Love the aesthetics, the vibes and where is located. Lacked maintenance and the pool was dirty and foggy during mid day. Customer service could’ve been a little better. Also all the seat cushions were very dirty. Better maintenance and cleanliness wouldve put it at 4-5 stars

I was very surprised with Sababa Resort. I wasn't expecting much, just a place for my daughter and I to lay our heads after a long day on the lake. The room was very spacious and clean, and the TV was on the wall. The grounds were nice, the pool and views were amazing. My only complaint would be the breakfast; there were no meat options.

Great stay at the establishment. Only nitpick was that I found it hard going to sleep since they had the speakers on to late night. Will come back again not in the rainy season and with more friends.

Great value with breakfast included, nice pool area with stunning lake views. Staff helped organise fantastic sunrise hike of indian nose (many more activities available)

This hotel is very beautiful. Small, boutique feel with a lovely pool. The staff are super friendly but often made mistakes such as asking me to pay my total room stay again, when I have already paid, and having to argue before they agree they made a mistake. The ground is also very dangerous around reception and the pool, with concrete slabs and nothing inbeteeen the huge gaps meaning it’s impossible to pull a suitcase and your foot often gets stuck and trips. The tiles around the pool are curved and very slippery. The bridges over the pool and to the hammock area is Los a very odd shape and very steep. Not great if you have any walking issues. I would stay again as I am fit and healthy but I don’t think it would suit anyone unfit or with a slightl walking disability.

The hotel is cute and probably the nicest one in San Pedro La Laguna but the rooms are very noisy, especially the ones by the pool. The restaurant plays the music starting at 7am until 10pm and it’s pretty loud. Also, the front of all rooms are just windows but the glass is very thin and the top layer is only a mesh so when people are talking outside of your room you can hear everything as if they were inside your room!

Great location and facilities. Room was nice although bed did not have a top sheet which was odd. Views across the lake were amazing, nice pool, water cold but good to cool down from the heat. Breakfast was lovely and food/bar great. Bit of noise from the town at night but hard to avoid. 5 mins walk from the boat jetty and bars/restaurants. Note if you want your room cleaned you have to leave your keys at reception between 8-10am, found that out on last day!

Bathroom was very moldy , smelled of wet mildew . The bathtub knobs fell off during my stay and they used duck tape to fix it . No Air conditioning. Everything guest shared ( lounge chairs , towels ) were stained and dirty . I wasn’t comfortable sitting or lying on anything . Because of the language barrier they tried to overcharge.

Staff was super nice. The headboard of the bed was black and was supposed to be white. Very dirty. Decorative pillows were also dirty.Shower goes on by itself in the middle of the night.

Our room had clean sheets and a tidy bathroom, though the bedding felt dated and we did see some cockroaches. The biggest downside was how loud the resort was—music until 11 p.m. and guests partying late made it hard to sleep, even with the earplugs provided. Overall, it feels more like a fun party spot with friends than a relaxing getaway.

Not as up to date as we expected or as the picture looked. Beds didn’t have a top sheet so you’re just sleeping with the thin comforter - some people may like that, but we prefer having a top sheet, especially at a hotel where the comforters aren’t always washed. Lastly, we found maggots in our toilet paper (so gross). All they did was give us a new roll, but didn’t offer anything to make up for it. No stay discount, free drink, nothing. Just sorry for the worms, here’s a new roll.

A cute place but definitely over priced. The shower clearly had previous water damage and it bubbled when you stood in it and leaked all over after showering. Beds are hard and there is no AC. The staff were extremely nice and helpful though. Breakfast and coffee every morning were very good.

The room was very clean, the views from the rooms are stunning. We got there and we had our driver that had to stay and the manager/owner was very kind and facilitated another room even though the receptionist had told us they were booked. I really loved this resort!

Sababa is the best of a bad bunch in San Pedro. I would avoid staying in San Pedro as there is nothing other than nightlife in the place (ok if that’s what you are looking). Sababa itself is nice at first sight, although it’s very limited for space and shade. The dining area also plays music at a level as if it was a concert, which is not relaxing or enjoyable. Room doesn’t have AC and the blanket and pillows are terribly uncomfortable. Sheets were partly stained on arrival. Bathroom was OK, very dated. Positives - breakfast buffet and food are top notch. The staff at the bar are friendly and helpful. Overall, if you have to stay in San Pedro, Sababa is a good option but it is expensive compared to other places we stayed that we’re just as nice. It’s overpriced for what it is..

There was a bar next to the hotel and it was extremely loud till about 2am and the top of the windows in the rooms have mesh so you can hear everything. I’m guessing that’s why there’s a big jar of earplugs in the front desk. In addition, there are ants everywhere and kept coming into our room. The staff is very friendly but it’s not a place if you’re looking to rest.

Our check-in experience was rather terrible. Expedia apparently messed up our reservation and one of the rooms we booked was unavailable - the hotel was also fully booked so this was a problem. While Guy, the manager of the property, was fabulous and truly did his best to make our group comfortable and enjoy our stay, the woman at the front desk was inadequate. Without Guy's direct supervision, she was either unable or unwilling to work with us regarding our stay. We had to pay a higher premium than what we booked AND we ended up having to put two grown women on a pullout couch in our bedroom as our original reserved room was not available the final night. The final issue we had was that the hostel next door was blaring music until 3AM or 4AM at times. It was VERY difficult to fall/stay asleep. Overall our stay was fine, just severely disappointed with the service specifically from the woman at the front desk.

Staff were amazing and kind. But hotel room need some updates. Toilet seat was broken, shower had little hot water and no water pressure and there were ants.

What I didn't like was the fact that I had to pay either in quetzales or in dollars. I had to use the money I had put aside to spend during my stay and took out not once but twice money out of the ATM. They claim the machine was down but I was able to pay for dinner and few drinks at the bar with my card. Also, the bathtub drainage was clogged. The place was nice and food, drinks were good. Would I stay again? No, I would pick somewhere else to stay.

The best part of this hotel is the lake-side location, but the actual facilities and amenities leave much to be desired. Be aware you are essentially staying in a pool-side cabana which has been converted into a "room" by adding a front-door and a shower. At night you can expect noise to be an issue, especially if you are in one of the rooms closest to the pool. This is because the walls are not completely solid (the part where the wall connects to ceiling is simply insect-screen). On the night we stayed, another hotel guest was talking on the phone at 1:00 A.M. pacing around by the pool immediately in front of us, and it felt like she was standing inside our room. Also, there are speakers playing EDM until the late evening and then start up again at 8:00 A.M. The payment process is tedious and inconvenient. Credit cards are not accepted to pay for your stay, so at check-in you need to be ready with all of the cash in hand. The irony is at check-out they also refused to accept a 100 quetzal note when I was paying for mini-fridge purchases (despite 100 Q being the standard note issued by ATMs). We are relieved we only stayed here for a single night, and we will look for a different place to stay in San Pedro next time.

Is a beautiful eco friendly hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The only issue is the communication the rooms doesn't have phones you have to use whatsapp and sometimes they don’t respond.

This resort was wonderful , everything is nearby, food was amazing , staff was so nice and checking in was easy and fast

The hotel partners with outside shuttle drivers, and we didn’t have the best experience with one of them. Outside of that everything was excellent. They really care about their guest and will do just about anything to ensure you have a great stay! The property is also very beautiful, clean and relaxing. And the food at the restaurant was delicious!!

Great location with a beautiful view! Staff was friendly and the incisive breakfast was very good. It even included latte. We stayed in a private room with king bed and it was comfortable and clean. Bathtub was a bit dated and water pressure was sometimes a problem. Resort is not fir anyone with mobility issues and there are many tripping hazards… landscaping is nice to look at but very difficult to navigate. Great spot in San Padro close to bars and restaurants ❤️

Beautiful, soft sheets and bed. Really nice staff. Pool is nice but more for lounging, not really swimming. Parties nearby at hostels so super loud. If it wasn't the top hotel in the area, I would probably stay elsewhere.

Absolutely stunning property, best views for a great price, very walkable and close to the public dock. We ate the breakfast buffet and it was amazing! Staff was awesome, we loved this property!

En las habitaciones en los baños les hace falta mejorar la tina alrededor como que solo parcharon con algún material la orilla de la tina q se veía feo para lo que vale me esperaba un baño mas presentable el buffet les falta mejorar pedí omelet re pasado de cocimiento ay un punto de cocción que tiene que mejorar y frijoles ácidos y ampliar la variedad del bufet y la bebida solo te incluye una ves la segunda te la cobran y para ser bufet no se tiene q cobrar por pedir mas bebida por eso se llama bufet el resto bien el personal amable el lugar bonito para fotos la piscina fría el agua mas q todo es un lugar solo para fotos q salen hermosas es todo me esperaba mas del lugar

We loved the food and the staff service.

Place is clean. They have problems with the water. We have to go to the front desk many times because there were no water in the bathroom. Breaksfast selection is very Poor and everyday the hotel offers same food.

I mean the property was ok the back was nice for views and photos! Easy access to boat transportation. Wasn’t feeling the breakfast didn’t have any meat none to even purchase and the food was cold. The tub felt like it was gonna cave in and low pressure in the shower.
