GLō Best Western Savannah-Gateway I-95

This is a nice, affordable hotel about 45 minutes from the beach. I enjoyed our day/night here and the pool was convenient, but shared with the Howard Johnson next door.

Good spot for an overnight to Savannah. The rooms are small, but clean and the beds are firm. The breakfast was adequate. The parking lot was well lit and had ample spots for parking. I would stay here again if in the area.

Charged my card before arriving even though paying upon arrival then held a big deposit for incidentals which was unnecessary. Would release the deposit in 3-5 days. Had my credit card number so just charge any incidentals at checkout. No pool, exercise equipment wasn't working. If wanted to relax had to sit in stuffy room or find a park because no outdoor seating. OK breakfast bar. Two front desk personnel were great otherwise just stared at guests. Huge mix up on my reservation and had allotted my room to someone else halfway through our stay.

The hot breakfast items were cold. The fitness room equipment did not work properly.

The hotel is relatively new so it’s still got that new car smell! It’s not fancy but attractive enough to appeal to the eye. The rooms are functional & clean. The bathrooms have the wall dispensers for shampoo etc. very convenient to interstate. The only downside was none of their fitness machines worked; a common occurrence we’ve found w many hotels. That was disappointing if you’re trying to walk off a long car trip. Other than that, it’s a fine choice for the night!

Needs to have a pool and outdoor sitting area.

Clean and contemporary with courteous staff. Plenty of options for breakfast; wish hours were slightly extended for weekends. Plenty of parking and right off I-95.

The hotel was new - beds where extremely comfortable and everything looked clean and new. Also very easy for parking. Area was very safe as well.

Technology (room, check in/out), convenience (parking), cleanliness (room). The surrounding area could use some help with an outside place for pets use. The smell was really, really bad (urine). Hold pet owners accountable.

Breakfast menu had a lot of healthy choices. Staff was very nice.Parking was safe and a added bonus was we could walk next door to a Cracker Barrel restaurant.

When I arrived to my room found the following. - Found toilet paper inside toilet. The couch very dirty. When we asked the front desk for two clean sheets they asked what for? The floors dirty. The electrical blinds didn't work so we got hit with the morning light. We notify the front desk but nothing was done. The AC temperature is regulated by hotel. It's very hot at night. First time taking a shower the shampoo and shower gel empty. We had to go to the front desk to request some. Breakfast was low quality. The bread was hard as a rock. The hallways had no AC and smelled. Looks could be deceiving one thing is what the web shows you and another is the reality. We travel constantly and honestly the hotel needs TLC and most important PLEASE focus in making sure rooms are CLEAN. -

The hotel was clean and modern. The room was quiet and had a very comfortable bed. Had all the things we needed and no noise from anything outside. Breakfast had a good mix. Would recommend to stay here and we will be back!

Spotless room and friendly staff! And the location was very convenient. I had the BEST experience here and look forward to biking with Glo again! Their beds and pillows are amazing and their showers are so nice! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The shower has mold and a red stain in the back right corner should have taken picture but I didn't think it would matter

I didn't know weather all rooms are like this one,but this room didn't have exhaust fan in the bathroom ! This cause moisture and I saw traces of mold buildup in the ceiling over the shower!!!!

Probably the worst check in experience I’ve ever had. The room smelled of urine. I would not recommend, unfortunately.

Most of this hotel was clean and modern. shower was dirty had hair on the inside of the enclosure, doors looked like they have never been cleaned Shower itself not effective as only a trickle of water came out of the showerhead.

My family and I stayed one night. The shower had hairs in it. There was some reddish material splattered in the corners of the shower that looked like old blood or iodine. There were old blood or stains on the curtain blind, the alarm clock radio looked like it was stained with old blood or iodine. There was some foreign material in the backrest of the desk chair and weird stains on the lounge chair and drawer seat top. There was also a weird grease stain on the wall. The only thing that looked cleaned were the bedsheets. I cleaned the shower myself as my family was too tired to change rooms after traveling all day. I do not recommend staying here.

Bathroom door does not have lock by design which was big No if you have kids or need privacy.

New hotel, so in great condition. Rooms are small. They wouldn't be good for a family, but great for singles, and okay for couples.

Very clean. Water pressure in the shower was terrible. There were lots of restaurants around.

Great location right off I-95. Room was clean and comfortable. But the shower was a trickle. Could barely wash the soap out of my hair. Honestly so bad that it would prevent us from staying here again.

Check in was quick and simple. Bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows, towels, and wash cloths in room. Shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel conveniently mounted in shower. The water did leak out onto the bath mat though because door didn’t close tightly enough. Kuerig machine conveniently located in room. The room itself was nice and quiet for a good nights sleep.

The room was really small. Using the shower flooded the bathroom floor, management is aware of this issue in a number of the rooms and offers extra towels (instead of fixing the problem of shower door gaskets. Walls are paper thin. People hanging out in the hallway talking loudly on cell phones until 12am. Second night was slightly better but not by much. Don’t stay a minute past check out or they are knocking on your door. No kidding like 11:02am they were at the door as I was finishing packing. There are better options in that area. Price was reasonable.

The hotel lobby is pretty nice, the room was small, the bathroom door is directly in the room, there is no small entrance hallway; it was a barn bathroom door so you couldn’t lock it, you could the bathroom from the side of the door. Beds are very comfortable. There was no outdoor area.

The worse check in experience ever!!! I requested an earlier check in while making the reservation. When I arrived I explained it to the front desk clerk. She rudely said “You gotta pay $50”. I left for about and hour and a half, returned and was told it’s still going to be $50 if you check in now. I explained again, that this was a request for the beginning while making the reservation, we’ve been driving all night, we are here for a funeral that starts at 2:00pm and by now it’s 1:30pm. I asked if I can speak to a manager, she called him on the phone and he gave her the okay to allow me to check in without the extra charge. She was really angry and said, I’m going to make an exception and do it this time! She never gave me directions to the elevator, room number or anything, didn’t say anything about the free breakfast start and end times. The room was nice and clean. We went down for breakfast at 9:30am and it was already over. At check out time, I found it odd that I had to wait while the front desk clerk went up to the room before returning my incidentals deposit. On a good note, all of the staff that were cleaning the rooms on the 2nd floor were very friendly and courteous, greeting guests with big smiles.

Maybe all hotels are having problems with staffing but I have to mention the downright coldness of the man working the front desk when I checked in. He acted like I was bothering him. The girl at checkout was lovely though. Also, be prepared to pay a $150 security deposit.

The staff was extremely friendly during check in and check out.

Receptionist was terrible, i felt i was being held hostage. Forced us to leave a $150 incidental held on my credit card. Said it would be returned in 3 days after che k out. Room smelled and made me feel ill. Asked for other room and she was condecending about it saying "i dont see a need to change room" because i was in room 20 min before asking to change room at front desk. Told me to leave if i didnt like room with would forfit the cost of the room and probably would have kept my $150 incidental. Attendant had absolutly no guest service experience and no people skills. Did not get any sleep as smell in room kept me up. She claimed she called me on my cell while looking to see if room could be changed but she hadno intention of helping us and flat out lied about calling me.

From check-in, I just felt like there wasn’t any care from the staff. The man checking me in was on the phone the entire time and then spoke with another customer while I was checking in. I understand a deposit, though it was extremely high ($150), but giving me a paper, handing me the keys, and not giving me any information about breakfast times or where things are located is just bad service. The fridge didn’t seal and I saw spots of black mold and rust along the top and bottom of the shower. Additionally, the walls are paper thin and you could hear every little thing. The deposit paperwork warned that a person could be kicked out for a noise complaint and so I was on edge, worried that my toddler would get us kicked out for being “too loud”. I’ll just add, because why not? Parking was also terrible. There are at least 2 other hotels that all share that parking area and it was difficult to find anywhere to park. All around, it was a poor experience and I will not be returning.

Due to an accident delaying us, we arrived late at night. The door was locked and you needed a key to get in, which is totally fine. However, there was no one at the front desk - also understandable because it was late. However, we repeatedly called, knocked on the doors and tried everything we could to get someone’s attention. About 30 minutes later a front desk employee yelled at us to use our key. We calming told her we don’t have one and she continued to yell from the other side of the door. She finally opened it and was incredibly rude demanding to know why we didn’t use the key. When I explained we needed to check in she didn’t apologize or act remotely kind. She had a very rude tone when we were not hostile at all. We were exhausted and just wanted to get to our room. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this location. The hotel itself seemed okay and clean. However, our experience with staff ruined our stay.

Facility is very clean and updated. It was the staff that was the issue. I checked in late at around 1am or so after being on the road all day. I am a singer-songwriter and tour up and down the east coast through out the year so my hours are not your normal 9 to 5 job. Anyways, I got a late checked out for noon and was reassured twice before I went to my room that my account was marked for a noon check out. 10:30am rolls around and there's a worker going around to EVERY room banging on and slamming doors. When she got to mine at about 10:40am she started banging to see if I was still in there. I opened the door and explained to her I had a late check out (I also had the "do not disturb" sign on my door handle!). I then respectfully asked her to quit slamming doors up and down the hallway! 11:10am rolls around and the front desk is calling my room! They said check out was 11am and the person I just spoke to said I was staying an extra night. I couldn't believe any of this. I told them that they better not charge me for an extra night and that I had requested and was told I could have a noon check out when I checked in. They said it wasn't marked on my account but now it is. At this point I was wide awake so I just packed my stuff and checked out. I had a 9 hour drive ahead of me and wasn't rested at all. Y'all really need to check yourself. Stop knocking on doors before the actual check out! I paid to sleep and not be disturbed!

You can hear EVERYTHING!!! Walls are thin, when the door shuts it makes a loud noise! You can hear people across the hallway as if they were in your room! Requested a late check out the night before and was told it was fine then got a call at 11am the next morning asking me to be out by 11:15am or I would be charged additional money! Just terrible!

Conveniently located right of the highway with easy access off the side road. Hotel was clean, quiet and somewhat moderately designed. Perfect stay for events in the Savannah area without the craziness of downtown.

Very clean modern facility. Rooms were very nice. Breakfast was good. Appreciate the free parking. Easy drive to downtown, only 10 to 15 minutes. Staff were very nice and accommodating.

An easy stop during a trip on I95. Free parking and quick breakfast.

We think your signage should have been much better and higher. The name wasn't listed at the ramp of the intersection. We couldn't see the name at the first traffic light off the interchange so didn't turn left when we should have.

Traveling through on I95. Good price for a quality stay. Easily accessible from highway exit. Hotel was up to date and room was very clean. Quiet too! Friendly staff and a decent breakfast. I’d stay here again if traveling on I 95.

The hotel is conveniently located right off of 95, and is exceptionally clean. I feel safe there traveling alone.

Hotel was great. The breakfast was not great at all and the bathroom door just wakes everyone up when using it. It was very loud.

Wonderful stay. Very clean. Bed comfortable. Breakfast had egg, sausage and gravy and biscuits ( can you believe it) and other things.

Breakfast was poor. Room was nice. Staff fine.

The room was great, beds were comfy. Unfortunately breakfast was awful. We were told it was until 9am, when we arrived at 8:30 nothing was left but some eggs and sausage that had been sitting for a while. There was cereal but no milk. I went to the front desk where two workers were standing. They told me the breakfast employee didn’t show and they called someone to come in. The other employee said “it’s almost over anyway”. A few more families came down to the same experience. The workers at the desk were not busy but refused to refill anything. I think the breakfast would have been good if someone would have helped.

The staff was super friendly, room was very clean (minor cosmetic issues), bed was super comfortable, shower was a bit messy because it was a walk in shower, but the whole bathroom was a drain floor so that's fine. - breakfast was my only low score because I've visited here before and the eggs were slightly cold and "spongy" a year or two ago. Same complaint again.

The room was good value for the price but don't believe the promise of a complimentary breakfast unless you get there early. By the time I got to the lobby at 9AM, all the entrees were gone and all that was left was instant oatmeal packets and cold cereal. I don't know when the breakfast bar was scheduled to close but I'll bet it wasn't at 9:20. I might have gone back for another cup of coffee but they shut everything down while visitors were still sitting there.

This hotel try and operate with very limited staff while still charging the guests full rate. Remote of tv didn't work, big shower head but poor water pressure (so why the nice showerhead if it does not work in the way it should) Receptionist hardly on the desk- they chat with other staff in the far corner by the breakfast room, if you need them. We stay average in hotels 1x week, this was the worst breakfast ever- arrived at 8:30am with our children- basically more than half of food containers/bowls empty- no staff in site. When I asked the receptionist - I got the clear feeling I was now waisting her time as her 2 children were playing in their pj's at the front desk and I could just as well eat whatever is left if it was up to her (as she kept asking me what we needed and am I sure the dough of the waffle machine is finished etc..We went to McDonalds for breakfast instead- What a waste of money at this hotel- we spesifically booked a hotel which offers breakfast and then still needed to spend extra money on breakfast. Hotel also still noisy from road noise. First and last time we use Best Western Hotels.

Stay was good, it was clean, close to good restaurants, nice surroundings. Breakfast was horrible compared to all other breakfast included hotels we stayed so far. Mostly they warmed frozen items nothing fresh, very oily, muffins were hard juice was full of water . Otherwise it’s ok. We have experienced many good hotels in such price range with much better quality of food and services.
