Oca Ribeira do Porto AT

Very nice and clean apartment style hotel right next to Ribeira. Walkable to all major Porto attractions. The breakfast offered at the affiliated hotel was quite nice, but a 8-10 minute walk from the apartment. Parking in the area is not very convenient. If driving, I recommend leaving the car at a garage and just walk in the city.

Unbeatable location on Rebiera square, literally steps away from the riverfront. Plenty of restaurants and shopping around. Apartment is spacious with a modern bathroom and well-equipped kitchen. Our particular apartment had minor maintenance issues such as an occasionally running toilet. Otherwise everything else was exceptional.

Location was excellent parking is terrible

The location and property were excellent. I had difficultly with the check in. There is a sign on the door that says check in is a different location. I walked around looking for it and asked several people who did not know. It would be helpful to draw an arrow on this sign in the door in the direction of the river. Once i was inside the building i saw a sign with an arrow but this was not visible on the outside of the glass.

The good: Beautiful accommodation, very comfortable, well maintained, great location for sight-seeing. You can walk everywhere from here. The accommodation was as advertised. The not-so-good: We had a very difficult time getting to the hotel. Note: You cannot drive to the property, no matter what Google says is possible. The instructions at the door send you to another hotel way up on the hill to check in, but this information is out of date (in the past couple of weeks, the check-in desk was moved to a property next door to where you stay). Given the ongoing construction and traffic in the area, we lost almost 2 hours trying to sort all of this out. If arriving by car, you need to park at a nearby parking lot (the outdoor municipal one is much cheaper than the closer, underground one). It would have been far more helpful to receive a note from the hotel in advance with this information.

This is not a hotel but an apartment without parking

We loved our stay at this property. The room was very spacious, clean with all the amenities and a small kitchenette. Safe and Very walkable to all the attractions, steps away from the Duoro river

Excellent full sized apartment with living area, full kitchen, dining table, and a large bedroom with a king size bed. Spacious bathroom with a good sized shower. Right in the heart of old town Porto just a very short walk to the Douro River.

Fantastic location and room! Just that parking is not near by if you are driving so one has to unload about 100 meters away and walk here. Taxis can come up to front of the hotel but not private cars . Otherwise you can’t beat the location for the convenience!

This hotel was a great little gem, located just steps away from the river and the lively waterfront scene there. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance as are many of the local attractions. It is also located in the old, historic part of Porto that is an attraction unto itself if you enjoy history and architecture. The beach in either Porto or on the Gaia side of the river is only about 5 kilometers away (3 miles) and are easily reached by bicycle, Uber, or taxi. The hotel is two separate buildings. The main building, closest to the river has the reception and breakfast room. The second building which is just a few doors up the street has apartments/rooms only. I was in the second building and my room was large, comfortable, clean, and quiet once the scene along the Ribeira shut down around 11 p.m. My room was also recently renovated with all hard surface flooring, a big comfortable bed, and a nice table/chairs set and a sofa. The room also had a small kitchenette which was all modern and new but I didn’t use it. The bathroom was also clean and new, but like many European hotel bathrooms it was not designed as well as it could have been. Space between the toilet and the glass shower was an issue and it didn’t need to be that way. All in all I was very satisfied with this hotel and my stay and it was a great bargain too!

Room was clean and had all the required amenities. Check in experience was pleasant and location is amazing on the river.

Amazing stay. Only note was that the floor had not been cleaned. Hair 👀 like they had cleaned a brush and throws it everywhere. Situation was fixed immediately-still this stay was amazing.

A couple issues...the shower door dudnt close properly so each time we showered there was a huge water mess on the bathroom floor. Also t.p. was stingy. 1 roll everyother day for 2 women...not enough. They only clean once every 3 days. 1 time during our 5day srat. When they did clean, they did a poor job.

Great location. Next to waterfront It smelled like mildew or mold due to not having a fan in restroom. Design is nice. No check in so kind of inconvenient because you have to walk down to the other hotel to check in & get toiletries towels or anything you need. Fortunately it’s on 1-2 min walk. Noisy with the garbage collection and all the street noise

Clean modern room in a fantastic location

The room was big for our family of 3, we appreciated the extra space. Everything was tidy and clean, and we liked having the sink/mini-kitchen area. The area surrounding is bustling and very near to many restaurant options and a short walk across to Gaia. Although busy, from our room we were not bothered by any noise. The cleanliness around the shower could be better though (old mildew).

Room was spacious, kitchenette handy and location excellent. But we were 3 teens and a parent for 3 nights and had no housekeeping. No bins emptied, no fresh towels, no toilet paper etc. There was a sign informing that housekeeping only happens after 3 nights (we only stayed 3 nights) and you can request it but it will cost you €25. We had to leave the building and walk down the road to the reception to ask for supplies. Unfortunately I can’t recommend based on this issue but if the hotel changes this policy I would stay again.

Spacious and quiet

The apartment is very dark, feels like a cave. There are 2 small windows but they look out on a narrow dark street. Also, we were unable to find pods for the coffee machine at the nearby grocery, and had to ask reception for more pods multiple times. Each time had to wait for housekeeping to bring them (in one case next day) and each time they brought only decaf pods. There were dishes and utensils for 4 people but only 3 forks. Small inconveniences that add up to a less than comfortable stay.

The property was in a good location and well appointed. Downside, cold showers so would never recommend

If AC is important to you, do not book this hotel. The two AC units in our room did not work. I ask the front desk to fix them for us and they told us the AC was broken. The rooms are hot at night.

excellent location , only drawback is uber or private cars canont stop go or stop in front of the property. you would have to walk a bit. my only complaint was that air con was not working and staff were blunt that they cant do anything about it. if you open the windows the exhaust from kitchen would entre the room. make sure they give you a room that has everything working.

Incredible location- walkable to countless fantastic restaurants. The room was clean, comfortable, with a beautiful view, and offered a separate space for privacy for parents. Overall we were very happy. I expected that the street below would get very loud at night, given the location, but the windows were incredibly sound proofing!

The room was so loud at all hours. I was woken up everyday at 4am by trucks. I was in a room that faced the streets and it was terrible.

Location is key for this place! It’s in the heart of the Ribeira area and walkable to most places. Traveled with a toddler, and the room was surprisingly quiet despite being in such a happening area. The bed isn’t the most comfortable but fine, and the shower door tends to leak water everywhere. Note the 10 am checkout because that was too early for us, but they will allow you to store luggage in the hotel building down the street. Overall I would recommend this place and would go back!

Excellent location, spacious apartment, super comfortable, and surprisingly very quiet. The apartment was much bigger and nicer than we expected. Even though we were in the a bustling area, close to tons of shops, restaurants, and the charming riverfront, the apartment was totally quiet. The breakfast is decent - we only signed up for one morning and then made use of our kitchen the next two mornings. We loved our stay here and would book again.

Felt like home after staying for a month. Suite had a functional kitchen, bathroom, dining area, bed, and storage. Room refreshed every third day with quality linens, towels and kitchen supplies, including coffee/tea. Beautiful view onto street and river that captured the essence of Porto. Windows and shutters were excellent for quiet and dark time. Concierge service amazingly helpful and kind. Location was key; in the centre of old Porto with quick and easy access to absolutely everything, historic must sees, restaurants and bakeries, transport and most of all, the beauty of the riverfront of Porto and Gaia.

Room and location were amazing. Marta at the front desk went out of her way to make our 5 day stay extraordinary. She guided us to a great Fado show, restaurants and Porto wine tasting. Have already recommended to friends,

Largely great stay though found others’ boxers in the wardrobe! Large stylish room though bathroom glass windows mean you can’t put the light on at night as this potentially might wake up the other person. We didn’t use the apartment catering option but it’s extra good value with this if used. Location is excellent being so central and close to a ferry crossing to the other side though the walk isn’t too long. Staff helpful and booked a cab for the airport transfer from the property. My main issue with the hotel is that there is no front desk and as previous reviews have clearly stated, this can be an issue. I hadn’t wanted to book based on this but we went with the majority vote for 3 couples. It’s all fine if you want to check in 3 to 630 when someone is present and leave at check out with your gear ( good time at 12) but if you are reliant on leaving stuff the system is flawed. We arrived to an open front door, went to the first floor for luggage storage - the door was actually open albeit with nothing in baggage wise. We then wasted almost 60 minutes just hanging around that door waiting for staff. You ring a number via a computer in the tiny ‘reception’ corridor to connect to the sister hotel. We were told to wait for staff to come so the baggage could be locked away. My husband rang three times and they said they couldn’t find any staff. Our friends took their bags to the sister hotel instead. It was a farce that would put me off staying again tbh.

The receptionists (yes, all of them) for this property were NASTY, IRRESPONSIBLE, and TERRIBLE. I lost an important item on the day I checked out. I called the front desk later to ask if someone could go and check my room. It was such an easy task but I almost had to beg the lady to do it & she told me she’ll call me back. I was felt so grateful at the time. 3 hours later and nothing. I call again and a male receptionist picks up, he says he’ll do it 8 hours later. Half hours after the promised call, nothing. I called back and the third person told me the clean lady will work in one hour, they will inform them if there is anything. I had to call and wrangle an answer out of their mouth (they kept trying to postpone checking for some odd reason) and turns out apparently NONE of them personally went and checked even though they told me they would. The whole situation sucked.

Beautiful apartments and perfect location. Bed was very comfortable , modern appliances . Could probably improve check in experience a little though ( as in being able to drop bags at hotel if early etc and having someone on site )

The staff was extremely helpful, they took care of any requests we had immediately. We absolutely loved the size of the room and the kitchen was so helpful in preparing little meals. The location was awesome, right in the middle of all the hot spots and tourists attractions. Definitely recommend staying here.

We loved our room, but this hotel has not perfected its technology. They are trying to run a hotel without having any front desk staff. Unfortunately, their remote system crashed just before our arrival, and we could not check in until several hours later. Also, if you call them or press the get help button at the front door, you migh have to try 10x or more times before you get through to a remote support person. Apparently, they only have 1 receptionist covering multiple hotels. If this person is tied up, nobody answers. It was an EXTREMELY frustrating experience. Once we were checked in, we loved the hotel.

The hotel is in an excellent location, right in the heart of Ribeira—just a minute’s walk from the Douro River and Ponte Luís I Bridge, and only a few minutes from major attractions such as Porto Cathedral, the historic old town, the Porto Cable Car, the famous São Bento train station, and many more. It’s also close to plenty of eateries, including some popular spots offering authentic Portuguese cuisine. Our room was spotless—clean, neat, and tidy—with a reasonable amount of space and a small kitchenette (which we barely used during our stay). If you enjoy basic cooking, I would recommend choosing a studio-type room. Since we were on holiday, we preferred eating out. Room cleaning is provided every three days, so during our 10-day stay, the room was cleaned twice. The staff, especially the reception team, were very welcoming and friendly. They were always happy to help if we needed anything—extra coffee capsules, tea, toilet paper, bottled water, or anything else. Overall, we had a great experience and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Oca Hotel.

Perfect location

Great location for seeing sights Nice clean modern room. 24 hour staff only doors away Only problem was difficulty in getting Ubers because of traffic in area and no access to side street the apartment door was on. Had to walk a block or so for pickup

The property is located in the excellent area. This hotel is steps away from very touristy Ribeira. It was lots of very good dinning options nearby. The room is spacious and very quiet.

Excellent property! The Continental breakfast in the morning was pretty good as well. The apartment was very clean and spacious. Great location, and very walkable to many restaurants, shops, and a small grocer just a couple doors down. We definitely recommend and stay there again.

Great location. We did have a problem, our room was not ready by 3PM when we finally got it at 3:30 it was still dirty. They sent a maid and it was ready in 30 minutes. To compensate for this inconvenience they gave us a complimentary breakfast which was outstanding.

Nice apartment just off the river. Housekeeping, however, was only every 3 days. Breakfast was good. Service was excellent.

Our stay was outstanding. In addition to a perfect location the hotel was modern with much character, extremely clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Plus the breakfast was very good.

It was a little confusing to find the apartment and I feared that it would be really loud because it was in the heart of everything ~ once inside, it was gorgeous, well appointed, and the location was ideal with a phenomenal view of the river and bridges. The breakfast was great and the woman at the front desk was very helpful
