The hotel is immaculate and the rooms tastefully decorated. We particularly enjoyed the daily bottle of water in our room and the nespresso coffee machine with four coffee pods each day. The breakfast buffet was varied, fresh and delicious. The rooftop bar had stunning view to the old town and the bar staff are absolutely delightful and so helpful with local knowledge. The hotel's location cannot be beaten for exploring the new and old town! The only time we didn't walk was for traveling to and from Bilboa airport - for which the main bus terminal is a short ten minutes walk away (if that) along the river. The hotel has a small gym with limited equipment but good for a quick workout. There is no need for a pool as there are numerous beaches close by.

Fantastic location, hotel was great, we had a superior corner room which was a great size. I used the gym which was alright, had a running machine, cross trainer, spin bike and some cable and free weights. We paid for hotel breakfast once then skipped it as it wasn’t great. It’s a self service buffet. Unfortunately the cooked items from the buffet were cold, machine coffee was sour. The freshly squeezed orange was the highlight. Main issue was we couldn’t take a banana to eat back in our room, it had to be eaten at the table…..next day we walk about 10 minutes to Old Town Coffee, amazing coffee and breakfast for the same price! Would recommend people do that. Would stay again

Really enjoyed our stay at the ABBA. The location is ideal and easily walkable to the old town, just a few minutes over the bridge, very safe! The staff were all very helpful and always gave us a warm reception. Loved the rooftop bar in the late afternoon before heading out to dinner.

It is a solid 3 or 4 star hotel. The rooms are large and clean, and the staff are friendly. The only downside is that the breakfast is not good at all. You may want to spend the money somewhere else instead of paying for breakfast that does not offer much. Parking is 200 meters away. Be prepared to drag your luggage to the remote offside parking when you check out.

Nice hotel, great location. But to bring up the standard of the rooms, they need to be quality checked. We had a curtain hanging off hooks and mould around shower. The curtain took me 1 minute to fix and the mould just needed a little cleaning. We mentioned but not really taken seriously!

Nos encontramos con insectos (chinches) en la habitación, la limpieza no fue la mejor, las sabanas no tenían buen olor. La puerta de baño es de cristal y por las noche al entrar al baño se ilumina toda la habitación y se pasan los olores, la regadera sin iluminación. No hay estacionamiento en el hotel, hay que llevarlo a un estacionamiento publico a unos 500 de distancia y cuesta 20€ diarios. Esperaba mucho más, ya que fue una recomendación. Al final me hicieron una pequeña compensación por todos los inconvenientes, pero eso no es lo que se busca.

We really enjoyed our stay at abba San Sebastián. The hotel is in an excellent location and is quickly walkable to the old town, the beach, and all the main areas of the city center. The room was large, very clean, and everything seemed to be very new. The staff were all very good and professional. The hotel has a large rooftop which is great for hanging before or after a night out. One side of the hotel is also tucked against a private and tree lined path which was nice for coming in and out more easily and in the shade. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend it to anyone. We will definitely be returning when we are back in San Sebastián.

Positive: well positioned hotel, friendly staff, lots of space in the tall superior room. Nice decor. Comfortable large bed. We got a half bottle of red wine delivered as it was our wedding anniversary. Big clean towels. Coffee machine in room. Nice. Negative: Details make a hotel. Why Spanish hotels can’t put bathrooms behind walls and doors I don’t know. Here’s another with a huge blue glass partition and a sliding door that allows you to hear everything your partner is doing in the toilet. It’s a style issue but someone think this through! Anyway, the bathroom looked great but was actually poorly maintained. The shower tiles were thrown in. A sloppy job of tiling in general (the tile spacers were left in) plus the glass sliding door had been chipped off at the bottom and behind it was dirty. The shower was oddly very small for such a big bathroom. Lipstick marks on the coffee cups and all the Nespresso pods were decaf. DETAILS! Also there’s nothing in your welcome pack or online details about the roof terrace.

Beautiful room in a lovely hotel! We had a large comfortable room with a balcony looking over the river. The staff were really friendly, helpful, and professional. The rooftop bar is really nice, and the breakfast was good. Abba is located in a perfect spot on the river, easy walking distance to Old Town, the beach, and public transportation.

Great location and nice small room. June at front desk was very nice and I got to check in early. Bar staff are terrible though. Two of the 3 times I went to the bar to order a drink they were busy but never once even acknowledged me. That all it would have needed. Instead both times I walked away and gave up. And saw them treat other guests the same way. Otherwise a nice place to stay.

We were greeted very warmly and first impressions were good. The style and decor is clean and smart. Our room was on floor 3 facing the river and was as expected. It was dark as the beautiful trees lining the river path were in full leaf allowing minimal natural light and no view. The hotel is noisy - sounds from other rooms and the roof terrace are fairly loud. The bed was large and the mattress very firm. We didn’t like the bed much but those who like firm mattresses would. Air con worked well and we used it as we had warm weather. The bathroom all worked and overall the room was good. We had drinks at the roof bar one night and liked the views and found the price acceptable. Breakfast was ok although my husband would like coffee made by a person rather than a machine. With all the food options in Donostia we only ate one breakfast here. Location is great by the way. We walked everywhere and didn’t get lost!

Great location for going to either beach, the Old Town or Barrio Gros. We walked as far south as Reale Arena. Bus station is also within 5 minutes walk. Room was clean. Terrace is lovely.

Parking was not essy even though the hotel offered a discount. Room service was poor. The roll was not cleaned well. Also the sound carried. You could here the neighbors in the adjacent room very clearly.

Great location, excellent facilities. Varied and tasty breakfast food and drinks. Encountered three different reception staff, all very friendly, efficient and helpful. Great ambassadors for the hotel. Bar manager similarly was efficient, and friendly, nothing was too much. Would recommend this hotel for its location and the great staff.
