Kimpton - Pittman Hotel by IHG

Pros: we booked here because it's a dog friendly hotel. They offer dog beds and bowls. Even though it's downtown, I felt really safe walking the dog. cute modern decor in room and lobby. Dogs in the hotel were all well behaved. No barking. no lunging. All dogs on leashes. No dog smell. Really fresh hotel smell. Quick check in. Friendly and attentive staff. good free coffee in the morning. Lots of available options up add to the coffee. Nice pool. Has a wheelchair lift. Cute outdoor fire pit. My husband loves this hotel. He thinks it's really well done. Any time we travel with our dog, we'll stay at a Kimpton. My husband is going to join IHG rewards. Cons: $50 for overnight parking at valet. There is a parking garage nearby; and it's $25, but you pay $7 each time you go in/out.

Would have goven it a 5 star but be prepared to pay 50.00 to park overnight. That van add up quickly if staying multiple nights.

Love staying here when I’m in town for work. The staff is wonderful (although a male manager at the front desk is kinda surly). Kenny (breakfast server) and Ivan (bartender) are both wonderful (the food and drink are amazing). The hotel offers so many little perks and make you feel so welcome…lavender satchels, wine/happy hour, morning coffee in the lobby (my first stay in may they offered a delicious blended energy fruit drink). The rooms are so comfortable too Oh also the pool is an engineering marvel. The floor raises when they close it. It’s fun to watch them open it at 7…takes about 10 minutes to watch a perfectly flat patio transform into a lovely pool.

Great small, modern boutique hotel, nice pool area, great restaurant and peloton in the gym.

All of the staff was friendly and welcoming-from the valet experience to the front desk, the restaurant, etc. The hotel was very modern and the overhead music was fun. The restaurant was very good and we had great service there. The location is close to Deep Ellum and you can easily walk to shopping (Patagonia) and there are many restaurants serving diverse cuisine. The hotel is across the street from the newly opened Komodo (Japanese). The only negative was the $50 parking fee.

We loved this hotel and would absolutely stay again. From the moment we drove up, we had excellent service. The valet was friendly and professional, as well as the staff when checking in. We received a complimentary welcome drink which was unexpected and fun too. The vibe and atmosphere was chic and on point. The property was very clean which I appreciated, including the pool and pool bathroom. The room was pristine and they had some yummy options inside for purchase as well as a loaded fridge for purchase. The room was beautiful. We chose a room with a bathtub and loved that they included bath salts to soak in. It is a very noisy area of course and it was great they included ear plugs. I also loved how so much was walkable. The bed and pillows were very comfortable too. The bed was firm with some light cushion and plenty of fluffy soft pillows. Due to the location, there is a lot of noise outside, so be aware if this if you’re looking for a quiet pool. We only spent about an hour or so at the pool and ordered a burger with truffle fries and it was AMAZING! I don’t like sweet pickles but wow they were perfect on that burger. Thank you all for an amazing stay!

Comfortable stay and nice restaurant. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I was here for business so didn’t get to explore the area so much but looked like a downtown city vibe. I didn’t get to use the pool but looked decent - didn’t like that it wasn’t on a terrace though. That’s my only feedback otherwise def a good choice and solid price.

Great hotel, very comfortable rooms and clean. The pool wasn't open because it is winter. Would have liked more meeting areas for business travelers, but those are minor concerns. It is a wonderful hotel that I highly recommend.

Staff of the hotel are very nice and mostly helpful (we were charged twice and they said they fixed it but still waiting on the refund), however the restaurant staff are horrible. You can’t understand them, they run around but get nothing done, and you have to wait as they slowly bring one item at a time. As for the hotel, it’s not very clean; our side tables had tons of sticky water marks from glasses, it clearly hadn’t been cleaned at all. The bathroom had hairs stuck to the walls, and the cleaning lady never came twice in a town. We had to call and request it although they are supposed to come daily.When she did come she Was there for such a short time, I’m not really sure she did more than make the bed. The area of Deep Ellum is sketchy as hell. We saw multiple drugged out people fighting with cops and our 1 year old almost got run over by a person blowing a red light. I wouldn’t recommend going out after dark, and even during the day you have to dodge homeless drug addicts begging for money. I’ve unfortunately had to stay here three times now since my company pays for it, but I can’t in good conscience recommend this place at all.

Stayed at this hotel for a getaway weekend and had an amazing stay in a beautiful and very clean hotel in a convenient location in Dallas. Customer service was top notch and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. I’ll definitely be staying there again!

This hotel is absolutly gorgeous. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was pristine and had a great view. It was too cold for us to want to use the pool but we hope to return in summer so that we can swim! Loved the bar, very friendly service there as well.

A sad experience. The hotel has fancy design and tries a modern, stylish ambiente. Didn't work for me. It was dirty, the nightstand, btw the only chance to stow stuff in drawers, was sticky, the room was only made upon complaint, and then not very well. Crumbs on the floor remained on the floor. Dust everywhere. I used the staircase, it was full of clutter and very dirty. Hair dryer upon request, lotion nowwhere to be seen, neither soap at the sink. Pool opens at 10, there went my morning swim. Water or beer upon check-in was announced, never delivered. Shower almost dysfunctional, if you do not like your bathroom turn into a pond. The staff, notably Naomi, was very helpful, after several complaints I received a voucher, used it in the restaurant. Food was ok. But the overall impression: pretentious and rather dirty location. Location at entrance of Deep Ellum is great. Would be nice to have a decent hotel there.

Loud music playing in neighborhood during the night. Train rail right next to the hotel also loud. Unsafe walking to restaurants nearby. Hotel room was average. No fridge, no microwave, no safebox, no daily housekeeping services, shower had no door so needed to use all towels to clean wet floor. But staff was very friendly and professional.

Location by deep ellum, great restaurants, easy to get in and out using valet. Rooms with tall ceilings and great bar.

Went to Deep Ellum with friends to visit for a weekend. The hotel was located next to Deep Ellum making it an easy walk. Staff was friendly and overall the hotel was nice. My complaints were that the “heated” pool was not warm. Too cold to swim in and it was one of the factors to us choosing the hotel. The rooms were fine but the thermostat next to the bed had a horribly bright light that shined all light. We tried putting a shirt over it but it still showed through that. The curtains also didn’t reach the floor so if was pretty bright. Also, being near Deep Ellum it is expected to be louder due to clubs, but the train that comes through is super loud. I didn’t feel it was worth the price

No one should be placed on the 2nd floor facing the lightrail/street side. You hear every car, engine, honk, music that goes by throughout the night. We were not able to sleep.

Highly Recommend - Our Go-To Hotel in Dallas This has officially become our number one place to stay in Dallas. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional - from the friendly valet team to room service, the restaurant staff, and the front desk. The room was spotless and well-appointed, with high ceilings that made it feel extra spacious and a bed that was incredibly comfortable. We loved everything about our stay and can't wait to come back.

We definitely enjoyed our stay here and the deep soaking bathtub. We had a great view of the city and enjoy being close to a lot of good food options. Definitely will be staying again!

It was extremely loud at night. The traffic, the train and a bar with a band or dj. Ice on every other floor.

Room doesn’t have computer desk and table

It was an ok place but I expected a little better considering how new it is and the price. My issue is that I booked this hotel two months in advance and the day before I was to arrive, I received a phone call and email from Expedia saying the hotel had to cancel my reservation. I called first, IHG and they confirmed the reservation was good and there was no issue. They also called the hotel property and was told there was no issue with the reservation but that I should also call the hotel and speak with the manager just to be sure. I called but the person who answered would not put on the manager and said he was a supervisor and he could see the reservation was confirmed and there was no issue. I then called Expedia to get an explanation and they said likely my reservation showed up on a list to be canceled due to overbooking by the hotel. I was sent to a specialist within Expedia who also called the hotel and confirmed there was no problem with the reservation and we were good to go. Of course, when I arrived at the hotel and tried to check in, the desk clerk said my reservation had been canceled and was unwilling to help. I asked for a manager and someone came out and I explained the history and they did in the end make something work but not without a confrontation. This also was supposed to be a VIP property and I was supposed to get drink vouchers and a room upgrade but received nothing. When I asked, I got a blank look and no help. Hotel is not managed well.

Hotel and room were very nice and clean. 5 stars for the room, location and cleanliness. Where the hotel falls short is the training of the staff. They were very nice but portly trained. Check in resulted in a duplicate rewards account being created and no drink coupons that were supposed to be included. Not sure where the disconnect was but the staff were not interested in trying to resolve the discrepancy. Next interaction was breakfast. Cold coffee, no refills, had to ask for more cream, on and on. Staff very nice when we asked, but had no idea how service should work. 2 stars since they were nice when asked, but I would expect better service at a Kimpton. Checkout was another disappointment. Desk person took keys and dismissed us. I had to ask for a folio and clear up a charge—breakfast was not included as it was supposed to be. We pre purchased that as an add on. I had to correct that. I feel certain if I had not asked, there would have been a charge I would have had to deal with later. Overall, nice facility, staff just needs training.

Location is ideal for walking to tons of bars/restaurants. The service was impeccable form the front desk, valet attendants, to the food service staff! Highly recommend and will be returning!

Great property and typical of most kimptons. Seemed a bit understaffed as they never serviced our room even though we asked. Staff also didn’t answer the phones. We were charged for parking (we didn’t even have a car), so needed to ask them to remove the charge. Area is a little loud/party area, so if you’re looking for a quiet relaxing place, I would stay elsewhere.

They charged me for things I prepaid for. It feels fraudulent. Everything in the room has a pricetag to use. I paid a lot for this hotel, I didn't need to feel like I was also getting nickle and dimed for anything including things I prepaid for. I was also assured by the staff prior to my breakfast that it was covered by my room, then they charged my credit card anyways.

This was totally one of the best hotel experiences I have had. From the moment we arrived the valet was attentive and kind and upon entry I was warmly greeted by all the staff and they clearly worked in tandem so well getting guests checked in. Patrick at the front desk was amazing. The complimentary beer and water was a nice surprise as we were checking in. He was so thoroughly in explaining where my room was, the best way to get there and how to use the room key to control the power in the room. 10 minutes after settling in, Patrick was texting me to make sure there wasn’t anything else we needed and if there were any issues with the room. We had a drink in the bar and the staff there was so friendly and attentive. Then we enjoyed the complimentary wine hour with hors d'oeuvres while listening to vinyl. The location was perfect walking distance to dinner and nightlife and upon arriving super late after celebrating NYE the front desk staff were welcoming and kind again offering waters and checking to see if we needed an extra hour or so for checkout the next day. This is now my go to Dallas hotel and I’ve already recommended it to several friends.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Deep Ellum. Very busy area on a Saturday night and a bit noisy, but from inside our room we barely knew about the hustle and bustle on the street. Nice and quiet. Valet and hotel staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

There is a club right next to the hotel. The music and cars outside kept us up all night. People being loud, cars blowing horns. We also didn’t feel safe walking around the area. The whole weekend, every night was sirens from cops or ambulances. Would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel has the best location! Across the street from the Deep Ellum, where all the best food places are in a 1 mile radius. Whatever your flavor is, you will find it in the Deep Ellum. This is the only hotel I stay at when I am in Dallas.

Beautiful hotel close to fairgrounds and amphitheater. Front desk was super helpful and welcoming. Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious but restaurant staff confused about it being included. Everyone was professional and friendly

This Kimpton is listed as a 4.5 star hotel & that is very incorrect. It is a 3 star at best. It is in what seems like an unsafe area that is crawling with unsavory characters at night & very loud street life on the weekends. Pretty sure there was a parade of motorcycles each night for hours on end. Well actually there was. I finally got up at 2 am to look out of the window & loud motorcycles were everywhere revving their engines relentlessly. The cleanliness is average I guess. There was a smell so it felt a little dirty. There is no in-room dining for breakfast or lunch. I ordered dinner the 1st night & they brought me someone else's food order & when I did get my food, it was not good. I ordered uber eats the next morning for breakfast & I never received it but 4 hours later the front desk called me to tell me that they had my order there the whole time & asked me if I still wanted it... I replied "yes" & ate a cold breakfast for lunch. The 2nd night of my business trip I ordered in- room dining so I could continue to work & the food was bad so I just went to bed hungry... I've stayed at Kimpton's before & had wonderful experiences but Kimpton Pittman Hotel is one that I will never return to. It really felt like a waste of money.

Went with a friend for a staycation. Check in was so easy and the front desk employees were super friendly. The hotel itself was beautiful. The room was a good size and the bed was SO comfy! The bar was cozy, happy hour prices were good and the food was delicious. And as always, pets stay free.

The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay great. Great area of town with lots to do and eat. will stay again. The in house restaurant has a great breakfast.
