Tru by Hilton Longview

Stayed three nights. It is a trendy fun college dorm mindfulness experience. Games to play with family or visiting guest! So, fun and chic! Dorm furniture in hotel room to the pillows, mattress & bed style. Not as comfy. Bath & drying Towels a bit harsh, but hot shower water was divine. Water pressure for the commode flushing an issue due to lack of [water pressure] from the City of Long View; aspect of it. I did have some concerns during my stay. Gym room is smaller size but serves its purpose. Had to ask for gym towels, and hand sanitizer. Cleanliness is a key in hotel hygiene of wiping down daily especially in gym, hotel rooms and breakfast table areas. Breakfast is served daily. I was hoping for yogurt, or waffles but loved the oatmeal, and eggs with chicken sausage- upon a request. Along with the toast and bread choices, fruit, cereal, milk and juices. Staff were friendly and assertive. Breakfast food handlers very polite and professionals hardworking ladies setting up breakfast daily. If you’re looking for a University / College experience this is a great hotel in Long View, Texas. Smoking outside is not separated; as you sit outdoors meaning no designated smoking area. Upgrade in outdoor sitting area needed. I did have a few work maintenance request per my stay which housekeeping and maintenance both were attentive and professional. Great area in the heart of Long View with its many stores for shopping and dinning. Enjoyed my stay here overall for a great price!

Hotel was really nice and staff was friendly and attentive. But the pool was closed, pump problem they said. But thats ok...

Nice place good stay.need better marking for entrance hard to find missed and had to go around block again still had hard time finding entrance.Also need coffee in room

Very good hotel, great value. Difficult to find entrance in the dark, needs more lighting. Area is close to dining and stores.

Tru is known for being a simplified hotel, we like it feels new and clean. Down side the pool was closed we were told they were working on it, but not too big a deal because it was just an idea to waste some time. Overall this is our second time to stay at this tru and it’s been good both times.

Nice hotel, lots of activities in lobby area for kids. Entering into hotel from Walmart parking lot was a little confusing

Hotel is great. The access to the hotel was not thought out. The entrance is off main road and is 1/2 mile up from hotel if you miss it...you have to drive another minimum 5 mins through a shopping center to the back of the hotel.

The placement is awkward to get thru, either off Eastman or behind Walmart!

Comfortable bedding, the snack shop in the lobby came in very handy!

Room was very clean. Hotel was quiet and everyone was friendly. The only suggestion I have is putting a hotel entrance sign down by the highway so guests know where to turn in.

Bugs were all over the room. It was disgusting. They said it was a known issue. I asked the manager to call me for a refund. The manager never called. It was very disappointing.

Check-In was easy. Upon entering my room there was a terrible smell. The toilet had poop in it. When I pulled back the sheets it appeared to be blood on them. Thick dust on the walls and lamp. I would never stay here again.

The staff was amazing.We went into the hotel room and noticed the bathroom floor was sticky and the shower was dirty.She stopped what she was doing, and the staff had gone home for the day and she did it herself.She cleaned the bathroom.The rest of the place was clean and very well kept. The only thing I had a problem with the beds are really lumpy.

My Mom & I stayed two nights to come in for her Moms funeral service. We loved the free yummy breakfast in the mornings . It is super close to many places to eat as well. It is a bit confusing to get to . We used the Wal Mart parking lot to get to it. Upon arrival I will say the bathroom had a strong dog smell we never could get rid of but it is pet friendly so we knew why . Still enjoyed the stay

Upon entry to room, had to call housekeeping as 3 of the 4 surfaces had sticky food/residue. Housekeeper was very pleasant. Smallest mini fridge of any hotel I've stayed in that made it nearly pointless. Room was adjacent to housekeeping which woke us up every morning with noise of rattling things around and alarms going off in that service room. The alarm was a subtle beeping noise that would repeat. Reminded me of a microwave but nicer tune. Not sure what it was as one morning it kept repeating every couple minutes and lasted over an hour and another morning it only went off a few times. Another unknown knocking noise that occurred every morning that sounded like coming from our neighbors near our bathroom (similar to the sound of a door knocker or maybe somone flipping the metal security door stopper). There would be a tap every few seconds and would last a couple hours. Such thin floors you always knew when someone was walking around. Mattress was EXTRA FIRM. My husband likes a firm mattress and even his joints were aching. We are both mid thirties and woke up each morning hurting in our hips, shoulders, and back. Breakfast was good compared to many continental breakfasts. Less options, but the pancake maker was more sanitary than the typical waffle makers and they had breakfast eggrolls which I hadnt seen at a hotel before. Needless to say our weekend getaway to relax turned into sleepless nights and exhaustion. Won't book here again.

I had not stayed at a Tru hotel before, but was disappointed by a few things I thought were customary in a hotel room: no drinking cups/glasses, no stopper in bathroom sink, no coffee maker, no bar soap.

Pretty good hotels stay! Only problem was getting attitude from a evening front desk person asking for amenities for the room such as towels. Good breakfast! First floor rooms are a little small and cramped.

The rooms do not have a microwave or any kind of a coffee maker. It’s pretty inconvenient.

The property was very clean. Staff was friendly. My only complaint was that there were no closets or drawers

It’s located right next to an extremely busy highway and the noise is loud in the room.

Zero water pressure, zero isolation between walls or floors - you can hear every movement and sound of other guests.

The guy over the breakfast buffet was extremely polite and helpful with our wants. He is top notch employee.

Never anyone at the front desk, no quarters for laundry, was told to go to Walmart for change, no housekeeping service after specifically requesting at front desk. We had to wait after arriving super tired because no one cleaned our room or provided towels etc… manager unavailable at all times we asked to speak to one to voice our concerns. Much better options, we know for next time to stay at Marriott per usual!!

Friendly staff fast check in will definetly stay again

The front desk lady was not in a good mood when checking in. When I got to the room I realized there was no toilet paper. I phoned the front desk and the same lady said I could come get it at the front desk. Also, my room wasn’t very clean. There was hair in the sink like a man had shaved his short beard, a penny on the floor and the bed looked like someone laid on top after being made. There was only one large bath towel with several wash cloths and hand towels. Breakfast was good and the ladies working it were kind.

Night staff was nice, but overwhelmed anytime we were at the front desk. We were unable to get any help we needed from them when up front. We had to call down to the front desk and make a complaint due to excessive noise, kids yelling/ playing and running in the hall, slamming doors, etc late at night. The shower had no hot water and was miserable. We checked out early due to getting little sleep, and not being able to get ready without issues.

Always clean and comfy here. This time the front desk lady wasn't too friendly....not exactly rude but no hello, how are you just check in and nothing more. OK...well everyone has a bad day maybe the last people to check in was rude to her.

Centrally located and near shopping and restaurants.

The hotel was new, clean and the staff were kind. It was nicely located next to restaurants and shopping, but my room faced the main road and it did get noisy. Other than that I had a great visit and would stay again.

This is our favorite place to stay when we go to Longview. It's clean, safe, staff is friendly and accommodating. Close to shopping and so many restaurants. It's out go to place when we are in town.

This was a great location for my stay, so close to everything. The breakfast was good and I appreciated the water filling station and available coffee and tea. The room was nice, and I liked the bathroom/toiletries and all the hooks to hang my clothes and bags on. The only thing I would mention that needs improvement is the bed, which was kind of hard with pillows that had no shape. I also never could get the room temperature control to work on my app. For the price, it was a good value and I would stay here again (but might bring my own pillow).

There are better hotels in the area for the same price. No hot water, ac was not working properly, no water pressure. Everything for the breakfast was cold, non existent or stale. We have over 30 stays a year so I know what’s out there, stay elsewhere

There were no eggs, I had to ask for more took a bit to get some. Pancake machine must’ve not been refilled and by that time I didn’t wanna ask for that as well, so I did with what I had.

Once again, Tru came through as an excellent place to stay while traveling. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The hotel and room was clean. The snack and breakfast choices were awesome!

The beds were comfortable and the room had sufficient space. Breakfast was okay wish there were turkey or veggie meat options for those who don't eat pork. I would stay at this hotel again.
