NAU Salema Beach Village

Our group enjoyed the beautiful views, the ample space of the unit, the friendly staff, the complimentary rides (up the hill 😉), and access to the beach and pool. Overall, it was a great place to spend our holiday!

Fantastic place, pool was cold in April!

Our stay in Salem’s Beach Village was just perfect! The place is immaculately kept and the staff and service were perfect. The pool area was great fun with a small pool bar / cafe with a good choice of light bites etc… Only issue was the “outdoor gym” - not really a gym at all but then again this didn’t deter my view as it is an absolute gem of a place! We will be back I’m sure! Special shout out to Miguel and the Pool Bar staff - their energy and good service really enhanced our stay.

Loved the spacious property with several outside areas to hang out. Had rides available into and back from town. Good pool with bar/food.

The layout of the villa could be differently. Pool could be heated, as the water was extremely cold.

This property was wonderful. The staff were amazing and very helpful. The property itself is beautiful with a great pool area and close to the beach and town. The property has convenient parking included and a shuttle service that will take you and pick you up down the steep hill in town.

Large condo in complex with pool and sports facilities.

We had an amazing stay in a 2-bedroom sea view villa. The view was spectacular. Our villa was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There were two large terraces from which we enjoyed the view. Very short walk into town. We took advantage of the free shuttle to the pool area. The pool was lovely, with plenty of lounge chairs and it was never too crowded. The staff were friendly and very polite. We would love to stay here again.

Beaytiful apartments with everything we needed. Love the pool. It was a bit cold. The shuttle to the town was so quick, easy and convenient. The man driving it was so nice. Reception open 24hr and complimentary beach towels 👍👍

This resort is a beautiful hidden gem in Salema. Everything was perfect. The people are so friendly. Our room was cleaned everyday and we were shuttled everywhere with a quick call to the main reception, free of charge. It was quite the service. The ocean was beautiful. I can’t wait to go back with the family.

We had a pleasant stay, but for the amount of money I paid for a sea-facing unit, I expected higher quality. The unit wasn’t up to hotel cleanliness standards. There was food in the kitchen drain when we arrived, and hair on the floor, and the glass veranda railing was filthy. The bathroom counter had toothpaste stains. The furniture felt shabby. My son’s single bed had a vinyl headboard that shedded into his sheets. The nightstands were chipped and the bedside rug visibly stained. None of this would bother me if I hadn’t opted to pay top dollar for a more “luxurious” stay. The location is superb, with a stunning view. Staff were friendly and responsive. But we wouldn’t go back.

It was our second time staying here. This time we decided to bring the whole family including 2 grandchildren under 5 yrs old. as before, the villa was very clean, comfortable and well equipped with high chair, cot and stairgate. Staff are excellent, especially David. They even did cleaning and changing sheets on Xmas Day! The location is amazing with beach nearby.

We enjoyed the tranquil and beautifully decorated condo. The two bedroom two story condo was very spacious, clean, and the balcony views were spectacular. Our condo had two balconies and rooftop access. The kitchen is spacious and well supplied for cooking or you can go out to dinner. Lots of great restaurants to choose from within walking distance. The king size bed was very comfortable. Also, within walking distance you can enjoy beautiful beaches. Staff provided excellent service, they were professional, friendly, and attentive. We highly recommend NAU Salema Beach Village, especially if you have a family.

Amazing place but we would have planned accordingly if we knew there was no housekeeping under 3 nights (nothing can be flushed so gets pretty gross), no room service, no pool bar. Nasty mold smell in bathroom. A summer stay would be great. Walkable beach is beautiful & there’s a great sushi restaurant.

The two bedroom condo we had was beautiful, clean and spacious. We visited Salema Beach in early October and so it was perfect for relaxing and resting from ten days of visiting sights in Spain. We had a beautiful ocean view and especially enjoyed the view from our rooftop balcony. And the price was a good value.

I really liked the peacefulness and quiet of this resort. There were a few restaurants and only one mercado was open, but we had a car, so we could get our supplies in Budens or Vila de Bispo, which were close by. There is an Indian Restaurant called the Spice Cottage that was probably the best Indian food we’ve ever had. The condo was better than we expected. We had an ocean view, which I would highly recommend. You could hear the waves and watch the sun rise into the morning. Our condo was cleaned every third day. One day we had chicken thawing in the sink and the maid took it upon herself to put it in a glass dish and threw out the plastic container. We thought it was very kind of her and thoughtful. All in all if you’re looking for a great place for some relaxation and recreation, this is the place. Hiking, biking or just lazing on the beach this is the place. Recommend if you have a car if you want to do day trips and explore Portugal’s beautiful Algarve.

Great condos. Our had a great view, was clean and functional. It had great Wifi too all around the unit. Kitchen was decently stocked, but there were just cutlery, pots, pan and dishes (wish there were more dishes so you didn't have wash them each time). It come with some dishwasher soap, but no washing machine one. Also no salt, pepper, oil.... so if you are planning to cook a lot from scratch you'd have to buy everything. there is a little market down the street, and real grocery stores a few miles away. you can easily walk to town (it's downhill, then uphill) and dine out or take out

We loved our sea view villa. Close to town. Beautiful view. Clean. Huge! Cons: needs directions how to work things such as dishwasher, fireplace, temperature controls and washing machine. Lots of stais to haul your suitcase up to the villa. It was off season so reception staff not readily available to answer questions.

We stayed in a spacious apartment in the charming village of Salema, with two bedrooms and a breathtaking beach view from both the terrace and living room. The village is quaint, quiet during the winter, and has a stunning nearby beach. The locals were very friendly, and some restaurants were truly excellent. However, there were a few drawbacks. The hot water in the shower ran out quickly, and the walls between apartments were so thin we could hear our neighbors talking and snoring. Additionally, the reception was unavailable during our stay before New Year’s Eve, leaving only an emergency number that unfortunately went unanswered during a critical situation. This forced us to organize a hospital trip ourselves, which caused unnecessary delays, though thankfully the hospital staff were able to help. While we enjoyed the overall experience, ensuring the emergency service is more reliable would greatly improve the stay.

This was an incredible property with a fantastic view of ocean and town. Very high end feel and clean. Check in was super easy and they transported my luggage to my place and picked it up. Fantastic bathrooms. Loved this place!

Great view of the ocean. Walking distance to the beach, though the hill can be challenge. Spacious apartments, compared to similar complexes nearby.

The apartment space, amenities and views are exceptional

The location is lovely - very quiet and peaceful in early April. The accommodation was in very good condition and comfortable. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. We arrived well before check in time and although the house wasn't ready yet, we were told we could use the facilities (pool, etc.) The accommodation we had (sea view) happened to be right at the bottom of the complex nearest the village, which was perfect for us as we mainly wanted to go to the restaurants, etc. and beach, but would have been more difficult if we'd been wanting to use the pool - too cold at this time of year for most of us! They did offer a shuttle up the hill whenever we wanted, though we didn't need to use this. Only slightly frustrating issue was after we'd left. As we checked out, I told the man on reception that I'd accidentally broken a wine glass while washing up. He said that as it was an accident, they wouldn't charge us. I think a single broken wine glass can be considered fair wear and tear anyway but I was fully prepared to have to pay for it, so I appreciated this gesture. What I didn't appreciate was then receiving a phone call while in the airport saying that housekeeping had 'discovered' that I'd broken a wine glass and that they would need me to authorise a €7.50 charge. A bit of a sour note to end the holiday on, sadly. I still would recommend this accommodation and we would stay again - just be very careful with the wine glasses on the stone worktops!

Extremely disappointing experience. They mistakenly charged my credit card $670 twice, totaling $1,340, despite the fact that our stay had already been paid in full using a different debit card. The card they charged was only meant to be held for incidental charges—specifically for water, which wasn’t even complimentary and should have cost no more than $10. To make matters worse, we’ve yet to receive a refund, and customer service was incredibly unhelpful, with no one available who could clearly communicate in English. I would not recommend this place based on how poorly the issue was handled. There was said to be no managers available in the office to talk. This put a burden on the rest of our trip.

Staff was super helpful. Had a flight tire and was unable to contact roadside service. Staff were so determined to help me they ended up using their own phone!

We were so pleasantly surprised how nice our accommodations were and the location was wonderful! The front desk was extremely nice and helpful! Only once did they miscalculate on dinner reservations. We were advised we didn't need them, but I would recommend always request they be made! I would highly recommend NAU Salema Beach Village! You won't be disappointed😉

The NAU Selema facility was great. The staff were friendly. We stayed in a two-bedroom sea view townhouse with comfortable rooms and a well-equipped kitchen for cooking. It’s just a 5-minute downhill walk to the beach, and they offer a free convenient shuttle service for drop-off and pick-up. The Selema town is small and charming, with plenty of restaurants around the beach—just be sure to make reservations during peak season. Lagos is only a 20-minute drive away. I would stay here again!

Quiet fishing village away from crows. The views from the villa are amazing!

Be forewarned, the property is up a VERY steep hill from the town of Salema!!

What I liked was location walking distance to beach and a few restaurants. What I didn’t like is I would like some dining or breakfast accommodations at the resort in the event it’s raining and you don’t want to walk down to the other dining options. Small market nearby as well.

It’s a vacation from your vacation. Very nice facilities that you can walk everywhere including the hiking.

This property is located high above the Salema beach, a quite small town with character that caters to people that want to relax from a busy tourist area. Short drive away from Lagos, if you need action and short drive from Sagres, 15th century believed to be the end of the world. Property is big with everything you need to enjoy a vacation. Great 3 days of exploring Portuguese south coast!

Great location, loved the town of Salema, all walkable from the unit. They were painting some of the buildings while we were there, so the rooftop patio was lovely, but had a bit of a paint smell when the wind blew the right direction. They did not provide coffee, dish soap, etc.. consumables would have been nice to know about prior and then the staff wanted to charge you to buy coffee, etc.. but if known ahead would not have been a big deal. There is a grocery about 5 mins away and Atlantico down on the beach has great espresso's and latte's for your morning coffee walk.

The property itself is great. Plenty of room for a family and kept clean and nice. The problem is management- check in not until 6pm?? And then the pools close at 7pm?? So lame. And nickel and dime and threats everywhere. If you don’t return the room disposable keys- FEE. If you need laundry soap- FEE. If you want late checkout FEE. No conditioner, lotion, etc. and no food or grocery onsite. So the kitchen is useless.
