good though. The shower was terrible. Dimly lit, nowhere to put your stuff & the water was COLD! I ran the water for a good 15 minutes, waiting for it to get warm.. but by that point, I think all the warm water was gone. The window unit was a huge disappointment. The filter was absolutely disgusting, completely covered in dust! I took it out to clean it, but it just needed to be replaced altogether. When I turned it on, it blew right in my face. Nothing like your sinuses drying out while sleeping... The walls are PAPER THIN! I could hear my neighbor's conversations like I was sitting in the room with them. Would I stay here again? Not unless I knew the whole place had been redone. Good concept, just not executed correctly.

We had a great weekend in the Poncha Springs/Salida area. This hotel was clean and had a nice outdoor area to sit around a fire. The room was small but manageable for 2 people. The shower was dark (no lights in it) and the floor was slanted making it a little slippery in one direction. Good and activities were all close by!

Just booked a quick overnight trip for myself for a concert in Buena Vista. Such a cute and quaint spot to stay in Salida! Highly recommend, and the owner was very welcoming and friendly. The walls are very thin so if you are a light sleeper or don't want to possibly be heard yourself, just be mindful of how you are navigating the space with others around.

Neat little motel right at the intersection of highways 50 and 285. The room was very small, but clean, comfortable and with charm. Jim, the owner, came over and chatted with me while I was at my car, and they have nightly firepit gatherings for everyone to socialize if you so desire. Would stay again if I'm in the area.

This is property is on the hwy which is what I needed. The innkeeper was very friendly and accommodating. There is some construction going on near them and they appear to be working on improvements as well. Perfect for what I needed, not fancy but very clean, quiet( even with the hwy, and very comfortable.

Great little motel getting lots of updates. Super cute back area with a fire waiting when we got back from Salida. There is a bike trail to get to and from downtown Salida. Walk to the winery, bike/walk to Elevations Brewery. Cute coffee/breakfast next door. Amazing and friendly owners.

Glad we found this gem in our Colorado travels. If we had not stopped here, we would not have visited the beautiful Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Very close to Salida for restaurants and shopping.

Dawn and Jimmy are wonderful! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The lodge is only 20 minutes from Monarch and 10 minutes from Salida. There is a food truck next door that serves a delicious breakfast. This was a great base camp for our little ski trip.

Quaint & cute- and ready for your visit! The owners, Jimmy and Dawn have made their mark on this place and we will be returning! We were graciously welcomed at 10pm, shown around and then to our room. Wish we had more time to experience having a glass of wine in their courtyard with fire pit. Everyone we met- food truck owners/ burger shack/ locals were so friendly and welcoming. Get ready to be wowed by this motel!

We stayed one night at The Lodge at Poncha Springs. Dawn, one of the owners, greeted us - she could not have been more lovely. She was welcoming, told us about their plans for the property, and even invited us to hear a small concert some friends were performing next door, on their way back from performing at South X Southwest. It felt like coming to stay with a friend. Dawn also gave us some great reccos for hot springs nearby and restaurants, which we really appreciated. Location is fine - a bit away from any semblance of town but had a cafe, restaurant, and grocery store close. The room was very basic - clean but quite small, with very little room around the sides of the bed, and no fridge in the room. Sounds like they'll be making some improvements over time, but we very much appreciated how warm and welcoming Dawn was and wish them all the best - would stay again.
