Chateau Mar Beach Hotel NEWLY REFURBISHED

Was given a room but it wasn’t made up. They switched room but not what I booked was able to move to the correct room the next day. Elevator was broken down. Pool was closed for cleaning. Overheard the pool guy tell a guest it was unsafe to swim in but they had opened it back up and other guest were in it. Basically just a rundown dirty moldy place. Not like the pictures on Expedia.

Parking is a real issue.

The property was doing massive renovation during our stay. The rooms had virtually no furniture. Had I known I would not have stayed there. Otherwise the staff was friendly and the pool and access to the beach was nice

Elevator wasn’t working, and staying on the fourth floor Call ahead is best. Fine place to stay other than that.

BIGGEST ISSUE WOULD BE THE LACK OF PARKING

On the beach was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only issue we found was parking. Other than that it was a great stay.

This hotel has a tremendous future after they finish recovery from a recent hurricane. There was no WI-FI in the room, but was available in the lobby along with coffee or tea. A description of the future renovations was impressive. We will be back if Trump doesn't make things worse for us.

This hotel is directly on the beach with a beach front pool. Parking was very limited. The front desk person was very nice, but I did have to wait 15 minutes to have someone check us in. The room was no the cleanest, hair and dust in corners, bottom of shower was dirty. The ocean view was awesome. People were a little loud at night. Had a little kitchenette and chairs to sit on outside.

Ok so when we got there there’s a sign on the door that says there’s no wifi and the pool is closed. It also mentioned electrical issues and that the property is still under renovations. For the price I wasn’t expecting a lot so the room was fine. It was clean. There was no mirror in the bathroom which was weird. The first day the hallway lights were out. The second day the rooms had no electricity at all. All of our food that was in the fridge from the first day spoiled. We weren’t able to do most of the things we planned the second day due to no lights. It was pretty disappointing but we made due. To me I just thought someone from the office would at least leave notes on the door to apologize for the inconvenience…but they only had a sign on the front office door with a number to call if we needed anything… If someone falls down the stairs since it’s pitch black outside and the elevator doesn’t work they’d probably get sued.

The location was excellent. Right on the beach. They are renovating so some things are still in the works, but the staff is friendly and works hard.

Location and view was great, room needs updating and deep cleaning. Mildew and rust was all over room.

Terrible, dirty, falling apart. The online photos are not the reality of the actual rooms. The rooms are cramped, old, smelly. This is a place to avoid. Definitely a bait and switch tactic. The staff was friendly, but the place itself is a dump!!!

The property is very convenient to restaurants and love that you could walk right out onto the beach from the pool area. However the pool area/pool water wasn’t very clean. Our room was semi clean, the comforter had a stain on it, all the bathroom towels where stained or not clean, and the bathroom door had holes in it from where someone either feel into or punished it.

The staff were very nice and friendly. The room was not particularly clean, the shower did not get hot, the AC was broken, the room would smell of sewage on occasion, and I could hear every word spoken in the room next to me.

Staff were great! Super sweet! However, rooms were very dirty. I had a blood stain in my bed, my families member room had a sink with no drain pipes and roaches, another families room also had roaches! Showers in the rooms were scary! It was one night! So I survived! If you don’t care about cleanliness, then one night is ok!

The room was excellent, not perfect, but well made and very clean. The bed was awesome, and the pillows were great! We had a full size refrigerator in our room, and the ocean view was amazing! The staff were very nice, and they were constantly cleaning the whole area and building. You can tell they take pride in their hotel. The beach was amazing even with some rainy days. Definitely would go back! There were only a couple of issues, nothing major. Our bathroom window did not lock, but we were on the second floor so not a huge deal. Also the blinds on the front windows had a broken section so we covered it. Other than that it was great!

We had a balcony room. Loved being able to see threw to sets of windows. The room was very spacious. There was no blackout curtain on the balcony slider door and the room still was being worked on couldn't use the kitchen sink we liked the full refrigerator The door was hard to open & close it kept sticking. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful.

Everything was fine. Disappointed no WiFi closet had no pole to hang clothes very clean inside & outside

My room was very hot all night long they moved us to a different room at 6am that was already reserved room felt nice thought but left that room back to my original room at 8am then finally got a new room for the rest of my stay at 11ish am but they did give me a discount so props to that wasnt very bad just a lil hot

Bathroom taps and cuboard unclean no plug. Mirror unaccessible to high too small. Basic accommodation. Very very noisy next to ghe lift. Nose from water system. No chairs inside. They did have a comfortable bed.

Nice place for the price. It’s an older hotel that’s been renovated. It was pretty clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would suggest they buy some chairs for the room rooms because there’s no place to sit except for the beds.

@$100.00 more than average room for a balcony suite that was on ground level. No balcony just a. Walk out with sliding doors. The shower floor looks rather dirty in corners and the exterior of building looks as if it has sun burn with peeling paint everywhere. Service was great though.

This property has very little furniture in the rooms making it seem very down market. There is no where to sit or eat. Apparently there has not been any WiFi available for guests in some time which is unexcuseable. Was pleased with overall cleanliness of the room and the pool area. Beyond that this property is a 1950's motor inn that they keep slapping paint on. There is a gas station across the street which is good for drinks and snacks. Overall a good deal for the dirt cheap price but there's a reason it's cheap.

Overall this is a decent place. Outside the rooms, parking lot, beach area, pool was all clean. Inside the room the beds were made nicely and everything was organized. Bathroom had a lot of water damage on the doors, walls and vanity. Our remote control was nasty, wouldn’t even touch it. NO HOT WATER, morning or night. I mean zero, so if you like super cold showers then it’s okay. They are renovating they say so we must have had an old musty room.

The size of the room was awesome. But there was no furniture in the rooms other than the beds. We had to us the outdoor furniture inside the room. The 2 chairs and small table we use for the microwave. The room was clean so that was good.

It’s a great “basic” hotel. Older, clean, and when we needed maintenance in our shower he was quick to fix the issue. Definitely would stay here again.

No one at front desk. Had to call a number to get code to lockbox to get key. Went to room and it smelled old, dirty anf looked nothing like the pictures in the advertisement. Called to number back and told them that we cannot stay becayse the room is not what we expected. He said to put key back on lockbox and to call next day so his biss would reumburse us the money paid for room. We called for dats and no one answered and no vm message set up. The

Reggie, who oversaw the property was amazing. He was extremely helpful and courteous. I hope the owners of the property realize how valuable an asset he is to their company.

The manager was really great. We got there really late and he was still able to check me in fast. The hotel was really nice and the beds are comfortable. It’s right on the ocean too. We will definitely come back.

So other than a couple of issues the stay was fine. We came for BikeToberfest right after Hurricane Milton just smacked Florida. But we wanted to come and support and area that was in need of business after the damage done! Are only issue at the hotel was the AC went out and the TV didn’t work! Luckily the weather was great at night so we slept with the sliding door facing the ocean open! The staff was friendly and helpful. The manager refunded a portion of our stay due to the inconvenience we had which was greatly appreciated. All in all a good place to stay.

Horrible experience. My room didn’t lock. The plate on the door jamb was broken and the safety chain was also broken. I couldn’t stay the night. I told staff in duty but they said they since it was Thanksgiving week, they couldn’t do about it or give me my money back. I called the week after and was again told they would not refund my money. Shame on them for renting a room they knew to be unsafe to a mom and child!

From the time we checked in to the time we checked out everyone was very friendly .Tevin really went out of his way to help if we needed something. The property was clean and no issues with parking like we have had at other hotels.

They double booked my room and a stranger came in at 4am

COMMUNICATION FOR CHECKING-IN ON SUNDAY WAS FRUSTRATING! AND A DEFINITELY PROBLEM! I WAITED FOR A RESPONSE BETWEEN 1 - 1 1/2 HOURS TO FINALLY GET A RESPONSE BACK WHEN I CALLED AND REPORTED TO EXPEDIA / HOTELS.COM! PHONE NUMBER ON THE DOOR WAS A NON-RESPONSE NUMBER THAT NEVER RESPONDED BACK! EVEN THE DOOR-RING ACTIVATIONS WERE IGNORED FOR OVER AN HOUR!! NEVER PUT INEFFECTUAL NUMBERS / AND RESPONDERS / PRODUCTS ( PHONE NUMBERS / DOOR-RINGS ) ON YOUR OUTDOOR DISPLAYS!! I MISSED SEEING SOME OF MY DAYTONA BEACH BAND MUSICIAN FRIENDZ PERFORM BECAUSE OF THE INEFFECTUAL METHODS AT TRYING TO CHECK-IN LAST SUNDAY, 10/05/25! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EFFECTUAL PHONE NUMBERS / AND CALLIN-METHODS ( EFFECTUAL DOOR-RINGERS ) OPERATING AT AFTER HOURS CHECK-INS! THAT WAS THE POOREST CHECK-IN EVER WITH MY DAYTONA HOTELS HISTORY SINCE 2003! PLEASE DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!! HOWEVER, THE STAY WAS VERY COMFORTABLE! THE OCEANFRONT UPGRADE WAS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! AND IT WAS UPGRADED TO THE 4TH FLOOR! THANKYOU VERY MUCH FOR THE UPGRADED AMENITIES!

NOONE ANSWERED THE PHONE FOR 2-3 DAYS! NOONE ANSWERED THE PHONE AT THE HOTEL! NOONE ANSWERED THE DOOR-RING! I COULDN'T CHECK-IN FOR 1 1/2 HOURS! DIRTY SINK! SOME LIGHTS DON'T WORK!

FABULOUS location that's the perfect mix of quiet convenience. Plenty to see and do but you're not on top of 1,000 people here.

The hotel had a wonderful location close to gas stations shopping eating on the beach. The location is what makes this place.

All rooms have water views. Older but comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay again.

Room was clean. View of Beach. Across the street from a conv store. Room was large. Had a kitchenette and again, large and very clean, and very inexpensive. Crowded parking lot; but safe, and again less than1/3 of anywhere else on the beach and better condition than many others.

The views and location

I loved my time here. Yes, the paint is peeling and Yes, the door hinges are rusted, but if you can look past that, it’s a great place. It’s very clean and quiet. Right on the beach with is a huge plus. The only downside is parking is very limited, almost every night I had trouble finding parking. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel & I would definitely visit again.

Had last minute plans and needed to stay in Ormond Beach for the night. The room was super affordable on the site, so I booked it. The hotel is right in the beach with 24 access to the pool. My room was a suite. Beds were comfy. Coffee station in lobby. Washing machines available. Furniture could use a little updating but it is super clean.

I have stayed at Chateau Mar several time, always under the previous owners, including stays during the COVID pandemic. They always had a coffee maker in the room, as well as a continental breakfast. Housekeeping was provided when you needed it. There was also staff onsite whenever I needed something. Under new management, the office is only open 8am -8pm. You are charged extra for every additional person (after the first), even when the room sleeps 2, or 4. They don’t provide tissues in the rooms. There is no in room coffee, only a multiuse machine in the office ( which doesn’t open until 8, so no coffee with your sunrise at the beach), which didn’t work right about half the time, and did not have options for tea (except chai). The drawer on the dresser was broken; their response was for me not to pull it completely open. They will only offer housekeeping after you have been there for 3 days, but they still didn’t clean my room after that. The office staff was friendly, which was nice. Bottom line, I don’t think I will go back again.

We stayed at the hotel for 9 nights. This review is a very honest review. When we first arrived my initial thought was OH No. It does not look like the pictures. Downside for us there was no cooking area. Microwave did not work well for warming up items. We did not see any grills as stated in the amenities but we also did not ask.The outside of the building is in rough shape. But just a reminder that the area had 2 hurricanes at the end of last year. The room itself could have been a lot cleaner to my standards. You also have to remember that you are on a beach there will be sand. The shower head seemed like it was very loose when i adjusted it. The hair dryer was not hooked to the wall. And the lighting sucked in the room unless blinds were open. The bed and linnens were clean and very comfortable. There was no coffeemaker in the room but there is one in the office.The pool was very clean and deck area was comfortable to hang around. In our 9 day stay we did see that the owners were doing a lot of work on the outside of the building. They were adding lighting and general maintenance to improve the look. They need to concentrate also on making the rooms cleaner. When we were leaving to catch our plane at 3 am i did fall on the steps. I believe it was from the poor lighting and excess sand brought up from the beach. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay. Staff was very friendly. And we would book again.

The hotel staff was so amazing ! The coffee machine in the office was the best coffee I think I’ve ever had , highly recommend the French vanilla ! Perfect location , very quiet . Would definitely stay again !

This place was right on the beach, it was located near some good places to eat. I was told the place was soon to be repainted which will make a better appearance. We will come back again.

Great location! Great price! Great pool! Very spacious room! For having “resort” in its name, it needs some room items like coffee maker, toaster, maybe some plates/cups/utensils, table and chairs, curtains - with that it will a great resort. No breakfast but coffee machine in lobby is great. Great service!
