The room was clean, although poorly laid out, and the bed was comfortable. Getting to the toilet was not easy because of the door into the bathroom. Also, the TV was old with a poor picture by today's standards. I had no Netflix or Prime apps and requires a laborious procedure to download such from my phone. There was a big scratch across one of foot stools. The alarm was of such vintage that we couldn't remember how to use it. The breakfast was very good but could have been better with some sort of meat -- sausage or bacon for example. If we were there for several days instead of an overnight stay this would have been a bigger issue. Here is my biggest complaint. We booked our room through hotels.com and were given a TOTAL cost including TAXES and FEES of $163.7 of which the hotel would collect $10 for mandatory fees. When we got to the hotel, we found out that it was a mandatory resort fee for the pool and other play areas. We are in our 80's and my husband was overnighting after surgery at the local UCI Hospital and for both reasons had no need or desire to use these resort amenities. But the fee was included in the price quoted to us. WHAT WAS NOT QUOTED TO US WAS THE $25 SELF PARKING FEE. My husband and I travel a lot and, outside of Vegas, have never been charged resort and self-parking fees. HENCE, WE WERE ANGRY TO HAVE THIS $25 fee foisted upon us. Lastly the staff. On checking in were we greeted with a smile and a welcome to our hotel. I'm afraid not.
